To be honest I don't think the mechanics are good at all. Took my car there told them the problem they ignored what I told them and said I needed internal engine work. Had the car towed elsewhere and it didn't need internal work it needed a belt which they failed to inspect after I told them it was the serpentine belt. Taking my car to breaks plus cost me a lot of time off work; like 2k. The repair could have been made that day. I do not recommend brakes plus. read more

Made an appointment for 11:30am for a stud replacement as Discount Tire now doesn't know how to remove lug nuts without breaking the studs off of each of your tires. Anyway, Discount tire sends me to Brakes Plus to get the studs replaced because they can break it, but they can't fix it. I arrive at 11:15am for my appointment, I am told it should be 20 to 30 minutes, which sounds great.....At 12:55pm they still haven't even looked at my car. I don't understand why you would take a reservation/appointment, then make the person that booked the appointment wait for over 90 minutes while you help other patrons. I now have nearly 4 hours of my life invested in a tire rotation, and still haven't received a tire rotation!! Terrible read more

sometimes life's lessons cost you and it cost me $380 find out that I should never bring a vehicle to this place. The other day while picking up the kids from school my engine overheated so I immediately checked my coolant and found I was bone dry. I looked around the reservoir to see if there was any noticeable leaking and found none and figured maybe I had just run out so I filled it and drove it home and when I popped the hood, it was empty again with no leaking around the coolant reservoir. I figured there must be an issue with a hose or more than likely the radiator because that's the most common issue but just to make sure I filled it again and again it bled right through with no leaking around the reservoir. I took it in and let them know it was likely a hose issue or the radiator and they said they would have it looked at. I got a call back stating that it was the coolant reservoir which shocked me because I found no issue with it. they said they could get it replaced for $380 and they would also do a stress test afterwards. I got a call back the next day stating that they replaced it and did a stress test and now there is a major crack in the radiator and that would now cost me over $1400. I told them no. I took $1000 out of my savings because I figured that's what the new radiator would cost and now I'm being quoted a cost that far exceeds that for something that never needed to be replaced in the first place. I told them I would come and pick up the vehicle and not to replace the radiator. I called back and asked where the coolant reservoir was leaking and they said that after doing the stress test, they found it was leaking a little bit. So in person they told me they would replace it and then do a stress test and then on the phone they told me they did a stress test and then replaced it. I wasn't born yesterday but today I was the fool. Do not bring your vehicle here if you want honest and reliable service and repair. I picked up my vehicle still with an empty reservoir because they did not make the necessary repair on the vehicle. The coolant reservoir and radiator don't crack on the same day at the same time and I never had any issues prior to this.. The radiator cracked and they tried and succeeded on up selling me on unneeded services before letting me know It was actually the issue that I brought it in for. There are several other shops across the street. You will likely have better luck going to them instead. read more

I am not one to write reviews or anything jeez this was horrible. I called to book an appointment for 8am since they told me 45 mins is all it would take and to give them a 5 star review to get free wipers after buying some wipers. Came at 8:01 today the manager checked me in and did nothing with my car it took a hour for my car to even get turned on and moved into the shop. Employees came at 8:05, 8:30, and 8:45 they all came and did absolutely nothing but talk. Extremely lazy and their "leadership" is the same manager did nothing for one hour no cars were being worked on for the first 55 minutes of them being open. This place doesn't even deserve 2.9 stars. Their reviews are fake bc of how low they used to be and have promotions inside the store if you give them a 5 star review you get free wipers. Oil change took 2 freaking hours and I didn't even get my extra pair of wipers. This is so annoying I am a collage student 19 and I shouldn't feel the need to comment on this horrible worth ethic and horrible business management. They shouldn't be open. Never going back and never going to recommend this shop to anyone. And the bathroom is disgusting trash in the trash cans when I walked in and "coffee machine has crust all over it. Was traveling Thanksgiving in Omaha Ne heard a noise stop at a Brake Plus 3907 N 90th St Omaha, NE 68134 They told us we need rear pad told us it would be $219.00 then thay told 1.5 later we need Brake Caliber then we were at $900.00 thay took me back to look at it. !st thing I noticed was one of the caliber was all ready pushed in the service advisor then grab A Vice Grip C clamp not a disc brake piston compressor tool. A vice grip c camp is some thing a back yard mechanic would use I all most walk out there and then but we were traveling back to Northern Mn I ask why there were replace the outer one it all ready push back he replied did know thay got it push back So then it was Down to 700.00 Thay started at 8.00 it was almost noon now We left and start back 8hr trip on the way home I notice the Brake were not right we got it home and drop off at My Mechanic to Brake Plus mess up he had to re flush the Brake He also Noticed there was Brake Fluid all over the under side of car and the engine bay but the master cly was full Told me the car was unsafe to drive and should not of left Brake Plus He was not impressed with Brake Plus work I paid $ 80.26 to get it fixed I called Brake Plus 3907 N 90th Omaha Ne his Name was Riley he was very rude and defensive told me he could not help me. So I set aside time for this appointment as I had to wait for them because I didn't have a ride in order to leave it. Went to Brake Plus on 08/14/2024 for a passenger's rear brake issues & they turned the drums. Returned on 08/26/2024 for a squeaking noise when stopping and Nathan replaced front axle bearings claiming that is what made the rear wheel noise. Car still made the noise and Manager Branddon heard the noise riding with me. Branddon left town and they had the car two days and did one test drive to find the noise and didn't and never inspected the rear brakes. I took the car from them, am denying payment for work that should have never been done and taking my car to my dealer, which I should have done in the first place. My mission will be to let as many people as possible I know about this injustice and filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

