After my visit to this shop, it confirmed my suspicion that men do suffer from PMS. The service writer was having a really bad day, the East German Stasi had better customer service. After an alignment inspection, he gave me the measurements and a quote print out, no explanation, he grew more irate with every question. This was the worst experience my only day off and I had to bring my 10 month old, I have had went in for a simple oil change but the guy was trying to be nice so he heard some noise when I turn on my ac in my power steering belt and said it was loose so he tightened it. We left & I drove to Walmart and my belt completely fell off as I struggled to drive back with this horrible sound & no power steering with my 10 month old btw.... I got there and it was 6:03 so they denied me any help said they were closed but it was something he broke! he made me leave my car to get worked on in the morning, so I asked my mom to come get me having to take all my daughter car seat ect. Out and making it such a hassle because he didn't want to fix it now "because they were closed" so I had to borrow a car to get to school in the morning! Then I come back to pick it up the next day & it was making a loud sound it never made before and he refuses to fix it how can that be ok??? didnt deserve one. last time my car needed alignment and we found a coupon from pennysaver for $49.99 front alignment, A Latio guy in front desk being rude when i told him i have a coupon, with a unfriendly way he told me i had to do all four wheels, like he had something against me. went back another day different day different guy same terrible service so i left and went to "TIRE PROS" @4386 E Los Angeles Ave Simi Valley, CA 93063 they gave me the best service, and did the alignment W/O coupon! Brake Masters want to rip you off by telling you, that you need all four wheels done, young people not knowing about cars will get ripped off. my suggestion is not to get fooled by their ads and coupons in the Pennysaver! read more

He was angry because I asked him a question about the service he provided to my car. He hates his job and takes it out on the customers. Not someone I trust with my car. I took in my Toyota Van for an alignment because they were recommended by America's Tire Store nearby. They said it would take about an hour and asked if I wanted my brakes checked. I said OK. Two hours later I came back. They had not done the alignment! They said the brakes were OK. I said "why didn't you do the alignment." They provided a very lame explanation and tried to get me to replace my shocks. I was really upset and told them I didn't like their bait and switch tactics. They still had my van on the rack. So I told them I didn't want to do any business with them. They re mounted my tires and l left. read more

I bought a Groupon Jiffy Lube, Simi Valley yesterday. Before I even had a chance to park my car one of the workers approached my car to inform me that they did not have an oil filter for my 1999 VW Cabrio. I asked if they could get one. Then they asked me what type of oil change I bought on Groupon to which I responded, conventional for which I paid $29. They informed me that since my car was VW that it took a european oil that would be $119 to replace. I told them I was pretty sure it took conventional. This is the second time I have gone to this location and left without an oil change. The first time I went there with a Dodge Caravan at 5pm and, even though there were no other customers there, they told me it was too late to do an oil change. Don't these oil changes only take about 15 minutes? I ended driving all the way to Woodland Hills on that occasion to the Jiffy Lube there, arriving at 5:30pm and got my oil changed there even though there were about four cars ahead of me. Today I ended up taking my car to Brake Masters who explained that my car did, indeed, take conventional oil, but that because it was a VW something had to be floated, so a little more work was involved. I got my oil change done for only $19.99! Jeremy was so helpful, oil change took about 15 minutes, so I will definitely be returning to Brake Masters for my oil changes from now on. Hopefully, I can get a refund from Groupon because the guys at Jiffy Lube in Simi Valley do not want to work! read more

I was recommended to come here by American's Tires for alignment, so I brought my 1967 Ford Mustang over and the first time I went there Juan told me it needs ball joints but he couldn't do the alignment without replacing those parts. So I returned the following Saturday and he told me the alignment machine was broken. I came back once more the following Saturday and he told me the air compressor was broken. It was a really bad experience having to deal with Juan and there was no reason to keep on lying because I have a friend working right in the corner in the same shopping center and he was lying about the compressor. If they're not capable to do the work then they should be honest about it. I wasted my time for nothing. read more

