I normally do not leave reviews especially bad ones but feel the need to warn others of this place. We took our car here to get the brakes checked out. They informed us the master cylinder needed to be replaced for $700- we agreed. When we went to pick up our car they stated that while bleeding the lines another piece broke and it would now be $1200. They never informed us at the beginning that this could possibly break. We either had to pay $1200 to get our car back or $700 and get it towed since it was un-drivable without the new piece. We had to get an Uber and a rental car. After going back and worth they never accepted responsibility for their actions. We ended up signing over the title and never getting our car back. I would give zero stars if I could HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. Also spoke to the employees and customers at UPS across the street who have heard several bad reviews as well. Please beware! read more

I just want to start off by saying the staff here is super friendly. Great guys, and as a woman I feel very comfortable trusting these guys with my car. I travel 5xs a week to Phoenix for work and they always taKe care of me. Today I took my car in because I was having issues with my heater, they also told me I had cracks in my belt(another auto shop also told me this so I knew they weren't bs'ing me) and kept me updated along the way. It was a 4 hour wait, but nonetheless all issues fixed. I will continue coming there for more service, especially my oil changes. Made an appointment beforehand...Friday at 1:30pm. Appointments are made starting 2 hours out. Arrived 20 minutes before my appointment time. Brett was working the front desk. He was courteous and friendly. There was one other person in the lobby. The lobby was clean and orderly. Another person arrived to inquire about a precious day service. Again Brett was courteous and listened to customer's issue before responding. More people arrived for service shortly after me. My car was taken in 5 minutes ahead of appointment. Picked a possible slower time. In dealing with another customer, happened to be Brett, he sat down next to the customer, explained what was discovered as part of a previously occurring issue. After explaining what was wrong, the service and timeframe to complete, he provided what appeared to be the cost breakdown and asked if the customer wanted to continue with the work. The customer explained that right now was not possible. Brett acknowledged that and did not pressure or try to "sell" the work again. Just had the same experience as the other customer's. Again it was Brett (he's the front counter guy so I'm guessing that's why). One thing he discussed that came up he advised me to go to the car dealership based on warranty and work related aspects that it would be better for me to do that. There was an additional service he recommended but I didn't have time for it. He did not pressure me to get it done. Just said he'd be happy to have it done the next time I was in. Back on the road in about an hour. Full service oil change with point inspections and tire rotation (upon request). Side notes: There's free wifi, restrooms, and water. I've been coming here for 3 of my cars to be serviced for a few years and usually they are great, very quick for your basic oil service. This particular time I asked specifically If they would check my tire pressure and condition of the trans fluid. They never addressed the trans fluid, so I assume they don't need the extra business. When I went back in to ask about the tire pressure because light was still on, I was basically lied to. He said you have to to drive it around, which is not true. Bottom line he didn't want to deal with it so he said take it over to Discount Tires. So I took it to discount tire and sure enough they didn't even bother to check pressure at Brake Masters. Absolutely outrageously poor customer service! I went in at 7:30am on a Saturday to receive an oil change. I asked the device gentlemen if there were any coupon specials that he was aware of. He stated, "I haven't seen any in a long time." I should have kept my keys at that moment because I knew that was a lie. They mail them all of the time! When I returned to pick up my vehicle, he was charging me nearly $40 for an oil change!! I had pulled up a coupon for $19.95 and he says, we gave you a full service and that's not the coupon for a full service. I did NOT ask for a full service oil change. He didn't even ask me what type of oil Change I'd like!! To make matters worse, there was a coupon right there on the counter for $16.95!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO HERE!! Don't trust for work beyond brakes or minor in nature. They gave me a $2100 estimate (costing me $98) that was for work that wouldn't have fixed my engine problem. I took my truck elsewhere and it was fixed for $650 by repairs that were completely different than what Brake Masters had recommended. Good thing that I had not taken their word for it!! read more

I took a trip down to casa grande for thanksgiving to visit family and my car decided to break down had fixed by brake master in casa grande only to have my vehicle break down yet again just out side of buckeye I have to say the staff at this location were friendly courteous and really did everything to fix my car right. I had an appointment at 8am. The manager Rick Gomez checked me in. He told me it would take a few hours to complete my service. I went back at 10am and my car had not been looked at. I took my truck to get the brakes inspected, I was told that the front rotors and pads needed to be replaced. Which I believed was the case because the truck is fairly old. The price to get this done was $765.00 ! I'm not a mechanic but I'm not ignorant either. So I took my truck to Brakes Plus across the street literally, said nothing to them about the quote I received from Brake Masters. The mechanics at Brakes Plus quoted me $298.00 to complete the same repairs, a $463.00 difference ! I will never take any of my vehicles to Brake Masters. If you do, take an hour and get a second opinion, that hour could save you hundreds of dollars literally. read more

