I needed a car. My credit was in mid 500's the morning I filled out applications, trying to get a miracle before staggering into one of those Buy Here Pay Here places (you got a job and $500, then you get financed! But at a whopping 27%-35%). 45 minutes later I got an email saying a salesperson would be calling in next few hours. Less than 1 hour later, I got another email. This time from their Internet Sales Manager. It said he would be calling real soon and wanted to introduce himself. 20 minutes later, he called. His name was Erik Volpert. This was about 2:00pm on a Wednesday. He asked me some basic questions (confirming I was who I claimed to be). After getting the info he needed, he said he would get to work and would call me back when he had an answer. Less than an hour later he called back to say I was approved, only drawback was I couldn't get approved for a vehicle any higher than $16,000. He went in to say that would require a minimum $500 down payment (possibly up to $1000 down). He said he could get me financed at 9.09% APR. Remember, my credit is under 560 and I have no trade in. I was truly surprised that he was able to land those numbers. Knowing that at this stage of the process, his #1 goal was to get me down to the car lot, where I fully expected the quoted numbers to change. I expected a minimum of $1000 down payment and the APR to go up to +/- 15%. I knew the lower numbers were potentially a ploy to get me down to the lot. Erik then asked me to go on their website and choose 10 cars I liked, that fit my criteria and email it to him. He said that gives him an idea of what I want and would allow him to get a jump on the process to minimize my time at the dealership. He said later this evening we could get together in person and go over what he had been able to work on based on my email. So, I did as asked. Due to my schedule I couldn't get to the dealership until the next day. But during that 24 hour period, I had several emails and 3 phone calls whittling down my list. Once I got to our appointment, Erik had my #2 choice and my #3 choice in the front of the lot for easy access. My #1 choice had sold the previous day. I test drove both vehicles. When comparing the 2 choices (price, mileage, accessories included, maintenance records, monthly payment, down payment requirements- if different, etc. Etc.) Erik Volpert says if I go with Car A, he will drop $300 off price, waive my down payment altogether and get me a 1, 2, 3 or 4 year "powertrain & everything else on the car" warranty, if I wanted one. He said, "It covers everything except maintenance items. I'll get you that warranty for 85% off"(I think that's what he said, I had many numbers going through my head at that moment). He did exactly that and all is good. The experience of buying a car at Chapman Honda was seamless, pleasant and for once, it was actually fun. It was better than any car buying from a dealer experience that I have ever had. I have bought 8 vehicles from car dealers in my life, the last being 2012. I try to stay with private parties for the ease of the process and void of high pressure situations. Chapman Honda did not put me through the dreaded "dog and pony show", you know, the salesman's notes on the yellow pad, the salesman running back and forth between sales managers, then the sales manager himself sits at the table with his hard closing of the sale with incentives (the "if I can do this or that, then will you buy right now?") Then once agreed to, another salesman selling options / aftermarket items tries to sell you stuff and finally (5 hours later) after being beat up, tired and hungry from being worn down, the finance guy takes 1.5 hours having you sign the paperwork all while he is still trying to sell you stuff! Awful! Chapman Honda put me through NONE of that. I went from my computer to Erik Volpert to Ralph Sora (finance guy) to my home with the vehicle in less than 2.5 hours. I didn't have to use or succumb to any hard nose sales tactics or any strategic, high pressure negotiating. Erik Volpert handled everything over the phone and through email before I ever stepped on to Chapman Honda sales lot. Everything he initially quoted me is exactly OR LESS THAN what the final numbers were. And once I got to the lot, he had my top choices (from the list I emailed him after looking at their website) in the front of the dealership waiting for me. I highly recommend Erik Volpert and Ralph Soza. In fact, 2 days later I sent Erik my 1st referral. There is not one thing that didn't sit well with me throughout the entire process. He really treated me with respect and was direct, knowledgeable and truthful in his answers to me. To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to complain about the highly unacceptable service and complete lack of customer appreciation I received a Chapman Honda of Tucson. I have been a loyal customer of this business for over six (6) years, as well as a true believer in the quality of your motor vehicles. I do my part as a responsible Honda owner by always bringing in my vehicle to the dealership for service in spite of the higher cost for parts and service. In September of 2015, I traded in my 2012 Honda FIT for a 2015 Honda Civic EX-L at Honda of Tempe. All of my Honda's maintenance has been done at Chapman Honda of Tucson. On June 13, 2017, I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change (R/O Number 56435056/1). During a check of the vehicle, I was informed that the car battery had failed and found to be defective. The battery, which was under warranty, was replaced. On October 14, 2018, the car battery once again failed. I put it on a trickle charger but still the battery would not climb above 1.2 volts when it should be at 12 volts for being relatively new. I removed the battery and brought it to Chapman Honda of Tucson. The parts employee walked me over to service advisor Avi Villalobos. I informed both employees that this was the second car battery that had failed on my vehicle. The service advisor informed me in a not so courteous manner, that my vehicle was over 36,000 miles and over the 36 months by just over two weeks and could not replace it. I asked about a pro-rated battery since this was highly unusual for a new battery to last just sixteen (16) months. Once again, the service advisor declined to replace or pro-rate the battery. I was very upset at the disgraceful way I was being treated. I asked the service advisor for the name of the business owner and he initially refused to provide it to me saying "he's not here, he's in Phoenix." When I pressed once again for a name, he replied, "You need to call Honda Customer Service." I requested to speak with a manager and the service advisor simply pointed to an office at the end of the room. I spoke with Service Manager Steve Haddock (sp?) and explained my situation. Mr. Haddock essentially told me the same thing that the service advisor had said and offered no alternatives. Needless to say, I was quite frustrated. I expected a much higher level of service from Chapman Honda of Tucson. I was prepared to pay a reasonable amount for a pro-rated battery that clearly did not last the amount of time an average car battery should have. In closing, I would like you to know that I will no longer be frequenting your business. In addition, I will take advantage of every opportunity to inform friends, family and acquaintances about my experience at Chapman Honda of Tucson and encourage them to go elsewhere for their vehicle purchase or service needs. read more

