I was flat out shocked when, a couple of days after I agreed to the very reasonable quote to have some stumps ground, the guys from Fine Tree Care came out and completed the job to perfection. As if this wasn't impressive enough service, Tim stopped by a couple of days later to make sure I was happy with the job. I'm not used to this level of competence, professionalism, service, and old-school courtesy. I was pleased to learn that Tim is a certified arborist, so I absolutely plan to get Fine Tree Care back over for some more delicate tree work. I absolutely, without reservation recommend Fine Tree Care.

I highly recommend MG Tree--and I hope you'll take a minute to understand why…read more I got 5 estimates before choosing them. Price is important, but with tree work, I believe safety, experience, equipment, and professionalism matter just as much. From the beginning, MG Tree impressed me. Their website is excellent--professional, easy to navigate, and packed with useful information. Their sales representative, Joe Hayden, arrived promptly, was professional, and had an estimate for me within hours. Best of all, he didn't try to upsell me or walk around my property looking for other work to sell me. The job itself was challenging. I have two very tall tulip poplars, my yard is on a hill, and the trees sit right on the property line with a driveway on each side. MG Tree showed up with the right equipment--a crane and bucket capable of reaching about 50 feet and maneuvering from one location to another. Other companies were talking about ropes, lifts, and repeatedly moving equipment around. That made me nervous. The crane gave the crew tremendous control over the trees, timber, and debris. Nothing was damaged. The foreman, Damian, was pleasant, polite, and professional. They did everything I asked for and more. And when they left, the cleanup was so thorough that you could hardly tell they had been there. Here's the part that really surprised me: despite having better equipment and a very professional operation, their price was extremely competitive--in some cases about half the price of less-equipped companies. When I considered safety, knowledge, professionalism, equipment, price, and the quality of the finished job, MG Tree was a perfect 10 for me. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend MG Tree.

I am submitting this complaint regarding what I believe were deceptive, coercive, and retaliatory…read morebusiness practices by a tree removal company. I contracted with the company to perform tree removal services at my residence and paid $5,000 for the project. The crew arrived at approximately 8:30 a.m. and departed around 3:30 p.m. After inspecting the property, I discovered that a portion of the agreed-upon work remained unfinished. Based on the scope of the remaining work, it appeared that less than one additional hour of labor by a single worker would have completed the job. The following day, I contacted the company and requested that they return to finish the work for which I had already paid. Rather than honoring what I believed to be their contractual obligation, I was informed that the company would not return unless I paid additional money. In effect, I was asked to pay more in order to receive services that should have been completed under the original agreement. What should have been a routine customer-service matter quickly escalated into a campaign of intimidation. When I disputed the demand for additional payment and continued to request completion of the work, the company's manager threatened legal action against me. Instead of attempting to resolve the dispute professionally, company representatives resorted to personal attacks and accusations unrelated to the services provided. Most troubling, I received written threats that the company would contact my employer and my husband's employer in an effort to "expose" me as a racist. These threats were made despite the fact that I had not published any review, made any public statements, or otherwise damaged the company's reputation. At the time the threats were issued, I had merely stated that I was considering leaving a review regarding my experience. The company's conduct appeared designed to silence a dissatisfied customer through fear, intimidation, and threats of professional harm. Threatening to interfere with a customer's employment because that customer requested completion of contracted work is wholly inappropriate and, in my view, constitutes retaliatory conduct intended to suppress legitimate consumer complaints. Rather than addressing concerns regarding incomplete work, the company responded with threats of litigation, threats to contact employers, accusations of racism, and warnings that their legal team would pursue claims against me. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed by the Federal Trade Commission to determine whether the company's conduct constitutes unfair or deceptive business practices, consumer intimidation, or retaliation against a customer attempting to resolve a dispute regarding incomplete services. I have retained documentation of the relevant communications, including the written threats referenced above, and am prepared to provide them upon request.

We have been so glad we found Matt and TLC Landscape Services for various work around our home…read more They were highly recommended to us and quickly saved the day for us with a big yard mess and challenges when we didn't know where to turn. They have given us excellent suggestions and recommendations for a number of 'Dream Projects'. When we were ready to start some of these, they worked us into their schedule in a timely manner, and when it was our time the crew began the installation of our new front patio, vastly improving our vague ideas to make our house look amazing -- in 2-1/2 days!! That includes all the super clean up 'after' the hard work was completed. The crew was great, kind, caring, and very communicative, both to seek our input on choices and to be sure we were aware of the process and status of various stages of the work. They were each an artist in their work, and our project was made so beautiful by the talents they shared. We are already planning to have TLC add a pergola to the porch later in the summer. AND we are thinking ahead to some winter/ indoor projects for which they can bring the broad / and specific skill sets that will be needed. This is not a huge company with a mob of "anybodies" to churn and turn; no, this is a smaller group of people with excellence to bring to each project they undertake. They know what to do and they do it well and with pride in doing it right. The cost is so reasonable, and they give more value than they charged us for. When you deal with craftsmen, artisans at what they do, who are doing a great job for you, you wait with appreciation for your turn - knowing they are going to treat you with patience, attention, care, and skill. And you will be proud to claim the results!
