We did, waited for the car, and it was done on time. He reviewed the alignment results with us and gave us a hard copy for our records. I called the Simi Valley location asking the simple question of the cost of aligning my car. The man I delt with refused to give me a simple answer of X- amount of dollars. He instead insisted that he couldn't possibly simply share their price without putting my vehicle up on a rack to do an inspection. (This particular move of taking physical control of your car is what sales people do so you can't just leave just before they go high pressure on you.) I then explained to him my decades of experience in brake,chassis and front-end alignment, I then asked, specifically, how much to set my tow-in? His rudeness increased telling me that I didn't know what I was talking about and hung up on me as I shared the type of tire wear I was seeing that suggested the need for an adjustment to my cars tow-in. It became clear that his anger was sparked by my refusal to give him control over my vehicle. This is the kind of situation where trusting people get taken advantage of. ... DO NOT GO HERE. I went here last weekend, my car, which I knew were my brakes were making a noise. Only had made the noise one day so wanted it checked before it got too long. They looked at it for free, after about 20 min. They told me I needed BOTH front and back brakes AND back rotors. They quoted me $523 , I told them I couldn't do it today and would be back during the week. On my way home I called Tire Pros on tapo and told them what I needed. They said they find it hard to believe I need all that, but to bring it in and they'll look at it, but didn't have time today. They also said IF that is what I needed would cost $400, that's $123 less so of course I was going to go there. Fast forward I waited until this weekend to get them fixed, come to find out ALL I needed was front brakes, nothing else was wrong with my car. My step dad was so upset he called Brake Masters and spoke to the manager and he said "why do you care we didn't do the work" my step dads point was they are offering work that doesn't need to be done. The manager again said it was just a "suggestion" terrible customer service and was completely rude. Imagine if I hadn't called to get a second opinion, imagine if I did it then there. Imagine all the people that might have been ripped off here. Be careful. Will be calling corporate this week. I've used this place for brake and wheel work several times and have always been happy with the results. The "Service Engine Light" in my work truck had come on a number of months ago and I needed to get it fixed before I took it in for a SMOG Check. The service manager, who remembered me, actually recommended that I take my truck to a SMOG and Repair facility since I needed the service to pass a smog test and repair costs are capped by the state at the authorized facilities so it could end up costing me far less there. How many businesses have such good customer service that they will tell you that you can get a better deal on what you need at another location? I already liked this place, now they have earned my complete loyalty. read more

By far the worst place. Went in for alignment yesterday. Car was bearing left after we got it done car started making noises. Went back and they had told us the abs was bad. Ended up getting our car towed to a auto shop. They had it checked by 3 mechanics. All 3 had told us that its the alignment. So we came back today to get a realignment due to it bearing right now. The GM is talking about they can't. This place is hella shady. Stay away from this spot. read more

My wife tried to take our car to these folks to just get a simple front end alignment. The first time they told her they can't do it because some of the parts on the steering system are loose. My wife said OK I'll let my husband fix that and I'll be back. They quoted her $1,100 dollars to do this job. It cost me under $500 with the purchase of the special tools needed to get the old pitman and idler arms off. After putting in all new parts my wife took it back to have it aligned. They now told her the steering box is broken. They didn't show her or explain what was broken on the steering box. They just told her it was broken. When she called me I told her to get out of there and take it to another reputable alignment shop. When she did have it aligned that same day at another shop they said there was nothing wrong with the steering box. I do most of the work on my cars because I don't trust many mechanics to work on my cars without getting charged a large amount. There are certain jobs on a car or truck that needs to be done by a professional for the simple fact that you can't afford the equipment to do that particular job. Now maybe it was because she's a woman and they felt they can get more money out of her and maybe it was the $30 off coupon she had for this alignment, but any shop that tries to take advantage of a women simply because they think she doesn't know anything is trash in my book. Just be aware that this happens at this shop. If they quote you a high price for a job you didn't even take the car there for get a second opinion that's all I'm saying. read more

I was shocked by the previous review since I actually received outstanding service! I paid quite a bit but then again my truck had hit another 30000 so what would you expect??? They fixed my brakes and even told me that my rear diff was leaking, even though that is not their specialty and to see if its covered under my vehicle's warranty immediately and I did! Thanks to them I just made it under my warranty with Nissan right before it expired and got the differential fixed for free from the Nissan dealership! Thanks brake masters!!! read more

Wow these reviews are a joke!! I've been here about three or four times for an oil change and to check my brakes because I heard a slight squeak. The guy up front is Bill and he's not rude he's to the point. My brakes are fine and the reason they are squeaking is because I have brake dust in them. They rotated my tires and cleaned out the break dust for free and I was only there for about 30 minutes. $20.07 later I'm going away a happy camper why wouldn't I come back!! read more

