Stonework has large gaps that must be filled and covering to hydraulic pump was never placed as agreed upon. The cover is a warped piece of plywood .Landscaping was never put in and downspouts were never done. The owner has ignored all of our calls and texts. We have asked for a refund but he ignores our pleas. THE OWNER, MATT DOES SUBPAR WORK, DOESN'T FINISH THE JOB, AND WILL NOT OFFER A REFUND. read more

We hired Matt to cut down trees and grind the stumps. He cut down the trees but left the stumps for weeks. After several calls and texts, he finally came back to grind, but it was not done correctly. We currently still have stumps and roots, and even a tree growing back. Matt was initially contacted by my husband but then stopped responding. I then called and texted, constantly being told they would be out but was never given a timeframe. It has now been 6 weeks since I contacted him, 2 months since my husband contacted him, and several months since we paid for the job, with no resolution. I asked for my money back for the stump grinding that was done correctly, but again was ignored. If you are looking for open communication, good work ethic, and being provided services you paid for, this is NOT the company for you. read more

I can't even give this company a star, but I had to for the post. Endless pools recommended TLC Landscaping (Matt Tirpak, owner) to install our pool. We should have seen the signs in the beginning of what a disaster this was going to be. Didn't have the right license to do the work, never communicated when he or his crew would be on site. His inexperienced staff that he never oversaw caused work to be done multiple times. His excuses of why he couldn't be on site (have to pick the kids up at school, his wife didn't tell him he had a school conference, sports activities, etc.) got exhausting. His "office manager" wasn't any better. Terrible communication! After 5 months of shotty workmanship, over $14,000 paid we had to finally let him and his company go. If anyone recommends this company and owner to install a pool, look for another opinion. I sent Endless pools a list of our frustrations and concerns about them recommending TLC in the future and I never got any response from them. We have been so glad we found Matt and TLC Landscape Services for various work around our home. They were highly recommended to us and quickly saved the day for us with a big yard mess and challenges when we didn't know where to turn. They have given us excellent suggestions and recommendations for a number of 'Dream Projects'. When we were ready to start some of these, they worked us into their schedule in a timely manner, and when it was our time the crew began the installation of our new front patio, vastly improving our vague ideas to make our house look amazing -- in 2-1/2 days!! That includes all the super clean up 'after' the hard work was completed. The crew was great, kind, caring, and very communicative, both to seek our input on choices and to be sure we were aware of the process and status of various stages of the work. They were each an artist in their work, and our project was made so beautiful by the talents they shared. We are already planning to have TLC add a pergola to the porch later in the summer. AND we are thinking ahead to some winter/ indoor projects for which they can bring the broad / and specific skill sets that will be needed. This is not a huge company with a mob of "anybodies" to churn and turn; no, this is a smaller group of people with excellence to bring to each project they undertake. They know what to do and they do it well and with pride in doing it right. The cost is so reasonable, and they give more value than they charged us for. When you deal with craftsmen, artisans at what they do, who are doing a great job for you, you wait with appreciation for your turn - knowing they are going to treat you with patience, attention, care, and skill. On another social media platform, I heard that these folks had good firewood, seasoned and ready to go $250 plus another $50 for stacking. The wood was mixed hardwoods, as promised, and delivered quickly and stacked well but the wood was very green so I use up a lot of fire starter to get it going. It is problematic to keep it burning plus the logs steam and pop as they burn. Update 12/22/18- I have updated this review from 2 to 3 stars. The owner PMed me and offered to remedy the situation but I have already burned a decent amount and do not want the hassle. You've been warned! I used Matt & team to take a tree down and then to help with some side yard landscaping. We started the project in April, and he finally actually did something in August after truly stalking him. I would email, call, text and get no response, or him saying he would come today or tomorrow and never show up. I paid in full, and ultimately he never finished the job. To this day I have half a yard of no mulch and unplanted plants that have died; he said he was coming back the next day to "finish" and just never did. I emailed to get half my money back and have never received a response. After reading these reviews, looks like I'm not the only one. How disappointing. read more

This review is written October 4th, 2017 - after he officially vanished - after trying hard to work with him and communicate over a period of two years. ---------- I met Matt Tirpak after hiring him for some tree work. While the tree work was only 'ok' I found Matt personable and from there hired him for grass and snow services. He seems to make a good first impression (and his first interaction or two might be good - might be good work) - as a one time deal. Avoid extended relationships or interactions. Matt is, indeed, fast. You will see other reviews about Matt's speed, and what I have included in my review seems to be a pattern reflected by others. - Fast with lawn cuts...probably the fastest lawn cuts ever. Barely trimmed and grass everywhere. This isn't just once, mind you. The photos below show a history of terrible lawn cutting and someone who only cares about the payment. - Fast with excuses....quick to tell you he is out "multiple vehicles" on the day he was show (one had a flat, another wouldn't start etc), quick to use "family emergencies"... quick to say communication issues w/support staff, quick to shift responsibilities elsewhere. - Fast to quit. Matt will agree to work, then change his mind or maybe he wished he hadn't agreed. He is passive so he will not actually have a discussion to address any issues... he will avoid (find fast excuses, see above) - or he will outright vanish. So while Matt will sound personable and nice, do not believe what he tells you because he is always changing. - Fast to hang-up. Matt will ignore your calls and texts. Call in from a different number, and he will then pretend there is line noise or a connection problem and probably hang up. - Fast to keep your money. I gave Matt a deposit to have on hand as he seemed skittish with snow removal where he was not getting paid by other clients. Well, Matt vanished and refuses to refund or prorate the deposit. Fast to hang up. Matt Tirpak seems to run his lawn business from an armchair, maybe at a beach somewhere. He has a foreign crew running the cuts (see photos) who will not talk to the customer (maybe as instructed) and it leads to problems. When there is a problem you get "Well, the guys are out now, they should be there soon." They chopped up a sewer pipe cap...I replaced (let Matt know so it wouldn't get chopped up again) and the following week I was out buying a new brass sewer cap. His men will mulch litter into the lawn. They will leave clumps of grass where the fall (flower beds, piled on edges of a building, in stairwells... you name it.) Snow clearing resulted in sloppy single push of a plow... then excuses and apologies until he gets back days later after the majority of snow melted. I would share photos w/Matt showing the terrible work and I would get "they shouldn't be doing that, I will talk to them." Rinse and repeat. Do yourself a favor and just pass on Matt Tirpak and anything related to TLC Landscape Services. read more

The team swoops right in, is quick, helps move anything we accidentally left out in the the yard (trashcans, wiffle ball bats, basketballs, etc) and just does an awesome job overall on the lawn! Matt and his crew were fantastic to work with. Matt (the owner) was available throughout the entire project. He didn't just pass the buck to a foreman. If I had a question, he answered himself, explained the process, and made sure to follow up to ensure that I got exactly what I wanted. The trees along the side of my house got so big they were starting to fall over. We also had some other bushes that dying and bug infested. I called TLC on a recommendation from my neighbor. Matt and his team came out within a week and not only safely removed our overgrown trees and bushes but also were willing to trim some of our other bushes that same day. They did a great job cleaning up and taking away all the debris. We have some work that we are planning for this spring and will definitely have Matt and his team do the job. read more
