I hate to do this but this is the second time this shop has let me down with a simple oil change. I made an appointment online last week and then a little while later received an email say there was something wrong with my appointment, and they would contact me. No one ever called, text, or emailed me to reschedule. I called back the morning of my appointment and was put on hold for over 5 minutes. I called back and he tried to put me on hold again. I understand you can be busy, but I just needed to know what was going on with my appointment. He stated that he had a customer and was busy, and my appointment was probably canceled, but that was enough for me. The first incident was last year for my oil change and tire rotation they did my oil change and called to ask me if I want new air filters, but when I went to get my car they said they could not unlock my tires for the rotation. I asked why they didn't ask me about that on the call to up-sale me and I could have told them it was in with the spare tire. So yeah unfortunately I am done with this shop, sorry. read more

Pulled in at 10:30 and left at approximately 2:00 Upfront staff was neither friendly nor professional. At checkout staff over charged and did not credit the initial deposit. To make up for this they offered an oil change comp. Don't have time for an oil change from them. 3% additional fee on credit cards. Blake was extremely helpful today - I came in for quick idiot light check code and at same time, had oil checked as courtesy. No issues with idiot light (other than resetting maintenance date), but did find I was bone dry (extreme minimum) for oil. Imagine my surprise, as a well-known auto dealer had recently serviced my vehicle under warranty! Blake was kind enough to top me off to ensure my engine doesn't seize, and if it wasn't for the fact that I have to return to the dealer to get this issue resolved, Big O Tires would be my #1 place to get service (I've had other services done here with optimal results!) I have attached my previous review from one month ago. It details my experience, most notable was the very long wait time. Since my alignment and replacement steering components, I upgraded my suspension and had another alignment by a professional alignment shop. When I was initially shown the slop in my steering rack and told that I needed $1700 worth of front end work, I agreed to it because I knew no better, and insurance was covering it. Big O knew better. They knew none of this was necessary. They took advantage of me, and my insurance company. My alignment shop showed me that slop is inherent to the Toyota Tacoma design. It is completely normal. And, when I described the minor accident that had resulted in the damage, the alignment shop told me that it would be nearly impossible to do that type of damage , given the circumstances. So, not only poor turnaround time, but unethical business practices as well. Too many options in town for me to ever go back or recommend Big O Tires to anyone. read more

Long time customer (lived in area now for 8 years) and always considered shop as 5 stars and would recommend to others until now. Over the past 8-12 months have experienced numerous inconvenience/ nagging issues to the point where I can no longer support this business. The positives: I mostly went for oil changes but also had tires and brakes installed on two, three other vehicles. Prices were always fair and worked completed when promised. Pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Negatives: over the past few months: On line appointments are un-reliable. You set "on line"appointment only to get a call back to change due their system doesn't keep up with actual appointments made in person or by phone. Shop managers then realize they can't perform "double booked" work. Last few oil changes on three different vehicles led to "oil leak" drops on the driveway or garage floor the very next morning. I returned to the shop to get checked out and rectified quickly but was told the technician either didn't tighten the filter properly leading to the leak OR in once case that the technician installed the wrong filter as there were two different filters (OEM vs Generic?) that could be used. Of course, the wrong one was used. On another vehicle I needed a brake Inspection and vehicle had wheel locks and I provided the lock "key". Unfortunately after removing three wheels the "key" was stripped by the technician on the fourth wheel resulting in having to drill out the lug nut. I Had to replace the remaining 3 locks with standard lugs due wait time to get a replacement key lug was quoted as months by the wheel manufacturer. On other visits, Staff always push to replace the cabin air filter, even when I had it replaced on previous visit and then had little or no a/c or heater use during winter months. Today went for oil change with a coupon card sent to me by the shop for a "conventional" oil change for a great, low price only to be told on check in "you know we don't do conventional oil changes anymore...". Ah.. no, how would I? especially if I received your mailer coupon advertising that exact service. I was offered a discount on a synthetic change, so "thanks" for that but still higher than I was expecting, budgeting too pay. Final straw.. after being advised I would need new tires and I asked for a quote, I declined with the intention of returning in a couple weeks as funds permitted When I got home to inspect the tires only to notice one of the wheels cover hub caps was broken/damaged when/where the tech clearly inserted the tire iron or similar device to remove the hub caps. Clearly a small quarter size triangle piece broken/ missing yet the technician failed to inform anyone at the shop to advise me. I don't recall hitting a curb causing the damage and there is absolutely NO evidence of scrapping, scuffing of any of the wheels that would show maybe a curb was stuck. Clearly damaged during hub cap removal or re-installation. The technician failed to fess up to his manager... "hey boss, I damaged the customers hub cap...." But nope, nothing, nada...thinking I wouldn't notice?! I did call the shop back immediately and the agent i spoke with phone was apologetic (thank you for letting me vent and all) but offered no resolution. I asked if I come back for tires maybe consider a small discount or something? But was non-commital that really nothing could be done now. I ask this be commented in file file. And I explained my overall recent frustrations as just stated above and was calling really to let them know what was happening and to do what they feel needed to be done internally to improve. I explained I do have other options for my business.. Discount Tire right down the street and a new Valvoline Oil Quick change shop under construction and "coming soon" right across the street. As of this writing/posting, I've received no follow up call (I didn't ask directly for one) but falsely assumed the person I spoke with would have mentioned it to a manager or co-worker. I'm not always accompanied by my husband and I normally hate taking my car in for maintenance when he's not with me, but the staff here has always been professional. I came back 4 hours later and they had not even moved my car, and told me it would be another hour. 5 hours to test for a leak on a tire. absolutely ridiculous, a monkey with a plastic wrench would get more work done than this shop. read more

