I called last Saturday to make an appointment for Monday. I let them know it was a dually 3500 and that i need it repaired ASAP as i was supposed to leave this morning to drive to Ohio. I get there at 8am. Drop my truck. At 8:15 they call and tell me the truck is too big. Make sure they can accommodate you before you show up. Needless to say I am pretty hot. So my 2014 Ford Fusion has started to overheat so I have taken it to this Brakes Plus and within 20 minutes they have told me that it's my condenser (where it was behind the radiator fan) then called again and then told me a different story. Finally James has told me that he would "start" at my radiator fan. They didn't give me a proper diagnosis of what's wrong with my car and I have wasted $100 out of my pocket in order to get my car out of there. Brought my car in for a "premium" oil change. Spent way too much even with a coupon. Made an appointment ahead of time but they still had my car for most of the day. Was told they would inspect my car to make sure everything looks good; however, they seemed to have missed checking my coolant, for a month has gone by and the fluid was way below the low line. Now I'm not sure if my car was fully inspected. Can't trust them with my car again and prices are too expensive. read more

My husband spent two hours there for a quote today to have rotors resurfaced and brake pads put in the rear of our vehicle. It was $800. He left and went somewhere else and was able to do it for $320. Do not go here, they are scammers! Brought my car in for a typical alignment. Came back that they couldn't do it because of something with the car. They quoted me over 1500 to "fix" whatever needed to be "fixed" before they could do the alignment. I knew something was off so I brought it to a mechanic the same day :) and guess what?? The mechanic quoted me $300 to fix my vehicle not no ridiculous $1500. Do not go here or any brakes plus in general. They might scam you out of a large sum of cash and potentially (Avondales brakes plus) will damage your vehicle to get more $$$ out of you (many have reported that Avondales brakes plus does this) read more

I stopped at Brakes Plus in Goodyear, Az. to inquire whether they could fix, what I thought was, a timing issue with my 2014 Honda Accord 3.5L. From the moment I entered the lobby I felt welcomed and completely at ease with the staff. Yoshi, the counter representative, properly greeted me and was immediately attentive to the issue with my car. After a short explanation as to what was going on with my car the general manager himself, Johnny Nguyen, personally went outside with me to take a quick look under the hood. With complete honesty, yet confidence, he let me know that the issue would require further troubleshooting. I left my car at the shop and was called back a few hours later. I was informed that the issue was indeed a timing matter and that they had the in-house expertise for the required repair. Also, Mr. Nguyen gave me a personal guarantee that his master technician could have it repaired by close of business the following day. I was also given a thorough explanation and very reasonable price quote for the parts, labor, warranty, and total cost. At this point I had complete confidence that I had stopped at the right repair shop. A complete OEM timing kit, which includes a new water pump, was installed and my ten-year old Honda (93k mi.) sounds like it did when it was brand new. I arrived at Brakes Plus at 10am on a Tuesday and my car was ready for pick up at 3pm Wednesday (the very next day). This place has not only the honesty, but also the competence, to get the job done promptly and at a reasonable price. I write this review with complete peace of mind. My confidence in this repair facility cannot be overstated. I do not think I will ever go anywhere else for car repairs. Not often do you go into an auto repair shop and receive good news regarding the inspection results of your brakes. No upsale attempt and was so impressed with the thoroughness and quick service that I had them do a scheduled oil change, which saved me another $25 from the dealership normal price. I have a major complaint with this location Brakes Plus. I took my truck in 3 months ago and had my frond brakes replaced and rotors turned. When I got my vehicle back I noticed it was making a minor noise when I would step on the brakes. Sounded like a frog croaking and it only kept getting worst. So I took it back 6 ish weeks later to get inspected and was told that nothing was wrong. So I went another 6 ish weeks driving like this. The noise only got even more worst, so I took it back again. They told me they took the drivers side brakes apart and reinstalled them and that it should be fixed. Then after 2 more months it's still making noise and I took it in for a third time. I was told a third time that it was normal and nothing was wrong. So now almost 5 months out I decided to go else where to have it inspected. The diagnosis was they used the old hardware on my new brake pads. The old hardware also had to be replaced which should have come with the brake pads. So after all this these people lied and made me lose time and money. I paid for a service and expect to be done professionally, not lied to and dicked around. I will never go there again and will not recommend this place. Go elsewhere and save your self money and time. read more

