We used to eat here as kids. Came here and did a carry out. I got a 3 meat sampler and a soup. The French Onion soup was awful. Very greasy and overall too much thyme. I would not recommend. The sides that came with the meal are super small. I was so disappointed. They also gave me no silverware or extra bbq sauce with my carryout. The bbq chicken was great. Not dry but very juicy. The ribs were eh. Kind of dry and not flavorful. Overall I wouldn't come back for the ribs. I would stop if I was in the neighborhood but wouldn't rush over. If you do carryout maybe you need to ask for silverware or extra bbq sauce. Also skip the soup. read more

Very impressed by my few recent visits to The Branding Iron. Service was impeccable. Very courteous staff ( and pretty ) . The ribs were insane and the 2nd visit I had a huge burger cooked perfectly med rare. All the food there looked very impressive tho and ill be coming back soon. So I came to this spot for a drink and food.......... Was craving something light so I went with the menu item " shrimp skewerS". Felt like ok cool nice appetizer with more than one skewer. Dude came back with 1 skewer with 5 shrimp. These mofos charged me the menu price of $15 for 5 shrimp!!! Im like ok where's the other skewer since it said (skewers) (more than 1). The food was pretty good, pot roast panini was great. Margarita flatbread was more like a pizza but had good flavor (which made me wonder what their actual pizza is like & what the difference is ). Unfortunately, drinks were not up to par. Ordered scotch on the rocks (dewers). The bill showed $6 for the liquor and $2 for ice which is ridiculous for the tiny pour provided. We've been coming here pretty much since they opened and today was the first time we've been treated kinda shabby. We come in for a late dinner and asked the server if we could play music on the"juke box", she said yes. 30 minutes after putting cash in and still not hearing our requested music, the DJ for the night began his set. Which was fine, but when we asked for a refund of the $5 deposited into the jukebox since we wouldn't hear our selections, our server came back to our table with the money out of her own pocket. She said the manager for the night had left the building and someone at the bar informed her that a refund could not be given by them because "eventually" our selections would be heard after the DJ's 4 HOUR SET WAS DONE! The fact she felt she had to that says alot about her as a decent person, we all agreed that was not okay with us and as a result you see this review. read more

They have a great food menu but if you're there on a Friday and just want to have some cocktails while the DJ is jamming... you would have to wait for a while to get your drink. Everytime we eat here it's an adventure. We grew up with this originally it was on 95th street. We first went here when they had opened. It was tough because they had some real growing pains with there food. The Brisket was one of them it was smoked way to long. The Mac and cheese side was in terrible need to go back to the drawing board and service in general wasn't the greatest. We figure it should be good with the original branding iron name. Not a chance because i felt everytime I ate there I was a tester of the food and service. We went there a few months ago. They changed the breading on the fish and chips. The fish was the old beer batter which we actually liked. But some how someone decided that it go a panko batter and we definitely didn't cate for knowing it was one item on there menu that we liked. Also the Diet Pepsi I had ordered wasn't Diet Pepsi. Overall after two years there it's definitely still going through growing pains. I think it could be very good once they fix several things. But how many people feel the same way and are like buyer beware. I know I don't care to eat at a place that I'm afraid of what the actual on tray may look or taste right. read more

Went there for lunch, only 2 waitresses were wearing masks, and staff and customers walking all over the restaurant coughing, yelling and talking without masks. I mentioned this to the manager, and she said it wasn't law to make customers wear masks. At this point, we had waited 45 mins for a steak sandwich and hamburger, so we left. I went for lunch with my mother and a friend. I ordered a 3 meat sampler with brisket, pulled pork and ribs. Mom ordered brisket dinner. My friend also had a 3 piece sampler with ribs, chicken and brisket. We got our food and everything was cool. Barely even warm. They say their brisket is smoked for 12 hours. I have never seen a smoked brisket without a smoke ring around it. Not only that it looked like it was cooked in an oven. Sliced along the grain, not against it. Put into a pan and heated up as needed. When I told the waitress, she took all the plates, including the sides to the kitchen. When she returned, the food was still barely warm. The waitress said they had the same problem last week. Like nobody turned the stove on! I am more than willing to give a place a second chance. But not here! The waitress was obviously upset with the kitchen. She made mention to the manager. Who by the way never came to our table to explain anything. So we decided to leave. Which we did! I will not go back to this place! So unprofessional in many ways. The only high note was the doughnut holes were fresh out of the fryer and tasty. So my advice to the manager is get a real bbq chef. Cole slaw was great as were the fries. They were out of several beers and i settled for a Modelo. My gf had wine. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Food was horrible. Had a grilled cheese and the cheese wasn't melted. Shrimp skewers were cold and chewy. Buffalo wrap was like drinking Franks Red Hot out of the bottle. Have been here a couple of times last Dec. and food and service was great. Now just went almost 2 weeks and my husband and I ordered the brisket which was cold. My husband's was basically shredded brisket where as mine was shredded and had a few small slices. We were overcharged on the happy hour drinks too. Fast forward a couple of days later.
