From the bar we ordered 4 old fashions, with 4 angry orchards and six shots of tequila. I was unimpressed with the service at this particular location. We were in the middle of a game and prepared to play our last hour when the girls from the front informed us they double booked the lane and we had to rejoin the wait list. The rejoin required us to wait an hour. We then got placed on a lane with defective bumpers ( there were 8 kids under 9). I would have preferred better accommodations and communication to be provided. The service at the bar was substantially delayed. For one drink it took 15 mins. However it was not busy at this particular bar. Then the bartender an older gentleman in a red shirt was very dismissive and rude when providing service. Granted i don't think he makes drinks often i do think that he should be or could be more respectful. Lastly, when ringing someone's bill share with them what their total is they just run cards but don't give the amount owed or receipts to accompany. Which can lead to invalid charges.

It gives off a nostalgic vibe with the old school arcade video games scattered throughout the dance floor. You can play the games with tokens and dance the night away! I should mention that I've never really been the bar/club type gal, but whenever friends drag me out, I'm game once in a while, lol. I had a nice buzz going on when we arrived, but my friend told the rest of us not to "act drunk" because they WILL NOT let you in if you show any signs of being drunk, so be warned! We didn't stay long, but we had a drink each, went out on the dance floor for a few minutes and then went to our next stop. This place is pretty big, so next time I want to explore more areas of it. It was a good time for sure. I'm a fan!! =)

Although further from me, it was more than worth the drive! Locally-owned, and clearly very community-oriented, this was such a fantastic experience. We called ahead on a Thursday night to see if there was a wait, and thankfully there wasn't so we came and were immediately assigned a lane. The prices were different from what was listed online, and were actually cheaper! We opted for unlimited bowling for 2 hours, and had an absolute blast. Even with it being a league night, it wasn't too busy or crowded. My only wish is that they were open later! Although, it was a weeknight haha. The ambience is so nostalgic, it's got all those special touches that make it feel like you've been transported back in time to classic bowling alleys-- like you see older movies. The rental balls are a mix of typical house balls, and what seem to be donated, personal balls. This is super fun if you're looking to try out different weights, makes, and types of grips without having to buy your own ball. The lanes were super greased up, and the scoring was accurate. Food is ordered on electric kiosks and is brought right to your lane. Drinks are ordered directly at the bar and you can walk back to your lane, and keep a tab open. There are so many things to do on top of bowling! There's an arcade and multiple (?) bars that seem to host karaoke on some nights. I highly recommend this place! Especially if you're looking to support local, because it's an absolute gem.

Of course, the most popular ones are the squishys. They even had dumplings. Their food that was ordered for the party was yummy too, good pizza, fries and funnel cake fries. The tenders were a little dry and overcooked. I tried their tropical bonfire cocktail- the drink came in a beautiful gold pineapple, yummy and refreshing. One of the main attractions at Mavrix is bowling. Another is laser tag. I passed on both and checked out the arcade instead. It was time well spent because it's a pretty awesome arcade. I've been to the Bowlero in North Scottsdale and it's smaller than this one. Here, you have a bunch of fighting and driving games, interspersed with carnival-style games. I played 10 or so games total in about an hour. Wednesday is a great day to go because the games are 50% off. I didn't come away empty-handed either. With the tickets I won, I redeemed them in their prize room. It's a pretty large room too, with more prizes available than the North Scottsdale location. While I didn't have many tickets, I had enough for two pieces of candy and a T-Rex toy. Outside of what I mentioned, Mavrix has plenty of areas to sit, including a full bar. I haven't had food or drinks here, but I did take a look at the menu and it's a pretty extensive one. Definitely nicer overall than your typical bowling alley.

There are multiple movie theaters, a lot of bowling lanes, a grill, concession stand, a glow in the dark mini golf course, and an arcade. I worked with the event coordinator Emily beforehand and it was such a pleasant experience. I was not stressed at all, they did everything to my preferences and all I had to do was bring the cake. They frequently checked in on my preferences beforehand and even asked how I wanted the room decorated, which they handled themselves. There are several different food options to choose from for parties but we went with pizza which was pretty good. Everything was very reasonably priced, including the alcoholic beverages, which were fun and delicious. The arcade games were all working and well maintained. They had a decent variety and definitely had all the classic games I like to play. The prize counter was also nice and I enjoyed the glow golf course. My younger nephews came to the party and enjoyed so this is definitely a fun venue for all ages. Above anything else, every single staff member made the experience so pleasant from the event coordinator (who personally was present to make sure everything was exactly as I wanted it) to the party host (who checked in on us regularly) to the bartender to the person at the prize counter. I felt like everyone truly wanted me to have a happy birthday and a great event. I would happily come here to hang out or have another event.
