We were visiting a friend who lives in Alameda. A discussion on how to spend the afternoon landed us here and we had a good time. The food is decent (pizza, mozzarella sticks were my fave) and bowling is always good old fashioned fun. Small boo for the $7 bottle of water and no water fountain and slow and disinterested service.

Solid spot to hang out with friends! We bought a Groupon beforehand for the 4 of us that includes 2 hours of unlimited play + shoe rental for ~$16 per person. That's not bad at all! With the Groupon, you have to walk in. Luckily, when we came Saturday afternoon around 3:30, there were plenty of lanes available. Ambiance was good. It was comfortable inside with red and blue lighting and pop hits blasting over the speakers. Everything looked new and clean. Ordering food and drinks is easy. You can see the menu and order from the machine at your lane. We ordered a pitcher of beer to share, which cost around $35 and was enough for 4 glasses. We also shared a large order of fries for around $11. My one complaint is that they cut you off right at the 2 hour mark. We were trying to squeeze 3 games into the 2 hours, and we were so close! Literally it was the last person's 10th (i.e. last) ball, but the game cut off and wouldn't let him bowl, so it felt a bit unsatisfying to end the game with one unfinished roll. There should be a little bit of leeway around this.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! Our whole family, including the kids, had an amazing time. Huge thanks to the staff!

Great service all around for booking a kids party to good and attentive service when on-site. They go above and beyond to make it an enjoyable experience. Every kid had a good time, even the ones that had never bowled before. The party packages are at good rates, the party platters for adults are a bit pricey in my opinion, but the food is good.

The fries loooked sooo good too!!!!

Best experience @Bowlero Alameda today, Thursday, 9/5/24, at 4pm! The food platter we purchased was amazing as well! It was not crowded and we could hear each other speak. The atmosphere seemed calm and the music was vibing. Bowlero is my favorite destination to bowl! Customer service is amazing as well! Thanks for an awesome time today, Team Alameda Bowlero!

Easy, clean, hip fun for all! Hosted a large kids birthday party here. The service was exceptional from start to finish with zero exceptions. Our server Ricky made sure we had everything we needed throughout the whole party, and Alan the manager even made sure we had little touches like light up letters that spelled my son's name! Cookie cake was included and was a hit. Zero cleanup or prep needed on our part. All the kids get arcade cards as part of the package too! 10/10 would do again.

    modern lanes and screens!

Bowlero is one of the cleanest and most modern bowling alleys I've visited in the Bay! It has a ton of updated lanes, and the screens all around the room make the vibe super fun for a night out with friends. I've also visited on weeknights when they have amazing deals for all-you-can-bowl for a flat fee (~$25) which is good for someone like me who can play for hours on end :D I've never gotten the food here but it always looks pretty good when I see other people with it

Next time I come back I will try to read a bit more. The info provided was actually pretty interesting but I got dazzled by all the blinking lights and sounds. So fun! Speaking of sound- there is enough space between each machine that you aren't drowned out by the other machines or players. There are several rooms of machines so people can spread out. The only thing I would have changed is it is very dark inside (I am guessing to keep the place cool) so it was a little hard to see the action with my aged eyes. Younger people won't have any problems. I am guessing also this place must look amazing at night. We were there mid afternoon. The room with the older machines was nice and bright which was nice. The newer machines are in darker rooms to add to the mood? As we were there on a Friday afternoon, not too many kids/teenagers, but don't know what the clientele would be after school. There were so many empty lanes that they could have spread us out more. A couple of young ladies asked if we wanted to buy any food but because we just came back from breakfast we declined. Regarding the technical aspects: It's awesome that there are various levels of PC games available: 1. 486DX-33 setup with Doom, Hexen, Heretic, etc. Let the kids understand the +/- screen size and FPS limits 2. Mac with all the Marathons 3. C64 4. Apple II with Zork and the Oregon Trail 5. Laptop with SCUMM games 6. Win98 with Tribes, UT, etc Regarding the console options, many of the consoles are not playing real carts, but are emulators. There were NES, Wii U, Wii, PS2, Genesis, Master system, PS2, PS3 and Xbox setups. Some played real games, and some played from roms/images. This is fine, but if you are expecting to come and play 100% 1:1 setups, that is not the case. There were no Turbografx, Neogeo, 32x, Sega CD, Saturn, Jaguar, virtual boy, etc playable setups. However, some of these were on display. The lack of older (non emulated) consoles such as Intellivision, 2600, Odyssey being available to play hard games is unfortunate, but understandable given the age of the hardware. The amount of displayed boxed games for various consoles and PC was very impressive. My only disappointment was that the Steel Battalion setup seems to have been retired for public use. This is one of the most hardcore games for Xbox that most people would never have a chance to experience. No apology was given and they even tried to tell me that the cupcakes were like that when they got to them. Um, absolutely not. In the photo I'm attaching there's, three layers of cupcakes, all three layers had cupcakes tipped over. It also seems supremely silly to me that they won't allow any changes to food selection the day of the party but also won't allow you to bring in any food yourself. We also asked for more napkins and one worker gave us a napkin bin and then a minute later another worker came and admonished us saying we shouldn't have that napkin bin. Uh, one of the workers literally handed it to us? What is with the attitude here? The workers act like how you'd expect DMV workers to act. There also was no music that we could really hear in the play rooms and the atmosphere just felt really drab. Especially with things like the air hockey machine being broken. We tipped out of pressure but it left such a sour taste in my mouth. I would not come back here ever to host a party and wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.
