Several fortnights ago I was stranded here having locked myself from entry into my motor wagon. For hours I stood within the confines of this establishment and experienced delight and surprise in many forms. The young women, clubs goers I would assume, dressed in bright, yet minimal garments, shocked at the discovery of water bugs in the bathroom, young men with impassioned spirits (as those of male gender and relatively few years upon this earth generally are) challenging myself to duels and a remarkable selection of prepackaged beverages and "to-go" foodstuffs, accompanied by a wide variety of tobacco products, all showcased in a haunting backlit glow emanating from halogen bulbs, presumably manufactured in a time period near the construction of the pyramids of Giza. Additionally one might note the excellent ingress and egress paths from the main thoroughfare and I do actually believe there may even be music playing. Actually no, there is only a desperate silence radiating from the building, questioning you and your fellow travelers if you have the gall and creativity to create a moment in time that shall clang and clash and ring, heralding an event worthy of sound. Maybe someone vomits behind pump number 3, perhaps a companion knows the lyrics to Nicki Minaj's latest song, and the possibility for a loud discussion on whether joe Rogan is a saint or sinner could echo. It's all up to you, but rest assured, anything less than 5 stars is codswallop.

They also have a full service deli that serves-up all types of sandwiches and subs which can be ordered from the self serve kiosk. The prices here are a little higher than what you would pay at a large chain grocery store, however those grocery stores are few and far between. They had a pretty good lunch deal earlier in the spring that included a fountain drink for around $6.50 that I wish they would bring back sometime. If you need convenience and a safe clean convenience store, then this is the place.

I REPORTEDLY EXPERIENCED AN OFFENSIVE ETHNIC REMARK DURING A CUSTOMER SERVICE INTERACTION. EVERYONE DESERVES TO BE TREATED WITH DIGNITY, RESPECT, AND FAIRNESS, REGARDLESS OF THEIR ETHNICITY. I AM SHARING MY EXPERIENCE SO OTHERS CAN BE AWARE AND WAWA CAN ADDRESS THIS MATTER APPROPRIATELY. I am filing a formal complaint regarding an incident on October 26, 2026, at approximately 8:00 PM at Wawa Store #6001, located at 1111 19th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036. After purchasing my meal, I was told by an employee named Brittany to leave because the seating area was closed, despite not seeing any closure signage and still eating. The interaction became confrontational, and Brittany referred to me as a "Latino dictator," an offensive ethnic remark that raised serious concerns about potential discrimination and stereotyping. I believe this conduct conflicts with Wawa's values of valuing people, doing the right thing, and delighting customers. I respectfully request a thorough investigation, a review of available surveillance footage, an assessment of the employee's conduct and store procedures, and a written response outlining the findings and any appropriate corrective action. I expect Wawa to take this matter seriously and uphold its commitment to treating every customer with dignity, fairness, and respect. Thank you.

In this situation, it's key to have an excellent mechanic. My husband and I have been going to Abed for nearly 12 years and have yet to be disappointed. This crew used to be in Adam's Morgan, but moved up here to the NW of Tenleytown, Cathedral Heights, American University Neighborhoods. It's incredibly convenient with the Tenleytown Metro a few blocks away, so you can drop your car/truck off and head to the metro to/from work while they work magic on your car! Abed and his team are skilled mechanics and knows cars; this auto repair shop won't take you to the cleaners like a dealership or some of the other places would. Fixing a broken car is expensive to begin with, but this team does it right and are exceptionally reasonable. Sure the shop is a little dirty, but like a good diner, the service and product are excellent! I send all my girlfriends there without a fear that they're going to be taken advantage of. Fellas, you would enjoy talking cars with any of the crew there too! This is a place I would send my grandmother to and know she would be taken care of. They fix your car and get you on down the highway with money still in your pocket for a nice meal in the neighborhood!

I brought my 2021 Audi Q5 to the Shell station on P St., NW in Dupont Circle after it developed a…read moresevere coolant leak 1-block away. I was understandably concerned because coolant was pouring out from underneath the vehicle. T.J. (the lead mechanic) charged me $168 for a diagnosis and told me that the water pump had failed. I was specifically told that the cooling system had been pressure-tested and that the water pump was the source of the leak. Based on that diagnosis, I was advised not to drive the car and ultimately had to arrange for the vehicle to be towed to Audi. Audi Annapolis subsequently inspected the vehicle and determined that the water pump was not the problem. The actual failure was a faulty pressure-release valve in the coolant reservoir cap -- a $33 part. The Audi technician showed me a video of the faulty cap and the subsequent pressure test demonstrating that the system held pressure after the cap was replaced. The car has been running perfectly since. The incorrect diagnosis cost me not only the $168 diagnostic fee, but also roughly another $400 in towing, transportation, and additional diagnostic/repair costs that would not have been necessary had the problem been correctly identified in the first place. Mistakes happen, but telling a customer that a component has been identified through a pressure test when it turns out not to be the source of the leak is a serious concern. I would have been much more understanding if I had simply been told that the water pump was a suspicion rather than a confirmed diagnosis. $33 cap. $168 diagnosis. $400+ additional expense. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing any significant repair based on a diagnosis from this shop.