Just awful. I took my fiancee's car here because the brake pedal was a bit mushy...I assumed air in the line. I had a coupon for $39.99 brake flush so i figured, why not? We drop it off and an hour later we get a call saying that the rear, right brake cylinder is leaking. Ok, so if it is, it's $60 to fix. Fine. Here's where it gets bad. When bleeding the brakes on a car, you always start with the wheel furthest away from the master cylinder...in this case the same wheel as the one with the leak. When I mention to the guy behind the counter that since they had found the source of the leak on the first wheel, that I wouldn't need the whole flush and thus saving me $40. Nope. His response was, "well, we already did all of the work...". Wait. You flushed the brake system and THEN told me you found a leak??? If it was "spraying out all over the place" as you told me on the phone, should the leak have been the FIRST thing you told me about? If I came in because the brake pedal was mushy....and you found the cause of it, shouldn't it have been a good idea to tell me that before doing unnecessary work and charging me for it?? The funny thing is, I would have gladly spent MORE money and had BOTH cylinders replaced if only they had been honest with me. The snide, condescending fellow behind the counter treated us with such disrespect that I want to make sure that no one else has to endure doing "business" with this scamming shop. read more

I was very scetchy to take my car in here because the reviews on here are so mixed with people either loving them or hating them. The reason I did was because I had had brakes put on by them a year and a half earlier, or so I thought, but at a different location. when I got there I told them what the problem was and they said they would check it out. After a while they told me they couldn't find my car in the computer system as ever being there. Since I had read all the bad reviews I assumed they were making it up so they could get out of their "life time brake deal". I told them I remembered the date I had been there, the location and everything. They said they believed me even though they had no record or proof. They said they would look everything over and if it needed new pads they would wave the price!! The guy took me out to my car showed me the brake pads, rotors and explained everything. The brake pads were good and didn't have to be replaced, so they just took everything apart and cleaned it for FREE and solved the problem of my squeaky brakes. After I was so confused as to why they had no record of me buying brakes there over a year ago. I ended up figuring out that I had NOT bought my brakes from there, but a different place!! I had been so sure. Talk about a bone head move!!! Anyway, a place that was that willing to help me when they didn't have to is more than a good place to me. read more

Terrible experience again! Why did I ever go back? I took my car in for a "free brake check" ... they took it in quickly.. when the check was done the front office fellow (not Mr. Friendly) said I needed to change the pads and the Rotors "would not turn" - therefore they needed to be replaced. When I ask for a printout of the prices (excuse me for asking but it isn't necessarily cheap) he didn't provide one so I began to write it out on a sheet of paper and asked a few other questions to clarify what the amounts covered. Mr. non-Friendly gave a bit of attitude with the answering and then replied well, it'll take about 25 minutes to get the tires back on. I stuck to my guns and asked strongly to put the tires back on and that I wasn't ready today. I took the car to another place here in Simi and they found that the pads needed to be replaced but the rotors could still be "machined". $155.00 total. Brake masters wanted $328.00 for the rotors and $169.00 for the pads. I found the front office man to be rude and I felt like I was being talked down to for being a woman. Definitely will NOT take any of my cars there again. There are much better places here in Simi. read more

Terrible customer service at this place. I called to try to make an appointment for oil/filter change, and to check my car out since the pistons are misfiring. I attempted to get an oil change somewhere else, but was told that the previous place (brakemasters in Simi) that did the oil change used the incorrect oil drain plug and they were unable to remove, that the oil plug was forced on there. The gentlemen who claimed to be the manager at brakemasters refused to make an appointment for me since they do not take appointments for oil changes. I tried to explain to him that due to the misfires it was more then likely going to be more than just an oil change, and usually I am short on time, I couldn't be there long if it was not a serious problem. On top of that they caused a problem that I was unable to get an oil change somewhere else to begin with. He continuously talked over me and refused to listen to me. This use to be a place I would frequent quite regularly, but safe to say I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on, and will encourage others to do the same! read more

I had a bad experience today. I went to get an alignment with a coupon from America's tires. The guy told me that they could check my brakes free of charge. He told me thatl I needed new rotors, but I know I don't because my brother is a mechanic. He told me I also needed to replace some belts. He gave me an attitue because I told him I wasn't going to get the work done. I mean one thing is to have you car check for something and another one is to get it fix at that moment ($700+). Besides I wanted to check with my brother. He did not give me the paper work were it showed what my car needed. I didn't dare write it down because I didn't want an attitude (I am 5 ft female) and my car already was held hostage I didn't want them to break something out of anger. It just gave me a very bad feeling. I will never take my car there again. Now I don't know if I should trust America's tires since they are working with such a shady business. read more
