I have been coming here for years. Was out of town for about two years, but brought my car back for an oil change and a check on my brakes. I had an 8 am appointment and was there on time. After two hours they came out and told me a bunch of work I needed done. They said it would be a couple more hours to do the work. I said, I would need to come back for the brakes another time since I was waiting and I had a meeting to be at. (I also needed to pee so bad but their bathroom looked like it hadnt been cleaned in two months. Like frat boy status). I asked if they had done the oil change (what my appointement was originally for) and they said no. So I had been there two plus hours and they didnt even do what I came there to get done? Lame. I took it to the Brakes Plus on Leetsdale where they told me some of the work they quoted was not needed and they hadn;t added machining the roters to all of the brakes, which was a standard charge. They also hadnt added some other things. Ultimately a lame experience. I think this location has gone super downhill. Just walking into the cleanliness of the other location already made my experience better. Presentation says a lot. read more

Incompetent Brake Service and Dishonest Diagnosis I recently brought my vehicle to Brakes Plus for replacement of both brakes and rotors. Immediately after the service, I noticed a loud, distinct creaking sound that occurred only when the brake pedal was applied. Since this noise did not exist before their service, they advised me to drive it for 500 miles and if doesn't resolve to bring it back in. This is where the poor service turned into incompetence. I was told by the staff, "I guarantee if you replace the CV joint you won't hear the sound anymore." They insisted the noise was coming from my CV joint, even though I clearly explained the sound was exclusive to braking. I highly doubt they even test-drove the car, as the diagnosis was laughably inaccurate for a brake specialist. I declined the CV joint replacement. I took the vehicle to a different, competent shop for a second opinion. They immediately diagnosed the issue: Brakes Plus simply failed to properly set the new brakes and rotors. A quick adjustment was made, and the car now drives perfectly, with the creaking noise entirely gone. For a shop that literally specializes in brakes, their failure to correctly install the components, followed by an aggressive and incorrect diagnosis blaming an existing, unrelated mechanical part, is unacceptable. Their guarantee was misleading and dishonest. I will never return to this location and strongly recommend others look elsewhere. read more

! today when I returned due to a loading noise on the brakes, after waiting for one hour and 40 minutes, they showed me the brakes and rotor. I had paid around $400 two months ago for the front brakes, They insisted on changing the rear rotors, not just replacing the brakes, and they refused to address any concerns. and now they are pushing on another $400 for the rear axle. This seems unjust, especially considering that the rear rotors are in very good condition, unlike the front axle. It appears they are not honoring their guarantee or prioritizing customer loyalty. I used to be a satisfied customer and even recommended this location, but with the change in staff, I highly discourage others from patronizing this establishment. My partner brought my car in to have my brakes replaced. When she brought the car in it was not making any sounds, as I have ocd and I am very aware of any sounds my car makes. When she left with the new brakes on the car it was making banging sounds. I brought it back in today, and the mechanic on duty insisted that they "didn't do it", after I tried to talk to him and he cut me off. This experience has been awful. The brakes were replaced and feel good, however, the car is making banging sounds. I told the mechanic that the car was in good condition when it was brought in, and that the sounds only started immediately after the brakes were done. Not only didbthe car have horroble sounds after the brakes were done, but the guy in charge tried to be condescending, however, I have some knowledge of cars, and my car should not be making the noises that it is. Additionally, yesterday at 6:21, I called the location at (720) 524-0500 to verify that the car was making banging sounds. This was only a few hours after my partner brought the car home, and I live less than 2 miles from the store. After I insisted and got rude with the staff, they sai they would fix the Sway Bar, without any time estimate. This is unacceptable. There were also two other people in the lobby who had been waiting several hours already. I took my car to a better location, where they had more experience, and it turned out that the new brake pads at this location were the wrog shape and nothing else is wrong with my car. If you want excellent customer service and honest experienced mechanics, go see Ruben the manager at Brakes Plus on West Remington Place in Littleton, where they treat people kind, and know what they're doing! read more

I was recommended to Brakes plus on Evans ave. It took 3 hours for them to do an alignment. When I got the car back someone had been using my air conditioner. The setting were off what I had them set at. So the tech was using my car to cool his bay. I approached the manager, who said there was no manager, I explained the situation to him and he didn't care and ran away. I was not raising my voice but one of the techs swung his arm at me. Not to hit me just to scare me. I am 73 with a pacemaker. I will never return. read more

Took my 2019 Frontier to get an oil change. after waiting for while i finally got the car back and when I did there was new and unexpected issues. When I went to start it up it sounded like the fan was hitting something. I highly discourage using this place for any car needs. read more

I had just taken my car to a long time mechanic yesterday while they replaced parts but he was not able to do alignment so I took it here for that. After an hour and 15 min the mechanics told me I needed oil for the new parts and wanted to charge me $45 for the oil that takes 30 seconds. I called my mechanic to confirm he oiled it and he did, I told brakes plus to proceed without it and they refused unless I got the oil. Before I had even refused work they had removed my car out of the bay. It felt like they were trying to be intimidating. $45 may not seem like a lot but it's more that I can never trust this place and will not be back. Front desk was respectful. read more

I brought my car to get my oil changed. When I picked it up my check engine light was on, and my car was making a horrible noise and lost power. I let Breaks Plus know and took it back for them to look at it. They told me they had no Idea what was going on and I had to take it to another mechanic. I took it to another mechanic who informed me the car was started without oil and the engine would not be reliable in the future. Breaks Plus did everything they could to push the blame off on me and take no responsibility for anything. Breaks plus then sent me to their insurance company who did an investigation and again put all the responsibility back on me. Throughout this whole process neither Breaks Plus nor the insurance company would call me back. I was without a vehicle for 54 days. This was one of the worst experiences with a company I have ever had. As a consumer I would never use Breaks Plus. read more

