Danny's Import Services has rescued me AGAIN!! I'm so grateful to have a regular mechanic for my Honda CR-V. The mechanics at Danny's Import Services on Main Street in Lewisville, Texas really know all about the Honda vehicles. I went one block from my office in Castle Hills just to get a new battery put in my car. I hadn't changed the battery in 5 years, and I knew it was coming due because it was not starting right up like it usually would do. I wanted to be proactive, rather than be stranded and needing a jump start. The personnel at Brakes Plus for their lack of knowledge concerning Honda vehicles told me and tried to sell me a new alternator which is a high dollar item. They even went as far as they could to call me back into the garage and show me a meter reading that indicated my alternator was not working properly. Long story short, I decline the new alternator and the salesman at Brakes Plus told me to call him when I became stranded in my car. Nice job with the scare tactic. I then called and went by regular mechanics at Danny's Import Services who explained things very well to me and completed a meter reading and found there was absolutely NOTHING wrong with my alternator! You must fully understand how import, fuel-efficient vehicles work to explain things so well. As they did for me. Something that I thought I could accomplish quickly, in a short amount of time close to my office turned into an all-afternoon ordeal and unexpectedly loss of time on the clock with my job. Ladies, be sure you have a regular mechanic who knows your vehicle. If you have a Honda model I whole heartly recommend Danny's Import Service in Lewisville. They are very good and honest with all that they do. They are much more affordable than taking your car to the Honda Dealership. They saved me over $1,000.00, and replacing an alternator which was NOT required. Due to this issue, I will NOT be going back to Brakes Plus for any reason in the future. read more

Took my 2019 Honda CRV In because my A/C wasn't working. After checking it out I was told the discharge hose was leaking and it would be $800 to fix if they could get the part. Nathan said why don't you take it to a dealership to see if they'll cover it. He called someone he knew at Denton Honda and even though it was 5 months out of warranty they fixed it for free and replaced the compressor. What an honest and helpful business! While looking into mechanic shops that specialize in Hondas we came across Danny's Import Service here on Yelp. My van is almost 7 years old and we had noticed an annoying noise that happened only when taking a tight turn. Figuring it was probably a CV joint we knew it was something that could potentially be dangerous if ignored. We ended up dropping the van off a bit earlier than scheduled. Around mid-afternoon I called to check on the status of repairs. Danny answered and then put his mechanic on the phone to talk to me. He explained to me that the noise was gone and he believes it came from the tilt wheel not being fully locked into place. When I went to pick up my van they did NOT charge me a penny. This place had every opportunity to take advantage of the situation by charging me for an unnecessary repair but they did not do so. They have made me a customer for life!! read more

I live in Plano and drive all the way to Lewisville to have my car serviced here. I started coming here a while back after I took my Accord to two Honda dealers to troubleshoot a noise it was making. Both of them were suggesting several thousand dollars in repairs to my 10 year old car. I was seriously about to sell my car and was very depressed about it. Thank goodness a friend of mine recommended Danny's Import Service. What a world of difference these guys are. They repaired my car for a fraction of what the dealers had recommended. I'll never be back to those places if I can help it. At Danny's, they are honest, polite, intelligent, and competent. They are not fancy, they won't give you free wifi and bottled water and big screen TVs to watch news on. HOWEVER they will FIX your car for a FAIR price and in a timely manner and only do work that your car NEEDS. They will not upsell you or overcharge you EVER. By the way they use high-quality parts from the same manufacturer that supplies Honda. They do not use cheap imitation parts like some other places do. One caveat about this place is that they will not mess with your tires. They just don't have room for the tire equipment in their little shop so that's where they draw the line on what they can and cannot do. Took my Accord in to catch up on some maintenance items. Did timing belt pkg (w water pump, coolant, serpentine, tensioners). Also did new spark plugs, ATF, new brake pads. While doing the work, mechanic noted that the oil pump seal was leaking and that they would recommend doing it as well while they were in there. The price they charged was very reasonable compared to what most other shops would have charged. I have been to a lot of shops in my years and I found the guys at Danny's to be top notch. They only work on Honda/Acura so they know what they are doing. And in my experience I have found them to be very straightforward and honest (hard to find these days). We used Danny's a number of times when we owned a civic. It was always a great experience. One time we came with a list of things the dealer had done and wanted to to do. After dropping it off they gave us a call and said that not only do some things not need to be done, but there were a few things the dealer said they did, but they didn't actually do. Danny's charged us less than half what the dealer quoted for the tings that needed to be done AND fixed the things the dealer didn't actually do. Fast forward 5+ years and we took our Acura in.....we were told we needed a new rack and pinon, by a shop that we have had great experience with for years, however they typically do smaller jobs like oil, breaks, and alignments....shortly after dropping off our Acura with Danny's we got a phone call and they told us that we did not need a new rack and pinon, that in fact our power steering pump was not put on correctly (it had been replaced in Aug, by the small shop I mentioned before). He said it would be $39, and it was ready to go. Replacing the rack and pinon was going to cost $1,100+!! These guys are great, and honest which is truly what we want with a mechanic! It isn't too close for us, but it is well worth it to be confident in any work we need done! read more

BEST Honda Hospital in North Texas! Took my ride into Danny's a few months ago for an issue I thought I was having with my front axle. One of his crew checked it out and diagnosed it be a tire problem instead and recommended I get new tires which turned out to be the right call. Car ran beautifully after that. Then last week I had a legit problem and took it straight in to Danny's. Price quoted was very reasonable and they got the job done far earlier than the time quoted. Danny is the man!!! My 2009 Honda Civic would not start after jumper cables got crossed while attempting to charge a dead battery. On a recommendation from a random stranger I had the car towed over to Danny's Import around 10am. By 11:30 I got a call that it was only a blown fuse and that the charge would be 26$!!! WHAT?!?