First appointment was for Saturday. Was called a couple hours prior to the start of the appointment and was told that they couldn't get me in and to come back at 10am on Monday. I was told at 11:00 that they "ordered the oil filter" and it shouldn't be much longer. Over an hour to wait for a simple oil change isn't only ludicrous, but a complete disrespect for my time. If you want them to deny your warranty on their own brand tires than this is your place. I bought 4 new big o tires and now after 2.5 -2.7 years 32K miles on the tires. They are bald and worn down to the markers. In their own words "they have plenty of thread left" All tires are 4-5/32nds. One tire has 6/32 They wanted me to pay $300 for 2 rear brand new tires and come back some time later. Pay them more money and replace the front ones. How about replace the 4 bald ones since they didn't even last the warranty period not even half and they are still in warranty. Obviously all are pretty close but they were trying to blame the wear on something else in the truck over the phone. It has their name on their tire and they won't stand by their warranty. I tried multiple times from 4-5 PM. This is a terrible representation of the business before you even walk in the door. I've visited this location twice now for synthetic oil changes. I tend to schedule things last minute and they've always fit me in the day I called for an appointment. Typically the service takes around an hour for oil change/tire rotation/inspection. Their prices are very competitive with other places I've visited in the Tucson area, and they run several specials throughout the year for oil changes so keep your eye out for an even better deal at certain times. Their waiting area is stocked with coffee, water, granola bars and television - so waiting around for an hour isn't such a bad thing. Always do a good job of checking the car during service is what I use to say. I have been coming to this location for 8 years now for all of my cars. On Saturday I made an appointment online for an oil change and overall service to be done on the following Wednesday. I got an email Monday at 7am that there was a conflict and a store associate would be reaching out to me. I waited. and waited, and at about 3pm decided to call myself. I was told "Oh ya, those online appointments are always wrong, I need to call if I want an appointment". I told him the email said you were going to contact me. He said, No, we don't do anything with the online". He went on to say his next opening was Thursday. I told him I am leaving for out of town Thursday morning. He then told me, "well, you can come in Wednesday, but be prepared for a 2 and a half hour wait". I told him, and I must admit abruptly, that there are plenty of places that would like my business, so no thanks. First, when it says on the website, "Book an appointment", do not. It appears you must call. I do have a question though, why offer online reservations when. It is obvious the management at this location completely ignores it? Second, Do not wait for them to contact you, because they wont. You need to call and be persistent. Finally, offering me something I am not able to accept and then telling me if I don't like it I can wait 2 and a half hours signals to me at least, that This Big-O already has too much business and doesn't care much if they lose customers. This particular Big O sucks. They destroy everything they touch when it comes to mounting tires on wheels. Not 1 time not 2 times, but 3 times before I pulled the job from them. After many many recoats on my side of the fresh powdercoating and them fucking them up I had enough! I took the redone freshly powdercoated wheels to Exclusive Tire and Wheel. They where all done perfect and within 20 minutes! Not one issue or problem. Operator error and negligence is the only reason they where fucked up from Big O. There a joke. Do not use them for anything. Go to discount, canyon automotive, Rita Ranch automotive, etc. The owners are idiots and will blame you and not take responsibility for anything they damage. After we had this issue All of a Sudden they posted signs everywhere within there shop and bays exempting them from any liability. Best thing for this shit show to do is close there doors. There not even a worth 1 star. Owners said the would accept and pay for the damages. Yeah right. They tried to negotiate are charges for the wheels damaged 3 times! Fuck You! They are a joke. i have given a lot of business to big o tires over the last 7 years. i have had great and bad service. i decided to finally give a review because the bad service is far more often than the great service and i have talked directly to the husband and wife owners about these issues too but i have noticed that all my great service is when the owners are on site and the bad service is when the owners are not there. The owners have told me to make appointments instead of walking in. So i have made appointments for every thing the last roughly two years. But if the owners are not on site my appointments are never honored. For example, today i had a 9am appointment for oil change and fuel filter. I arrived at 845am. At 955am, my truck is finally pulled into the bay. At 1125am, i am cashed out. 1.5 hours total in the bay isnt terrible for oil change and fuel filter change but probably could have been done in an hour if the guy working on the truck does less walking around the bay on his cell phone as i watched my truck like a hawk since i can view it from the waiting area and i wasn't happy that my appointment was not honored. Also, while i was waiting, three other walk-in customers came and went in much shorter times while arriving after i arrived. When i bring this up to the guys at front desk and was told the extra time is due to them doing a 22 point inspection, so i asked what about not honoring my appointment and i got no answer. I do not know why i keep coming back to big o tires on old vail road but its time i take my business elsewhere or just continue to do regular maintenance myself. read more