i am not from omaha so i came here as a recommendation for a cheap oil change. i made an appt at 3pm and went early as a first customer so sign in and was told it'll be an hour. an hour passed and they still didn't even start my car. they did not start until 4:45 and i didn't not leave until 5:30. when it came to checking out they didn't tell my they added more oil leading for the cost to be over $100 and my last straw was them asking for a good review. will not go back. read more

I am extremely upset with this place. I took my car for a break inspection to change my break pads and left with no working Ac. I only went for a simple break change and out of no where they called me to the back and said that my ac would no longer work. What I don't understand is what were they doing in my Ac? Breaks have nothing to do with the AC, please BreakPlus explain. Also I was quoted $306 to change the front pads then I quest some off the random fees they had on there and suddenly the estimate went down to $216. Really bad outcome here. Simple oil change that brought on a very bad leak. On our third return they claimed the car oil pan had been leaking and other seals on the power steering were bad. The coincidence is not believable by us or the other mechanics who have now looked. This car is garaged on a white epoxy floor. Never a drop in 14 years until they changed the oil. No evidence on any power steering fluid on the floor either. The manager then told my wife I was rude to him on the phone after he changed his story regarding why the oil pan seal went bad "naturally" right after the oil change. read more

Then he pull another car in the service stall that came after me. When I asked him about he said it was a mistake. He never tried to correct the mistake. Then he get upset with me because and quit the job. Next another supervisor tell me to leave because the employee quit. I don't get it the customers are bringing business not the employees.. This was the Brakes-Plus on 90th St. I was a little bummed with my experience this time around. The work provided was fine but I only had an oil change and it took over 3 hours. I had made an appointment for 10 am the day before but when I got there I was told they were running behind because of some complicated jobs they were currently working on. I was told 2 hours so I walked down to the library and returned after 2 hours. When I got there my car was in the garage and up on the list but I waited another hour before it was finished. And to top it off they didn't check my brakes for me even tho I asked them too. Maybe I just caught them on an unusually busy day. read more

I was leaving on a big trip and noticed my brakes were making a new kind of noise. My regular shop told me that I'd probably be needing to give them attention the next time in for an oil change but they were closed on Saturday and I was leaving on Sunday. So I took my car here and left it for them to check out - they called about an hour later and said the pads AND the rotors for all four wheels were in bad shape, needed replacement, and I was looking at nearly $700. NOT what I was expecting and didn't have the cash - they offered me credit, but I instead asked if I could get to my destination and back with what I had and come in the next week, and they said yes. I instead went to my usual shop (Exclusive Honda) this morning. The only thing they saw was pads for the front wheels and everything else was fine for the foreseeable future. About $170. To be honest I usually do my own car work, as I am very picky. I recently bought a used Saturn and took it to breaks plus for some work. I was very happy with the work I received. I knew that I needed new brakes and calipers, there was a problem with the exhaust, and overall the car had not had much care. I need them to look over the car because it had several problems. Joey the service manager, Me informed as well as brought me back and showed me what he found. The car was going to need a lot more work than I planned. I felt that they did a very good job. He showed me several safety problems, that were fairly easily fixed in labor but the parts would be difficult to get. They allowed me to go to you pull it and pull the parts I needed to keep my costs down. Overall I felt like I got my moneys worth. Patrick the mechanic did a very good job. I would definitely take my cars back to them again. While nobody likes to pay for car repair- I felt like they did a lot of work for the money. I was very happy with them. After years of being a loyal brakes plus customer, I show up to get an alignment and the guy at the counter asks why I am getting it aligned. I tell him I hit a curb and bent a tie rod. I replaced the tie rod and now need an alignment. He quickly informs me that for repairing my car I am going to have to pay an additional $33.00 making the usual $67 alignment cost $100.00. I am stuck as I made the appointment and do not want to continue driving an out of alignment vehicle ruining my tires. I am sorry to say that this will be my last visit to brakes plus. Just down the street at Firestone I can get a lifetime alignment for $150.00 with no penalty for installating worn/broken parts myself. If firestone could have gotten me in today I would be there now. read more

