I've only been here once, but I'll probably come back. The employees are hard-working but down to earth people that are attentive. The coffee tasted great and although and the egg / Tater Tot poutine was probably a little indulgent the portions are generous enough to comfortably share with my wife and they use high quality locally sourced ingredients. Went this weekend for breakfast. I got a Somis Sammy on wheat. Very nice flavor from the hummus and packed with lots of of fresh veg, comes with a few bites of arugula salad and a pickle. Tasty for sure, and quite light (not very filling). We also got the mini waffles with berries and whipped cream. Good flavor but waffles were very very small (maybe 2.5" in diameter, 3 little waffles), also waffles not very crispy despite good flavor. Also got 1 egg (they didn't ask how it should be prepared, it arrived over hard) and 2 strips of bacon, and 2 coffees. All of this set us back around $40 (with tip). Honestly it seemed a bit pricey for what we got, didn't feel too satisfied. I had come here before when it was Breakfast Cafe. The decor is updated but I kinda dislike the walk-up and order format, especially at this price point. Service was friendly and prompt. I would come back again to try the breakfast keto bowl or the breakfast burrito, both of which looked substantially heartier, fresh and delicious. Pancakes also looked good and crispy chicken sandwich special looked delicious and filling (hope they keep it on the menu). Looking forward to giving Braxton's another shot. read more

I've been here three times already and have enjoyed each visit. I've had the classic breakfast, the avocado toast with egg and the sausage and cheddar bowl. All were great choices, but the sausage and cheddar bowl was not a lot of food. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean and inviting with indoor and outdoor seating. Different than a lot of the restaurants in Camarillo - glad to have a unique new place in town for breakfast and lunch! read more

My first time for breakfast here and I was nervous as there was somebody sending back their waffles as we were getting seated. I ended up getting the breakfast "burger" which was actually just a breakfast sandwich unless you pay $2 extra for the beef patty. It was good, but not really special. Christine got the chicken and waffles but was confused by the crispyness of the waffles and fried chicken becoming soggy from the gravy that is plated underneath. During Covid - delivered food needs some sort of improvement, my advice would be to do what I did and arrange to pick it up yourself. I've never really had or wanted to try Avocado Toast but wanting to try something new I'm glad I did. You literally can't go wrong ordering almost anything from the menu. The lemon pancakes are amazing, the fresh juices are also a must try. Prices are a little high which is why we don't go here as often but they do have great food. read more

The very first thing I liked about this restaurant is that the employees care. They have energy. So much so I thought the manager must be the owner. It is refreshing this day and age to see this. I had the Tuna Wrap which was delicious and my husband the chicken club which he kept showing me was exactly how it should be made. In addition they are animal friendly - huge with me. Nothing went smoothly here. Arrived with about 5 tables open and host said it would be a 5-10 minute wait. I figured maybe the kitchen was backed up and they didn't want us to wait for our food. We were seated in 25 minutes. Sitting by the door I now know that's their standard response for every customer even when they had 5 parties waiting. Ordered immediately which was great but when we noticed two tables that got seated after us revived their door and we didn't asked our waiter who then brought it out. Went to Braxton's for breakfast, great food with large servings. The restaurant has that old time kitchen feeling.

We are not from the area and was traveling with our dog, so we were searching for a dog friendly restaurant. We honestly are in love with this place, very jealous we don't have one of these at home. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the chicken and waffle plate and both plates came out looking like they should be on a magazine. The food itself was amazing and so tasteful. We even got the dog bowl for our dog which she loved as well. Our bill was very reasonable for all that we ordered and honestly will return if we are back in the area (with or without our dog). read more

Braxton's Kitchen is amazing! Had the egg white omelette and my pup had the sausage Pattie's. Not only was the food flavorful, the service was on point! They even cut up my pups sausage patties, put it in a bowl and brought water. We both were in heaven! Big plus, besides the amazing food, is that a portion of their monthly sales go towards local rescues and nonprofits!! Dog and I can't recommend this place enough! Small quaint coffee shop sized restaurant that serves up deceptively good dishes. Had to drop by and check out the hype. The first thing you will notice is that while the place is small there is quite of bit of outdoor seating available. Again, the place is pretty small, but it seems like they are very proficient with their ordering process. Placed two orders of the crispy chicken sandwich and the avocado toast. First impression of the chicken sandwich was it looked really good. The fries also looked very tasty. The fries were a little Luke warm and could've used a little bit of salt, but all in all pretty damn good. On to the chicken sandwich. While it is definitely crunchy and juicy but lacked the flavor I was hoping. I thought that the onions may have over powered the chicken a bit and the sauce made the bread a bit too soggy. The avocado toast was very icily presented and turned out to be good. All in all, if you're in Camarillo and seek a dog friendly place that serves up some great dishes check this place out. read more

