Been going here for years for alignment because they are the only place that can take my lowered vehicle near by. Went in last week. Notice the price for alignment went up a little which was just fine. From $69 to $89 a year later. So when I went to pay the guy told me that my total was $145??? He told me that lowered vehicles take longer?? But it took no longer then 30 mins and then my car sat there for another 30 mins when it was done, I don't know why. Plus on top they did not even test drive it. Usually they do before they give me the car back. They need to be more specific on there prices. But I won't be coming back here. I went to Brakes Plus after going to the Pit Stop in Anthem. The Pit Stop quoted $799 with no guarantee to replace my brakes. I am happy to say that I got the entire job done at Brakes Plus for $199. I had the worst experience coming in today Friday November 26th. I did have an appointment for 10:00 I was a little late I even called the manager let him know I had a gas leak I fixed my issue got down there around 11:00 this morning and Dell with some rude general manager named Angel Leon.... If you want to call him a general manager very disrespectful very rude to customers he refused to work on my $50,000 hot rod it was just to tighten up a transmission clamp. Someone had erased my appointment that's why I called and said I would come in when I got my gas leak fixed I got down there around 11:00 and he told me to be a 3-hour wait now to get my car in and he disrespected my car saying that we normally don't work on hot rods. Who gives a shit what kind of car it is it's a car. I asked for the district manager's phone number and he refused to give it to me and started with his attitude and told me I'm not going to work on your car now. This person should not be a general manager should be a janitor. Low and behold I'm in the car business and I will not recommend anybody ever to come to brakes Plus on Happy valley Rd. Younger tall slender guy that was next to him was very professional and courteous but this Angel guy does not need to be a general manager of a facility like this I would have fired him right on the spot if he ever talk to a customer like he did with me. Women I would beware, my wife took my truck in for an oil change, she told them that was all she needed, she also told them it was my truck and she was a current cancer patient going thru Chemo and only wanted an oil change, as we have a regular mechanic that services our vehicles. So the tech calls my wife, tells her about some other work that needs to be done, she tells him we are already aware and our mechanic is taking care of it when we can afford the repair, as we are going thru cancer treatment along with Covid, funds were very tight. So she says no, just the oil change. Then she gets a 2nd call, where the tech tells my wife he wont be able to release her the truck unless the repair is done. My wife was convinced this was a reality and agreed to the work as she thought she had no choice. After the situation was explained to me I call and spoke to the manager, who at the time seemed very understanding, said he remembered my wife and she was going thru chemo, I explained that maybe there was some sort of miscommunication and were looking to figure out exactly what happened. The manager offered to pull the phone call"They are all recorded" Said he would listen to the call and call me back, I also told him I needed to hear the call, so I could decide for myself if the tech backed her in a corner or if it was just a misunderstanding. He agreed to get me the calls and resolve ASAP. So after not hearing back for 2 weeks, I called again and was told by the same manager that no, now I couldnt listen to the call and there was nothing he could do, think he thought we would just forget about it. Up until this point, these guys had been great to work with, but this ruined it for us and we will NEVER be back, gonna pursue some other action. read more

