I've been a customer and a huge fan of Discount Tires for over twenty years and have recommended them to several people. However, my last two appointments to the Buckeye store have been disappointing. In the past they were all about great service. Now the emphasis seems to be more about selling tires needed or not. I just got back from getting my tires rotated and balanced. I was told that I needed two new tires that have less than 23k on them (50k) warranty. I was then told that the rear two looked ok but to check the next time I came in (in 4 to 6 k miles) at the next rotation, I just bought them from Discount new less than 5 thousand miles ago. After 20+ years as a happy customer I'll be going somewhere else. Sad about it. read more

I went to get air and sat at the air section for 5 min waiting for someone to come up to me. Maybe employees would stare and me and just go back to what they were doing. I understand they were busy but at least let me know that you were putting air today or something! I ended up pulling up closer to get someone's attention and I seen about 3 guys just standing there talking and even then, they didn't want to come up to me, so finally one made eye contact with me and came up to me and I asked if they weren't adding air today or what's going on. He said that there is suppose to be a guy there but he didn't know where he was but that he'll find him. I was in a rush so I just asked if it'll be more than 2 min and he said probably yes so I said ok I'll just leave then. There was another guy next to him and they both chuckled and said ok bye have a great day. This wasn't the only time I experienced issues at this discount tire, my husband had gone for other issues and one of the workers was just plain rude to him and when the worker was giving him a tool back or something back, he purposely dropped the item and walked away. I've now given Discount Tire two chances, and both times they've messed up our vehicles and wasted hours of our time without ever taking real accountability. First, on my husband's Charger, they installed the wrong-size tires on different offset wheels. A basic mistake that never should've happened. Even with an appointment, we sat there over 3 hours waiting for them to correct their own error. That should've been my sign to never return... but then we took my Suburban in for two tires. As someone who works as a service advisor, I know how easy it is to damage a TPMS sensor during tire work. My tire light came on immediately after their service. When I called, I was told, "No problem, bring it in." With our work schedules, it took a couple of weeks to get back and suddenly they refused to take responsibility, even though the timing and symptoms were obvious. Not only did they say it "wasn't their fault," they even tried to upsell us on replacing all of the sensors, despite only one failing the one they clearly damaged. Sorry, but upsell tactics don't work on someone who actually understands the job. They eventually agreed to replace one sensor and told us it would be done "within a couple hours." Instead, my husband waited over FOUR hours for what is normally a 30-60 minute job. And when you ask for updates, all they say is, "We're falling behind," then walk away. No communication, no honesty, no accountability. When they finally pulled the Suburban out, all four TPMS lights were on, even though ONLY ONE sensor was supposed to be touched. They had to take it back in again. They "did something" and brought it out with the lights off which anyone familiar with TPMS knows probably means they just cleared the codes, not repaired the root issue. And as if all of that wasn't enough, the moment we left, the Suburban started shaking at 75 mph, something it has NEVER done. So we had to turn right back around the same day and bring it back yet again. Now we're sitting here for another hour+ while they re-mount and re-balance the two front tires something they should've done correctly the first time. This isn't one bad experience. This is a pattern: * Wrong tire sizes * Damaged sensor * Trying to upsell instead of owning their mistake * FOUR+ hours of waiting for a one-hour job * Incorrect programming that triggered all four sensors * Clearing codes instead of fixing the issue * Vehicle shaking on the freeway due to improper balancing * Having to return multiple times in one day * Zero communication, zero updates, zero professionalism Two vehicles. Multiple mistakes. Hours wasted. No accountability. read more

