I don't usually do this unless I have a very bad experience.... Because of a mistake that a previous employee made, we ended up having to spend almost $500 instead of just brake pads with your lifetime guaranteed brake pad we bought a couple years ago. The manager gave me $50 off and offered a free oil change. To make up for the $400 mistake of a previous employee... basically, the previous employee didn't check the rear brakes when we took it in due to a brake squeak problem... which caused us to have to get new rotors 3 months later. Called corporate, but that didn't seem to help very much.. they used to be an awesome company and we have spent thousands with them over the years. Very frustrating and I won't back there. ****UPDATE***** SO I FINALLY MADE IT TO THE SHOP SO THEY COULD FIX WHAT THE MESSED UP AND THEY MADE IT WORSE. LEAVING MY STABILITY CONTROL DASH BOARD LIGHT ON. Currently waiting on a response from corporate. STAY AWAY!! STAY AWAY!! THEY'RE WORK WILL LEAVE YOU STRANDED. The reps are nice and sweet, until it's time to own up to their mistakes. Picked my car up after taking it in for a bent tire stud fixed and lost all air in my tire due to tech messing up my air valve. After inspecting wheel, the air valve was loose and air seeped all out. I attempted to air my tire up and the air valve was not working. I had to get road side to help switching the tires out and they could not help due to wheel stud being stripped!!! I called breaks plus for assistance with a tow truck since I was ACTIVELY STRANDED and was met with resistance from manager, Brock. I WAS LEFT STRANDED with a bad wheel and Breaks Plus would not take responsibility for. Not to mention my vehicle pulls to the side and the steering wheel is off centered after my car left this shop. Once again, BROCK was resistant to fix. Finally made it to the shop and there were 3 other customers dealing with issues from work preformed at this Breaks Plus. Stay away! read more

They don't deserve a star. Adam, Angelo, Mike and the whole staff are all full of shit. I paid $700ish for all new pads and rotors. I had to go back two weeks later because my brakes were making a LOUD Screeching noise every time I made a turn. So I take it back and ADAM which they tell me they "forgot" to put the pin on my front brakes. How???? Then Adam tells me they are just going to redo the front whole end? That shit should have been done the first time. Then A few more weeks later I had to take my car back again because my back brakes are still making noise. I drop it off and get a phone call saying "we don't hear anything" as if I'm lying about what I hear about my own car. So here it is 11/11/21 and my car sounds horrible, STAY AWAY FROM THEM. Took my car in for service to have oil pan gasket and transmission gasket repaired. No one there was qualified to do the work. So they sent it to another one of their shops to repair. Got my car back two days later and trans started slipping. I thought transmission oil needed to be flush. so I did that. That lasted a week and started slipping again. I noticed oil and transmission oil was leaking. I am a senior and it took me a while to saved to get it done. I'm leery of taking it back even though I have a one year warranty on it. I don't want them messing with it unless they can guarantee me it will get fixed right. I can't find corporates number. Can someone help? read more

My husband took his 1980's Chevy pick up truck there for an alignment. Mind you we have taken other older vehicles there without issue. This has been a few years and apparently their level of service for non standard vehicles has changed. They Tried to tell us they would need several hours and multiple alignment kits to repair a dusty and dirty older truck and it would cost us $550 to have this done. When we asked what the difference was between our other even older vehicle and this one they could only say it was really dirty and dusty. Even at a high repair cost $550 is a bit excessive. We got a recommendation for another alignment shop only 15 minutes away in plano. Not only is the vehicle completely updated in under 2 hours, they didn't even need the kits the brakes plus was saying they needed to update the alignment. I intentionally had Brake Plus check my engine light. Although, I knew all the codes. All brakes, A/C etc was free. But I notice they size their customers ups. Let me get a check to see if I get the same codes. They came back with one code when there were 2. They did not provide a complete check as I paid for. Therefore, I could not use their services on the grounds of inconsistency and untruths. Auto work is very expensive. The last thing you want are people working on your cars, and their only interest is money. Therefore, they lost my business as an insurance carrier and cash. So upon arrival I had already had a few inspections done but I had t told them that. Trish assisted me on an inspection and once completed she shows me the wear on my brake pads. Rear is getting close to needing replacement which I already knew but she says my front could use replacement as well. Mind you only 30 percent of my front pads have been used which means I have 70 percent usage of my front pads. So we go into office and she proceeded to show me quote. So for my rear brakes she quotes over $500! I said that's crazy, that's more than dealership! She dates but are they replacing your rotors? I looked at her dead in her face and said my rotors don't need to be replaced! I immediately told her to assemble my vehicle back together and that quote alone lets me know they're dishonest. I don't know if she thought I was a Women I wouldn't know what I was doing but she better get it together. read more

The mechanics here are very good and professional, but after three visits I am convinced that the desk folks don't actually give a flip. One attendant said he's eating lunch and he's too busy and the other is goofing off in the garage. One customer actually left because nobody was at the front desk after waiting for 10 minutes. The place had 1 car in the repair bay. I came in for an inspection. They found excuses to fail it. It never had any problems before. Then after they decided to fail it I asked for my keys back. They refused and held me hostage nearly an hour after they had decided my car was not good enough claiming the need to "document" it. They failed my car and still made me pay them after wasting more than an hour of my time. This is not my first bad experience with these crooks. They play a smooth talking game but do not be fooled, these are "men" who prey on the needy. May God deal with them justly. read more

