I was referred to Bow Lane by staff at the Whitefriar Grill since I found them on Yelp and needed to grab a bite to eat before the restaurant closed. There were no tables available at the Whitefriar and the host told me that they also owned Bow Lane and that I should give them a try. I was a little confused when I walked in because it looked like a bar to me and I hovered in there for a bit an no one acknowledged my presence. Since I was being ignored, I started walking around inside and found a nook on the far side of the bar is where a hostess was for the restaurant part of the bar. I was promptly acknowledged and seated. It was pretty warm inside the place, too cozy for me. I was impressed with the restaurant portion of the place as it had nice décor, nice seating arrangements and cool ceiling tile. I started off with a beer (not Guinness since I knew I would be visiting the Long Hall immediately after) and was recommended a Clever Man Attractor Beer. It was crisp, clean, refreshing, but with no bite and little character. I ordered a medium ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly. For some reason though, it did not taste like a ribeye to me. I saw that all beef is of Irish origin but just tasted different than what I'm used to in the states. The dish came with fries (chips) and I ordered a unique side dish called goat cheese croquettes which were goat cheese and mashed potatoes rolled-up and fried. I would recommend that you try them. The service was pretty good in the restaurant, friendly and attentive. I'm not sure what happened on the bar side. The food was OK, the restaurant was too warm and the décor was nice. 3 stars! read more

Came for a Saturday brunch. The brunch options were fairly limited in my opinion. They offered a "bottomless boozy brunch" for 25 euros. I went with that and ordered a Bloody Mary which was quite spicy but otherwise pretty delicious. The service was very good. Our server, Antonio, was kind and accommodating. For the next round I asked for a mimosa but was told they aren't included in the bottomless brunch. Instead I was offered a "bow lane fizz" made with melon, apple, and Prosecco. I couldn't help feeling confused and aggravated that the arguably most popular brunch cocktail, a mimosas, wasn't included in their bottomless boozy brunch. Especially considering they were happy to serve me Prosecco, as long as it was mixed with apple and melon instead of orange juice. For 25 euros I expected more. Ordered the eggs benedict with ham. The dish was just okay. Would have benefitted from more hollandaise sauce and less spinach. My last comment is that my party arrived at 12:30 pm on a Saturday and we were seated in corner booth. The restaurant was mostly empty during our time there, however they were blasting loud hip hop and salsa music the entire time. It was too loud for my party to hear each other. We asked them if they could turn the music down just a touch and we were told they couldn't. We regret coming in and definitely will not be back. read more

I had brunch here on Saturday, as expected it was busy and there was a really nice atmosphere, I say expected as this is run by the same people as the popular brunch venue the Whitefriar Grill next door. They have a good choice on the menu which includes a few cocktails for those delicate Saturday morning heads. The music is at a perfect volume for those delicate heads too. I went for the lumberjack breakfast which is a massive plate of food (pictured). I went for this option as it's a little bit different than your regular fry up. The venison patty was cooked well, medium rare and tasted of an open flame bbq which I liked but it did lack a little seasoning. The bone marrow was not really what I expected and wasn't for me although it did look impressive on the plate. The sausage was devious, packed full of flavour and the apple chutney went really well with it. The pancakes were delicious, lite and tasted milky, the egg perfectly cooked sunny side up amd the bacon was thin and crispy. The chicken liver pate was again not for me as I'm not a big fan of pate to begin but it was tasty and smooth. I had an Americano which wasn't the best, they was no cream on the coffee, it looked like it had been sitting around for a while before I got it plus it was fairly bland and boring, I'm no coffee expect but I know a good one when I get it. There was a group of us and all of the food looked devious when it arrived to the table, apart form one, the pancakes and ice-cream which looked as if it had been left under a heat lamp for way too long. The restaurant / bar itself is nicely and sparsely decorated, in parts. Where we sat in the back is a little like a hotel, a little sterile looking but at night I'm sure it feels completely different. I'll defo be back to try for of the menu. read more

