I'd heard good things about this place from two friends, so when I got a craving for some good rotisserie chicken I thought I'd give Brasas Peru a try. My SO and I came in on a weeknight around 6pm and there were two other diners in the restaurant, we took a seat and were served some corn kernels with a selection of three different sauces. The yellow was our fave. We opted for a combo which had a 1/4 chicken, a choice of a side, and a salad. I chose cassava, and my SO ordered his combo with rice and beans. Right by the entrance there was a ginormous TV and so we watched soccer as we waited for our food. Our plates came out in about 15 minutes, and the phone was constantly ringing during that time with to-go orders. Right as we got our food there were three other parties that came in for dinner so it got busier. The food was excellent, the chicken was juicy, seasoned well, it was just what I was looking for! As we were eating, the table next to us received their order of jalea and it looked phenomenal so I definitely look forward to ordering it for my family in the near future. I came here with the family for dinner and it was amazing. We had a family combo with chicken, chaufa, tostones, maduros and salad. The portions were incredible. I loved it and highly recommend this restaurant. It was affordable and such big portions. My dads girlfriend ordered the chicken soup and it was big/tasty. The service was great and quick. Ate lunch here. Got the quarter chicken lunch special. Asked what's in the green spicy sauce since I have a bunch of food allergies....girl said it's "home made." I asked again while trying to buy some to take home and she still refused to tell me. I ate it and tongue started timgling. I googled up 'Peruvian green hot sauce' amd it turns out it has mint in it (which is very faint & too mild to discern).....I have a mint allergy...luckily very mild and limited to just an oral allergy. Food was so so....rice tasted a bit stale on the verge of going bad. Wouldn't go here again if I was starving to death and nothing else was open. read more

Ok .. so we live near this place , have eaten from Brasa before , but never sat for dinner .. all I can say is I love what they did with the location! It gave us a feel of a nightclub / Restaurant and though it is small inside it is enough to enjoy the experience. I had the Causa and lomo saltado as well as the paella and all the dishes were spot on! The food is excellent here ! The pisco sours ( drink) were a hit ... my only complaint was that I didn't see my waitress as much as I wanted to so that we could re order drinks but other than that the food and experience was amazing ! I never complained in my life before but after today I had enough of restaurants serving horrible food. I ordered a chupe de seafood. When I got my dish I notice there were only four pieces of shrimp that's it. I informed the waiter, he quickly glanced at it and went into the kitchen. 10 mins later he comes back out with a small bowl of seafood and apologized on behalf of the chef. For a split second I got happy and dumped all of the seafood into my bowl. My first bite of the calamari and octopus was awful. It almost felt like I was chewing on gum but thicker. I couldn't even cut it with a knife. At this point I was done and asked for my check only to find out that he added a 20% tip on a party of two. I will not be coming back here nor do I recommend anyone to especially after one of the owners was informed and did nothing. Horrible horrible experience read more

Ambiance: small place, only about 8 tables. Not fancy, but clean. The Wait staff is the only reason this place got a 4 from me. There was a language barrier between us. The waitress only spoke Spanish and we were having a hard time understanding each other. She was nice, and I felt badly, but it was tough to ask questions and place our order. The manager or owner (not sure which he was), spoke English perfectly and was very nice. Asking if everything was okay, If we needed anything else and asking us if it was our first time to the restaurant. He was great. Food: we the fried yucca with yellow sauce and teriyaki wings to start. Then we got the lunch special. It's only $7.99 and you get soup, salad, 1/4 rotisserie chicken and a side. The sides we tried were the sweet plantains and the fried rice. The soup was basic - chicken noodle, The rotisserie chicken was well seasoned and juicy. The first time I've had Peruvian rottiserie chicken was when I was a teen and my uncle would take the entire family to eat in Elizabeth New Jersey long ago. Since then, I've been wanting that flavor again but to no luck till now. Decided to visit this place with my girlfriend on a Friday night in Franklin Square since we've always drove by but never got a chance to try it (Much better than a boston market if you are into rotisserie chicken). Place was pretty empty at the time but heck, service was fast and on point! We ordered the family meal for $30ish bucks that came with Beans, A whole chicken cut into 4, Salad, Fries/sausage, and Rice and fried plaintain that tasted amazing with the green chili sauce (WELL WORTH IT)!!!! I am from the city (New York City) so finding a place like this around is going to be tough. Then again, my girlfriend lives like a few blocks away so I can look forward to ordering again!