I took my Saturn vue 09 to change the brakes on Friday and they delivered it to me on Saturday they supposedly called me it's false I showed them my cell phone they didn't call on Tuesday 4/4 I realized that the cargo door is not right it should stay up but it didn't I made the observation and they told me that they had not touched it, that is, it broke on its own, on Friday it was fine, they are not going to pay, but they are waiting to check your vehicle from top to bottom read more

Dave was helpful at first when I told him I wanted only an alignment. I left my car there and three hours later received a call being told that my car had "safety" issues that needed work as well. I told him to email me a break down of what needs to be done with an estimate and I'll let him know before moving forward with said issues. Received email in timely manner but was quoted well over $1k worth of work where literally almost half of it was cost of labor- wtf, all I wanted was an alignment. Called him back and let him know my finances won't allow me to spend that much today but I still want the alignment and to let me know when my alignment is finished to come pick it up, he quickly and rudely said, "it's ready." I return to the shop for my car and no alignment was done on my car because I didn't proceed to with the $1k worth of work. I asked Troy why they didn't do the alignment and was told they didn't do it because my car had "loose bolts" in the front. Asked why I was led to believe it was done while over the phone- no apologies, just a shrug. They did not make it clear over the phone that they couldn't work on my alignment due to said "safety" issues. I took off work and drove across town to only waste my time at this establishment. No apologies or anything from them for the miscommunication- just judgement from both gentlemen. It's one thing if the cost was out of my budget- they could have at least worked with me and see if I could afford to get one job done because I don't mind paying a couple hundred to get my car fixed and coming back again after payday for another job. I went here after getting a quote form NB which I was a little suspicious about. My brakes were "pulsating" which probably meant the rotors needed resurfaced. However the first quote form them sad I needed new rotors and a bunch of other stuff. The quote was just over $400.00. I decided to check out Brakes Plus and am I glad I did. Jeramie, the Service Advisor new exactly what was needed after a short inspection and test drive. He said they can turn the rotors and I decided to get an alignment done at the same time. I came in to find out how much an oil change & tire rotation would cost since I was in the area visiting the grandparents. There was a KwikKar next door but since the prices were ridiculously outrageous, I thought I'd give Brakes Plus a try. The store was running a special for what I needed, so I thought, "Hey, why not?" Well I soon got the answers.. this is why not: 1. I dropped off my car and came back a couple of hours later, and in the 20 minute time-span that I spent waiting to get my car, I noticed 3 customers who checked out and had to ask the attendant for their car keys back. The attendants acted surprised each time and said, "Oh. We didn't give it back to you already?" After I checked out and was ready to go, I also had to ask the attendant for my car keys, and once again, the guy acted surprised that I didn't already have my keys. 2. When I came in to pick up my car after it had been serviced, an attendant talked to me for forever about all the "things I needed to fix on my car." RIGHT. 3. My driver's side windows roll down.. however they take a very long time to roll up. When I went to pick up my car, it was outside under no roof, my window was rolled down, AND it had started raining. I couldn't believe they didn't put up my window and didn't even bother to keep my car under a roofed area! 4. I got home and noticed that my tire wasn't aired up. I checked all four tires and HEY, none of them were aired up-- I question if Brakes Plus even rotated my tires like they were supposed to. 5. As I checked my tires to see if they were aired up, I noticed a hubcap missing. Seriously? 6. Brakes Plus was closed for the remainder of Saturday, and all of Sunday, so I called to speak to the manager on that Monday morning. I told him about my terrible experience, he apologized once, and offered to pay for a new hubcap for me. THEN he called back within minutes to tell me that my hubcap should be in my trunk, and that it was noted in the paperwork as being "loose". In the 15 minutes that I stood there listening to an attendant and a manager ramble on-and-on about what I needed to get "fixed" on my car, they never once bothered to tell me that my hubcap was in the trunk (which it actually ended up not being) SO I called the corporate headquarters and FINALLY was serviced at the Brakes Plus in Lewisville! read more

My husband and I went in for an alignment at the recommendation of a well known tire shop we frequent. Upon arrival one of the mechanics was at the counter; turned to walk away and went outside to lean up against the buliding. The first night we went in it was 5:40PM and the manager told us to come back the next day. Okay,understandable. They close at 6:00PM. Before leaving my husband advised the manager he gets off work at 430PM and further inquired what time would be need to arrive the next evening. The manager said before 5:00PM and there would be no problem. My husband and I arrived at 4:45PM the next evening. There were two mechanics outside shooting the breeze and again noone available to greet us at the counter. Someone finally came to the counter asked what we needed and then asked if we were dropping the car off. My husband asked how long and the manned laughed and said he won't start work until 8:00AM because he was busy. He then asked "What you wanna do?!" I am terribly frustrated with Brakes Plus. Not only did they try to sell me things that I didn't need for my truck, but they completely botched a simple brake job. They put two inner brake pads on one side of my vehicle and two outer brake pads on the other side of my vehicle. Not only was this terribly unsafe, but this also cause the pads to eat into my rotors and caused me to replace my brakes and rotors well before I needed to AGAIN. I will never return to Brakes Plus again and I strongly urge any future customers to consider the same. They obviously don't know how to do what they advertise. read more
