I went in for an oil change, the told me i had to wait 2 hours and a half when we got there they hadn't even moved our truck to the inside, when we talked to them they told us it was going to be another hour and that's when they went to get our keys??(meaning they had forgotten and when they saw us they went) The guy (glasses and had tattoos) in the front also had very bad customer service, my dad (Mexican who can't speak english) was given attitude by this guy, but seemed nicer to everyone else. after waiting we just asked for the keys back and didn't even receive any apologies for the inconvenience. Life threatening experience, truly. I went in for a free brake inspection and they stated I would need to get several things replaced but did not want to replace one thing without replacing everything. So they returned my car to me and at first it felt normal to when I gave it to them, meaning my car would come to a complete stop. I then pulled over in the Walmart parking lot to see if there was another place I could go and then when I tried to drive my brakes were completely gone. I could not stop, my emergency brakes were gone. Luckily I was able To put the car in park and it came to a complete stop. After having a mental break down to my dad on the phone, he informed me that they drained all my brake fluid out of my car and did not replace it. I had to wait for a mobile mechanic to come and fix my car. I just can't believe how unethical this place is. To really put my life in danger, I could have crashed or hit someone. read more

Went back they said I needed to replace compressor, $1000. no refund for the wrong diagnosis before. Took it to another auto shop, compressor is perfectly fine they just patched leaks. I was hearing a noise coming from my left front tire. And, both front tires were wearing pretty unevenly. Thought it may be the suspension since it only happened when exiting my driveway or going over speed bumps. Left my car while I was gone on a 4 day out of town trip. They called me on day 2 and said they couldn't find anything wrong other than it may need an alignment. I authorized that. When I came to pick up my car 2 days later, they handed me the keys and said no alignment necessary. Everything is fine. That it may just be dust in the springs. Great news! I will continue to take my car here for any servicing it may need. They are HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY people! They could have easily replaced parts that were not necessary and charged me a bunch of money. But they took the time to look everything over and determine I didn't need anything replaced but the 2 front tires. When I inquired at the tire shop of the last time I had purchased tires for my car, I was told it was 3 years ago. I had replaced 2 at that time. Come to find out, the tires were wearing due to them being the ORIGINAL tires! They had 112K miles on them! Great guys and great work ethic! read more

brakes plus replaced my master cylinder pad and rotors for my brakes just to have it fail and caused damage to my caliper. Also asked if I replaced just one caliper they are the only ones who have touched the car as i inherited this car from my late Grandmother in 2017. they charged $600 now I bring it back because it's only been 3 months since they worked on it and they are now saying i have to pay for the caliper, that the failed unit they put it in caused. my brakes failed after repair with myself and my kids in the car and they seem to only care about charging me more money. Andy the manager is so rude and takes no accountability. I will never be using brakes plus again and due to this situation I will be filing a lawsuit, as that is a liability. I called to request a quote for an oil change and tire rotation. The gentleman who answered the phone took my information for an appointment but refused to give me a quote or even a general idea of how much it would cost. Since I didn't want to be blind sided by an exorbitant charge, I requested to cancel the appointment, and the gentleman hung up on me. Normally, I would let this go and move on to another service center, but I find this type of business to be shady. I use to love this location. They have helped me with struts, brakes, oil changes but the customer service isn't the same as it use to be. The manager seems frustrated and has an attitude when dealing with situations. I requested filters to be changed in my car and they weren't. The manager assured me they were clean but I have not changed them in over two years, so it's hard to believe they checked. Make sure you make an appointment, of course they welcome walk ins but will push it off until the end of the day. I have gone to this Brakes Plus two times in the past year. The first time, last year I had been told by a Honda dealer that my CR-V needed new brakes. Brakes Plus checked them free of charge and told me they were fine. Last week I stopped in again for a brake check and they told me the rear brakes were good and the front had 1mm more than min. Rather than drive with that front pair, I decided to go ahead and service the front brakes. I made an appt for 8 the next day. By 8:10 my car was on the lift and at 9:20 I was driving away with new front ceramic pads and resurfaced rotors for just $221 (net of a $20 online coupon). I look at her receipt and she was charged 10 dollars for tire rotation (reallllyy??) and 10 dollars for fuel injector cleaner. It's a 2018. Why would she need that fuel injector cleaner? Let me start out with, our brakes have needed to be done for A WHILE, but because of COVID and everything, we didn't have the money to do so until now. I called ahead of time to get prices because they weren't listed anywhere on the site that I could find. The employee, Jay, who answered the phone was admittedly very nice and answered all my questions about pricing. I wanted to know what the highest end of the quote would be so I'd be prepared for that price if need be. I was told, when I asked for ALL THE BRAKES, it was $129.99 for pad replacement, rotor resurfacing, and all the labor to do my brakes. What was NOT disclosed by said employee is this is the price per TWO tires. So my actual quote should have been $260. When we dropped the car off we opted to get an alignment for $67 as well since it also needed to be done. So as of dropping the car off I had the same quote of $130+$67 for the alignment, in my head. Two hours after dropping the car off we were called and told the price would actually be either $405 for the economy warranty, or $550 with the lifetime warranty. What. The. Hell. Was my initial reaction. Only THEN was it explained to me that the original quote was only for two tires, not all four. But at this time they could still resurface my rotors and have everything done by end of day, 6pm. We dropped the car off at 1pm and received the first call at 3pm. The next call, at about 4:30pm was to then say they had already resurfaced two of my rotors but they all actually needed to all be replaced. Mind you, at this point I had been told three times that they could be resurfaced. We okayed the work, it needed to be done. But didn't feel like we should be paying full price for rotors we were told we didn't need. On top of everything with the rotors and pricing issues, front the beginning we were told multiple times it would be done by 6pm. At 5:45 we were told it wouldn't be done until the next morning. I called about payment at 11am and was told the brakes were done but the alignment still needed to be done. At noon the car was finally done. So 18 hours after I was told the car would be done, it was actually done. And our total came out to $548 AFTER my husband chewed them out about everything and they gave us almost $100 in discounts. Which I commend them for trying to make it up to us. But I don't know if we'll be taking either of our vehicles there again. read more