They also have booze if you are that kinda brunchee It took a while to choose, finally went for Crab toast...it was loads, potatoes tasted amazing, crab claws were yum, crabmeat on the sourdough was quite intense - I love it when it's mild, just a bit too much for me here..well I solved it easy and just didn't eat everything... Came here recently with some friends for one of the most divine brunches I've ever had! I had heard great things so my hopes were high, and Bow Lane certainly didn't disappoint. We made a booking and were glad we did - it was very busy! We were promptly seated by a friendly waitress and given our food & drink menus. It was so difficult to choose what to order as everything looked so nice! I'm veggie and am used to having generally just the one option - but here I had about three, and each one sounded amazing! I eventually settled on a dish of eggs, loadsa veggies and hollandaise. The veggies ended up being tomato, peppers, mushroom, spinach, potatoes and artichoke. They weren't kidding with their "loadsa veggies"! It was really yummy! My friends both opted for the lamb burger and raved about it! We literally didn't speak for about 5 minutes because we were so engrossed in stuffing our faces with the lovely food! :) We also ordered cocktails which were really excellent. Once we'd finished we were so stuffed but decided we had to try the sweet options as they looked so incredible. We ordered pancakes and doughnuts - WOW. The pancakes were some of the nicest I've ever had with seriously indulgent and gorgeous toppings - caramelised banana, a kind of caramel/chocolate sauce, nuts & ice-cream. This is what pancake dreams are made of! The doughnuts were equally decadent and moreish. They were very fresh and served with a huge bowl of melted chocolate for dipping. Good brunch option in the city centre. This place is apparently run by the same folks who own Whitefriar Grill so I went in with great expectations and I was not disappointed. I ordered Poached Eggs & Greens (pictured with my review) and it was quite delicious paired with some really good Hollandaise sauce. The decor of the place looks a bit bland but since they've just opened up I'm positive they'll find their groove quickly. I also had a really nice Cappuccino with my meal. The kind of coffee that's just no nonsense and has a bold taste. I didn't try their "detox" drinks, but they look very good and you probably want to go for it after a heavy night out. read more

Their brunch menu certainly is different and varied... I could have ordered every item on the menu, but that might have been a little bit greedy. I opted for the Crab toast on sourdough, which came with poached eggs, crab claws, samphire, remoulade sauce and (although not mentioned on the menu) roast potatoes. Whoa, those potatoes......those potatoes were so good, I could have eaten a bucket of them. I think they definitely should change the sourdough to a brioche, as it was tough to cut and nearly impossible to chew. My poached eggs were borderline - nearly sent them back as they were pretty much cooked, rather than nice and runny. My friends were happy with their lamb burger (which came with very tasty sweet potato fries- of course I stole a few of her plate!) and eggs hollandaise with hamhock. We shared the mini-donuts with chocolate sauce/ marshmallows....they were LUSH... They actually overcharged us on the bill as the donuts were 6€ rather than 7,50€ (small mistake) - and as an apology they discarded the donuts completely of the bill. SWEET! I would give Bow Lane 5 stars if only based on comfort, interior design and staff. I instantly felt at home. For the brunch itself 4 stars. I will come back here 100%, and would love to go one evening and try their dinner menu. read more

Overall a very nice brunch. Nice interior with comfortable seating and tables well spaced we booked a table which wasn't really needed as there were empty tables dotted around. The eggs were slightly over cooked but still oozed once cut. My only complaint was the charred stringy leek which would be better omitted. Coffee and donuts to finish. I had a really nice brunch here the other day with my fellow Yelpers. The restaurant is split into two separate sides - the bar side where you enter has a nice vibe but the other side is pretty much just tables. Bright and spacious, which was great, but maybe something on the walls would have helped? I ordered the eggs, greens, grains with freekeh, tomato chutney & hollandaise. Delicious! I'm a grazer, so I love plates with loads of variety. I added a side of avocado salsa for good measure and someone's sweet potato fries accidentally ended up in front of me (whoops and hooray). Everything was really tasty and the portions were generous. My dish was €10 and I was stuffed, so it doesn't break the bank either. It won't be long before I'll be back for dinner & cocktails. Brunch review! I was along here on Saturday with a number of fellow yelpers to try out the brunch, the most important meal of the weekend in my book, and was quite taken with this new venue. I did find the staff a very mixed bunch, the guy who served our table was lovely, but the female waiter was brusque and forgetful, hardly a good combination for wait staff. I had the crab toast, a large toasted slice of sourdough with a crab meat mix, poached eggs, tex mex sauce and some roasties, it was lovely, an interesting and moreish combination of flavours, I'd have it again next time if there weren't so many other items on the menu I want to taste! I also got a drink called the "walk of shame" which was very tasty and refreshing, but wildly overpriced for the quantity, 3 slugs and it was gone, 80% ice in a glass is cheating, lads! read more

