I called a few weeks ago to have an estimate done for a tall pine tree that was way too close to the house and some old termite infested stumps ground up in my back yard. The same day I got an estimate for the work at a very reasonable price and within a week the pine tree was down and 2 weeks later the stumps were ground down and the guys did a great job ensuring little no damage to my fence posts and grass. They evened out the ground nicely, cleaned up and left. I highly recommend MG Tree service through my experience with them. read more

They really don't even deserve one star.....Mike Gillan, the owner, refused to give his insurance information after they tresspassed on my property and damaged my tree. Thankfully, Springfield Township Tree Warden came over very quickly and made them stop chopping down my tree, I asked his crew repeatedly to stop and they refused. Unfortunately, they chopped off way too much of the tree before they were made to stop. They didn't even apply for the proper permits with the township, they said they didn't think my over 50 foot oak tree would be considered a shade tree.....what else would it be considered??!! I would suggest going with another company, but if you choose to go with them, I got you covered with their insurance information if they cause any damage, because the Owner most likely won't give it to you... read more

Horrifying! Dangerous and unprofessional! I agree with the reviewers that stated they witnessed unsafe practices from this tree removal company. They were hired to remove a tree in my neighbors' yard and threw massive limbs INTO MY YARD without roping them. When I ran out there and told them to stop, they flagged me off. They continued and damaged a rose bush and landscaping lights, and ruined my lawn. The saw dust and wood chips destroyed my lawn. They were so incredibly rude and crass! So was the owner! All around horrid! I would NEVER hire them! read more

We hired MG Tree a few years ago to trim an American Elm in our backyard. They did an excellent job with the trimming and they did their best to protect our lawn. We contacted them again to have a Blue Spruce removed. We once again we received quality service. I would definitely use MG Tree for any tree work in the future. read more

MG Tree came through for us in a pinch. A tree fell through the roof of our house and they were there just a couple days later coming off a holiday weekend. Professional, excellent equipment, really safe working crews. Beyond price, they were the fastest to quote, close and schedule this emergency job. They did a tremendous job taking out three (3) 80-foot trees and left our property in clean condition before wrapping up the job. I'd recommend them for any tree work you need! read more

I was very pleased with the trees cut down at my home. I even gave a referral. However, the treatment that I received after my service was performed was awful. An oversight on my behalf, I forgot to send payment. No excuse, except my busy schedule and pregnant memory. I got a reminder voicemail from Irene at the office, which was professional and completely respectful. Obviously, I needed a reminder since I had completely forgot about payment. However, within the next 90 minutes, I received a threatening voicemail from Joe. His voicemail demanded payment and even threatened to "knock on my door if I didn't call the office back!" Wow!!! Shocked and frightened by his belligerent tone, I immediately called the office and spoke to Irene. I explained to her that while I was happy with the service and appreciated her reminder call, I did not appreciate the threatening phone call from Joe. I informed Irene, that at 9 months pregnant, should Joe come to my residence and demand payment I will be calling the police. Awful! -A lost, threatened, 9-months pregnant customer! read more

My wife contacted this tree service to get a quote for work we needed done. I usually do not write reviews, but the unprofessional attitude I received pushed me to write this. Showed up approx. 10am and parked in our driveway blocking in a visitor we had there. Fine, I'll give the benefit of the doubt that he didn't know. Next I asked him to please move it because our guest was leaving. He immediately got annoyed and said "FINE, but can you tell ____ (my wife) to come outside now." (In a loud and obnoxious tone). He could have spoken to me since it's my home too. My wife then went out and told him the same thing and he kept saying "WHAT'S THE PROBLEM!" He then was like "well who's going to do this walkthrough with me?" My wife said he (me) could do it. He walked away rudely and got in the car and sped off. This was unacceptable and my wife, nor myself will ever be calling for their services again. My wife found their services through Clipper Magazine and wish she never did. It was a very unprofessional experience and I'm going to assume it was from the owner (he never introduced himself or gave a name). Thanks for reading my review. MG Tree did an awesome job! I called to get an estimate and they came within hours. I then added a 2nd tree to my quote and they came right back out with a revised quote. I called on Monday to confirm that I wanted to move forward and they were here on Wednesday. The team was friendly, worked quickly and cleaned up very well. Do not use this company. While grinding a stump in my neighbor's yard I noticed that the mesh barrier was about 4' high but only on 3 sides. The side bordering my yard had a board about 2' high. The board was not high enough & large wood chips were flying into my yard. I asked the crew to put up the mesh on my side too. They refused. I called the company to explain I was worried about possible damage to my mower if it went over the big wood chips. They blew me off too. These chips were about 5" x 3" and would have damaged my mower for sure. Small issue and so easy to solve but they were unwilling to even consider the request. Go elsewhere. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I did not hire this company but had an interaction with them when a tree they were cutting down fell on my car. I am driving down the road and they are cutting a tree on the right side. The worker in the road motioned me ahead along with the 2 cars behind me. As I am moving through slowly the tree falls on the hood of my car. I approached the worker and he shrugged his shoulders and said oh well. He did not speak English well. I contacted the company about the situation several times and never heard a response. I would never hire a company like this with such poor safety standards and sub-par workers. In addition to poor management for not handling the situation. I have no idea the quality of work they do but safety comes first and they obviously do not care about that.
