I must say, this would have been a 5 star experience if the service was better. We sat outside on a Saturday afternoon with our dog and it took forever for us to get our drinks and to even just get water for our pup. We ordered the salmon for our fur baby and she absolutely loved it! I was very pleased with the quality and feel so good that our pup enjoyed herself. So cool that they have a whole separate dog menu with tons of options. I ordered the shrimp salad for myself and it was amazing and my husband had the chicken wrap which was very good too. We never really got checked on while we were eating so we weren't able to order more drinks so that took away from the whole experience. We enjoyed eating outside because the inside bar area seemed very loud but it seems we were forgotten. We would go here again with our pup but hopefully the service is better.

Cheers!

Pro's: very clean inside, super friendly staff, excellent service. Beautiful historical building, over 120 years old. Con's: Although classy interior with white tablecloths, the food quality is basically diner food. This is not to say it's not prepared well & with care - but diner-quality ingredients. Overall - I wld still probably go back, b/c I love old buildings & I LOVE old bars, & their bar is super groovy. Shkd be 3.5 stars, but no 1/2 stars on Yelp (!)

Crab Mac and Cheese - Huge, creamy, delicious!

Wonderful date night meal. We had no plan, ventured into Medford and took a shot at getting a table and got lucky. Food was fantastic, service was great. If you haven't been there before it's a pretty cool vibe, old house converted into a restaurant. We sat upstairs with a view out onto main street. I had a hazy ipa, we split the meatballs as an app; excellent. Wife went with the crab Mac and Cheese, which was enough for 3 people! It was so creamy, rich, and filled with crab meat. So good. I had the Halibut special over wild rice, bok choy, with a miso broth and Serrano chilies. It was amazing. Haven't been here in years, but already looking forward to heading back soon. Check them out if you're in the area.

There were more flies than this at one time.

The only consolation to my date with my wife here was that our waitress Nikki was friendly and helpful. The food was ok but not worth at all the price paid. The egg rolls came old cold. Our table was outside but near a window and people inside were sitting on the windowsill and the view wasn't good lol. Also, there were tons of flies by our table buzzing around and landing on our food. I definitely won't be going back.

Short ribs (we shared this dish, the ribs are not this small).

The only good thing about dinner last night was the espresso martini flight and the service. Both were excellent. We ordered the tuna appetizer. We got something that resembled tuna. We took a bite and it was absolutely disgusting. I had to force myself to swallow the piece I had. When we told the server that we were not going to eat it (the taste and consistency were AWFUL), we were told we were given the wrong appetizer. It was the crudo, which apparently was in the tuna family? Then they brought the right appetizer. I couldn't tell you if the tuna was okay because I couldn't even eat it after the other fish almost made me sick at the table. The avocado that came with the tuna was fresh but not seasoned and had no flavor. Both myself and my dinner partner had the same reaction to the crudo. We shared the short ribs and they were just blah. Too salty and dry. The potatoes were just not good. A picture of the short ribs are below. Funny thing is we stopped coming here because we had a bad meal but lots of posts lately had food that looked good. Way too expensive for the food to be that bad. Maybe the sandwiches are better.

truffle fries! not on the menu but they have them if you ask!

We went here last night for drinks and ended up getting food as well. We had always heard good things about Braddock's Tavern and were glad we visited. They had plenty of tables open and we were seated outside on the porch. The drinks were unique and delicious! The Mac and cheese was so good and had lots of cheese. We will be back again soon for food and drinks soon!

CAESAR SALAD CHEESESTEAK SPRING ROLLS

Overall decent atmosphere & service. Sat at the bar, the bartender was nice and she was busy so it took a little longer than we would have preferred. It's not her fault, but they should have more help (unless maybe it was a one off). Presentation of the food was good. I do wish the chicken wings were a bit more cooked internally. I picked at them, left half untouched. Cheesesteak egg rolls were pretty good though. My friends enjoyed the cocktails a lot. Prices were a bit higher than other places. I wouldn't go out of my way to return but wouldn't say it was awful either.

CAESAR SALAD

It's fine. I got the saddest Caesar salad with salmon ever for $20+ tonight for dinner while there for my mom's birthday. We have been there a ton and even hosted my baby shower there, but it's really hit or miss.

