I was very impressed with the representatives that came to our house for an estimate. However they told me the owner would need to get in touch about certain aspects of services we needed. The owner never got in touch. I was told in several texts that the owner would be in touch and after three weeks of back and forth texts I was told I would need to call the owner directly to discuss the services. I decided to go no further because if I was having this much difficulty with communications just getting a quote I can only imagine the difficulties in trying to get in touch with something important. read more

Tim Stone is an arborists who is extremely knowledgeable. We had an 80 year old Southern Magnolia tree that was growing over our house/roof and a different very high Magnolia tree growing over our roof as well and needed to be pruned. We had a few dead arborvitae trees and dead shrubs that needed to be removed (one stump ground) along with a bunch of pruning needed. This was not an easy job as our power lines go through our trees. Our next door neighbors used this service and I felt it was necessary to let others know of our experience. We have a large fenced in yard surrounded by trees and bushes that give us the privacy we like. We had scheduled a different tree service to come out this month to trim down the trees in our yard. Upon further inspection of our yard after Stones tree service work on our neighbors yard, we now have over a dozen stumps of what were once trees that will never recover. I would like to point out that we were home and available to be notified prior to them leaving stumps in our yard for us to deal with. My wife called and asked them to come out to speak about this. My wife specifically asked Timothy why didn't anyone ask us before cutting these trees down to stumps? We were home and available and if asked we would have said that we had scheduled tree service coming later this month. Timothy's response to my wife was what difference would it had made if we talked to you first? And that's how the conversation ended. Now we have multiple stumps in our yard to deal with and no accountability to the individuals responsible for it. At minimum responsible for at least having conversation with homeowner whose property they are leaving with dead trees. I don't like leaving negative feedback, especially for a family owned business. However I feel like we were left with no options then to voice our frustrations. Please beware if you see their sign in your neighbors yard, or just plan on sitting outside with hopes that someone will approach you prior to cutting down trees In your yard. read more

These days, it's a challenge just to get a contractor to answer a request for a quote. So I was pleasantly surprised when Tim from Fine Tree Care called me back within an hour of my leaving a message. I was flat out shocked when, a couple of days after I agreed to the very reasonable quote to have some stumps ground, the guys from Fine Tree Care came out and completed the job to perfection. As if this wasn't impressive enough service, Tim stopped by a couple of days later to make sure I was happy with the job. I'm not used to this level of competence, professionalism, service, and old-school courtesy. I was pleased to learn that Tim is a certified arborist, so I absolutely plan to get Fine Tree Care back over for some more delicate tree work. We had two trees that needed pruning and correction of improper maintenance done before we owned the house. In addition, we needed nine stumps pulled from our lawn. Tim gave us a thorough evaluation and plan to help our trees and to clear our stumps. The work done by Tim and his crew was wonderful. Our trees look much healthier and already are sprouting new growth. The grounds where the stumps were do not show any sign of them. The stumps were shredded and used to fill the holes. A true family business! Professional, awesome business ethics, honest and best yet, compassionate. Wish I could show you before and after photos. Under great stress during a recent move, the new property was a mess. Hired some H.S. boys but the job was overwhelming. Reached out for help, I had minimal time left, and the contacts that returned my call were 6-8 weeks out. This was no different when I spoke to the lady in the office. She mentioned she would try to get someone to take a look at the property. I believe it was in the afternoon that a pickup pulled up, and out jumped Tim Stone and the lady on the phone, his wife. She apparently told Tim the situation. I explained what and why certain jobs were needed. Tim gave me a quote, and I immediately accepted! Asked about the other side of the house, again, blown away and accepted. Possibly could do the j ou b in a week. Left the house, went back to continue the packing at other house, when I received around 4-4:30ish, from Tim's wife. The guys just finished and would be back in the morning to finish the other side. That evening my son and I went to the new house...all I could do was cry...with joy! What a complete turnaround. Absolutely exceptional work! Overall, TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY! I'm very particular, and there was not one thing to complain about. Yes I was stressed, desperate, whipped and Tim and his wife's compassion stepped up to the plate and hit a homerun. I called Fine Tree Care about an apple tree on the property I had recently bought. The tree was almost entirely defoliated from rust and probably other diseases as well, and I needed to know if it could be treated or if it was better to have it taken out. They responded promptly to my inquiry, and did a thorough evaluation of the tree, and recommended a course of treatment (an injected treatment now, then a follow-up treatment next spring). I also had them schedule me for pruning it next February. After the initial treatment, the tree started growing new, healthy foliage almost immediately. Prompt safety conscious service! Removed huge old Black Ash tree and ground stump that was leaning over street. This grand old tree had two main trunks. Poor old thing had Ash Borer blight. Cut up wood was stacked across the street and gone within 4 days. Local folks drove by and saw the wood and started loading up their trucks and vans with it. We first met Tim Stone about 14 years ago when we had a house with a lovely row of American hornbeams along the driveway. Shortly after we moved in the hornbeams began losing their leaves in midsummer. Tim quickly solved the problem. Since then he has worked on ashes, staving off the borers, but warning us that the borers have wiped out ashes up to our figurative doorstep, a silver beech, and a huge silver maple overhanging our garage.
