I had a problem with my air conditioner and heating and took my car into Perry's. This particular service turned out to require a proprietary dealer tool in order to diagnose so they took my car across town to the dealer, negotiated the repair cost down on my behalf and transported my car to and from multiple times to complete all troubleshooting and repairs. They did all of this without charging me and only passed through the negotiated discount rate from the dealer. It's not often you e counter a truly honest car repair service and even less rare to find one that goes above and beyond to provide superb service. I took a car I was purchasing here for an inspection and was told other than brakes and a possible leak, the car was in great shape. It's an older car and was to be expected but what I wasn't told was that I needed three engine mounts replaced - they were cracked or completely broken. The throttle body and trap hose was broken and needed replaced. And the knock sensor needs replaced. Basically $2000 dollars worth of repairs that they didn't find. If I knew, I could have negotiated the price down more but I trusted their opinion. They should have done a better job with the inspection and told me the truth about all the repairs needed. The car was only purchased a month ago, I'm so furious I trusted them. Sadly they knew the previous owner of the car so I think they were being shady on their behalf. Highly Recommended I was referred to Perry's 3 years ago by a friend who has had much work done on her vehicles and has been very satisfied with the service. My wife and I are in the process of restoring an old Jeep, and we have had a lot of work done here. Ken is very helpful and will find the parts I want if factory parts are not available. He will stand behind the work, and will take time to make anything right if need be. I recently had to take my vehicle in for several issues, and some diagnostics. They kept after it until we figured out what was going on, and he didn't charge me for some of the time for the diagnostic work and got it done right. He will also not charge me for some smaller things (changing a lamp etc.) when working on a bigger job, I appreciate that. If I'm stuck, he will give me a ride which helps a great deal. It's a family owned and operated shop, so one does not have to deal with a disinterested, commissioned service writer just trying to ram as many invoices through each day as possible (and then acing as if he'd never seen you before if you come back with an issue.) Most important: Ken is honest and will shoot straight. The staff is family, the mechanics are friendly and helpful, so I'm really happy to have found this shop! No stars at all. I took my car in there to be worked on & a part was back ordered & I had to do all the legwork myself to run it down & work with the wholeseller to actually find the right part. He also rekeyed the car & it got unlocked from the outside. When I asked him about it. He flew off the handle & told me I was accusing him of making more keys which I didn't. They didn't work is all I told him. Then he told me to take the part I had done all day he legwork on & F off basically. Trustworthy, efficient and straight to the point. I needed a brake service so that's what brought me into Perry's. I brought my vehicle in after a collision repair from another shop. It did not feel right after the collision repair and my vehicle was making a new noise. Ken got my car in same day, let me know I did in fact need a full brake job and a replacement on my right rear wheel bearing. He confirmed that the other shop had indeed failed to replace my inner tie rod, only replacing the outer tie rod. 1st time at Perrys for me. Made appointment, and they held to the appointment time, replaced both rear struts/ oil change, and looked over front end as I asked them to. Work performed is good and about 1/2 of the cost of previous shop estimated we used to go to ( and spend lots) wish had come here first, but live and learn. I used to take my Honda Civic to the dealership to get repaired, but after the service warranty expired, I took it to Perry's after hearing raves about their service, fair pricing and honesty. (The trifecta in my book)! I have never regretted it, and I have been going to them since 2005. As a woman, mechanics usually try to pull EXPENSIVE wool over our eyes assuming women know nothing about cars. Perry's DOES NOT do this. The mechanics talk TO US, not at us. They are not condescending or dishonest. The service is EXCELLENT. What I love most is they CALL the car owner if they find some more repairs to be done to ask permission to do the repairs BEFORE doing them! (How's that for honesty)! As far as the negative reviews go, all people have an "off day," but the 5-star ratings far outnumber the negative. read more

