I think compared to most tire stores they have the best warranty. There is some upsell and additions to the actual tire you buy, is expected though. I don't think it is high pressure compared to some other places I have bought tires from. I think Jack Furriers is the best in Tucson; however, they are not nationwide and I travel out of state frequently. Walmart is another great retailer; however, they dont stock as many tires as Discount and it might take a day or two to get it. Discount can usually get a tire same day if it is an unusual size. The store closes at 6pm, if you walk in at 5:45 they will still install a set of tires for you - try that at Firestone! Even if you didn't purchase your tires there they have free air checks and flat repairs - free repairs is unusual. Some locations have a coffee pot and all have free water. I paid $569 for a new set of vehicle tires and they had a $70 rebate. I have haggled with these guys before and they have worked out specials - maybe that's why they upsell others. read more

Another great experience at discount tire in Tucson. We had our old Honda CRV fitted with new tires. Unfortunately they were not of the best quality . I brought them back to have them rebalanced. On the drive home I still had a vibration in the vehicle. When I got home I was contemplating my next move, I get a call from Juan the manager asking if I still had issues with the tires. I stated my displeasure and he told to bring the vehicle back and he would swap them out for a better quality tire. I did that the next day and the difference was night and day. On the way home he called me to make sure I was satisfied. It's very rare these days you get that kind of customer service. Finally they say he's tied up in the parking lot can they take a message....? How do I go from speaking to someone to get put on hold to then get asked to leave a message because they are now busy...when I was just on the phone with them? My car dealer recommended I replace 3 of my tires but they quoted me a very high number so I came here and it was only slightly more expensive to replace all 4 tires than 3 at the dealership. Everyone I worked with was great but Troy in particular was awesome; he got me into the queue and was able to source some tires for my Fiat that it didn't look like they had in, in part because my car is a sport model with different sized wheels. By the time we had that sorted out it was late so he replaced my one tire that had a leak and then got me lined up for quick service later this week that went as advertised. He also was very cordial and friendly on the phone and through the whole process. I fully intend to continue using Discount Tire and particularly this location in the future. read more

He knew something was wrong because their tire specialist tried to quickly get away from the vehicle as soon as he parked it. Purchased a full set of Michelin tires 3 years ago, picked this organization for their reliability. I recently ruined one if my tires out on the road in Tucson and needed a replacement, when inquiring about it I discovered that Discount Tires discontinued carrying these - so it made the fix more complicated. Doing my own discovery I found 2 tires at a competitor who was ready and willing to do the deal (the guy at Discount could have offered to check locally with other vendors and do the same but gave me the impression the tire was unavailable in the US). Long story shortened, I passed on giving any more business to Discount and moved on to another shop who offered to go the extra mile , fix my issue for less cash - lesson learned! read more

Amazing service. Troy answered my phone call and told me to come on down to get my tire repaired even though all the appointments were filled. When I arrived, the store was not open yet so I waited outside. Immediately, Troy walks outside (20 minutes before they open) and tells us he doesn't want us waiting out in the cold so he will check us in on his tablet and we can wait in our cars. He literally went to every single car that pulled in the lot and checked them in personally. Extremely friendly and helpful. When the store opened I was immediately greeted by another gentleman (I believe Juan) who walked out to my car to get my details and take a look at my tire. Not only did he let me know the condition of my tires, he took me over to a poster and explained how much "life" my tires had left. He let me know what options I had if they could not fix my flat and sent me on my way. In less than 30 minutes they were done with everything. Moving here from Wisconsin, my tire needs are different. I appreciate his knowledge and time and attention in helping me find the best tires. He had an elderly customer who left the lights on in her vehicle and drained the battery. None of the employees had jumper cables, so Juan had someone bring him some. He took his personal vehicle and drove over the curb (due to obstacles like handicap sign and light pole) in order to get closer to the lady's car. He jumped her battery and saved the day. I was shocked at how unfriendly and inflexible my maintenance rep was at this Discount Tire! Other Discount Tire locations (Grant/Tanque Verde and Speedway/Country Club) have friendly, accommodating reps. I came in with a flat tire, and the guy used a gauge on all tires and told me that 3 of them were bad. I told him that I had been to another Discount Tire location fairly recently to get my tires checked and there was no problem with them. He was insistent (and totally unsympathetic) that I buy 3 tires. I asked about two things - what would used tires cost? and - would you please not put the lug nuts back on so tightly? He said that they didn't really deal with used tires and that Mazda has certain specs on how tight the lug nuts are. Ridiculous! I would have argued and gone somewhere else, but I was exhausted from being out in the heat and it was too late to go to another repair shop. When I was told that my car was ready, I said to another rep that I would like a discount because I am a repeat Discount Tire customer, and he told me that if I found other tires that were less expensive I should come back within 30 days. He offered no discount. I also told him that I had been to another Discount Tire location recently and that location checked an my tires were fine, to which he replied that I should go to his location instead next time. Been taking my cars & trucks here for years now. Never leave unhappy and the customer service is awsome here and prices are ok. Wish I would get a really good deal since I've purchased a few sets now and repaired some bad tires also. But that's me just saying maybe on a repair half off since they sold it to me? A couple of days ago, my son tried to avoid hitting debris in the Rancho Sahuarita area. But he hit it. We checked all the tires to be sure they were good. We didn't see anything at the time. But the next day, we had a flat. Some kind of metal was sticking out of the tire. I called Discount Tire, hoping they could come out and fix it. They don't have a mobile service. So, I had to tow it in. I arrived at 11 am and have sat here waiting for 3 hrs so far, waiting for them to fix it. I did call them the day before arriving. Told them all that happened. So it was planned. But still the wait is grueling. It's 93° outside, which isn't too bad. But I have never had to wait so long at a discount tire store before. The bright side, I got the certificate with my tires. It saved me $$. Only had to pay $27 tor renew the warranty on the one tire. read more