Came here for brunch on a Saturday. Had a table booked - tried to book for 1pm which wasn't possible but managed to get a table for 12:45 for 90 mins. When we got there though there were a lot of empty tables dotted around - they must do this to facilitate walk ins?! I love the feel of this place. The tables are well spaced and you definitely feel like you can have a private conversation. The staff are super nice - efficient and welcoming. I tried one of their detox drinks - In Bits (Rosemary, cucumber, black pepper, apple juice and ginger syrup over ice) really refreshing! Food I chose the birdwich which comes with disco fries (I swapped those for my other half's sweet potato fries!) The birdwich is fried chicken with jalapeño white cabbage coleslaw and melty Swiss cheese. Super yum! Ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio - which was OK. Went nicely with my food anyhow. I ordered an Americano and for dessert we shared the donuts which come with marshmallow and Nutella dipping sauce. The donuts were warm and had a lovey custard inside. So fresh, sooo good! First things first: my friends and I went to Bow Lane to watch six nations and have brunch, which Bow Lane has been marketing a lot. We explained this when booking. When we arrived, our table was nowhere in sight of the two screens. In fact the main screen could only be viewed by one table, while the small screen could be watched from the bar if you turned the stools around. Not really a rugby brunch then. We ended up going elsewhere for the match after quickly demolishing our food. The food is very tasty, portions are good, and the options for veggies and fussy eaters are decent. I had and loved the fried chicken burger, and the venison fried breakfast was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Whoever did the copy writing for their menu either has a great sense of humour or none, as it tells us that this is the place for Dublin's "gritty underclass of sophisticates" to engage in "typical Dublin social intercourse". At least it gave us, and the many people I sent screen grabs to, a good laugh. read more