A friend recommended Braxton's after they had some delicious take out. The next day I popped in for lunch and had a chance to talk with the owner. Super friendly guy who took time to answer my questions about his inspiration for the food and questions about the ingredients. It was great to hear that the restaurant is locally owned and operated, and that whenever possible they source local ingredients. I ended up ordering Bentleys chicken sandwich and enjoyed every bite! I'm looking forward to tasting more of the menu. Great service overall and reasonable prices. read more

They forgot about our order for about 20 minutes. Also the staff started cleaning up the store while customers were still in the store to get ready to leave. I asked if it would be easier for us to make our order to go and they said yes. After waiting for our to be made they gave us an overcooked, burnt burger with no seasoning and a pesto chicken sandwich with no pesto. They then proceeded to close the store before the posted closing time to leave early. If no stars was an option they would definitely get 0 stars. This place is definitely not managed well. Braxton is the owners dog so you can bring your pooch, order him done good and let him socialize. Wished it was bigger but the wait was worth it. Fresh ingredients and brought out hot. Being seated at the outdoor tables on the left side was rough. Flies were everywhere, most likely due to dog urine. A single customer was seated at a 4-person table while my friend and I had a far smaller table directly in the sun. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong dishes, but the food was even worse than the seating arrangement. My friend got the French toast, which was soggy and flavorless. The omelette I ordered had severely undercooked bacon and sausage, and I could eat only a small portion due to not wanting to ingest raw food. The ambiance was just ok. It was kind of dirty and unorganized, and there were plenty of opportunities for the upkeep and cleaning as it seemed dingy. There was a cart full of several different types of sauces to go containers and other items right next to our table, the counter near the kitchen was full of to go containers and other items which gives a really bad impression...and there were flies all over the place that couldn't let us enjoy our food. The service team was friendly. The food was made to order, and the portions were generous. I'll recommend the Southern breakfast, the biscuit was fresh from scratch and their country gravy was absolutely scrumptious, the Chilaquiles was way too spicy although I ordered the medium level it was way too spicy so I couldn't eat it, the upcharge for replacing the small salad that came with my meal was $3 for fruit which wasn't great so I'll stay away from substitutions. I'll give them another chance and probably sit at the patio to avoid the flies and not so nice ambiance. read more

We love Braxton kitchen! We've had so many of their items and if your gluten eating folk this is your place! They have amazing breakfast, sausage is fantastic and they have a breakfast burger that is just succulent and messy but oh so worth it!!! It's def quality breakfast/lunch place where you can bring your dog! Now, I wanted to love their gluten free waffles but they were so dense, dry and crumbly, I wouldn't recommend for the GF crowd. You need a gallon of syrup to get through. I would recommend they switch batters at some point maybe to GF Krustez or GF King Arthur. Probably the worst 4.5 star restaurant I've been to. Food was 3 star, nothing special, nothing I couldn't make at home despite getting the 2 "local favorites". The French toast was probably the worst French toast I've ever had at a restaurant. It was essentially that fake brioche bread you can buy at a grocery store, I have no doubts anyone could have made this at home. The chicken and waffles were better, but still need some work. Chicken slightly overcooked, a no no if you're going to use chicken breast and the gravy was... well not sure you can call it gravy. It was thick enough you could have used it to lay bricks. Taste was acceptable but definitely not a lot of fried chicken and gravy connoisseurs coming through because I'm sure many home cooks could do it better. Food wasn't the worst part. On 2/22/23 there was a young lady waiting and she was awful, just no work ethic. They open at 8am that means they should be ready for service at 8am, but she's doing her hair and eating breakfast after opening hours. First time I've had someone take my order while chewing breakfast. She never checked on us or offered to refill water, however the gentleman did who you could tell was much more passionate about his job. All in all, had the gentleman who refilled our water served us this score would be a 3/5 however there are some serious deficiencies in food, but perhaps we got the wrong thing, if so they need to take the hearts off those dishes. Unfortunately experience was too poor to try again, unless invited back by the restaurant if they read this review. read more
