We moved into a new home and wanted our dinning room floor (which was carpet) to be hardwood so the…read morekitchen hardwood floor flowed right into the dinning room. Anthony and Mark came out and let us know it might look a little off to have an older kitchen floor with a new dinning room floor but gave me prices on both options - just the dinning room or refinishing the kitchen floor at the same time as the dinning room. No pressure just gave me the options. I'm glad we chose to refinish the kitchen floor at the same time because now everything looks perfect. Those guys work hard and are very fast! Jennifer who runs the office was very responsive to all my questions and texts before and during the process. The final cost came in right on point with the estimate and most importantly, the end result is great. I would not hesitate to use ProWorks again.

As one of the other reviewers said, these guys use subcontractors of varying quality. They had to…read morerefinish the floor 3 times because the owner insisted on sending the same crew back each time (which makes sense if using a fixed-price sub - keeps their profit intact). I communicated my concerns professionally (and almost apologetically) with the owner as we went, but I'm not sure that any of them were addressed directly with the crew - rather they were just given basic instructions at the start of each day to fix the problems from the last go 'round. I'll give them credit for trying to make it right, and the floor looks a lot better than it did when they started, but it still wasn't 100% at the end and they didn't want to listen to any more complaints. A list of items specific issues that as far as I can tell were never communicated back to the crew: - The first thing the crew leader did was take a dump in my bathroom, without asking, and made this a daily ritual. - They didn't bother to cover anything up before sanding - no sheathing between rooms, no covers over the vents - so dust was everywhere in the house. At least I had the good sense to turn off the HVAC, but still had to change the air filters several times before they finished the job. - They sanded/buffed the carpet, trashing it where the carpet meets the hardwood. - Stain was applied in some places across grain / boards rather than same direction leading to stripes (1st attempt), and inconsistently leading to dark splotches (2nd attempt). - They used my ladder (from the garage) without asking. - They left gobs of topcoat around trim and puddling elsewhere. - They did not take the time to use filler properly after the second attempt - there are dark spots around nails, knots, and where sanding was rough. - Hand sanding was quite rough in several areas leading to dark stain, especially around trim, cabinets, toilet, etc. And they didn't thoroughly clean or screen before coating in several places, leading to dirt and debris in the finish. - Stain spatter was left on the wall from brush work and flinging wet towels. The sinks were a left an absolute mess. - There was no real cleanup to speak of and patches of grass are dead in the front yard where they cleaned stain off their tools and equipment. - The "suicide cord" they were using to connect to 240V was a fire and safety hazard. After attempting to share my last round of concerns (not asking for them to redo it again but rather just trying to share some of the issues for future improvement), Anthony told me to stop looking so closely and asked, "You gonna blast us on the internet?" indicating his level of concern. For a website that touts their high level of professionalism and reputation, the crew did not reflect it. If I wasn't a professional contractor myself, then this might have been a traumatic experience. And if I knew the crew and could have hired them directly, then I would have undoubtedly paid half as much... but then they might not have redone it 3 times (especially because I would have kicked them out after the second attempt). I never asked for a discount, and one was certainly never offered. I'm leaving 2 stars because on Yelp that means it "could've been better" but for the price I paid to go with the "pros" I regret not giving one of the other bidders a chance.

Having hardwood floors is wonderful except when they have to be refinished. We put it off as long…read moreas we could and then began our search. We vetted several companies and decided to go with ASA Flooring for several reasons: 1) Responsiveness. Bryan was quick to get back to my inquiry and was at the house to assess the project within a day. 2) Knowledgeable. Our refrigerator had leaked and warped several boards. Bryan explained the pros and cons of board replacement vs letting the boards dry out. We went with the latter and saved money. We had another challenge in the fact that we did not have two rooms refinished which meant seamless color matching. Alfredo was an artist and had an eye for selecting the perfect match. Although the final decision was ours, his experience was a definite help. 3) Efficient. The whole process from start to finish only took three days. We used the opportunity for a little vacation in the mountains and came home to beautiful floors! 4) Professional. Kevin, the project manager, came the weekend before to assess the job site and answer any questions. Alberto hung plastic and taped off the areas to reduce dust and vacuumed any remaining dust before the final coat. It was nearly dust free! 5) Follow up: Kevin did the final walk through with us to make sure we were satisfied. I'd highly recommend ASA Flooring for your next hardwood floor project!