Like always, Braddock's never disappoints! This may have been my 74th check-in at Braddock's Tavern however it was a night full of new experiences. We arrived a little after 6pm on a Friday and soon after we were able to get one seat at the bar (I stood until the seat next to my fiancé opened up which is typical for a Friday/Saturday night). My fiancé started with a classic espresso martini - one of the must order cocktails here. I will continue to say this as long as I live but, in my opinion Braddock's has the best bartenders around. The bar area is so cozy and dimly lit. I definitely prefer sitting in there as opposed to the dining rooms. It had been a few weeks since we'd been to Braddock's and we noticed their menu had been updated. Everything else we ordered were new menu items starting with my Manhattan with tobacco bitters and an orange peel garnish - it was smooth and delicious. As long as it stays on the menu I will be having one at each visit. We then decided to split 4 new appetizers which turned out to be a great decision. We ordered the Chicken Lemongrass Potstickers, Confit Artichokes, Short Rib Sliders, and the Chef's Flatbread which was a burrata flatbread with roasted tomatoes, asparagus tips, and balsamic drizzle. All four dishes were great. The potstickers were fried perfectly and had a subtle light, refreshing flavor that came through from the lemongrass. I'm not a big fan of sliders, but we figured these would be easy to share. The short rib was so tender and it was a tie between these and the artichokes for my favorite of the night. The artichokes were also very tender, but the leaves were perfectly crisp from the confit. As far as the flatbread, the ingredients worked so well together. I loved the roasted tomatoes and balsamic drizzle as they added such a nice sweetness. I would absolutely order each of these again. My fiancé finished off the night with a Pumpkin Espresso Martini with a perfectly drawn pumpkin on top courtesy of Grace. I chose to change it up and went with a lemon drop martini. Braddock's is our spot and will always be our spot. Each visit we have great food, professionally made cocktails, and are treated very well by all of the staff. I'm already looking forward to our next visit!

Stopped in for a meal and a drink. Restaurant is divided into two sides. The bar side, which is always hopping and always crowded. Not wanting to wait we went to the quiet side of the dining room. Dimmly lit, and a great relaxed atmosphere. Reminds me of my grandma's old home. Food is good and prices are decent. The onion soup was cheesy and delicious! The bread the sandwiches came on was super fresh and amazing as well. The homemade chips that come with the sandwiches are really good. And they make a pretty good espresso martini, I didn't know which flavor to have so I got the flight.

Classic espresso martini (they have decaf!)

Honestly, this is probably the only thing that I absolutely loved out of all the mails that we picked out.. The pasta literally lacks sauce as you can see it's more of meat and red sauce, but it didn't even cover all the pasta when you mixed it in. Which also like seasoning flavors. We ordered the pizza for our kids. Our kids were a little disappointed by it as they had more onions than they had of actual meat. A lot of of the onions was covered by the cheese.. The burger I feel like it lacks a description as I didn't know it came with two onion rings and by the time we got home, which is not even five minutes away, the cheese had already hardened. I decided on getting sweet potato fries. They were extremely soggy. They weren't fully cooked. The calamari rings were good however, the sauce is the exact same pasta sauce used for the spaghetti, which was a little bit disappointing. I was recommended this place as I was visiting the area and I love enjoying and trying new places however I try to keep it as honest as possible. There is room for improvement the presentation as well. The food looks aesthetically pleasing however, the lack of flavors is very offputting.. This was a pick up so the service was pretty quick.

Everything was chopped evenly and broiled to perfection. I did get a decent amount of clam. The description says bacon but I'm glad it wasn't big pieces of crispy bacon. It almost seemed like pancetta. I wish I took a picture. They are a little greasy so I'm not sure why they serve them with a side of butter. I think that's a waste. I ordered the Reuben for my entree and upgraded from chips to potato salad. This was an amazing choice. One of the best Reubens I've had in awhile. I was nervous at first seeing the thick bread but it all came together. It wasn't greasy at all. The corned beef was crispy which made it easier to bite. Who hates trying to bite through tough corned beef???? The amount of sauerkraut was perfect. One half of my sandwich had the perfect amount of dressing. The other half was dry. I usually ask for a side of dressing but didn't this time. I am so glad I upgraded to potato salad. It's only $1 extra and I highly recommend. This reminded me of my family recipe. This sandwich comes with chips and I'm not sure what that means. I'm not a huge potato chip person.

Hard to tell exactly when it opened, as their website offers scant information, but they first started posting on Facebook in 2011 if that is anything to go by. They don't have a large footprint in the NJ brewing scene as they don't distribute to any liquor stores or bars/restaurants (they don't even offer beers in cans to go), and they don't do any big events other than the typical karaoke or trivia nights. What they do offer is a nice place to hang out in an old historic building right on the Main Street in the downtown area, and a solid lineup of beers. One thing that makes them stand out is a great selection of beers on nitro. From my experience with NJ breweries, you're lucky to find a single beer on nitro. At Village Idiot there are seven of them, most of them dessert stouts like a cookie butter white stout and a salted caramel milk stout. All that we tried were delicious and not crazy high in ABV like other dessert stouts. Flights are only $10 which is pretty cheap compared to other NJ breweries. Of note is that as of November 2025 they no longer allow outside drinks including water bottles like Nalgenes and Stanley Cups. Too many idiots sneaking in alcohol, according to their social media. Overall it has a bit more of a dive bar vibe only frequented by locals rather than a traditional NJ brewery, but the beer is definitely good enough, and the surrounding Main Street charming and quaint enough that I would definitely return.