Brought my car in for tire rotation. I just had my car in at another shop down the street. They forgot to rotate my tires Anyhow. Brakes plus on Happy Valley. Found that my struts were shot. And a problem with front axle . I knew something was wrong as grease dripping from car into my garage floor . They showed me where the problems were took a photo from under my vehicle . No twisting of my arm. To fix. But I decided to fix car for safety reasons . Lana brought a nice chair out of her office for me to sit in while waiting as I am disabled . This was an old school exerience, first off, I'm a mechanic. within a year I've replaced every part in my front end. Except the upper control arms. So, I replaced them. I don't have an alignment rack,,, but who does. So I took it to brakes plus. I left and it was pulling to the right and the steering wheel is sitting to the left. I couldn't come right back,,, so,,,I came back about a week later. They put it on the rack,, drive it,. 40 mins go by. Subsequently they came back to me telling me that this and that part is loose and needs to be replaced. I just come in for an alignment!! Apparently this practice is still going on. Had some "brake work done" here came back to pick up my vehicle and felt the same problem immediately even after they took my car for a spin to see how the brakes were and I had to go to work so I came back another time to take another look at it. Got the work done again and didn't feel the problem also had a brake fluid flush and all that done. 3.5 STARS for the hard sell. Because I have an upcoming road trip and I heard a bit of squeaking on my front brakes I thought I'd check them out after reading all of the great reviews. There was no brake light on my car but thought it was a good idea to have them looked at. I called for a quote for front brakes and brake flush. My rear brakes were changed the year before with a brake flush so I wasn't sure if a brake flush would be necessary. Still to be on the safe side, getting my front brakes looked at was a priority so I scheduled the appointment. 2 days later I arrived for my appointment and waited in their lobby while they looked at my car. An hour and a half later they came back with 4 estimates... based on a "good, best, better, etc." They said I needed new brake pads, brake flush and rotors. 2 of the 4 estimates had pricing differences between the brake pads. Also, because of the the mileage they recommended a shock/strut replacement. So the other two estimates included the brake pads, flush, rotors, new struts and alignment. I wasn't experiencing bumpy rides or steering problems so I refused the strut service and to proceed with the brake pads, flush system and rotors only. I asked for a ride home while the car was being serviced. During the ride home, they did try to sell hard on the struts again because they were offering a good deal. Again, I said, thanks but no thanks. No other reviewers mention being offered multiple estimate pricing and the hard sell so it was a bit annoying. In addition, I had to ask the person helping me to provide the current thickness of my brake pads since the information was not provided to me initially. Overall, time will tell with the quality of the work but my car feels good. I've rounded up my 3.5 star review. read more

We actually didn't get any work done here, but the staff was super helpful. On our way back to Cali from Sedona, the high coolant temperature indicator started flashing in my semi-new Prius. We were in the middle of nowhere and in desperate need of some professional help. After driving a nerve-racking 15+ miles with the indicator light alternating between blinking and solid red, we reached the Phoenix city limits. As it was Saturday, many auto shops were closed and the nearest Toyota dealership was still miles away. Luckily, we pulled into this Brakes Plus where Ira took a look at our car- no wait time. Apparently, when we got our car serviced at our local dealership, the mechanic forgot to put on the radiator cap, resulting in the loss of coolant over time. Since my car was still under warranty, Ira suggested that we go to the closest Phoenix dealership, which was quite a ways away. He assured us that though our coolant level was low, it was enough to take us to the dealership, which it did. Aside from the great service, I was amazed at how spotlessly clean this place is. Bathrooms at auto shops are not known for cleanliness, but I was very impressed with this one. read more

if you are a women simply avoid this place at all costs. they will scam you to no end. i came in with an incorrect installation of my brake light switch and needed it just to be adjusted. i made sure to do my research and the fix would literally take 3 seconds to complete. however they quoted me nearly $200 for the labor and part. i went over to autozone and got the part instead and it was $20 so i thought the labor wouldn't be too costly, but brakes plus quoted me $90. absolutely ridiculous. i explained my situation to the autozone employees and they offered to just put the part in for free as they told me i was being scammed. i went back over to brakes plus and they wanted $80 for the labor of taking out the part. when i told them it was a scam, all the employee said was "well that's just business". i negotiated the price down to $40 just so i could have my car back. and i went over to autozone and they were super helpful and installed it super quick. a lot of the employees at autozone seem to have their own side businesses so i would suggest if you need a quick part or fix, take it to autozone. they'll help you so much more than the incredibly sleazy guys at brakes plus. read more