Wow! What an amazing experience from a car dealership. I've purchased over 2 dozen cars in my years and this was by far the best. I ended up having 3 distinct interactions with someone at Chapman from 2 test drives to the sale and was thoroughly impressed each time. I originally went into take an extended test drive of a Pilot as we shopped across 3 or 4 different vehicles. Yousef was extremely professional and friendly, and we had the keys and a temp tag and had the car to myself so that my family and I could truly experience the car without the "judging eyes" of the sales rep. We then came back the next day after test driving another SUV that my wife loved but just wasn't as comfortable in. So, we asked Devan at Chapman if he wouldn't mind pulling a specific Pilot around to the front next to the other test drive, so we could easily compare the two. It was absolutely no problem and he pulled it right up which helped us make our decision much easier. We ended up deciding on the Pilot and came back the 3rd day to make the deal. I was prepped with a clean trade and my best negotiation tactics and was very surprised at how smoothly and effortlessly everything went. I got a great deal on the new car, what I wanted for the trade, and not once did I feel like I was ever being pressured or coerced into a certain deal. Devan had the new car detailed and sitting on a side showroom where he carefully went over all the features as finance drew up the documents. I was impressed at how Devan made us feel like we were all he had to focus on that day and it was a busy day!! We got through the finance department with Adam and had yet another great experience. Adam was able to walk me through each additional warranty option. Yousef then called back the day after to follow up with our purchase and to just say, "thank you". It's obvious why this dealership just won and celebrated a president's award from Honda! They're doing something different at Chapman and it's obviously working. they sell me a car that does not work and when I ask them to please check it because it had warranty they denied I have it for a year and only been driven for a couple of months since I been trying to fix it since day 3, If I could put -0 stars, the worst experience in buying a car. About a year ago I was looking for a car because the one I brought made me spend a lot of money, I went to Chapman Honda for information because I had previously bought used cars at the dealers on the street but they came out very bad and I was losing more in what I spent to fix them, they recommended me to go to Chapman because even if it was a used car they were going to give me a guarantee and they are not supposed to sell cars that they don't work, since day 3 it startmed feeling weird and the check engine gown on, it says that the Origen sensor was bad and also the brakes I took it to them and make me wait for a whole day and before they close I asked for my car and they told me it wasn't been checked at all, they ended up not fixing it and just erase the light after that the battery start dying I had to buy a new one a couple weeks after the light goes on again, i got someone changed both of the sensors the engine light never goes off the car turns off while I'm driving, a couple times it happened to me on the freeway I had a 6 year old that is always with me in the car is my only car I'm still paying for it, it stopped working for a couple of months dont turn on or nothing it is my only way to my daughter and my self to school and work and be on time I've been trying to ask them if there was something bad with the car before I buy it so i can take it to a place where they can fixed it and they just ignore me read more

