Really interesting concept. The brisket was so tender and juicy, I highly recommend that. Their house sauce is really good and well. Ask for some on tge side to dip your fries and and you won't be disappointed. The carrots were also a good choice as a topping. I highly recommend getting the fries. The only downfall to this place is it is a little small, not a lot of seating so don't try to go there and dine in with a large group. read more

Wow. Are the consistent 5-star reviews true? YES. We tried Brassica on a whim on a very long roadtrip. Needless to say, we PLANNED to swing through on the way home just to eat here again. Please please please bring Brassica to other cities. It is absolutely too delicious to keep just in Columbus. read more

My friend Miriam took me to Brassica last year and I was INSTANTLY IN LOVE! We went to the Short North location, it's defiantly got that New York vibe. Defiantly a tight space so be prepared. The nice thing is that most people don't stay long so you can usually get seating pretty quickly. AND it is the Short North so be aware of the new parking policies! No one wants a ticket. I love love love the pita, hummus, and all the veggies! It's kind of a build your own vibe and I love it. I always get the bowl with pita on the side. (DO IT OR WE CAN'T BE FRIENDS) Oh man is it good. Their sauces are cool too and you can totally get them on the side if you aren't sure. They also have some delicious fries! I don't get them every time but they are really good, especially if it's your first time. They also have some cool drink options too! Get a drink and keep refilling. Guys I'm getting hungry for this just writing about it! It's my favorite! read more

My husband and I are new to Columbus and couldn't wait to try the infamous, Brassica. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the super friendly and informative staff. As I mentioned it was our first time there and they were more than willing to explain the menu/guide us through the ordering process. Each selection was fresh and made with incredible ingredients - two things we always love! We ate here roughly five hours ago and I haven't stopped talking (raving) about it. Brassica from the founders of Northstar a Columbus favorite! Brassica vegetables are highly regarded for their nutritional value and the stars on their menu. You can have an organic, whole wheat pita filled with vegetables as well as antibiotic free meats or a rich greens salad covered with incredibly flavorful grilled vegetables - eggplant, carrots, cauliflower. Stopped by on Saturday for lunch and we arrived at just the right time we walked in, the friendly associates were happy to answer our questions as we made our wonderful creations. My friend had a salad with falafel and I had salad and the friendly associate told me I could 1/2 and 1/2 two proteins so I went with chicken and falafel. I also had baba ganoush which was so good, paired great with the protein and the veggies - carrots, cauliflower, pickled cabbage, beets. There were a few sauces to pair with your salad. I had roasted tomato and the house sauce on the side. The food was so good, the flavoring was amazing, it didn't really need any sauce at all. HOLY! I ate the biggest, fattest, falafel... EVER! The options just kept coming, and they were ALL good!! Stumbling upon this place was a happy-accident. The vibe is super chill and relaxing. Looooove! Falafel, DIY salad/sandwich with brisket (to die for), pickled veggies, and all the brassica you can ask for... Top it off with fries and a beer. Seriously one of my favorite meals! Parking is always going to be messy on Friday nights and on weekends in the Short North - watch for permit only signs and go for the parking lots across the street (or along Goodale Park) if you're running short on time or patience. There are other locations in Upper Arlington and Bexley that may have better parking options, but the downside to that is you don't get to walk around the lovely Short Noth after a satisfying meal! read more

The food was delectable. The mixture of flavors were complex, but surprisingly delish. I usually don't visit restaurants I haven't tried when hungry. The hubby and I took a chance on this one. I love Brassica! A bowl of greens with lentils and rice to start with. Add chicken, falafel, or brisket (my absolute favorite). Add the red cabbage, some hummus, pickled veggies, roasted cauliflower and top it with z'hug (jalapeño/cilantro) sauce and you are in for a real taste treat! read more

I love brassica I go there every week. The pita is the best option there. In my pita I get hummus, fried onions, chicken, feta, special sauce, sweet beets, cauliflower, and carrots. The service is amazing and the employees are so pleasant and kind. read more

What a good experience! I usually do not venture out and try new and exciting food, but I'm so glad that I did. Their food is so fresh, I love the open kitchen atmosphere where you can see all of the workers, and their masks, preparing the food. I love that they have mixed the ease of accessibility with something other than "fast" food. Each employee that I spoke with today was so very welcoming and helpful. If not for the food, the experience with the employees would bring me back! They are following all of the safe procedures and guidelines. I wish they wore name tags so I could call out my new best friend behind the counter ;) read more

this was maybe the best falafel pita sandwich i've ever had. the presentation is awesome. we also saw the pita freshly baked in the oven, which was cool. my pita tasted fresh. my boyfriend got the brisket sandwich and his was saucy and had more of a marinated, cooked feel rather than fresh, which makes sense. he also got the spicy sauce which was, wow, definitely spicy. the mint lemonade was great, too. i liked the eggplant, but i don't think it really went well with the sandwich. i preferred the tzatziki sauce over the house sauce (the house sauce kinda just tasted too creamy for me?). and i thought the baba ghanoush tasted like a shoe, but maybe that's just what baba ghanoush tastes like. also the staff was really nice! everyone was super helpful and explained the ingredients of things or were happy to put sauces on the side if we weren't sure about them i'd definitely recommend this place and come back to it the next time i'm in columbus read more