Our group of 5 had brunch here weekend before last, and I will definitely return. The space is much bigger than meets the eye and there is a nice mix of booths, tables and a few partitions to provide some semblance of privacy. To kick things off we ordered our preferred doses of caffeine and I was surprised when they accepted my request for an iced latte, as many places in Dublin don't offer this. My latte had a healthy amount of ice and tasted really refreshing given how hot it was that morning. For my dish I ordered the truffle egg toast with wild mushrooms and kale. It was the perfect mashup between savoury and lightly sweet, and was extremely filling. The best part? It was only €10. I came here for the Yelp Elite brunch and quite liked it. Bow lane seems to be one of the newly opened places around Dublin beside Whitefriar Grill(looks like the economy is picking up! Yay!) and a trendy one at that. The atmosphere had a sophisticated feel to it with nice seating, cool music, dim lights (although the back part of the restaurant is brighter) and an extensive cocktail and drinks menu. Brunch was pretty good, I had the Cobb salad which was not bad but I wouldn't go as far as to say that it was amazing. I also ordered a mint tea which I was fairly impressed by; fresh mint leaves and not a silly teabag in sight! The food did take quite a while to come though, but maybe because it was one of those busy Saturday afternoons. The service was good, I don't have any complaints or anything of special mention there as it was standard. The prices were reasonable with most dishes costing around the €10~13 range. Overall, the cool atmosphere was the part that struck me most, and as a brunch option I would put Bows Lane on one of the recommended Dublin brunch lists! This place used to be your average run of the mill local boozer until the crowd from white friar grill got their mitts on it Now its a really relaxed and chill spot for a nice bit o brunch and they do some fantastic cocktails aswell. The lamb burger here is no wooly jumper and it will literally have any self respecting carnivore salivating at the mouth! Adorned with sweet potato fries and washed down with a non alcoholic cocktail with beetroot juice, rosemary, thyme and other magical ingredients this was a meal to die for. The girls who wander the floor are very friendly and accomodating, im not talking in a west virginia "you want some gravy with them there biscuits hon?" Kinda way. But in a nice service with a smile and not a scowl in sight sorta way. I felt very relaxed here. The lights are low and the prices are very fair for the quality on offer. I dabbled in An 'Old Fashioned' cocktail here and had the joy of listening to a "Connoisseur" (fellow customer) scoff at the bourbon being used in it being Woodford Reserve, you know the kind of person who talks a big game and probably doesnt even have real Cif in their cupboards at home - hence why its difficult to take a shine to em! The cocktail was lovely by the way if you are reading this sir, I was too busy enjoying it to have the chats! I would recommend Bow Lane for casual lunches and brunches and in the evening for dinner, cocktails and mocktails...Dress up or dress down but if you have a want in you for something sweet then try the buttermilk pancakes with boozy bananas, butterscotch sauce and icecream. Came here for dinner to meet up with my cousin and his wife. We had a table in the back of the restaurant where it was nice and cozy for us to have a conversation and hear each other, since it was years since we last saw each other and had a lot to catch up on. The one thing I would change about the section we were sitting in is the lighting. I don't like sitting in a dark room where it's hard to read the menu and see your food with a small table candle. The atmosphere was fabulous and our waiter was fantastic; I forgot this name but I believe he was from Spain? Maybe...he was just a delight and we had a very nice chat with him. Next time I'm in Dublin I'm definitely coming back here. It was one of the best meals I had in Ireland besides two other restaurants, and one was in the north and the other in the south of Ireland. Here's some of the things we tried. Their spicy chicken wings, blue cheese dip, celery sticks. The Baked brie and artichoke dip, pistachio crumb, fig chutney. Char-grilled tuna, sashimi grade, aubergine caponata, asparagus, crispy polenta and Chicken kiev with crushed peas, tomato chutney, baby potatoes with rosemary salt. Last weekend my husband had tried walk in for Brunch at Whitefriar Grill on a sunday afternoon. I mean, it was right after new years, and town was dead, so I was chancing they may have space. Unfortunately, they did not. But then we saw Bow Lane right next door. I had heard this place had just opened and thought, Oh let's give it a try. Which also means, "I'm too hungry to walk any further, we're going next door now." Luckily, they had loads of space, we were sat down quickly and provided menus. My husband ordered the crab toast, and I ordered the Loadsa Veggie with egg" plate (the item didn't really have a name). And of course... A bloody mary and the camden banger. I was really excited about trying everything, and about 10 minutes later our drinks came out, and 20 minutes after that our food arrived. But I was okay waiting, I had no where to be. The "loadsa Veggie" plate was fantastic, it was a mix of Faroukh, poached eggs, hollandaise and various green veg with some middle eastern spices mixed in. Definitely a great option to get in my veg after not eating them all christmas. I mean, I could've made it healthier by not eating the hollandaise sauce, but what's the fun in that?! I didn't try my husbands Crab on Toast, but he said his was absolutely fantastic as well. Once we were finished, we thought, "well, it's still early, so let's have one more round of drinks." Unfortunately, I had to look around for quite a while to grab someone's attention to order more. At this point, they weren't very busy and there were no servers on the floor. Eventually, as one of the staff came back inside from their break, they saw me looking around and asked if I needed something. I was able to order my drinks and resume pretending I was being healthy. All in all this place has a great vibe, and I can see it being a great spot for brunch, dinner, and a night out. I wasn't overly impressed with how slow the service was, but I realise this place is still new and probably still finding their footing. I look forward to coming back here again. read more