The staff are amazing and friendly and seem to take great pride in what they do and take care of every person I saw walk through the door. If I was rating based on customer service alone, I'd leave a 5-star review. Their customer service was outstanding. However, due to the dangerous situation they put me and other people in, I am obliged to give them only 1-star. Firstly, I waited 2 hours only to find out that they hadn't even started working on my brakes yet because a bigger lift is needed to lift my huge truck and it the lift needed to lift my massive truck was in use. After another hour, they came and told me they were going to start working on the truck. I waited another 2 HOURS for my truck to be finished, so literally 5 hours, FOR A BRAKE CHANGE. The truck needed more work so they drove me home, they drove me out of their way to my house, which was nice. They picked me up and brought me back to the shop because my truck "was ready". I waited ANOTHER HOUR before it was actually ready. All in all this particular visit FOR A BRAKE CHANGE took over 6 HOURS. You won't believe what happens next... That night, my brake peddle started "stuttering" and after coming to a complete stop the truck started rolling again. I pushed down on the brake peddle right away and it started braking, mostly, but I couldn't take it back that night because they were closed so I had to risk driving it anyways. The very next morning, my problems got worse I had to push the peddle down further and further until it inevitably needed to be pushed to the floorboards. Day 2 I take it back to Brakes Plus to determine what went wrong. They told me there was AIR IN THE BRAKE LINES!! They didn't tighten the bleed lines to prevent air from getting in. Likely because I was there the entire day and they closed up and walked me out after the truck so they were just not paying attention whilst fixing the brakes. My truck is MASSIVE and is a Ford F350 4x4 extended cab and extended bed (7800+ pounds worth of truck). It could've killed someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not double-checking the bleed lines before returning the truck to me is lazy and unprofessional AND DANGEROUS. You are a brakes store!! Your main service is fixing brakes, hence the word brakes being used in your business name. So they drained the brake fluid after I was forced to drive over 10 miles to their location, with malfunctioning brakes. I waited another hour and a half for them to fix their mistake. Although they fixed the main issue, I am still finding my brakes and brake peddle isn't the same as before. So I will have to return to them to get them fixed AGAIN which I am not happy at all about this. So it took me over 6 hours (as of yet) to get my brakes changed!! Not including all the time I spent traveling to and from there and waiting on them to finish working on it. Not to mention, my bill was over $1,300!!! For them to not do their job correctly. I will update this after I return to them. If you have any other options, I suggest you get your brakes worked on elsewhere. read more

Fantastic service. Great customer service. This has happened to me one other time in my life but they led me to the garage to physically show me what was needed on my car. That's basically unheard of with mechanics. Also I had this work done during pandemic, I went for a walk while waiting for my car. I got back over an hour later and was sitting outside. They came outside to say my car was ready. I hadn't even stepped in. When they came out they told me they warned the lady inside to not cough again. I've been here twice and juggling little kids and neither time did they say boo about a shuttle service. I only found out from the hold music when you call them. These guys watched me call Uber with these crazy kids and said nothing. Then when I asked about it he acted put out and I only live 2 miles away They kept my keys and I got home with nothing to get into my house while they worked on it and was grateful that the woman sent him back so I could get in and put the kids down for naps. It seriously saved my sanity after 3 hours of them going crazy. Other than that the other guy was irritated I wouldn't do the pricier brakes or other services he recommended. He just kept pushing and pushing. I dropped $400 on service and the car still rattles even though I told him of the issue from the beginning. In addition, one guy said they'd rotate the tires for free while the other tried charging me $10. I've only gone here because Discount Tire referred me and I won't be going back. read more

I've been there 3 times now. Twice for brakes. I thought they were outstanding. People are nice. So I went there for an oil change today. I've been going to my dealership but didn't want to drive across town and wait hours. BIG MISTAKE!!!! At my dealership, I've been paying $35 for an oil change the last three times I went to that particular dealership in Scottsdale. Another dealership charged me $51. This is for an oil change and car wash. So I go in today and ask for the $29.99 oil change. Apparently, I can't have that because my car only takes synthetic oil. I have paperwork from all my dealership visits and I've had both synthetic ($51) and standard oil ($35). They won't let me give you the standard oil I'm told so I go with the synthetic at $59.99 plus tax. But wait I have a $7 coupon so that will bring it down to $52.99 plus tax. So I go sit down and they were up front about running behind which I appreciated. Thinking about it I was about to get up and leave and ask for my car, but they'd already taken it back to the bay. They come out later and tell me all the problems I have wrong with my car. Yes, the air filters are dirty, but come on I'm in a hurry and it's not a critical fix today. But then I get my oil change bill. $61. That's right $61. I'm like it's 59.99 plus tax but I have a coupon. So they say with tax it's 68 and the $7 coupon brings it to $61. They charge the tax on the full amount and then take off the coupon. That seems really shady to me. It should be $7 off the service and add the taxes and fees to that. Regardless, I paid much more than I usually do at the dealership (and got less)!and was made to feel that if I drove the car away from the store, it will fall apart based on the fact I didn't do all of the recommended services. I'm highly disappointed and will be taking all of my future business elsewhere. read more

One of the best shops in North Phoenix , always same day service and no surprises when you come to pick up your vehicle and pay. I dropped my truck off there on a Saturday for oil change , fuel filters , tire rotation and had them check over everything for me before leaving town . There rates are better then anyone else and haven't had any issues yet .