Had my brakes fixed today. Good work on new rotors, full fluid flush, new pads, and new bearing/hardware, etc. Even had an oil change done to top it all off. While this service was needed and done well, the time I was quoted was not exact, ended up having to wait about double what they said. Not as big of a deal as when starting my truck to pull in and pull out (both occasions), they turned the key too far and let it just sit and grind in the ignition for more than a few seconds. Additionally, the manager who backed my truck in and out jammed the gears making them grind multiple times. I had just had a new clutch assembly put in a couple weeks ago and it hadn't made any noises when shifted correctly. I asked him why it was grinding and he said it was messed up and that he drove manual stick shift every day. Clearly not, because when I got in and started it, I didn't let the ignition grind and my shift out of neutral and into gears was smooth and noiseless as a new clutch system should be. While I did appreciate their brake work, I did not appreciate their bad care for the other new componenents of my vehicle. And then to be told that something was wrong when it was negligent and quite possibly detrimental operator error. Their coffee pots were empty too during my longer than quoted wait. I called the day before to make an early (8am) appointment and Warren took my info and scheduled me for my brake job. (worn out pads) Being the eternal skeptic when it comes to car repairs, I arrived the next morning anticipating the upsell, cross sell, and every other sales pitch in the book. To my surprise, that never happened. When I arrived at 8am sharp, the garage was opening for business and the mechanic pulled my car in and began working on it right away. After about 45 minutes, Warren came over to me and showed me the final bill and informed me it ws just the rear brake pads that needed to be replaced and the rotors turned. He then proceeded to show me how much was remaining on my front wheels and how much time /miles I could anticipate on the front before they too would need to be replaced. (talk about great customer service.) With all the horror stories circulating on the internet, this experience was one I had to write about. Went here a few weeks back for oil change. It was done within about 30 minutes. Next day my oil light came on while on a Sunday of course. Called the location and was told to go to Brakes Plus on 120th on Monday and they said everything was ok. Oil light came on again, went back to 90th location that following weekend. They said it may be a sensor etc., Yet my oil light did not come on until they did my oil change....not trusting of this place. They did check my car again but was told oil sensor... Too much hassle. Took my newly acquired 2002 Acura RSX from a private owner in for a quick oil change. (First mistake right there....) I was told I needed brakes, front bushings, 2 motor mounts, brakes, shocks and struts. Total estimate: $1,734.23. I said no immediately as I usually take my Honda's and Acura's into Exclusive Auto in Midtown, Omaha for all repairs.I immediately called Exclusive Auto and they fit me in that afternoon. After a thorough inspection, they found that I was missing 2 motor mount bolts and I did not need brakes, front bushings, 2 motor mounts, brakes, shocks and struts. In fact brakes were 70% on the back and 60% in the front. Shocks and struts were intact and unaffected. Exclusive did not charge me anything at all. Savings: $1,734.23. OK first strike, took my car in due to a noise coming from my wheel like a whistling noise and had had some brake work done by them in the last several months. After they looked at it they told me that I needed to replace my front rotors and pads because that was the culprit more than likely and that I had several other things that needed to be replaced. I asked if the rotors could be turned and they said "No". Needless to say I ordered the rotors and pads and did the work myself for less that a third of the price they quoted me. But when I took off the rotor it looked brand new almost and same with the other side, so I took the rotors(that could not be turned) to a shop that does that and they said not only were they almost new but did not need to be turned. Now strike two, had my ABS light go on and stay on so I needed to have a scan tool to read which one it is, so I against better judgement took to brakes plus again and they immediately before testing or looking at the car started to tell me that is was a wheel bearing or hub......anyway after they checked it was indeed the right rear wheel speed sensor and they quoted me $334.06 to change it($255 for the part). I declined as it is a simple fix that I can do myself and I then asked how much do I owe for the check and the manager's attitude completely changed he told me $30ish and then proceeded to demean the previous work that had been done to my car. The OEM replacement part can be purchased at a retail store in town for a max price of $90 so WTF are they charging almost 2.5 times as much for that part?????? Bottom line I will never go to this chain again for anything. I also will never go to advanced auto parts aswell! read more

I went there a while back till my brakes inspected for whatever reason they chose not to inspect my brakes and told me everything was fine. I end up going to a different location and it needs new front calipers rotors and pads and new back rotors and pads. For whatever reason they didn't take me as a serious customer and I could've had very serious problems. I probably wouldn't have needed new rotors or calipers if I would've got an real brake inspection the first time. So these people are absolutely. Why is it in Omaha I've been unable to find a mechanic to work on any vehicle I own? Every vehicle I've owned the brakes have been sabotaged when I've paid full price by reputable shops and certified dealerships. This is about the third time I've had brake pads put on backwards. I've had brakes rebuilt about four times and they still need to be rebuilt what's up with that that was on a vehicle from Dillon Brothers Yamaha so why can't people in Omaha work on vehicle what is wrong with the people are they not hiring educated people are they all using meth? read more

So I came here out of desperation when my brakes started grinding and the store by my house was closed. THEY ARE AMAZING! I am used to getting cheated since I am a female car owner. They squeezed me in, showed me what was wrong, fixed it for wayyyyy under what I thought it would be, and showed me about a coupon they had going for oil changes. Rob, was so absolutely the nicest and most relatable and helpful man I have ever met. He also taught me about what I can do to prevent future problems with my brakes. Absolutely the best car repair shop I have ever been to! Will not go anywhere else! Didn't try to scam me into paying for unnecessary repairs, but also let me know other things that were wrong so I could be aware that I needed to come back in later for them.
