First time visit, I had the ceviche based on other Yelp reviews and I was certainly not disappointed. The waiter even challenged me to find better ceviche in the area and to report back to him, he said that he has it a couple of times a week. The plate was $13 but for the amount you got, well worth it. It was very lemony and had the right amount of spice that they call medium. I had them bring out some of the hot spice so I could add a little extra to kick it up a notch. The dish came with a cut piece of corn although I have never seen corn kernels this large on an ear of corn before, I'm not sure what variety it was. Also served on the side was as large pile of yucca (I believe) that was delicious. My friend ordered their chicken lunch special which he got with rice, beans, and a salad on the side. It was around $8 and plenty to eat. He really enjoyed the dish and he said the chicken was delicious. They also brought out 3 different dipping sauces that would go on beef, chicken, or just about anything. Great food! read more

Just had one of the most delicious meals of the year! Very tasty roast chicken with a variety of sauces, rice and beans, avocado salad, and a sliced potato in cheese sauce. Server Christian was very cordial and attentive. Unassuming but pleasant atmosphere, where the quality of the food takes front seat. Couldn't possibly be any better. An absolute favorite. Literally the best ceviche I've ever had, besides making it myself. Their sweet plantains are on point as well and a must with every entree. The Lomo and ceviche are normally my go to's, although I have had the chicken and it was very yummy. Unless you have a good amount of time to spare I'd order and pick up. What a gem! Came here with my fiancé and loved it! I've never had Peruvian food before and was completely blown away with the flavors. As a starter, they gave us warm corn nuts, which were crunchy and a great snack, especially with their homemade sauces. We got the ceviche lemon and limo saltado with steak. The ceviche has big hunks of fish and was mixed with a perfectly spicy (we asked for it - the ceviche comes in mild-very spicy) and tangy sauce. It was also paired with sweet potato, which I was initially hesitant about, but was actually a perfect compliment. The limo saltado was outstanding - it came with perfectly cooked steak, rice and big steak fries. The fries were dripping with the sauce from the steak and once mixed with the rice, was perfection. Also, used generous portions of their homemade mayo, which is light and tangy. The servers were friendly, helpful and make you feel very welcomed. Best chicken.. so juicy and so well done. The plantains are very well done. The salad is great... just everything is good. Found this place by accident in 2006 and have been coming back. Read someone's on here that they're too busy to answer their phone.... ok, they should figure out how to handle their popularity, but honestly, it's a good sign that they're so busy. ;) We popped in, in the mid-afternoon on Saturday, and we felt lucky we found a seat. Absolutely delicious. It was a recommendation from a friend and yelp confirmed. I got the lomo saltada and at our table was the pollo special and the ceviche. Everyone was thoroughly impressed. We all ate everything on our plates. The atmosphere was good until inappropriate music videos were being shown. Not kid friendly TVs. Service was great and quick and answered all of or questions. Went here for the first time after work with some coworkers. It's a small restaurant so it was kind of crowded with all the tables and furniture in there, other than that the food was great! I ordered breaded steak and rice with fried yuca. Steak caught me off guard cause it was a thin steak, usually when I order steak they're big, fat, juicy ones. When I took a bite I was like "Wow! This is a really good steak." The outer layer of my steak was crispy and tender in the middle, loved it. Fried yuca was really good with the sauces they gave us in the beginning. I just wish they had more space in the restaurant it gets crowded fast but other than that food was flavorful, good portions and great presentation. Would come back again. read more