Scheduled an appointment online. Extremely easy to do. Got there dropped off my 90-year-old Dad's bronco sport because it had a huge spike in the back tire. Walked across had breakfast at Denny's and before we could finish, we got a text saying it was done. When I got there, the gentleman that took care of us gave me a bill of zero dollars. Don't send your daughter or wife in to do business with these guys. I typically don't leave reviews like this, but I'm so sick of people taking advantage of women. My daughter had a flat, and she had a tire covered by warranty. They admitted that it was covered by warranty but did almost nothing to help her. They told her that she'd have to buy a tire for more than three times the cost of the original, and they'd take some money off to compensate for the warranty. Their excuse was that they didn't have the tire in stock, but wouldn't look at any of the many Discount Tires in the area to see if they had one. On top of that, they told her she needed new tires in the front, even though they're less than 1 year old and she barely drives. I proceeded to call and try and discuss, once the man who answered realized I was asking about my daughter's vehicle he told me he was with another customer (which was clearly a lie) and put me on hold for more than 15 minutes. I am a positive person and very level headed with this stuff, but this is textbook sales tactic garbage and hit home. Help your customers, especially the 19-year-old trying to make ends meet. Wow. What an unbelievable experience this past Saturday, 8 16 25 late in the day. Have been a Discount Tire customer for 20+ years, never at the Watson store. Had an emergency tire replacement. I never trust sales people... I called before actually going to the store and was quoted $144.40 for the tire we needed... When we got there they didn't have that tire and charged my grandson almost $600.00 for 2, yes two new tires. They straight up took advantage of him!!! Been here twice in the same week for 2 different vehicles. Had appointment the 1st time and took an hour over quoted time. The person in front of me had same appointment and was gone before mine was even in the bay. 2nd vehicle, more of the same. No appointment, but was told an hour and 15 for completion. I am here now at 1 and 45 minutes and vehicle is not even in the bay. Manager Pat said he was new and would handle it. What a joke. All talk, no action. We had to "limp" into Discount tires on a busy Saturday to have work done on our RV after a roadside incident damaged a tire stem beyond repair on a tire we had just replaced earlier in the same day at a different shop. In order to get to Discount tires, AAA had to "rig" a new ill fitting tire stem with a plastic baggie for the tire to hold air. We decided to be safe and replace all 6 tires on our RV. We were grateful Discount got us in and did the work in 2 hours as promised. That's where the good ends. Upon inspection of the work we noted that they had covered some of our tire sensors and 2 hubs needed adjusting to allow us access to those sensors. Worse yet, we lost pressure in a tire heading up into Flagstaff. We made it to Winslow, barely, after having to stop and fill the tire repeatedly. A leaking valve stem was to blame-Discount reused the ill fitting valve stem instead of using a new one! This cost us more time and money and should not have happened, lives depend on their work. When you have a toddler and specifically schedule an appointment for one tire to be replaced I would expect to get it done at the time of the appointment and not 45 minutes later. They will take advantage of anyone. My mom and I were driving to Tucson from Ca when I started to lose tire pressure fast. Luckily, this place was nearby. The salesman told me the tire couldn't be repaired because it already had a patch from a previous repair. He also said that unfortunately they didn't carry the exact same tire, but that considering all my tires were pretty bad, I should just get the 4 tire package for about $1000. I told him I'd last taken my car in to the dealership for an oil change and they hadn't mentioned anything about me needing new tires and that I'm the only one that drives my car and that that tire had never been repaired. He insisted it had been. I knew he was lying. So I asked him if they could just put the spare tire on for me. Meanwhile my husband in California had already started making calls and found a new and used tire shop in Phoenix that had my size tire so I drove there. They ended up not selling me the tire because it was a simple $20 repair job. They confirmed what I already knew, the tire had no previous patch repair. We live in Southern AZ, about 140 miles from Buckeye. While going through Phoenix, the check tire light came on. We were on our way to our daughter's wedding in CA. I drove in from Tustin, CA to visit my parents and got a non repairable flat 2 hours into the drive. Every 30 mins I had to refill the flat till I got home @ 6 last night. I called around this morning and this place was the only place that had my desired tire in stock. Once they took in my vehicle after I payed they found out that it was mistagged as 245/35/R19 instead of 275/35/R19. To help me Kenny said he would order the correct one to the store and have it installed by tomorrow morning. In the meantime since I have to head to work @ 12 he authorized a brand new tire as a loaner until I come back to put on the tire I had purchased. Nail in my tire. Went to have it fixed. Forced to sit outside in AZ heat with 100+ degrees for an hour and a half before my car was ever seen. Great social distancing happening MG with everyone forced outside but crowded around the open door so they can get a little relief from the ac. And of course i wont forget the lack of forethought in setting seating up in the parking lot where other douche bag customers park with their engines running so that the heat and fumes can be blown on ana breathed in by those in the 'sitting area' 1) if you are going to make people sit outside in Arizona GET A LARGE FAN 2) if you are going to set up setting in the heat outside block off the parking spaces around the area so your inconsiderate customers don't park with their engines on next to people The only good thing to say is, your team is polite and professional So start thinking through what you are doing. read more

Ric at Discount Tire was a serious stress reliever this past week. We had planned a 10-day road trip of a lifetime from Arizona to Yellowstone and back. In planning, I had just purchased new tires with the warranty certificates. We made it to Yellowstone and had an amazing first day there. On day two, we woke up super early (4:00-ish) to see the wildlife before the park got busy. On our way into the park, it was super foggy. Unfortunately that left us blind to a HUGE rock. Of course, our tire hit the rock and slowly started to deflate. If you've been to Yellowstone you know there is absolutely ZERO reception there. We had to continuously inflate the tire with our portable air machine to get back out of the park to service. Mind you, everything is closed because it's only 5:30 am! We got back to our cabin and waited patiently for a tire shop to open. Luckily, our home town Discount Tire opened an hour earlier! I called in, disappointed in the fact that I'd just bought these tires and that I'd already damaged one, but even more disappointed that there wasn't a Discount Tire for almost 150 miles. No WAY was I going to pump that thing up every ten miles until we got there. I thought I was going to have to just purchase a new tire and lose the warranty on it. When I called our Buckeye store, Ric answered, and completely turned around my day. He was kind and reassuring, letting me know I would NOT lose my warranty certificate on the tire. All I had to do was take a photo of the damage and keep the receipt! When I got back, they would reimburse me for the tire and put the correct one on! I highly recommend these certificates, as I've had so many tires damaged due to construction zones, potholes, etc. When I got home, I called to see if my tire was in stock, and Ric answered, not only remembering my story, BUT MY NAME TOO. I came in and immediately felt welcomed and was serviced so quickly. In the middle of the night we hit a series of potholes on I-10 eastbound west of mile marker 78 in Arizona (not sure why that stretch of road hasn't been fixed!!!) and had to have my vehicle towed so I had it sent to Discount Tire. I was able to coordinate everything over the phone when they opened. I dealt with three different sales representatives and ALL THREE WERE WORTHY OF 5 STAR RATINGS! This place was amazing yesterday and really helped us when we blew a tire on the I-10 hitting a pothole just outside Tonopah, AZ. After we finally got a tow truck, we called and asked if we made it before closing if they could help us replace the tire. Everyone was very accommodating to me, with two very tired children after sitting on the side of the I-10 for three hours. We arrived with about 20 minutes to spare, they got us right in, a new tire mounted, balanced and on the car and we were back on the road. John was especially helpful and took great care of us. Not that we'll be in the neighborhood very often (living in Mesa, AZ) but if anyone asks for recommendations in the far West Valley, we'll send them your way with no hesitation. read more
