FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! Today is Friday (9/25/15). My appointment was this past Wednesday (9/23) @ 11:15 a.m. A few minutes ago I got a text notifying me the glasses were ready for pick-up. So I will be seeing clearly this weekend! I'm so happy! As for my office experience, I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment and was called within 10 minutes. Their waiting room is modern with touch of old world charm. As with most businesses in Glendale, there were a lot of Armenian's working at this location. I came in for my annual eye exam last week. The staff was very friendly and welcoming as soon as I walked in the door. I didn't wait any more then 5 minutes and was called in for my appointment. I've been coming here ever since I was in HS... Dr J is super cool, answers all my questions & always has a positive demeanor. And since I've worn glasses a majority of my life, I tend to need a reliable optometrist that I can depend on. Like I said, Dr. J'anbatian is great. There was even a time where he had me try on some soft contact lenses. I mentioned to him I couldn't see hardly anything when I was surfing, especially on gloomy overcast days. He gave me 2 sets of acuvue lenses free of charge to test out if they would help me. I just couldnt used to them and sure enough, on my very 1st duck dive with them on, they washed right out of my eyes... Stoops! hahah... Oh well, at least I tried & I was thankful for Dr J giving me the lenses for a free trial run. I've gotten many, many frames here over the years. From clip-on sunglasses over prescription to regular prescription frames. They have a big selection in all price ranges. The optician and optometry office staff have always been very helpful... Just the other day, I was in for my annual eye exam and when it came time to ordering my new frames, the lady that helped was able to track down the frame style & color I wanted. It was a frame they no longer carried but one I got from them 2 years ago. I wanted the gunmetal color this time around & she found the frame manufacturer's (Altair) website. She brought the iPad and showed the color options and made sure they were exactly what I was looking for. I initially wanted a matte brown frame and they had a bronze one. I was about to go with that one but I had reservations if it was gonna be too glossy a finish. She told me it indeed was going to be a bit shiny and even showed an example of how shiny with another frame they had on hand... Good thing she did because I would've totally regretted ordering that style.... And that's the type of experience & customer service I've come to expect from being a customer of Brand Optometry for over 20 years.... They've never let me down. This was my first visit here. Dr. Holstein was my dr. He was very thorough and knowledgeable.

Brand Optometry has always provided quality and speedy service. During these strange times, I understand that everyone is on edge and doing their best to handle the situation the best they can: However, after my examination I was not given guidance as to what the process for picking out frames were. I wasn't helped right away and was left wandering around for 20 min. I asked for a tray but was not directed on what I can and cannot do. With that being said 20 mins wandering around and trying on glasses a representative (male) came up to me, said my name and asked what I was doing, proceeded to get mad at me after I apologized for grabbing frames and not putting them in my tray after touching them. He then processed to scoff at me and walk away. At this point I feel terrible, now I'm standing waiting for 5 min for someone to help me. After that incident another representative (female/pregnant) helped me and provided customer service very quickly. I apologized to her about what happened and felt terrible that I did that, but what bothers me is that the previous representative got mad at me and walked away. I don't expect an apology but I do think there needs to be clear guidelines for patrons looking at frames. Moving forward I think that is essential to have protocols for anyone coming in. I got great customer service from start to finish. The doctors that performed the exams were very professional and explained what they were doing. Dr. Djanbatian was very kind and you can tell he loves what he does. They have a large selection of frames. The gentleman who helped me pick out frames was great. I recently had my first visit to Brand Optometry and I have to say it was a great one! My 5 year old daughter and I were seen by Dr. Kochkarian and he was very friendly and patient. From the time we walked in we were greeted and everyone was so kind! Ani, Serly, Rimy and Talin also assisted us and they were all very helpful and friendly! Often times I've gone to doctors offices where people working seem so unhappy and treat their customers very poorly; this was definitely not the case here. Friendly and accommodating staff and amazing doctor. I love the doctor. He takes the time to talk to you. He listens. He's an amazing guy. The staff here are also great. I went in to look at frames while my husband was getting an exam and mentioned I needed and updated prescription. Someone at the front desk heard me and they fit me in to see the doctor. Then after my exam (which was great as mentioned) I was debating on getting new frames and one of the staff offered to try to fix the frames (that I didn't even buy there). It didn't even occur to me to ask them so they could have easily just pushed me to buy new frames. Instead they offered to help just to help. I couldn't be happier. read more

BAIT and SWITCH!!! I was charged for a contact lens exam and only came in to get my glasses exam which should have been covered 100% by my insurance. The lady on the phone was so rude when my wife called for an explanation. She then proceeded to tell my wife that we got a deal and that the insurance company would pay. Mt Doctor is cool and did his job but the office staff is so very rude. Well, bad customer service and frankly I don't appreciate being taken for a fool. Visited Brand Optometry for the 1st time today and saw Dr. Kochkarian, what an amazing experience. The staff in general were great. You never seem ignored they check up on you even when your waiting. Dr. Kochkarian took his time to do all the proper testing and explained the results. Never have i had a doctor spend that much time giving me my options. Over all and amazing and pleasant experience. Let me start off by saying I've been a loyal patient of Dr. D'Janbatian for the past 13 years. Even though the ladies at the front desk have always been rude and dismissive, I've gone back for the doctor. My last visit was a completely different story. The first issue arose out of my apparent "lack of insurance coverage." After a constant back and back dispute with the front desk, who claimed I had additional co-pay (despite the fact that my insurance company REPEATEDLY told me I was fully covered), I decided to just pay for the services myself and dispute the coverage later. Long story short, I only ended up getting a portion of my money back, but that isn't why I'm upset. My visit with Dr. D'Janbatian lasted all of five minutes. I had been seeing a different optometrist under insurance coverage I had with my university, and I told Dr. D'Janbatian the prescription I currently had, including the brand of contact lenses I was buying. He determined that my prescription had stayed the same and there were no changes necessary. OK fine I thought. Yet, I was a bit concerned since the university optometrist had told me I had astigmatism (a fact Dr. D'Janbatian failed to mention until I brought it up). Fast forward a few months later, and I have had to see another optometrist who has, in fact, determined my prescription is not the same at all. I find it highly improbable that my eyesight significantly diminished within a few months. So, not only did Dr. D'Janbatian charge my insurance company, collect the so-called "co-pay" I owed, but now I have had to spend additional out-of-pocket money to get a correct prescription. It has become evident that the motivation for monetary gains has completely overshadowed patient care for this facility. After 13 years, I will not return. read more

Had the most absolute best experience at Brand Optometry. I recently just moved into the area and needed to an annual eye check up. Dr. Djanbatian made me feel so special. I did not have a good experience at Brand optometry at all. The doctor Janbatian would not let me talk and listen to my concerns. I'm not even sure what he prescribed me. He seemed like he didn't care he just wants that money. If my prescription is not correct since he rushed through my exam I will file a complaint with my insurance company. Also the assistant who was checking my eyes did not walk me through the exam. I do not even know what kind of drops she put in my eyes but I am still seeing blurred vision. They also did not have enough selection of glasses. They gave me the cheapest brand and told me that its all my insurance covers and mind you my insurance is really good. Not going there again. I will find a good optometrist who listens and explains things well and who has a calm demeanor. Not worth my trip. Also there is a mean lady I think her name is Hilda and she's a mean manager. I think its his wife. She will talk over you and not let you say a word. No manners. read more