Absolutely the worst service I have ever had. Waited for over an hour to still be told that my appetizers were still not ready. I ordered ceviche and chicken wings, it shouldn't have taken that long. The server kept skipping over our table and not making eye contact or even refilling drinks. The rest of our party were not even looked after, when the food did come out it was sporadic and no one got to eat together or asked how the food was. The food was amazing. However, they charge an extra $00.50 for the sauce. Also, I found a hair in my Lomo Saltado and politely let the server know. She took the plate with the hair on it and took it to the kitchen. The server returned to the table defensively stating it could not have been a hair but possibly a thread from a sweater, almost as if blaming me for the hair or thread in my food. She never once apologized and simply asked "so what do you want to do?" The service was incredibly lackluster and never once did they come to check on us. This restaurant is in my 'hood so we get take-out at least once or twice a month. It is really, really good and definitely on my list of favorite neighborhood food joints. It is casual and serves a Peruvian-style roasted chicken that is very tasty and not at all greasy. They give you a yellowish sauce to go with it that has very earthy and spicy tastes. YUMMY!!! My kids can't get enough of it. Other sides that are good are the red beans and rice and a funny combination of french fries and grilled pieces of hot dogs. Another total kid item. They say it's a typical Peruvian treat -- who knows. It sounds weird but it works. The salad dressing is really tasty and home-made. It's a garlicky white sauce that goes GREAT with the lettuce and avocado salad. YUMMY and I can't get enough of it. I've asked how they make it but they will never tell. Don't blame them. There is one item of interest if you should eat at the restaurant -- they have a very bizarre collection of '80s DVDs that they play constantly. They are absolutely hilarious and it is completely illogical as to why on earth they show them at a Peruvian restaurant. I've been there for a Cher classic and a Duran Duran nightmare. Too funny. The service is very simple and friendly. They serve beer and wine. Anyways, this is the epitome of a good local place so please support it -- we need our small businesses!! read more

Someone told us about this place. It is hidden in the back of a relatively vacant shopping plaza. I was a bit skeptical but we went in. The staff is SO warm and welcoming! The food was good, the service not so much..... My wife and i were seated and waited for a for about 5 minutes for anyone to come by. In the meantime the table behind us was seated a server promptly came over to take care of them. They had drinks and a salad before a server came to our table. The table next to us came 20 minutes after us and their food came at the same time as ours and their table was cleared and their bill brought while I had to got to the bar and ask for our bill. Brazas is one of our favorite go-to restaurants. We have been coming here for over 6 years and it never disappoints. We have brought many friends and family to the restaurant and they all love it just as much as we do. We always get the super combo and substitute the Salchipapas for yucca fries. The salad dressing and dipping sauces are so delicious. Something else that I love about the restaurant is that we often get the meal to go. It is the one place that I can honestly say the food is just as good to-go as it is if you eat in the restaurant. There are too many restaurants that when you get food to-go it is poor quality. But not here! The only downside to the restaurant can be the service. It depends on who you get as a server as to whether or not you will have good service. read more

Okay, so I really don't eat Peruvian food that often, but I would say that this place hits the mark! I especially loved their chicken and the maduros (mature plantains). The food takes a while to get to you and on Sunday they have a very shortened menu, but everything is pretty delicious. read more

I made a trip all the way from Winter Haven to try it's "Pollo a la brasa", if you are Peruvian you are in for a disappointment because the meat has no flavor, although the fries were good. For all Americans!!! Avoid this place. I love Peruvian food as an American, but I definitely won't be coming back here. I'm not sure where to start because there are so many things wrong. Normally if a restaurant is busy the waiter will say it might take a little longer, but we were told nothing. We waited a good 40 mins after ordering to get everyone's food. We literally saw 3 other tables sit down after us and get their food and leave before we finished eating. We ordered the chicken and ceviche, two items that are already prepared. My chicken was all shriveled up and dry!!, probably a piece from the morning. The ceviche was still a little frozen when it was served to us, not fresh in anyway. This restaurant is not equipped to handle a busy time. I was also disappointed in the fact my server wasn't hispanic he was brazilian how ironic. Both english and spanish were terrible. I recommend The Ceviche House on OBT in the South Chase shopping center. The food is better, service is faster and they make sure you have a good experience, so don't think that this is a peruvian thing, there are better places out there read more