I've gone to Perry's twice now, the second time was to replace the radiator in my 2005 Infiniti G35. The first time I went in, I had to have my car towed to the shop, which was recommended by my cousin who works for Napa Auto Parts. My cousin figured I needed a fuel pump based on the assessment I provided, but thankfully, before Ken authorized his guys to proceed with the fuel pump, he decided to check the gas tank. Lo and behold, it was empty. My fuel gauge had stopped working months before, which I could manage, but what I didn't know was that the sensor in the dual chamber fuel tank was broken. Bottom line, Ken charged me for an hour of labor since it was something he could not fix, only the manufacturer. Honest and reasonably priced. Perry's now does the work on all our cars! read more

I pretty much gave up working on cars roughly two years ago. My wife's check engine light came on so I decided to check it with my OBD2 tool which came back with a Cylinder 1 Misfire. With this information, it's possibly a bad spark plug, ignition wire (in our case, a coil-on-wire setup), or worse, a compression leak. I find Perry's Quality Auto Repair which is right around the corner from my home. We dropped the car off specifically identifying the problem. I get a call roughly two hours later stating the spark plugs, ignition wires, and a re-flash of the PCM (WTH) needs to be done which totaled over $600.00 or $400.00 without the PCM re-flash. Yes I was told a "PCM re-flash". At this point, I picked up the car the next morning in which I'm told there is a diagnostic charge of $55.00 which is supposedly 1/2 of what the actual charge is. $110.00 for a diagnostic charge? Are you guys SICK???? That's the last time I will ever trust any auto mechanic service. I purchased the coil-on-wire setup, spark plugs, gap tool, anti-seeze, and some gloves from AutoZone which was a little under $150.00. The entire process took me 35 minutes and now the car is running great. Looks like I will be setting up my garage again for this type of work. P.S. Your labor charges are outrageous. We've been taking our cars to Perry's for years and as far as I know they've been honest about what our cars needed. Recently I took our Honda Civic in to see why the air conditioner wasn't working. Ken told my I needed a compressor and blower motor resistor and would cost me around $350.00. I had a feeling it was something electrical so I went and bought the resistor and put it in myself. It cost me a total of $33.00. If I didn't check it myself they would have gotten away with selling me something I didn't need. I won't be brining my cars there again. read more

I've been taking my cars to Quality Auto for many years (when Perry took it over from Ralph and they were on Easy St., now to Ken) and have always had a great experience. They get the job done right the first time and stand behind their work. I've had instances where the dealership says I need repairs, but when I take it to Quality Auto, it turns out I don't need them or the issue isn't as urgent as the dealer made it out to be. Just recently, I took the car in to have the tires rotated. Quick in and out, move some tires around, easy. However, during the rotation, the "heads up" mechanic noticed some play in one of the wheels on the front of the car - not noticeable driving, but enough for the mechanic to see. Well I went back too Perry's and had some work done on my vehicle. Ken fixed my water pump and all other leaking issues. (Aka gaskets! ) The thermostat in my vehicle was changed too. The only thing that seemed odd to me was my windshield wiper reservoir box "y" connection when receiving vehicle back was disconnected and broken. I took a picture of it and called Ken. I was also having issues with the new thermostat running cold blooded. I had Ken Change too a 192 OE instead of the 180 put in. Runs better now. Ken fixes broken "Y" connection no charge and new thermostat 192. I'm happy for now. Perry's has upped their star with me. read more

Very happy customer. Was driving home from work and my car started acting up, luckily at time did not have my kids and I was just entering Simi. I called my parents they referred me to Perry's . Dropped off my car overnight and completed envelope form and dropped it in the drop box. I called next morning just so I can properly introduce myself and address the car issue but my surprise they were looking into it already based on the details I privided. Hour or 2 later got call and authorized for them to proceed. High Five on that for asking first and explaining to me in detail as what the issue was. Wow where do i begin. Perrys is probably the most honest and reliable car shop I have ever been to. I been with them for 3 years we're still going strong! Ken and Yvette are all super awesome and let me play with there dogs when I'm waiting for my car. The mechanics Jesse and Carlos are the real MVPs straight up homies there definitely the best part.