For those who aren't toddlers, one can almost attest that life has its trade offs and ups & downs. Michael Jordan was the greatest basketball player of all time, but isn't currently a great team owner. Jennifer Aniston is one of the most attractive women, but also may not have the most drama free life. Steve Jobs amassed more money than almost any one ever did, yet lived a relatively short life. One might say that trade offs may in fact be inevitable in life. Unfortunately, my trade off is that I am not as monetarily blessed as Jeff Bezos. However, the positive is that I do believe I have is the ability to ascertain and identify really quality food. And Brassica serves some savory, high quality food. My friends and I probably ordered their signature dishes. I got some Brassica fries and a pita chicken sandwich. My other friends procured some salad bowls. The fries were some of the better fries I've ever tasted, incredibly bomb. The crust, crisp as a chilly fall morning. The potato filling was soft, buttery, and most importantly, piping hot. And their pita bread sandwich was undeniably decadent, abounding with Mediterranean flavor. Now, although those were great in their own right, I do believe the best thing that's made here are the pillow soft, fragrant, and divine pita bread. It's so amazing to me how something so simple yet exceptionally made can be the star of the show. Don't get me wrong, the other aspects of my meal were tremendous, solid 4 / 5, but for some reason, my simple, 7 inch in diameter, flour pita bread stood out amongst the rest. What really put this review over the top was the terrific customer service that Sophia (cashier / team member) displayed. It's the little things that get the people going. The gourmet Mediterranean version of Chipotle. You get a pita vs a burrito. Lamb vs steak. Hummus vs guac. You get the idea. It's worth the stop. I spent $8 on the chicken pita. It was delicious, every last bite. read more

this became one of my go-to places in Columbus. I couldn't get by a month without a bowl of Brassica. I usually get the falafel or beef brisket. you can also di half half but they will take the more expensive protein. If you want sides to share w others, the cajun fries is also bomb! so much love for this place read more

This spot has a nice outdoor area which is perfect during COVID. It's nicely separated too. Everything here is so flavorful - especially the beets and picked cabbage! I usually go for the salad bowls to save a few calories. Fresh ingredients and flavor! What else could you ask for? read more

Brassica is Mediterranean Chipotle. Fill a bowl with grains, meat (or falafel), and countless side options (various pickled and roasted veggies, sauces, hummus, salsas, cheese, and more). The food is delicious with big portion sizes. The indoor setup is a bit overly dim and with little mahogany nook-like booths (versus a brighter, more open concept seating arrangement), which wasn't quite to my liking but works for a group of two to four. Excellent for what it offers. This is a little restaurant tucked away in the short north area right on high street. The moment you enter, someone explains how to order the meal here. You order at the counter. Everything appears to be made fresh. You can order either a pita or a salad. Hummus and baba ghanoush come with it. Their baba ghanoush is one of the better ones I've had in town. I got the brisket --- it was quite good. My son got the chicken pita and he really enjoyed this as well. The food was delicious, workers were friendly. But I was appalled to see salad which fell onto the counter simply brushed back into the large salad bowl. As the workers are about belly level with the counter, if their belly brushes against say...a bathroom sink, a door, a toilet, then touches the counter where the lettuce is laying, if they brush it off the counter, your salad is getting all those germs in it. - Food was tasty, but I won't be back. Hope I don't get sick!! read more

10/10! We stopped by on a road trip up to Chicago for lunch and we're so incredibly happy that we did (might have to drop by on our way back down too!). The chicken pita sandwich was so flavorful and filling, and the fries are a must! The minty pink lemonade also lived up to the hype. In Columbus for a conference and glad we took the Hilton staff for the recommendation. Simple menu with an assembly line for pick your ingredients salad or pita sandwich. I didn't use the bathrooms but it all looked clean and tables were immediately freshen up the tables. The service was responsive with great attitude! The fries were hot and fresh seasoned just a little heavy with spices but not enough to complain just note. One of lowest ratios of fries to fry nuggets I've had in a while. I counted only 6 smaller than my little finger. I had the sandwich with all sorts of vibrantly flavored ingredients like greens, beets, cauliflower, cabbage, hummus and just perfectly balanced stuff ! To start, we ordered at 6:27, our Door Dasher picked up the food at 6:36, but it wasn't delivered until 8:57... Completely unacceptable. Granted the extremely late delivery wasn't the restaurant's fault (necessarily)... However, because they use Door Dash for delivery, they're ultimately responsible by proxy. Add in that the delivery driver spoke no English, tried to kick our English Staffy who ran out whilst smiling to say "hi" (if you know anything about Staffy's, you know they love people and don't have a mean bone in their body), our food was cold because it was delivered 1.5 hours late, and I was about to lose my flipping mind. Now onto the food... These were quite honestly some of the worst subs we've ever had. Subway is miles ahead of this hot garbage, and it's not remotely close. The food was $50 for two puny half filled subs, inedible coleslaw (absolutely disgusting), a pickle, and a GF cookie (that was not delivered). Now onto the really bad part... Within 30 minutes of eating this trash, both my wife and I had to run for the toilet (I'll leave it at that). Bottom line... Screw this place. PS - If I ever run into Cosmic Dave, he's going to get a piece of my mind for charging people $ for this crap.

