This place is literally a hidden gem! The outside doesn't look too fancy and neither does the inside, but the food is so good I came here with my kids, and we had a great time as the service was great, food was fresh and they had tv's for kids to watch! We grabbed the quarter chicken meal which was very flavorful and came with the side of rice and beans, black or red. We chose black and it was very delicious. We also tried the medium chicken soup which also came with a side of rice that was very flavorful and it had lots of different ingredients from potatoes, carrots, noodles, etc. I grabbed the shrimp with tomato and fried plain with a side of salad it was so good I would definitely come back here because one it's less crowded and the prices are affordable and the food is great!

Every time we go to Orlando we visit one or two times. Never disappointed, food is on point. Very friendly service.

Food was 5 stars but the service is negative. Despite the amazing food I won't return.

The mofongo was moist and most importantly, FLAVORFUL as was their carne frita, not dry or lack in flavor.

I really enjoyed my meal at Piñones En Orlando. I've eaten from their truck in the past, and this…read morewas my first time in the restaurant. The lady at the register was patient with me as I stumbled through my broken Spanish. She didn't suggest switching to English, so I must have been speaking reasonably well. So I ordered the carne frita (fried pork) with a side of tostones. When I go to any Latin restaurant, I have to try the tostones. Ever since Rice & Beans closed I've been on the quest for some good tostones. Piñones' tostones (no rhyme intended) were decent, but not quite what I hoped for. The star of the meal was the carne frita. It was hot, juicy and flavorful. I'll likely try it again in a mofongo.

The fried chicken wasn't bad, it had flavor and the tostones were nice and crispy. We didn't care for the rest though. The arroz con gandules was the driest I have ever had! The carne frita/maditas de cerdo had NO seasoning. I was so shocked! They tasted like unseasoned pork and oil! I was so disappointed because I wanted those so bad. The alcapurria de carne was ok, but nothing I would crave or come back for. There was no ac and it was like 90 degrees outside. If I lived local I would've taken the food to go but unfortunately, I had to sit there and suffer to eat one of the sorriest excuses for puerto rican food I've had so far. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately for us it was a big miss. The ladies working there didn't look happy to be there but neither would I if I had to work in those conditions! It was like a sauna!

My husband usually can't eat Mofongo because they mash it with butter, but here they mash it fresh so they were able to omit the butter and use oil. The restaurant is clean. From the outside you would never guess what is waiting for you inside. Tucked within a plaza this place is stunning, big, beautiful and feels like a full trip to a high end Puerto Rican dining experience the moment you walk through the door. We went on a Saturday night without a reservation and were still seated at a communal high top which we did not mind at all. We started with the alcapurrias and although they were on the smaller side the flavor was insane. For my main I had the mofongo and churrasco and wow. The best mofongo I have had. They put actual pieces of chicharrón inside which gave it the most incredible texture contrast. The churrasco was cooked to perfection and came already sliced into strips with an incredible chimichurri sauce on the side. My fiancé ordered the rice and beans with fried chicken and we loved every bite. The passion fruit juice was also amazing and a must order. The one thing to note is that our food took about 45 minutes to come out and our server did not check on us in the meantime for refills or to give us a heads up about the wait. That part could use some improvement. But the food was so incredibly good that we are absolutely coming back. Hidden gem that deserves way more recognition.

The ambiance and the warmth of the staff took me back to the Caribbean--it definitely felt like home. Their menu features a Latin-Asian fusion, and I loved every second of it. We started with the Krab Salad. It was incredibly fresh, topped with avocado, and the perfect way to open my appetite for a sushi night. Next were the Pork Fried Gyoza, served with a sticky, glossy sauce that has just the right amount of kick. They were so good, you won't be able to put your chopsticks down. The Escobar Roll combines shrimp tempura and churrasco--the best of both worlds. It's topped with sweet plantains, chimichurri sauce, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. I had my doubts about all those flavors working together, but I have no idea how they perfected that combination--they absolutely did. The Mar y Tierra Roll was recommended by our waiter, and I highly recommend ordering it in tempura. It gives the roll a completely different texture, and it's absolutely amazing. The Pollo Loco Roll is topped with sweet plantains and teriyaki sauce. It's simple, yet packed with flavor. We finished it all off with a crème brûlée. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be enjoying one at a sushi restaurant, but it was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. If you're looking for creative sushi, unique Latin-inspired flavors, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like family, The Escobar Kitchen is definitely worth the visit.