They claim to change the oil filter after every oil change service provided. Shortly after my oil change my car started having issues related to the lack of replacing the filter. We took our car to 2 different mechanics to be evaluated. Both mechanics agreed there was no way the filter was changed after my last oil change (pictured: old filter vs. new). quite disappointing, we won't be returning. Trust has been lost and this caused us to spend money that shouldn't have been spent in the first place to diagnose/fix our vehicle. The associate who assisted us was nice at least. read more

As we all know it's always something going wrong this time my it's vehicle. I had been seeing some coolant or oil couldn't tell which, because it had the color of coolant but the feel of oil. I called Brakes Plus and the gentleman told me to come in the morning and he would take a look at it. Went in the next morning they put my vehicle on the rack and raised it up. They found oil and coolant leak, which explains why it looked and felt like both. They priced it up fixing more items that needed to be taken care of than their competitor, whom quoted the same price with less items being fixed. I'm glad I went to Brakes Plus in Buckeye! Today 10/14/2020 was the worst experience I ever had encountered at Brakes Plus. I dropped off my SUV at 8 am this morning to see about a Oil Leak, the front desk staff asked when I would like it back and stated at 4. Never received a call or anything, I got dropped off and my SUV was in the bay just sitting behind a another vehicle. A staff member who I never seen before stated that they don't know what's going on My reply was it's been here since 8 and you guys still haven't figured it out, never got a call lack of communication horrible, they suggested to a dye test which they recommended me to bring it another day. Ever since new management took over customer service is horrible. I have had many dealings with this brakes plus of buckeye in the past that were positive experiences. However, it took a turn when they began trying to force me to buy things I didn't need (like a battery). My husband, loyal to the people at this location decided to give them another try. Welp, next thing we knew we have a defective part that they installed (that they so carefully described as 'failing prematurely' as opposed to defective) but they wanted to charge another $350 in labor to take out their defective part and re-install a new one. That was it for me. Not only were these difficult issues that aren't regular maintenance, but typically cost a pretty penny. The staff was great in keeping us informed of the issues, letting us know our options, respecting that without pressure, and completing their work within the estimated time without overpromising. Overall, it was a very professional and positive experience even though the issues took a couple of trips to fix everything we needed. My truck had completely stopped working on a Tuesday evening while I was in Tempe. It was getting no electricity what so ever. And to make matters worse. I had no power left in my cell phone and no way to charge it. I contacted AAA and they sent their battery technician out as the symptoms I described seemed battery related. Now, understand, it was approximately 5:00, I'm in Tempe and I live in Buckeye and my phone is going completely dead. Nothing was going well for me. The battery technician arrived and quickly hooked my battery up to his testing equipment and found my alternator was shot. I was absolutely devastated. I'm far from home, no money, no more emergency road side assistance calls left with AAA and here the gentleman is telling me my truck has to be towed back home. Luckily, because they couldn't fix my problem, AAA didn't count my first call so I had the free tow home. That didn't solve the problem of once I got the truck to Buckeye where did I take it to be repaired? We decided on Brakes Plus. The tow truck arrived, put my truck on the flatbed and we proceeded to head to Buckeye. When we arrived in Buckeye we dropped my truck off in the parking lot for Brakes Plus. The next morning I got up early and took a Lyft to Brakes Plus so I could explain to them what happened and see if they could help me. After being there about an hour or so they called me in and gave me the bad news: it was my alternator however, I have a unique alternator which costs about $300 for the part alone not including labor and tax. I was looking at about $500 which I really didn't have. After going in the bathroom and crying for a minute I came out and asked if I could find the part elsewhere for less would they install it. God Bless them they would. I tell you this very long story so you can understand how stressed, scared and completely devastated I was as nothing went right. But those guys took good care of me, waited patiently while I found an alternator and then went and got it, and installed it with the same care and professionalism as if it was one they provided. My bill went from over $500 to just under $200. They were not only professional, courteous and efficient but they were kind and patient. They definitely made me feel like everything was going to be ok. I will always go to them for any work needing to be done. If they don't perform the repair I will go where they recommend. You will not find better care for your vehicle or for you. read more