The chunkiness of the pork was a bit dry and I desperately wanted more onions but it was all so good. The hot sauce was mild and added an elevated layer of heat but again, still very mild hot sauce. Lines felt long when you walked in while lunch is bustling but they are quick and efficient. I may have waited 4-5min and had my sandwich ready to go.

They don't offer much more than sandwiches (despite the name) and sadly no homemade chips or plantains at this location- BUT - the sandwiches alone are WORTH IT. Scotty learned of the imminent departure and came with cookies and treats for the long flight! And now this morning it was another airport drop off. It was my turn, dining alone but nothing about a table for one at Scotty's is lonely. The staff are immediately welcoming and every customer is every employee's charge. Four different people helped me or just checked in. The Gina breakfast combos have lots to offer for breakfast. But I was thrilled this 9:30 am to be assured the whole menu was available. I was looking for something less common and was excited to see potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce as an option. That would have been great but then the waitress (Salome maybe) said, "Do you like corned beef?" The Schmoozer is 3 enormous latkes with thinly shaved and lightly grilled corn beef on top with an over easy egg atop that. Seriously, I can declare victory for finding something I'd never had before. Never would have found it without the nudge. Had to cut myself off with all the coffee offers. Just a great vibe. You rarely see a 4.9 rating and even more rarely that high based on so many reviews. But I understand why - like in so many things in life, it is about the people. And the joy they bring to every conversation. And I will just add, in this age when some would divide us, this dining room is filled with all manner of folks, reveling together over food in fellowship.

Every single one has been great! Tonight we got #57 Franklin's Kibbetz, which has homemade mozzarella and pesto and added turkey (bottom right). We also got #5 Mimi's Melody, which has their homemade tuna salad on grilled rye (bottom left). Next we got our favorite, #41 Phil Katzinger's Club, which has their homemade chicken salad, bacon, and Honeycup mustard (top left). Finally we got #3 Ari's Open Door, which had pastrami, salami, and cream cheese (top right). The service is also amazing - the workers are kind and even gave us free bagels tonight as they were closing! Must try.

Additionally, having had a Goodman's Deli mile high corned beef sandwich when I lived in Cleveland, I had even higher expectations. Their most popular sandwich is the Reuben so I went with that. Katzingers did not meet them. When I arrived to pick up my sandwich I was shocked the line wasn't out the door to place orders before they closed and the dining room had maybe 6 people in it. There were about 6 to go bags on the shelf along with mine. When I mentioned to the cashier that I was surprised it wasn't busier, she said it'll be busier tomorrow. I said the day after St Pat's? No answer. Another not good sign in my mind. When I got home, the wrapped sandwich was bigger than my hand but not very tall. The paper had areas of grease which is a good sign for this sandwich. The corned beef itself was tender but there wasn't as much of it, maybe an inch high and 1/3 of the bread had no corned beef. I also could not taste the thousand island dressing. The rye bread was toasted but pretty soggy. The crust was mostly crunchy. The bread slices were paired upside down putting a narrower side a larger side against each other. There is not enough sauerkraut and it is not very sour. I was given the choice of a dill or garlic pickle but I cannot tell you how it was because they didn't put it in the bag. I expected this sandwich to have so much meat in it, I could eat for multiple days for $18. Again, disappointed. Maybe I should've gotten the deli sized version but paying that much for a sandwich... The inside of the deli is fun and it's obvious it's been around a long time and has been well loved. I wanted to like Katzinger's but since the price and the quality don't match, I cannot.

Couple things worth noting: it's tucked inside a neighborhood bar on Indianola. Parking can be tricky but there's more around back and just down a bit closer to Savor. Inside the bar, just head to the back inside window to order. They have a menu with some notes and updates, also. Seems chicken sandwiches will be back soon which might be the thing I try next. Also, on Saturdays, you can order a pound of chicharron for $20. A bit about costs: I think it's a bit expensive. A single empanada is $5. There are price breaks for larger quantities ordered. Italian sub and double patty burgers are each $13. The Appolonia Italian is a decent size, but the buger, even with double patty, felt small. The service is super friendly! The quality of their offerings is much higher than average. Everything tasted really good, no notes. The spicy Italian is a bit spicier than I prefer with their version of a giardiniera on it, but Mr loved it. All in all, a generous 4. I'd get it again and recommend it with my notes so you know what to expect. (Sorry I forgot a pic of the burger)