These people straight up lied to me and stole my money. Didn't fix the alignment at all. Got on the freeway and I'm still being pulled to one side. Told me the back left wheel was "rubbing" on Something and causing wear so I need this special part to fix adjust this particular wheel because it was off more than the rest. Just went in for brakes on my '05 Lexus sedan and was very happy on my way out! The inspected my car, said I only needed front brakes (that's true) and gave me free pads since I had done my brakes there 3 years ago and the pads are guaranteed for life! Fantastic! I have to give them 5 Stars. I was nervous walking / driving in off the street not knowing what to expect. I had them check my brakes. I was thinking great, I know I need brakes and they are going to rake me over the coals. That didn't happen here. They explained every detail to me. The person at the front desk was quite arrogant. I tried to look past that (my mistake). I went there because my brakes were working okay but the pads were past half their life and needed to be replaced. I noticed Brake Masters and pulled in. There was hardly anyone there. I thought I had lucked out, There was a reason that a nice and clean looking shop has no business. There was a window where I could watch the work on my car. I saw the front desk guy come up and say something to the mechanic. He immediately stopped what he was doing reassembled my brakes, wheels and was backing the car out of the stall in less than five minutes. After the front brakes were replaced they began to drag and grind after about one day. When I called someone else answered the phone and said to go ahead and bring back the car. When I returned the front desk guy was back. He tried to blame me saying that I only wanted my brake pads replaced. What he didn't know was that a tire shop had inspected my brakes that very same day and said they were fine less the wear on the pads themselves. He then came back and said that I needed my wheel bearings repacked. WHAT??? The brake pads were dragging. Wheel bearings, are you kidding me?? This guy is an unethical crook. What he doesn't realize is that his customers' lives may depend on his break jobs or worse he could care less. Go elsewhere your life may be literally riding on it. read more

So after my fiancé commented on here 3 days ago on how they broke her power steering I received a call today harassing me that my comment was a lie, this is ridiculous my fiancé now drives a car with no power steering with my 10 month old daughter in it, they tightened her belt to tight and snapped the belt and blew out the bearings in the power steering pump pulley .... So plz don't call my phone again harassing me unless you're going to to fix what you guys broke ....like you should by LAW ..... And this is the manger Juan I am talking about .... This place is not honest. Do not trust them. I had pad/shoes changed here and they told us it was a life time warranty. Actually it is not. When I had my car get a free break check. I saw the guy hit my car back wheel axis very hard using a hammer after he took out the wheels, and told me my car needed to change pads/shoes/drums. I do not know why he needed to hammer my car very hard to check the breaks in the back. I am going to take my car to other shop to check whether he intended to damage my car breaks system or not. read more

Worst experience ever. As soon as i walked in the guy at the counter was looking at me with a mean face. Once he was done talking with another customer he asked me what i wanted. Not how could he help me but what did i want. He was being verbally agressive rude and disrespectful. He td ke they couldnt help me. That they would not work on my car and if they did they woukdnt give me a warranty. I asked why and he said because he didnt want to. I asked why he was actung that way with me if i had just walked in and never gave him a reason to treat me that way. He responded by saying that if i didnt like it i could go somewhere else. STAY AWAY!!! GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!! These guys publish what appears to be good coupons, but when you get there, they will do everything possible to inflate your bill by adding additional services. On top of it they don't do a good job. Also the person in front is rude and condesending. On two separate occasions, I went to them for an advertised $50 front end alignment. Both times I ended up paying about $450. First time they said my rotors need resurfacing, I needed brakes shoes (They charged $200 for brake pads that can be bought online for about $30). Not only that, but they did not do the alignment properly and $1000 worth of tires scrubbed off the front wheels in about a year with an obvious bad wear pattern - the tire place refused to offer a warranty because they said the alignment was not done properly. So I had to return in hopes of getting brakemasters to correct their alignment, but they claimed they did it correctly the first time and had me pay again. This second time I did the alignment they said I had worn out "tie rod ends" and charged me $290 to replace them. So to summarize: 1. They will do everything possible to inflate your bill with other services beyond what you came in for. 2. They do not do a proper job with front end alignments, had to take mine back and they did not offer to fix thier mistake. 3. The brake pads and other part prices are very inflated. Expect to pay significantly more than you can buy online. 4. The front office staff in the Simi Valley store is very very very rude So GO SOMEWHERE ELSE for your auto services. I needed an alignment and this place was recommended by America's Tire. After I had dropped it off I got a call and was told that I needed to spend another $365.00 for a new tie rod. Not knowing much about tie rods but knowing that it was certainly possible given that I had just gotten new struts and, because the old ones were bad, the tie rods could have easily gotten worn down from all the shaking. But it was only 1 and I've since learned that I can get new tie rods for around $35.00 (some for way less!) and the labor's not that intensive. So $365.00? To top it off, the alignment wasn't right. I took it back in, they checked it, and said it was fine even though it was really pulling to the right. So I drive it another 10,000 miles and I need brand new tires - turns out, I need new rear bearings and shocks but these boneheads couldn't tell that. This is not someplace I'd go again, ever. America's Tire, in my opinion, is the best place to buy tires in SoCal because of their excellent service but they should really rethink who they recommend for an alignment. read more

Bill (owner?) quoted $80 brake flush for BMW 328i over the phone. I Showed up then the price was $100! After I brought up this point he said, ok $90 even though he he said $80! Then he said why don't you just take it to the dealer and stopped work on the car. He went on to say he has no way to reset the BMW service light notification. WOW! I recommend going somewhere that takes more pride in customer service. Bill's not trying very hard. I had brakes done before on my 1997 BMW 540i that are fine. The manager was super nice & funny, which made my wait time go by faster. He even replaced a burnt out tail light for free, whereas Jiffy Lube or somewhere would have charged me.
