If I could give this place no stars, I would! In July, my husband and I went to Brand Optometry for our annual eye exams. I had made our appointments with a few weeks advance for a late Saturday morning. We were not seen until an hour and a half after our appointments. However, the doctor (Ida) is very professional and nice--she apologized and there were no other issues. Skip ahead to today and I went in to purchase a new pair of glasses, as mine broke this past week. I picked out a pair of frames that were on sale. Again, this is where their customer service is bad. They attempted to charge me for an exam fee, as they had not read my file stating that I had just had it a month prior. Then they stated that because my frames were on sale that I could not use the amount that my insurance stated they would pay. This is where I got upset--how can they determine that I can't use my insurance just because its on sale? They can't! The amount my insurance is willing to pay has no bearing on whatever price they set for a pair of frames. I asked them where that policy was stated at and they said that they would just allow me to use the insurance. Well thanks for the favor! I am reporting this to my insurance company to see if they are pulling this scam with other customers. Needless to say, this is two seperate incidents in where their customer service has been less than appropriate. I will not be returning after I receive my new pair of glasses. read more

Came here for an eye exam, will never come back. I walked in and checked in, the lady said to wait a little. I sat in the closest seat by the front desk so she wouldn't forget me, but I guess she did. I felt very uncomfortable because all the girls that worked there were talking in another language and would look at me every once in awhile and laugh (it made me feel they were talking about me). Anyways, I guess a few people the lady at the front desk knew walked in, she was beyond nice to them and they got in before me when they were walk ins and I was waiting....still...with an appointment. I work around the corner from Brand, and have dropped in a couple of times to have my glasses/sunglasses adjusted, which they were very gracious about doing. I recently received a new prescription, and thinking of Brand went in and tried on many frames winding up with 2 that I really liked. I did not purchase that day, as I wanted to check a couple other shops before spending $500-$1000 on new frames. Welllll, I just dropped in to see if I could have my sunglasses adjusted and was told that they could only tighten the screws and could not "adjust" them as they were my own frames. The girl recognized me from when I was in last week, and I am absolutely appalled that not only did she not adjust them (as they have in the past) she didn't even wipe the lenses down. I have been busy, and have not made the final decision on which frames I want to get, but the "lack of service" that I just received just helped me make the decision. My new prescription would require me having the lenses replaced in my existing glasses/sunglasses as well (Chloe frames)~ so what, you aren't going to adjust my glasses for me as a courtesy because I didn't by the Frames that day? the lenses (progressives) run over $300 by the time it's all said and done. Very disappointed, I am not just a looky-loo I am a potential customer who is absolutely willing to pay for quality and style. They just lost me and god knows how much $$$ and will hopefully take a look at their procedures and learn from this experience. read more

