So I went to this place because they had great reviews. I had a brake fluid leak and and a problem with a grinding noise coming from my rear tire. After the free inspection they told me my wheel bearing was completely destroyed and needed to be replaced. I also needed a new spindle. They gave an estimate to repair the damages for $1520.78. My vehicle is an older vehicle 1996 Volkswagen Jetta. I felt this estimate to be ridiculously high. They also said it would take about 4 days to get all the parts. I called my other mechanic and had it towed to his shop because I didn't trust the estimate. He is fixing the damages for half the price $549.50 and my car will be done tomorrow. These are the facts of what happened. In conclusion: I give two star review, friendly staff, but they are ripping people of and charging you way to much for individual parts. For simple repairs and flat tires this place might be good. I don't recommend taking your vehicle here for major repairs because they will charge you more than your car is worth to fix it. read more

So I brought my 2003 BMW Z4 here after a horrific experience at another Brakes Plus location. I needed an alignment and a brake check. The person who answered the phone when I called was very knowledgeable and assured me he had a special tool required for adjusting the rear camber. I was skeptical, but turned out they really did have this tool and were able to complete the alignment for me - quite a step up from the other Brakes Plus I had just gone to. These guys really went above and beyond for me. I could tell they did a very thorough alignment on my car, and they also did a detailed brake check (I have a pretty good BS detector and it never went off my entire visit there). What these guys did that was truly above and beyond is I told them the story about the other Brakes Plus. They looked up what I told them in their computer and they decided to do the alignment for free. I even told them that was completely unnecessary but they insisted - very high integrity given it wasn't even their location that screwed up! The only complaint I could state is that I was there for about 3 hours even though I had an appointment and it should have taken 2 hours. But I feel that since they did such an in-depth job and went above and beyond that I cannot give them less than 5 stars, and I will definitely be going back! read more

I looooove my jeep, but I'm def not a car guy. I went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change, routine... Of course they came up with tons of 'recommendations". One of those quotes was for brake pads, fluid, and rotors. They quoted me $700. I don't have that kind of money to just throw around willy-nilly, but I'm a travel nurse so I need my jeep in good working order. I decided to make an appointment with brakes plus. They got me in within a couple hours of my request. They did all of the same quoted work in about an hour and a half and with about $400 savings. If you tell someone their car will take an hour after they have an appointment, then you should get their car done in an hour or less. Bad business to take walk ins before people with appointments, even worse when you have an attitude about it and then tell your appointed customer it's going to take an hour and a half longer after 2 hours of waiting (so a total of 3.5 hours so far, waiting as I write). This shop is a total hack. They told us that not only our brakes but rotors needed to be replaced. When we asked to see the examples of where the rotors were damaged enough to need replacement in person (we know what bad rotors look like), they tried to point out flaws on perfectly shiney rotors. We said no thank you, just break pads. They refused to even change the break pads because we declined the rotors. We took the car to a local shop in Denver following this incident, to actually be told not even our brakes were in bad enough shape to be replaced / rotors were perfect and we had at least 20k miles left. To blatantly lie to our face about the condition of the car when we confronted them on person and then refuse service when we questioned the entire replacement of parts is so bogus. I don't usually write bad reviews but I'm flabbergasted. I Scheduled an appointment at 9 am and dropped my car off for a simple brake inspection. The guy told me it would take two hours (or less because there weren't many people) so I dropped it off and when I came back two hours later I noticed my car hadn't moved. I needed to go to work so I walked in and was like what's good and they said they haven't gotten a chance to look at it. I asked why that was the case since I scheduled an appointment at 9 am and it is now close to 3 hours. This bitch looked at me and said "walk ins". Why on earth would your business allow appointments when you just take every walk in that comes in the door? I asked the lady if they prioritize walk ins over appointments and how that makes no logical sense and she said they are "the same". Then proceeds to ask me with a straight face if I want to reschedule my appointment. Ma'am you literally just told me a second ago that they are the same and in my case you prioritized walk ins over an appointment so why on Gods green beautiful earth would I reschedule it. I'm telling you common sense ain't so common anymore. I needed this inspection because I'm going on a road trip in a couple days and this is the only time I was available. The lady was like why are u in such a hurry I was like damn ho I have a life i don't just sit here hoping for the chance to get my car fixed? Honest and fair. Brought my car in for a "stripped" bolt/stud when trying to change out my wheels to winter set. They got me in same day, took a quick look, and within 30 minutes, changed out the problem wheel and cleaned out the bolt without charging a single penny. Awesome Customer service. I brought my car in yesterday for brake work. I also asked for my cabin filter to be replaced. When I got home I reviewed the bill in more detail and saw they replaced my air filter. I called today to verify which filter was replaced and explained the mix up. While my alignment was timely, I am incredibly disappointed in their lack of expertise and how they tried to take advantage of me financially. The technician told me my struts were leaking really badly and had to be replaced ASAP, saying it was "9/10 bad" and quoting a $1,000 cost. I took my car for a second opinion at a small local car shop with guys who have 15+ years experience, they took a closer look and explained there was no problem with my struts, and that there was road grime built up on the outside casing that someone with less experience could confuse for a leak. I've been using breaks plus at Evans/Colorado on and off for years. No more. Spent $400+ five months ago on rear break replacement. Front pads had 60% left. After the initial burn in time for new breaks, the breaks continued to squeak when coming to a stop. I took the car back in to be inspected and ask that the parts be checked. The breaks should not still be squeaking after 5 months. I still have 40% on front breaks. Their solution was to replace the rear breaks again, charging just for labor, and replace the front pads even though they have 40%. All for the low price of another $350. What a racket. They would not take responsibility for the breaks still squeaking and I was told that "sometime breaks squeak".?. This is 2010 Nissan Murano. The breaks have never consistently squeaked except when the parts were worn and right after they're replaced. I will be taking my car to a new break shop and checking the quality of the parts Breaks Plus put on. Buyers Beware! This shop's staff lacks integrity for their work. read more

