A nice little place that has been around since 1910, servers are great. We initially went across the street to the Farmhouse, but there was a long line and we saw the Branson Cafe across the street, no line. We had the chicken fried steak sandwich special, that was a solid homestyle sandwich. The patty melt and burger were good. The Reuben was very good, with bavarian style saurkraut. Tried to get a late breakfast. Went in at 11. They were still serving breakfast. They told us when we sat down that they were out of biscuits. Strike one. By policy they will not make pancakes or French toast after 11 even though they still will make breakfast. Strike two. Trying to find something my daughter will eat. We order the kids fruit. They are out of fruit. Tried to see if they would bend a little on the pancakes since they are out of the fruit. Nope. Strike three. We went to Bob Evans. Stopped here on our visit to Branson. Great local cafe. Had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. It was hot and fresh and tasted amazing! My daughter had the grilled chicken salad. Their ranch is home made. She loved it. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. The owner came and introduced herself. When we come back to Branson, we will definitely come back here. A great little small town diner in downtown Branson. The staff was incredibly nice and allowed me to create my own breakfast combination (I just needed some biscuits and gravy that morning too). Came here for lunch while on vacation. I ordered the catfish special, it came with hushpuppies, coleslaw and fries. Very generous portions, everything was hot and fresh and only had to wait about 15 minutes despite it being pretty busy. The only downside was that both the hushpuppies and the catfish were pretty bland- it tasted like there was no seasoning at all. I dont care for coleslaw so my friend ate mine and she says it was great. read more

During a recent Branson visit, my family ate at the Branson Cafe, and we found that this relaxed diner is a great destination for a meal (although not quite as good as the Farmhouse across the street). Our meals were good, the prices reasonable, and the service very good. The highlight of the meal was our desserts! How can you go wrong with coconut cream pie, and they offered Magnolia pie, which was a new one on us! It is somewhat similar to pecan pie, but coconut is used rather than pecans - delicious!! We recommend the Branson Cafe on your next visit to Branson!! read more

Do not go to this restaurant if you are looking for a safe environment during the pandemic. The waitresses are wearing lace masks not currently and not appropriately distancing. Disappointing! The four of us ordered three different things. My daughter got chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and corn. The potatoes and corn were cold. My father and I ordered the special of the day. The soup was cold. They took it back to microwave it for us. The soup was so watery, I couldn't eat it. Cute little place right on Main St. We picked it because I was looking for a place that had good eggs benedict. First, the eggs were a little underdone. I asked for over medium and they were pretty much over easy. Second, the muffin wasn't even toasted. The hollandaise wasn't bad, but didn't have much taste. OK this place has to be kept a secrete. We had the pleasure of eating at this place not once but twice. The service is extremely friendly and very helpful. The wife and I had 2 of their most famous plates. The chicken fried steak is really good and great portion sizes along with mashed potatoes and a vegetable. With all the home diner places to eat in Branson it is hard to choose which one to go to....if you have settled in to the Branson Cafe, you have chosen wisely. It was lunchtime and the place was packed....but we found a table just as someone was leaving. Our waitress was an older lady...like most of the Branson population...she was sweet as their pies. We had the hot hame and cheese, the frito pie and fried chicken breasts. All were very good...real home cooking. I'll just say I am not a fan of black eyed peas...but my husband got them as a side and I couldn't stop eating them. The side salad was nothing special, but the rolls they bring are yummy. I came to the restaurant with my family on the raves of a group of people who had just eaten there. I didn't think to look for reviews on Yelp until after we sat down. Fortunately the Yelp reviews were good. My daughter and I had the chicken fried steak. It was hand breaded, and very tasty. The portion size was perfect. If you are looking for a gigantic, hang-off-the-sides-of-the-plate chicken fry, go somewhere else. The dinner also includes mashed potatoes, vegetable and salad. The waitstaff is very polite and busy keeping your glasses filled and tables bussed and cleaned. You will not go wrong eating here the next time you are in Downtown Branson. read more

This was our most favorite place to eat while in Branson for 8 days! My boys LOVED their dinner (kid's Mac and cheese and fried shrimp), and my husband and I were blown away with our meals as well (fried catfish special and chicken fried steak)! Our one regret is that we didn't come earlier in our week so we could have enjoyed it multiple times. We split two pieces of pie after our dinner (chocolate and coconut) and both were incredible! The crust is the best I've ever had-and I even make homemade crust. The service could not have been better, and we would recommend Branson Cafe to anyone! Cannot wait to go back!!! read more
