I love the nostalgia and fun that BoxLunch brings to the mall. They carry a good variety of items from clothes, to home goods, and gifts for various fandoms and properties and there's always something new to discover. The value really depends on what you love, but they often have what I think are high quality clothing items at fair to great deals. If you visit during some of their sales you can find some real gems. The stock does change so if you visit the mall often it's worth popping in to see if you fall in love with something. read more

Stopped in while at the mall. The store is crowded and tight, with skinny walkways. My companion had a mobility aid that made it difficult for us to maneuver through the store. They have a lot of merchandise to choose from, but much of it is priced higher than I would pay for it. Their clearance section is worth it, but I can't say I would get much else there. read more

I was on the hunt for a specific flying off the shelf ornament to surprise someone and called this store. I spoke to Vicky, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was able to purchase the ornament. Not only was she pleasant and friendly during our phone call, but she also maintained the same warm and welcoming demeanor when I met her in person. I visited this BoxLunch location over the weekend while visiting family. The store itself was organized and clean. I particularly liked the selection of Sailor Moon Merchandise they had in stock. I'm a 90s kid so I'll forever be a Sailor Moon fan through and through. 3/5 star rating because my experience was average. Nothing terrible but also nothing spectacular enough to warrant more starts. The store was busy at the time I went. I wasn't greeted by any store associates when I entered or by the few I passed while browsing. The girl behind the register was friendly. At one point she exclaimed in surprise that the Sailor Moon pullover sweater I was purchasing was on sale while looking to her co-worker. Her co-worker told her it was part of the sale but not on sale by itself. Since I wasn't greeted by any of the associates in the store I didn't know what qualified for the buy one get one 30% off. I had great service here today . The girls that work there are really nice. Especially the manager . They didn't mind helping me to get a coupon to work . They didn't make me feel like a burden or anything. The store itself is a bit messy but it's usually craaaazy busy in here. Stuff is priced very high for what it is but you can get better deals if you time it right and do the promotions or sales. Overall a very nice experience today and I will be back again because of the good service. Even more so than the actual products. But I love Disney stuff read more

Horrible customer service. 4/24 walked in at 400pm. 3 employees behind the register. Multiple other people walking around store. No hello, no eye contact. I even sat around the register area to see if they'd talk to me.... nothing. Left about 15mins later. They seemed too busy on their personal devices to help or glance in others directions. I used to work in retail and if I was the store manager I'd be pissed! Hopefully one of the employees on duty wasn't the SM. read more

We were at the mall and stopped here because they had a Stranger Things shirt. Once we were inside, Cathryn helped us with finding sizes, explaining the sales to us (they had more than one going on) and checking us out. She did an amazing job and is a real asset to this store. The products are fun, yet adult oriented. However, my kids still found things that they enjoyed. It was a fun break and different than most of the mall. We will definitely be back. read more

I love this store. It is like a Hot Topic for adults. They carry a lot of the same items, but in a more modern atmosphere. Fun stuff (retro and current), lots of Disney shirts and items, tons of POP vinyl figures and lots of collectibles. I especially like the clearance area, even though the prices aren't really "clearance" prices for the most part. I find their prices to be a little high, but overall it's a fun store! read more

But once I told her no about signing up for the program her whole attitude change, she was getting frustrated and being very disrespectful. She didn't tell me to have a nice day or anything. If you plan to order online with this company, don't. I ordered a gift for my niece and found out 15 minutes later that she already had one. I went back to the site to cancel the order. No way to do it on the site which I have never seen from a large company. I emailed customer service and was told they couldn't. I know that they did not have time to pack and ship it because I ordered at night. I also didn't get a "your item has shipped" notification - just an email saying they couldn't cancel. Now my niece's family will have to go to the trouble of returning it themselves. I will never go into a store or purchase anything again from them. read more

For some reason, I always thought this was an online-only subscription service brand until I saw it in the mall (both Roseville Galleria and Arden Fair) a few months ago. I came into the Galleria BoxLunch location today, looking for Disney apparel and accessories for my upcoming Disneyland trip since my Hot Topic order has been delayed and their customer service team sucks (but that's another review waiting to be written!). BoxLunch, like many other people have said, is similar to Hot Topic in the sense that they carry lots of pop culture items and cute gifty stuff that you don't need but want. Unlike Hot Topic, however, this store isn't quite as aesthetically overwhelming, and it didn't make me feel claustrophobic either. I like that their products are well spaced out, and that there seems to be a methodical way of organizing products. Each corner of the store is dedicated to a particular brand or genre, which works for me. It's easier to find the Harry Potter, Studio Ghibli, Disney, Buffy, Stranger Things, etc. merchandise when it's grouped this way. The reason I'm giving BoxLunch 4 instead of 5 stars has nothing to do with their customer service. I was greeted upon arrival, and the employees did their job in telling me about the various in-stores promos and answering any questions I had. To me, BoxLunch isn't 5 stars because their regular priced merchandise is a little overpriced for my taste. Many t-shirts are well over $28, which seems excessive for a graphic tee if you ask me. The sale they have going on right now though, is a good deal. 50% off yellow tag clearance pricing means that I got a Danielle Nicole x Disney crossbody purse for $24! read more

This location is much better than the one in the San Francisco Bay Area has, its roomy and not cramped and spread out yet filled with loads Olof things I'd spend all my money on if I could. Received help with an item on clearance. The manager offered to take it to the front of the store for me. Once up there he told me that they refuse to honor the price. Once we stepped away from the counter (while still shopping) we could hear the manager tell one of the workers that people are known to pick stickers off of other items and try and pass non clearance items as clearance. Not only did he incorrectly accuse me of tampering, the item had the same price sticker in 2 different areas. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone. read more

Love love love this store every time we go in there, besides the experience we had over the weekend. While we were browsing the store my sister came across a shirt that she really liked but unfortunately they didn't have her size in store. We go to the register and ask the cashier Claire if we can order the shirt online, she said yes no problem. Awesome, super happy to get this shirt...WRONG!! Claire asked my sister her name address ect.. at the end of the transaction she said something went wrong and she had to enter in all the information again. Totally get it, I work in customer service/retail so I totally understand when computers glitch and mess up and you have to re input an order. Super annoying but it happens I get it, but the problem is it happened a total of 3 times, and all 3 times Claire either messed up my sisters address name or card number. When she finalized the order and printed out the receipt Claire STILL messed up my sisters address, after my sister gave it to her repeatedly and not to mention all three time Claire forgot what my sisters first name was. After 3 tries and 15mins at the register, my sister just told Claire to cancel the transaction and she will go home an do it herself. At that point I requested to speak to a manager, I told him the situation and he apologized, he kind of had an annoyed look on his face when he was talking to Claire making me think either she was new and didn't really know what she was doing or she has messed up before. It took us about another 10 mins to get a confirmation that the transaction was actually canceled. I was really bummed about this experience here because I love this store, it wont keep me from shopping here but I just wished their customer service was a little bit better. We weren't offered any type of discount for our trouble in the store or free shipping for the online order, I normally don't expect anything but this was clearly the employees fault and they should have offered us something. I will say that again I love this store and will continue to shop there, they are always friendly and keep a very clean store, just unfortunate that one experience made me think of this store differently read more