Let me start off by saying I was a loyal Chapman customer for 22 years. Anything Honda related they were my go to. I recently took my car in for service on a Saturday. I took the car in at noon and they called me at 5pm to let me know it was ready to pick up. I get down there and pay my bill and as I'm on my way out the door I get a "Oh there's one more thing, we're sorry but we wrecked your car". They decided to let one of their lot attendants that falsely claimed they could drive a standard transmission move my vehicle and that lot attendant rear ended another car on their lot because they obviously forgot to take it out of gear when parking it. Professionally I should have been contacted immediately after they damaged my property but the service tech gutlessly decided to wait until I paid my bill in full before telling me. I did get an "apology" but the "these things happen" attitude I received negated any sincerity of the apology. This treatment on top of the fact that the last three times my wife and I went there to purchase a new vehicle (within the last 5 years) we ended up with some kid that claimed to be the sales managers nephew and we ended up telling them more about the vehicle we were looking at then they could tell us. My review: 5 out 5 stars. I purchased a used vehicle from Chapman Honda of Tucson back in Dec. 2016. I'm really happy with the vehicle and my overall experience with the dealership. They even gave me a courtesy car wax after I made the mistake of using one of those mop-style automated car washes. Pros: o Very large selection o Upfront pricing rated moderate, good, to excellent on TrueCar, Kelly Blue Book, etc. o Friendly and attentive staff o No push back with vehicle inspection requests (I had them put the vehicle up on the lift to inspect the undercarriage) o Simple stream-lined purchasing process o Internet Sales Manager Vincent Pedregon great to work with (cool, funny, and charming fellow) Con: o Since the pricing is "already competitive" don't expect your haggling skills to get you very far. I was able to knock a few (like almost literally a few) bucks off and get a maintenance toss-in, but that took maybe over an hour of negotiating. The reason I chose Chapman of Honda of Tucson is for a couple of reasons: the simple fact that I was looking for a Honda and they had a great selection but the most important reason is that I received a handful of recommendations from friends and co-workers who had a great experience with the dealership with no negative feedback at all. I just made my 3rd purchase from Chapman Honda (a new 2016 Honda CRV, a used 2008 Honda Civic for my son, and now an awesome new 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid). My experience with this Honda dealership was and always has been top notch--from the purchase of our vehicle to the superb maintenance services they provide afterwards. My salesperson was Tameron and he went above and beyond to find the exact perfect vehicle I was seeking--and as luck would have it, we didn't have to wait 2-3 months as is the norm with any new car nowadays! He also shopped around and found us an affordable financing deal at a decent rate (given the high car financing rates that are effective now due to inflation). Our time at the dealership signing the paperwork was not long at all (less than an hour), as he answered most of our questions by email, phone, or text. I am attaching a photo of the vehicle we bought and was also super impressed that it was waiting for us in a nice glass-enclosed garage, all new and shiny, like it was in a display case--I felt like "royalty" driving it away. This is a platinum review for saleswoman extraordinaire, Theresa Furgason. Just bought my 4th Honda Civic. I thought I wanted a 2017 Hatchback, but didn't like the new style of interior. I had been leasing a 2014 which has a wonderful console and still has a CD player. Theresa went above and beyond every step of the way. When it was clear I did not want the new Honda, she brought up buying the one I was leasing, which was what I was thinking. She got me the numbers, kept on top of everyone who had to have a hand in placing my car into inventory, then selling it to me, and took care of me while I was at the dealer. She even charged my phone and found my registration online when I did not have it. Then she made me copies of my insurance and registration. When I had to bring the car in for the safety inspection and there was no one available to drop me back home, she took me herself. She did not make much on this sale, but the kind of business ethics she engages in will stand her in good stead in the future. If I do go back and buy a new car there, I won't talk to anyone else but her. I highly recommend Honda and if you are looking for one, got to Chapman Honda and see Theresa. read more

I recently purchased a car with Kendra Baugh as my sales associate. I initially contacted Chapman Honda by phone and spoke with Tanisha who was friendly and knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions and then connected me with Kendra. Both associates were kind, respectful, and welcoming, which is extremely important to me. Kendra helped find the perfect car for me based on all my quirky requests. She did not pressure me into purchasing a car and reminded me frequently to keep searching until I found the perfect fit, which is also important to me. Even when there were some setbacks in obtaining the best finance options, she remained patient and positive until all concerns were resolved. Prior to making this purchase I was in contact with many dealerships and had interactions with sales associates who were rude, pushy, or just didn't seem interested in my needs or concerns. As previously stated, communication with Tanisha and Kendra was quite the opposite. I plan on making Kendra my go-to person for any car purchases in the future and I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a kind, attentive, sales associate. read more

The new dealership is great! A new look with comfortable service and sales areas. I was having recall work done on my passenger side airbag. They called to make an appointment at my convenience. The new service drive is large and you don't feel like you are about to get run over like on the old one. The greeter came out promptly, let my service adviser know I was there and he came right out. Jason Cowdry was my service adviser. He explained what would be done and showed me where I could wait. The new customer lounge is very comfortable. It has plenty of relaxing seating with a separate children's area. A large screen tv and free newspapers and magazines are available. They also have free coffee, tea, bottled water and popcorn. Several vending machines are also nearby. After a short wait my car was done. Jason personally came to get me. He explained everything that was done while preparing my paperwork. Then he walked me to my car. He held the door as he wished me a good day. I will be using this new dealership for all my auto needs and will definitely ask for Jason to be my service adviser. read more

Chapman Honda ruined my Accord's air conditioning system. It worked flawlessly for 15 years, but has been a nightmare ever since they worked on it. I took my Accord here when the original AC compressor died as I thought it would be the best way to prevent future AC issues. Unfortunately about a year later the replacement compressor went out again, which Chapman agreed to replace under warranty. About a month later that compressor also died, which they again replaced under warranty. Then about two weeks later, the compressor died again. Chapman then decided to replace the entire AC system. Now less than a year later, the AC has stopped working again. This time I took it to another shop who found the replacement condenser and discharge line were leaking and needed to be replaced. I called Chapman again and this time they refused to fix anything under warranty. My advisor Jeff was always very responsive and courteous, but clearly their work is subpar and they do not stand behind it. $1500+, two years and multiple weeks worth of dealership repairs later and my car may never be the same read more