First time using Brakes Plus. Oil change and front brakes. They called and said I needed rear shocks and gave a deal on fronts and back, while it was there might as well get all of them done. When I went to pick up my truck they had forgotten to tell me the air filter needing to be changed and they gave it to me at no charge. They also gave me coupon discounts. As tough as it is to find good, reliable, & trustworthy repair shops/mechanics these days, I can't say enough good things about these guys. I've got 1 car, & I need it working. They've helped me out multiple times when I had emergency issues come up. If they see or find something, they let you know as a courtesy & whether it needs attention soon or can wait. They don't just look for or make up problems to make a buck. I'd recommend these guys to anyone for any of the many repairs/maintenance/service they perform! I took my wife's minivan here twice now for an alignment and BOTH times they ripped the rubber bellow on the rack & pinion gear! These are VERY difficult to replace without screwing up the alignment again! The 1st time I took it there I looked @ it as soon as I got home (10 miles approx.) and one of the jam-nuts wasn't even tightened up against the outer tie-rod! The 2nd time I made a 1:30 appointment and didn't get my vehicle back until 3:30!?! To be fair, I have had a couple of good experiences with this place in the past but really guys? Two hours solid for an alignment only WITH an appointment? AND I'm left with a torn boot that I have 2 fix myself now so that my new-ish inner tie rod doesn't get ruined by dirt or moisture!?! They took really good care of my car. I went because I could hear the sound that lets you know that your breaks are going bad. I went in, and they checked all my breaks but only replaced the ones that needed to be replaced and fixed another problem I did not know I had as well. I've taken my Lexus here a few times before mainly for alignments after suspension/tire changes. Johnny is the man when it comes to greeting customers and getting them taken care of, in fact every employee I've encountered here is friendly and here to work. Depending on what you're having done, it can take a while, I believe my alignment was done in about an hour from when I first arrived. The only downside I could really say is that you're going to need an appointment, last time I checked they do walk ins but they're also very busy. With an appointment you're pretty much golden, you can also stay in the lobby if you're waiting with your vehicle, nice AC and there are a decent amount of chairs. read more

This is a review for the Brakes Plus on Estrella Parkway... I am not reviewing the workmanship of the facility. This review is to share the apathy that I received when I came in with brakes literally not working and a willingness to spend money... Armando said that they wouldn't even be able to look at my brakes today (was there at 1600. They close at 1800) and that I would have to wait until the first available appointment which would be the next day at 1 PM. This was after stating my brakes were indeed not working correctly. It seems as though company employees are perfectly ok with losing business so that they don't have to work too hard. It was very disappointing to be very scared to continue driving a vehicle that I have to mash down on the brakes and put it in park while at a light, and employees couldn't care less and definitely couldn't offer any solutions... I guess I was hoping for more. My bad. Won't be returning to BrakesPlus. read more

Took my truck here after towing a boat trailer from CA. and experienced brake noise and pedal pulsing while towing. After dropping off trailer the noise and pulsing went away but I wanted to have the brake system checked before driving a long distance again. They got me in same day, completed a system check, and found everything to be in good shape. And the best part they didn't charge me for the inspection! Highly recommend!! read more

We took our vehicle in for a simple alignment. 1st alignment could not be done because some parts had to be replaced to get alignment done, So I work on my car's most the time replace the parts needed to be fixed or repaired and took back to get alignment redone. 2nd alignment The technician who was going to realign had made a mistake and cross threaded a bolt for the alignment and told his manager that it was already messed before he Started working on it. Which was bogus because I'm the only one that works on my vehicles. So I spoke to the manager Johnny Ngugen and he still said that we must have messed it up and again I explained that I'm the only one that works on my cars, his tech must have done it and didn't admit to it. So the phone call didn't get anywhere. By the way this second part was around $20... So 3rd alignment attempt was finally successful. I'm upset about the fact that they wouldn't own up to making a mistake and making it right. In this case customer wasn't right to them, so that's why this negative review is being posted, and for all you other customers be aware of these things going on with auto repair shops.. . We took our SUV in for front axle noise. Johnny the manager greeted us and took time to discuss our options. He was friendly and open, as were the others at the front counter. Their prices are listed like a menu on the wall. So while he told us the cost estimate, we could also do the math. The prices are reasonable. This car repair shop opened Spring 2019, and it was busy. There are restaurants, stores in the same retail center to walk to while you wait. Their waiting area was clean with a TV. We were able to leave our car for the day. When we picked it up, the technicians were finishing the test drive and also stopped and talked with me about the problem. This was unusual, but just gave me more ease of mind. Since I asked, they showed me the damaged part that was replaced. I liked these mechanics and their manager and I will be back. read more