Brought my car there for a front wheel alignment. Took care of the alignment with no problem but I didn't realize I had a bad front wheel bearing and needed to get that replaced. After dealing with another shop who replaced the wheel bearing I noticed my car was now pulling to the right badly. I called brake Masters back and spoke with Brandon who told me to get the car to his shop so he could look at it. I obviously didn't want to have to pay again for another wheel alignment seeing as how I already paid just two days ago. But I also understand that they are not a shop that is supposed to do work for free especially if it is my error and not theirs. I got the car in Saturday morning first thing they put it on the lift checked it out, when they were done Brandon just handed me my keys and said come see us soon. No charge. They had to readjust the alignment But now my car rides straight and everything is good. Happy that he understood my issue and was able to work with me and I will bring my car back to them for future business. That's what good customer service is supposed to be like. Excellent service! Our pick up truck broke down in the middle of the day in the middle of the desert on the 10 Freeway. The tow truck driver took us to Brake Masters. They were short employees, however, the employee who was in charge personally took care of us. He started diagnostic testing immediately. From the moment that the tow truck pulled into the Brake Masters driveway until we were back on our way to our daughter's house in Scottsdale was 1 hour. Came here for the first time to use an oil change coupon that I made an online appointment for the night before. Despite other reviews, I had a very pleasant experience where I was politely greeted by an employee who quickly got my vehicle started on upon my arrival at opening time. An hour later I was called and my vehicle was finished. I did notice that even though the full service oil change I paid for was to include a tire rotation, apparently they only do this by request which admittedly I find stupid. The store manager Jason was very polite as well in explaining this to me and was understanding of my confusion over such a strange practice. He told me next time I'm in he will take care of it and even offered to perform the rotation on the spot, but I was pressed for time. I will be returning for a transmission flush next and look forward to their excellent service again as well as my tire rotation. read more

Had brake Masters go completely through the brake system on our Handicap van, and it needed a lot. Virtually every component was replaced. This did not surprise me, given the unscrupulous scumbags I bought it from. (see my review on Jabers Truck & Auto) They did a great job in a timely manner. Two of the components replaced were both front disc rotors and front wheel bearings. Three month after the repair, the front left wheel bearing suffers catastrophic failure. I was just glad it was me driving it and not my wife when it occurred. It got really squirrelly, as the wheel came close to shearing off. Anyway, Brake Masters honored their work, fixed it all no charge, even paid my cab fare to come get it when it was done. I place no blame on them for the bearing failure, they did not make the bearing, and it sucks for them to have to cover it. So, five stars for going above and beyond the call of duty. After the oil change, I presented a $17.95 coupon from Sun Devil Auto at which time Larry told me I should have told him earlier so he could honor it. When I reminded him I did, he said I needed to have shown it to him physically first. He said I could use it next time and charged me $29.95. He must think I was born yesterday if he thinks I would give him another opportunity to service my car. It is extremely poor customer service to tell me one thing, do another, and then to tell me he will honor his word next time. First off I would like to say the shop itself was clean and the staff seemed friendly. But the down fall was I had an appointment to get my tires rotated on my truck and a oil change and it ended up taking them three hours to do it. As I set in the waiting room I notice 10 out of 10 customers that were having there cars worked on the guy at the desk would tell them they needed extra work done. My thoughts were either the people around here don't keep there vehicles up or this company is trying to rip all these customers out of there hard earned money. Well my truck was done, so as I came up to counter sure enough he said they discovered that my truck needed brakes( which was true) and rotors. I knew then he was trying to con me into buying rotors, which I knew was a lie. The quote he give me was unbelievable high. So I took my truck to the Ford dealership to get brakes put on and they said the rotors are fine, and I ended up saving hundreds of dollars! (700 dollars to be exact) Overall I will not do business with BRAKE MASTERS again. If you go here just be careful and if they say you need more done, take the good route and take your car somewhere to get a second opinion like I did. OK, this is not a reflection on this particular store, more for Brake Masters as a whole, the corporate offices. We went in to get an oil change and to have our brakes checked. While our vehicle was in their care it was totaled. Granted, we acknowledge it was not their fault. It comes down to "not what is the decent thing to do" but "whose fault is it". We initially were told "we will take care of you no matter what" to now "it is not our fault". Here we entrust our car into their care to driving home with nothing. We were led to believe that they would help us out with a rental car until the insurances could step in and help us. Great costumer service, right? Well, they pretty much washed their hands of us. Hey, they did give us a ride home, I guess they "legally" didn't even have to do that much..... We will never use their services again and hope this influences others to "beware". read more