I purchased 2 tires to replace the worn front tires. I happened to notice the new tires were being put on the front and not the rear. I told the guy at the counter who countered that they were on the back. I told him I watched the technician put them on the front. The person at the counter went into the bay to tell the technician to move them to the back. The look on the technician's face wasn't pleasant. The guy behind the counter claimed it was his fault in the work order, which conflicts with the framed statement in the waiting area that new tires bought as a pair would be placed on the rear for safety reasons. They lifted the car back up and switched the tire locations. On my drive home one of my hubcaps came off which I noticed only once I parked at home. They checked my flat tire, filled it up with air, and assured me that it was fine FREE OF CHARGE! So when we needed to buy four new tires, guess where we went? They went above and beyond to do right by me. Things don't always go right, and my first visit here unfortunately they didn't. That happens from time to time, but what really stood out to me was how when the owners of the shop found out things hadn't gone right, they reached out to me right away and went far out of there way to make sure everything was taken care of, resolved, and then some. To me what you do when things don't go as planned is what really shows what you are made of, and this business passed that test with flying colors. They clearly stand behind their service. They checked the car, told us what's wrong, and they said either wait till Monday ( today Saturday) or just keep toppi NY off the coolant. When I took one of our vehicles in for an oil change in December, I was told it also needed a coolant flush and one of the power steering lines was leaking. Since it was right before Christmas, I opted to let them just do the flush and we would keep an eye on the power steering leak. We bought the car brand new and never had an issue with the coolant system but thought that since it was around 120k miles, the flush was a good idea. Fast forward to last week. I was having a tune up done by another company and when they checked the fluids, the coolant was almost COMPLETELY EMPTY!!! I have no idea how the vehicle did not overheat nor how the engine didn't get blown. The gentleman doing the tune up filled the radiator and the back-up tank with coolant and then told me to keep an eye on it. 24 hours later, it was down to the "low" line on the back-up tank and had no idea what was going on. I filled it to the "full" line and then had my husband take it for a short drive. When he got back, there were small puddles of coolant on the floor. Initially it was diagnosed as a cracked radiator since the whole thing was soaked but when the person showed up to do the replacement, it was discovered the issue the entire time was that whoever did the flush at Big O, replaced one of the clamps on the upper radiator hose and then neglected to tighten it, making it so the car was losing coolant once the engine got up to operating temp!!! I will NEVER take either of my vehicles to this store again! Oh, the best part? The other company wiped off the power steering line since it looked "wet" and told me to keep an eye on it. It is still DRY AS A BONE so we are sure they greased the line to make it look as though it was leaking. Funny how we never saw any power steering fluid on the ground and the tank for the fluid is still FULL without us having to add anything. Take my advice and just stay away. read more

He said his 'guy' had to go get tires from somewhere. Over an hour later they got started. Had he been honest with me I would have gone to the one down the street. I brought my truck in because it was vibrating on the freeway. I had a feeling the tires were not balanced, as I did tire balancing before. They checked the balance of the tires and found 3 of the 4 tires where not balanced properly. Truck is running good now. One issue is when they jacked up the front, they broke my front license plate frame. The major issue is that when I did a 360 check of my tires, 3 of the center caps where not tight, the 4th center cap was not even tightened, I just pulled it off. I brought this to the attention of Peggy and she immediately had the guy come out and tighten them. When it comes to tires, they need to insure that their all tightened and secured properly, because traveling at 75 mph and a tire falls off can be devastating and can be fatal or cause great bodily injuries, Just because they didn't double check their work! On a positive note, Peggy was great, her customer service was excellent, from start to finish, after she showed me the damage to my license plate frame, she said she wasn't going to charge me for the balancing! A note to management, you need to emphasize the importance of having your employees double checking their work for the safety of your customers. I'm only giving a 3 star rating because I want to see if they improve the next time I bring my truck in for service. I would give Peggy a 5 star rating if it would allow me too! read more