Made an appointment on Weds for Friday first thing. Show up Friday first thing. They have no record for my appointment but they can do my rear brake pads and air conditioning. Call them at 4:30, " oh we're getting your Jeep up on the lift right now.". They call back at 5:30, "We had your Jeep up on the list but we had to take it down to do another customers. Can we keep you Jeep another day" Manager offered to discuss a discount once they had inspected the car. Sorry that ship sailed as did my business. This place sucks. read more

First Trip : got brake pads replaced. Second trip: Came back because brakes were shaking and grinding. Paid more money and got rotors replaced. Guy at the counter was rude by the way. Third Trip: Came back because brakes were shaking and got pads replaced. They didn't have record of my second visit until I brought it up, and they were about to charge me. Fourth Trip: Came back because brakes were still shaking. They told me there was nothing wrong with them. Guy at the counter proceeded to argue with me for ten minutes about this. This place is a joke. All in all, brakes are still shaking a year later. I hate driving my car now. Go to this place at your own risk. read more

Don't go here, ever! Scammers work here and take advantage of women (and probably some men as well). I am a mechanic and used to use them from time to time. I was out of town and asked my wife to have the rear brake inspected and repaired. They told her that the noise was a rusted, broken and hanging suspension links and quoted replacing sway bars and all the suspension links for almost $2000.00. I have photo proof of the suspension and it is perfect! I have also had the car inspected by a second shop and they confirmed nothing was wrong with the suspension. They are con artists and have attempted to committed a $2000.00 fraud against my wife. read more

I came in knowing that my front and rear brake pads needed to get replaced. I let them know there has been some squeaking coming from front breaks and to take a look and do a oil change. It took about 5 hours for them to do the oil change. I called back and they said my entire drive shaft and rotors needed to be replaced. That would be over 4K to fix everything. I laughed and told them I would come pick it up. They said they could hold it over night for me. No thanks. They definitely try to take advantage of people. As I walked in there was another person complaining of the same thing. My boyfriend looked at the drive shaft and rotors later that night. They do not need to be replaced. read more

STAY AWAY. If you have ever heard stories about mechanics who will charge you to change your blinker fluid, this is the place they were talking about. I saw more people get scammed from my 5 hour wait in their office today than you would see in a lifetime of back alley deals. I just came in to get my brake pads replaced and was told I needed to replace my rotors as well. After inspecting the rotors, they were in perfect condition. After getting that taken off and agreeing to just do the brake pads, I go to pay and found out the flushed my brake fluid (why?), put on premium pads, and resurfaced my rotors. Read the paper they give you carefully because what they say they are doing is about 1/10th of what they are going to do. Not a single person who came in during my 5 hour wait was told their brakes look good. Even worse, every single person was told they also needed the rotor replacement. They are scamming people and you don't want to be one of them. I learned my lesson and I just hope you all don't make the same mistake that I did. Go to an independent shop with local mechanics. Their online prices might look higher but they'll do the actual work you need and they'll do it well read more

I had an alignment done at this Brakes Plus. When it was finished, the steering wheel almost wouldn't turn. They said, "Just drive it around for a while and it will get better. If it doesn't, bring it back and we'll fix it." It was all very casual and friendly. Today, I brought it back, as it hasn't gotten any better in over 1,000 miles. They never made a note of it in their system, said there was no way they could have caused it, implied I was lying about it, and were absolutely not helpful at all in figuring out what happened. Horrible experience overall, as I now have to spend even more to have someone else figure out how they ruined my power steering. That's infuriating. read more

So I brought my 2003 BMW Z4 here after a horrific experience at another Brakes Plus location. I needed an alignment and a brake check. The person who answered the phone when I called was very knowledgeable and assured me he had a special tool required for adjusting the rear camber. I was skeptical, but turned out they really did have this tool and were able to complete the alignment for me - quite a step up from the other Brakes Plus I had just gone to. These guys really went above and beyond for me. I could tell they did a very thorough alignment on my car, and they also did a detailed brake check (I have a pretty good BS detector and it never went off my entire visit there). What these guys did that was truly above and beyond is I told them the story about the other Brakes Plus. They looked up what I told them in their computer and they decided to do the alignment for free. I even told them that was completely unnecessary but they insisted - very high integrity given it wasn't even their location that screwed up! The only complaint I could state is that I was there for about 3 hours even though I had an appointment and it should have taken 2 hours. But I feel that since they did such an in-depth job and went above and beyond that I cannot give them less than 5 stars, and I will definitely be going back! read more

I found out from a mechanic friend that rotors don't need to be replaced EVERY TIME you get your brake pads replaced. And the CV Axel they said was bad (another $800 charge) turned out to be fine when I had 2 other mechanics look at it. Don't waste your money here. read more

I hate leaving a bad review. my account shows I don't , but I feel I need too. I dropper my car off at Brakes Plus on Federal at 10am . I understood I was the 3rd in line for an oil change. Well they decided to keep my car all day and change the oil at the very last minute before they closed. I kept calling and they said if I don't like their service to not come back. Done. I am very disappointed with service I received at Brakes Plus in SE denver location. I new their prices where a bit high but they did not even tighten calipers on my sons SUV, after a complete brake job and disk replacements at $900... Nice guys, but shoddy job. Can't recommend. read more