Had a nail in a tire with less than 15,000 miles on it. Took it in and they said they fixed it. I parked my truck and a week later seen my tire was flat. Took it back in only to hear the plug didn't work. Mind you they said it took awhile to find the hole since it was so small. So I was told I need two new tires. I listened to them and was told that it sucks because I had a lot of tread left the tires were practically brand new. I was told they would put the better of the three tires on the spare well that never happened. I had a blow out less than a month later on the older tires and when I went to put on spare I noticed an old tire with chunks taken out of the side wall. I told this to Robb and he said he would right in big sharpie to make sure the spare would be changed out. After arriving at 830a when my appointment was at 9am he informed me they didn't have tires in stock but delivery truck was in route to deliver them. He said my truck would be done by 12. That was fine. 2pm rolled around my truck was finally done. I began to drive off but decided to park to see if my spare was changed. Nope same old tire missing a chunk out of side wall was still there. I went back in to tell Robb. He said he'd make sure they changed it out. We'll I made mistake of taken his word for it. When I got home I checked nope same tire. I left discount many years ago for similar reason of always having flats wobbly tires being out of balance. I made another mistake going back. Very disappointed in this store. Robb was nice I blame the young techs in the back being lazy. They lost my business. Costco is the way to go. read more

I would like to give it more stars but currently at the moment I'm waiting for my tire to be repaired and I have been waiting just about 3 hours. Now I wouldn't be so irritated if there wasn't empty bays that my truck could be sitting in to get the tire fixed. But there are empty bays and my truck is still sitting in the parking lot waiting for someone to grab it to fix the tire. I've used discount tire all the time including when I was in charge of fleet vehicles for my company. This is my first time at this location and all I can say is they don't compare to other locations especially the location on power in Mesa AZ. Seriously this location needs help. Maybe understaffed?? Or considerable amount of training to be more proficient and organized. Update: two people have already left mind you these people came in after me without an appointment for the same reason!!!! Now appointments are required, yet even with an appointment it took 2 hours to get an oil change. Two other customers waited a long time for a simple tire repair and an alignment. Three of us frustrated. The shop didn't appear to be understaffed. So many workers standing and playing around, 4 in a group doing nothing several times joking around as you wait and wonder whose suppose to be working on your vehicle. Most of the work was happening by 2 workers. They even have a window for you to watch and get more frustrated as nothing happens. Sit there wondering am I on video for how much patience I have? Unethical. I went in for a "free" flat repair and was given two reasons why the tire was unrepairable. They wanted to sell me a new tire. Luckily it wasn't my car and I needed to check with my buddy before I bought a pair of new tires. He asked me to take it to his regular tire shop, another well known chain here in town. I did not tell them anything about my experience at Discount so as to not bias their opinion in any way. Forty-five (45) minutes later the mechanic came out and handed me the key. The tire was fixed, no charge, and I was ready to go. I talked to the service manager and told him about my experience at Discount. He did not sound surprised, and he told me it wasn't even a borderline case, if it had been the mechanic would have brought him in on the deal to see if they wanted to try to sell me a tire.