Came here for eye exam and glasses because I heard that their doctors and selection were amazing. The doctor I saw was just that... Amazing! For his services he gets 5 stars. The problem is the service after. I called twice to check the status of my glasses because it had passed the timeframe I was quoted with no communication. The first woman I spoke with told me that my prescription sunglasses would be ready after my glasses. Ok fine, but I didn't want to make two trips over there, so I called a few days later and another older woman told me that both pairs would be ready by that Friday. So great, took time off from work to go pick them up only to be told that they weren't ready and that they were not scheduled to come in (she never event went to check to see if they were there!). And the girl I spoke to at the front desk then gave me attitude and called me a lair saying that I was never told they would be ready. The man who I spoke with after the incident apologized for her, but it was a little too late. When I did get back to my office I then had a voicemail from a man there telling me that they made a mistake and that both pairs HAD been ready and that I needed to go pick them up! I was furious! After spending well over $400 on each pair of glasses, I don't appreciate being called a liar especially when I was right the whole time. I understand that misunderstandings happen and that at times people can misspeak, but do not call a paying customer a liar. When I originally ordered the set they have me a timeframe of when they would be ready. If you give a time table to someone who is paying you for a service and you don't have them ready, then you call and tell them! Bad customer service. He's been my optometrist for several years now and I used to see him at his previous work place and will follow him to wherever he goes!!! Dr. Hornstein is honestly one of the greatest optometrists I have ever visited. His exams are very detailed and not rushed, and he MAKES SURE you are comfortable with his prescription. You can really tell that he loves what he does and genuinely cares about each and every one of his patients. It's in a good location (right across the street from a Porto's so that you can get your cheese roll fix after your appointment), the office is nice, and, most importantly, everyone on the staff is amazing. Ivon, Elvira, Vartan, and the rest of the staff really know how to make you feel like family. You can tell that helping anyone who walks in their door is their first priority, especially with how patient and helpful everyone is. My loyalty to the staff at Brand Optometry spans many years. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. The quality of service is top notch and they care about the health of my eyes. Dr. Djanbatian is very knowledgeable. He was the first optometrist to introduce me to progressive eye glasses that gradually moved from reading to distance in the same lense. And his prescriptions have always been spot on. When I got insurance, I forgot to tell the office and I paid the bill. Months later I realized that I had the insurance. The office manager was very nice about it. She reworked all the paperwork and refunded me my money. Now that's what I call cheerful service! This place has AMAZING customer service! They were very friendly and patient with me as I picked a pair of glasses, and were more than accommodating when once I actually received the glasses, I realized they didn't match me as much. After that whole process, instead of being annoyed that I wanted to switch it out, they were more than happy to accommodate me and help me find another pair I liked, saying they just want me to be happy with my pair so if it means swapping it out, then so be it. Luckily I had not worn them and they were still in perfect condition, but still, they were so polite and quick to help me in any way possible. THIS is why we have to keep supporting small businesses-- they go the extra mile that some other big chains just don't do. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and told myself I need to write a review when it was all over. Now I have the perfect pair of eyeglasses, and nothing but great things to say about this place, the optometrist that helped me out was so sweet, and the gentleman who was patient with me as I picked a pair was so kind. The diagnostic and testing equipment is state of the art. They truly give you a thorough exam, even take images of your optic nerve. I had a fantastic experience at Brand Optometry, whose staff and doctors are so kind, welcoming, knowledgeable and caring about their patients' needs. I needed an exam and new glasses, and also was having issues with redness in both eyes. Dr. Torossian diagnosed the issue (dehydration), gave me a regimen to follow, and also adjusted my contact lens and eyeglass prescriptions for my needs. I usually hate going to the eye doctor, but I just came back from a contact fitting and examination, and I couldn't be happier. All the assistants are very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable (they made that puff-of-air test somewhat bearable). And for the examination and fitting, Dr Ida was so sweet and friendly! She really knows her stuff- she was sure to explain everything and was very pleasant to talk to. Great visit! I definitely recommend dr Djanbatian. I have been coming here for about 3-4 years for regular yearly eye exams and for contact lens evaluations. He is very nice and patient and respectful to his patients. The staff has always been nice as well. The lenses/ glasses usually have never taken more than a week to arrive, so that has been nice. They also have a free 2 hour parking with validation on Lexington dr. He is definitely one of the best optometrists I have had, and I have gone to many of them in the past 15 years. read more

This was my first eye in years and it was very thorough, they even give the option of a back of the eye exam. My only complaint is how long I was there for. From the time I got there to when I finished paying it took 80 minutes. Extremely excessive for a routine eye exam. Even with this downside I would still highly recommend them. read more

I've been a patient at Brand Optometry for several years and have never had a bad experience. I've never had to wait very long to be seen, and the overall visit is efficient yet thorough. They have a wide variety of frames to choose from, which I really appreciate, and carry items/brands that most other offices do not. The staff is always pleasant, helpful, and happy to see you. I've even been helped on a Sunday when I had an emergency situation after having called their emergency staff number. All the optometrists in the office are caring and competent, so you wouldn't have to worry about being able to trust their medical advice (Which is very important to me). I have been seeing Dr. D'Janbatian since I was in Elementary School, I'm now 21 and because of how pleasant and professional he is, haven't been to a single other optometrist. However, if you move be wary of having your order shipped to your new address, I move around the country often for work and no matter how many times I tell them to send my order to "insert address here" they've either forgotten to send them anywhere at all and didn't even call me when my order was ready, or they sent it to my permanent address in Glendale. If you need your order sent elsewhere for any reason, I suggest having somebody pick up your order for you and sending it your way, this is what I do now and it's far less of a headache. read more

If i could give no stars i would. I cant even explain what horrible service they have at Brand Optometry. The workers are all very rude and disrespectful. The main reasons i will never come to Brand Optometry again are these: 1. Dr. J is so rude and money hungry, next time you guys go make sure you know what they are charging you for. They were about to make me pay 300 dollars for a eye exam with no contacts...(i know it doesn't make sense) little did i know the 10 years that i had been coming to brand opt. they charged me for a contact lenses examination without my approval of it. i didn't even know something like that existed. 2. The workers, if i could i would beat up each one of those Armenian stuck up girls. The way they were talking to my mother i could have. 3. Dr. J is a very wealthy man. He was yelling at me to give me $100. How sad is that? 4. I cant see I'm blind i cant operate a car or go to work and he wasn't giving me a trial pair until i got the money to pay him. Really? Basically do yourself a favor if you have gone here check your records for being over charged for no reason. Its so sad how people treat customers. I work with customer service and I've never been rude to anyone like that. And if i ever see any of those rude girls working on the street...they will definitely get it from me.