Literally nothing but good things to say about these guys! A few weeks back, I noticed that I was having some trouble with my power steering and took my car to them to have the charging system checked. Came back as a bad battery! They replaced the battery and didn't charge me for the charging system check! Were super friendly and fit me in at the very end of their work day with smiles on their faces! Fast forward to last week... was driving home and noticed my battery light turned on! Took my car directly to them and had them check again... again, free of charge (customer service here is excellent, if you're not catching on) and they said it was my alternator, which is an expensive repair. Was told they could get the part in two hours and could have the car ready for me in three! For anyone who's ever had this type of repair done, you know that it can sometimes take days to order these parts for cars older than a couple of years. And they quoted me the lowest price of anywhere I called! I said let's do it! They gave me a ride home so I could put my groceries in my fridge and called me less 3 hours later to let me know the car was done! They did all of this without an appointment by squeezing me in! A Christmas miracle!!!! I have to give a shout out to Adam at this location. I got in my car about 12:30 today to start my holiday activities. My car was dead would not start. I called Adam and he asked what noise the engine was making. As we both suspected it was hopefully just a dead battery. I explained that I have a friend coming to give me a jump. He shared bring it on by and we will see what we can. He shared that if he could not get to it today (Christmas Eve), they would get to it first thing on Saturday. I dropped my car off about 1:00 and went to lunch with my friend. When I arrived just after 2:00 he told me that my care was ready to go. Now I won't be stranded over the holiday weekend. Even the mighty can stumble. This place is generally great. Kent, the manager is a sharp dude who keeps things moving with good humor. Having said that, I must advise: ALWAYS SEEK A SECOND OPINION. I had a headlight bulb replaced by them. It burned out again in about 3 months (that's OK, sh*t happens). I went back to them and was told the entire headlight assembly was damaged---partially melted---caput. They could fix it for $518. I went to a mechanic I trusted more (I didn't go to him first because I thought it was only a bulb replacement) and he quoted $235 for the job. When he started the work he discovered that the assembly was a little damaged FROM AN IMPROPERLY INSTALLED BULB, but was still in working condition. My total cost was around $35. I suggest that, in spite of all the good vibes and jolly good cheer, etc, you avoid this place. read more

1. Changed my appointment without telling me. Thankfully, I was flexible. 2. Had a coolant flush. Four days later, I was broken down on the side of the road because my car- which has never overheated- overheated. Turns out, there was air in the line. 3. Spent 300 dollars doing preventative maintenance at this location. One thing was the oil change. They did everything else BUT the oil change! Literally must have forgot to do the oil change. How do I know? My maintenance light came on and when I went under the hood to check, the same oil filter was on the car (that I put on it) and the oil was black. Mark, the new manager, has been a pleasure to work with. I went there with squeaky brakes and left happy! I needed new front rotors and pads, an oil change, brake flush and rear brake adjustment. Price- I had a $10 off coupon, which he bumped up to $20 and warranty on the pads. I had to come back the next morning, which I was initially really upset about, but it turns out when they aligned the back brakes, the drums were shot and were rubbing (?) thus making a sound. Two months after buying a used car the brakes started squeaking, so I decided to get them looked at. Although this Brakes Plus location is not the closest to where I live, I chose this one after reading positive reviews on Yelp, and I was not disappointed. They showed me the problems with my car up in the air and the wheels off: I needed new front rotors, and new pads in the front and back. I had to bring my car back in a few times to get the new brakes just right, but they were very accommodating and paid for a rental car when needed. Excellent customer service, and they stood behind their work. Managers Ernie and Kent oversaw my brakes job, and they were great. I highly recommend this shop. read more