I asked for it to be glued down, tiles selected had instructions for gluing but they were not followed. I was not told during the project the installer was not gluing them down per instructions until the project was done. I am now having to consider replacing it since the floor pops and snaps when we walk on it. I also just discovered that when the trim they removed was replaced the caulk used was kitchen caulk (not paintable) so I had to scrape it off and redo it.

This review is long over due but I think it stands even more true now that we've had our amazing…read morecarpet from Carpet Mart and more for over two months!! I can't say enough good things about Gary and his customer service, he was able to do the in-home estimate and measurements very quickly and came on a Sunday so we could talk about our carpet options. Before having Gary and Carpet Mart come over to do the estimate, I had another local carpet company come and do an in-home estimate, and while their representative was super nice, I wanted to have other options and wanted to be able to feel some nylon carpet options (the other company did not show me ANY nylon options! As someone completely new to the idea of buying carpet, I was appalled to find out from Google after my very lengthy appointment with the other company that nylon can be a better choice for durability). Anywho - Gary brought over the specific brand nylon carpet samples I had found from some internet searches plus a TON of other similar options - both in nylon and polyester (for a variety of textures, softness levels, and price). Gary was always very upfront with pricing (all samples had the price clearly on the front, the other company had NO prices listed and no break down of any costs) and clearly explained everything to us as well. We decided to move forward with getting our entire house carpeted with Carpet Mart and more and couldn't be more pleased with the results! We have a two story home and the stairs look absolutely perfect. They had a two man team and they were efficient, polite, and did great work. I saw a review on here about someone having to help them lift the carpet, and I can't imagine their team doing that - trust me, they did all the heavy lifting and removed all the old carpet as well. On a side note, in between receiving the official estimate for the carpet and officially moving forward with Carpet mart, I did request an official estimate from the other carpet company for the exact same carpet we ended up purchasing (I was curious!). The other company offered a "Free installation" promo - let me tell you this was absolute lies!! The other carpet company estimate was nearly a $1,000 more, and that was with their "Free installation". I did e-mail Gary prior to installation about any promotions for free installation and he wrote me an awesome and honest e-mail saying nothing in life is free, and that anyone offering free installation will just tack the price onto the carpet, and he was more than correct. I really appreciated his response and his humor, while also not being offended by me asking. TL;DR - You won't be disappointed with Carpet Mart's quality and installation, and Gary will make your project that much easier. Thank you!! We love our Phenix carpet!

They offer a great selection of carpet without being overwhelming. The price of the carpet included both padding and installation, and they use their own installers instead of third-party contractors. The order came in earlier than expected, and it was finished within two weeks The two-man crew was efficient, clean, and very respectful. They did a beautiful job, and we were particularly impressed with the stairs; they look fantastic! I will definitely use Simply Floors again and highly recommend them to others.

For more than a year, we've wanted to replace the flooring on our first floor. We had dark hardwood…read morefloors and then carpet in the the living room area (that was destroyed by a foster puppy). Our vision was for a more open feel with consistent flooring throughout the entire floor (and lighter colored floors). Floors by Tomorrow to the rescue!! Initially, I used Yelp to start a new project, which is a great feature because you can just write up your project once and then send it to multiple contractors/businesses to get quotes. Of course in this case, they still need to come measure the space before they can provide a quote, but it's a convenient way to get things going! This whole process took half a year though... because, life. But we got a quote from one contractor via Yelp and then one through Lowe's. There were pros and cons to both (cost, amount of time/days it would take to finish, who would pick up the materials, etc.). I thought to revisit the Yelp contractors and reached back out to Floors by Tomorrow to get a quote. Right away, Dan got in touch with me and scheduled the initial consult to provide a quote. When he came, he was willing to work with our budget (and the two other quotes we had received). But what made him the best was that he literally scheduled for the project to complete the next day -- "Floors by Tomorrow" is right! We actually needed to schedule two days out because we needed a day to move all the furniture into the garage. Staff came right on time in the morning and finished by 6pm in the evening. They took off our baseboards and put them back on at the end, installed transitions, and even added plywood panels to the previously carpeted area (in order to keep the floor even). There was quite a bit of dust afterward (since they were cutting inside the house) but overall we could see they did their best to sweep and leave things as clean as they could. It really has transformed our house! And we will definitely reach back out when we are ready to replace the carpets on our second floor!
