These guys will rip you off. We brought my girlfriend's car into this place to have the A/C checked out since it was blowing warm air. They charged $80 to recharge the system and add UV dye to aid with finding any leaks. There was no improvement. Suspicious, we took the car to another shop that came highly recommended by friends and had the A/C checked. This mechanic easily found and fixed the slow refrigerant leak in the system and filled it up. There was no uv dye in the system or any sign it had ever been added. Brake Masters charged us for work they didn't do and lied right to my face. When confronted with this they offered us a free oil change. Why would I think they would bother to complete that with any more integrity than they did the A/C repair? Don't take your car here. read more

The service was terrible when I went. I took my car at 8 AM and they said it would be 45 minutes. I walked to Starbucks across the street and waited for an hour. When I came back they hadn't even gotten to my car and had put other people in front of me. Three times I have just stopped in to get my oil changed and every time I was met warmly and felt appreciated and valued as a customer. The service has been quick and reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to reccommend the Brake Masters location. read more

While they were busy and had a three hour wait on oil changes, I felt that the salesman was doing too hard of a sell to bring me back into the store later that afternoon (he wanted to put me on a form and then call me back in when my name came up). Why would I do that when I can go somewhere else and get faster service? The fact that the salesman kept asking me if he could add me to the pile of oil changes to be done after 3 hours was pushy and annoying. read more

I had some reservations going to a chain brake shop, but these guys were very good. They changed my brakes quickly for the quoted price, and did not try to hard sell me anything. They did find another possible issue and said that I should keep my eye on it, and if in a few months it became an issue they would match any competitor prices to fix it. Daniel seems like a very honest and trustworthy person. I will return if I need any other work that they do. read more

I have to say this brake masters is one of the best mechanic shops I have been to in Arizona. They have worked on three of my vehicles one of which...the most recent is a problem vehicle. I brought the vehicle in with the main compliant being, the car started to shake over 40 mph. First off most mechanics would have taken me for a ride replacing a myriad of unnecessary items. They gave me the honest truth and told me I needed new tires, which they don't even sell. I had them fix a few other issues including AC which the part was discontinued and an employee went out to local junk yards and dug through vehicles in the yard and quickly found the part within an hour or so. I got the new tires off site and returned for alignment which they knocked half off the price with a coupon...also something they didn't need to tell me about. Upon completing the work a fuel line was leaking...that was not leaking when the car was brought in. The mechanic honestly told me he may have bumped it when installing another part..granted my vehicle is old as hell and it very well could have been loose but they worked on replacing it and comped the cost. They are very good people. Daniel and Enrique worked with me in the office and are some of the nicest most professional people in the auto industry. The mechanics are also top notch and work hard to make sure the work performed is at the highest standard. This place knows how to operate. They don't nickle and dime you and treat you with respect as they know you as a customer will return and tell your family and friends. Another reason I use this location is the car care one credit card they offer...6 months no interest is a lot easy to pay off than dropping all the money at once. I have been here several times and I rarely review places...I really felt this store deserved an at-a- boy pack on the back for the outstanding A+ service I received. Will definitely be returning to and recommending this shop to my family and friends. read more

Went in for a brake job on a 1 ton service van, I left it there all day. They told me it needed a brake fluid flush and I said go ahead and do it. When I went at the end of the day to pick it up it was sitting out in the lot and both front hub caps were laying in pieces on the ground. The flush was not done, they said they ran out of time and I could bring it back another day and they would get it in and out quick. As far as the hub caps they had no idea what happened to them, maybe someone ran into them, or maybe the sun cracked them and they fell off. I chalked it up to them being 10 years old and told them to throw them away. As soon as I drove away I noticed by all the streaks they had tried to wash the windshield. I realized that whoever washed the windshield just stood up on the wheels to reach, which explained the broken hub caps. Oh well I didn't have time to go back and argue. Several weeks later I returned in the afternoon to tell them I would bring it in first thing in the morning for the brake flush, the guy said no problem we'll get you in and out. Fine, next morning I am there when they open, tell them why I am there. I go sit down and the shop guy comes in to tell me every bay is full from the day before and it will be a while. At this point my patience finally ran out and I stood up and began to explain in a not so happy way how they had promised me this would be quick and I specifically arranged it with the afternoon guy because I needed that van on the job. The shop guy said no one told him, then another guy behind the counter who had no clue about the whole mess jumped in and snapped at me "what do you think we can just empty out the bays for you?" or something to that effect, very nasty and non-professional. I've debated for a long time about this, I have never had to write a bad review but the nastiness of that one employee still bothers me. I could deal with all the other issues except that, never been treated like that at a business. I have since found another shop. read more

Still fairly new in Tucson I found out about this place when friends were towing a trailer through town the the brakes went out -- five minutes before the place closed. The kept the stop open for HOURS past closing time -- for customers they didn't know and would probably never see again! I was impressed, went here for my brakes, then started going for all of my service. They're always honest; they'll do things like checking fluids or belts and tell me everything is good: no charge! If I forget one of the coupons they always have on their website, they typically give me the price anyway. It's a good idea to either show up ten minutes before they open, or make a reservation, because they're busy,. My only small gripe is that the shop is a bit worn around the edges... but the staff make up for it with their courtesy and proressionalism. Oh, and free, strong, fast WiFi. read more

Went in thinking I needed brake pads and being a woman and from out of town - I expected to be upsold on all kinds of things my car with 94,000 miles "needed." However, I was thrilled to see them take all four wheels off to inspect the brakes and then report that I had only used 80% of the life of my brakes. They didn't charge a thing and they didn't try to sell me anything else!! I appreciated that!! read more

After waiting over an hour to get an oil change, I thought my car was done and I find out they had not even started on it. What's bad is that for the past 10 minutes the manager and mechanic who worked on my car were looking at pictures or whatever on their cell phones and laughing while the customers just sit there. My car was back in 14 minutes. How do you do a 21 point inspection, change the oil, and change the engine filter in 14 minutes? I've been to other brake masters and it takes them more than 30 minutes. read more