Called in for brunch last week and I will be hurrying back. My friend and I both got the "Lumberjacks Breakfast" which was just meat on meat on meat and just DELICIOUS. The portion was really huge and neither of us could finish it but that was not for the want of trying! The staff were very present and attentive on the floor. Great place for cocktails and food at night - came here for a surprise birthday dinner pretty early on a Friday and the atmosphere was just perfect. I got there a bit late so missed most of the food, but the fish and chips appetizer they ordered was delicious if not what I expected! Drinks are decently priced and the bar staff are friendly. Really though it's the laid-back but still trendy atmosphere of the place which is what's to brag about. With lots of wood inside and actually rather romantic lighting, everyone was looking at their best while not struggling to make out who they were talking to! The background music was at the perfect level to facilitate conversation as well - loud enough to hum or sing along to the songs that you liked but definitely no distraction when other things were happening! The Negroni which two of our party got was particularly good - I had previously had one at Yamamori which I didn't much care for but would order it here again. In fact, the whole experience was so nice as to make me sure to come back, which I think says even more than the price or selection of drinks - all of which were very decent! read more

I wasn't sure what to expect from Bow Lane to be honest. I thought it might be full of hipsters- nothing bad about that but I'm not one- but I was wrong. There was a good crowd in and our table of forty something's was the oldest there. However we had a terrific experience. Our group of six were seated by the window on their long table. Service was prompt and friendly. We ended up drinking a very smooth Rioja red and the New Zealand sauvignon blanc. I was drinking the red and it was great. I had wood pigeon to start- very rich and tasty. There was foie gras,which I like in the dish but I did feel that it didn't match anything else in the dish. However I enjoyed my appetizer a lot. Two of us had venison for mains and it was amazing. It was served with a port jus and red cabbage. I tasted my friends halibut- delicious- and steak- also delicious. However we all thought the venison was the best dish. We finished with espresso martinis- what can I say, we love ourselves. These were very good. I really enjoyed both the food and the ambiance of Bow Lane. I think it's a wonderful place for dinner. I like cocktails so I will go back to check out their extensive list. read more

Good. Really good. We went for a Lamb burgers with a sweet potato fries. My first favorite was that the waitress asked how do we want our lamb to be cooked. For me this is the first signal that the meat is fresh (frozen meat always need to be cooked all way through). My second favorite is the atmosphere. You wont be sited 2cm away from the other table, the place is spacious enough. And the third favorite is the food itself. Burger was very tasty and chips were just the way they should be. Lovely New Year's Day dinner in Bow Lane last night! The place was quiet (Dublin city centre was deserted it being such a miserable evening & the calm after the NYE storm); but still had a lovely atmosphere! I arrived just on time for our dinner reservation so just by passed through the bar but everyone was very friendly and I made a mental note to return for drinks another time! Needless to say; I ordered a cocktail to start from their extensive cocktail menu which was very tasty! The food was lovely; I was a little delicate after NYE so by passed the fish options but am dying to try their scallops now! I had the Duck with Potato Skins to start (great hangover cure) and the medium cooked lamb burger for main. All delicious. We had wanted to try the ribs but unfortunately were sold out! My coeliac friend would have liked her options printed on the menu but she was still quite well catered for. I'll definitely be back minus hangover next time to try the seafood options! read more

Called in on spec for a Sunday brunch. Will definitely give this place another go. This place is pretty true to the NYC brunch style. A short but comprehensive food menu with a focus on tasty (possible not too healthy) food and most dishes containing the ever brunchy ingredient...eggs. I had the 'birdwitch' - deep fried chicken burger with slaw; and a side of disco fries (chips, cheese and gravy). Delicious and very deserving of my Sunday savagery. My eating companions had crab toast and a veggie based breakfast. For once it seems like I had the pick of the day as they said that there's was good but they were overly impressed. In true brunch fashion - the drinks and cocktails menu is pretty extensive. The decor is dark and comfy, combining green leather seating and dark wood features. The tunes were not overpowering but they were funky and definitely more than mere background. Service was attentive. A good solid performance. read more

I'm still not entirely convinced I'm a brunch person :-) We got a fantastic table with lots of room - its quite dark inside so getting the seat inside the window is a bonus! The menu is quite varied - I went for the birdwich and my pals went for the eggs benedict. Presentation wise - my birdwich wasn't the best and I ended up picking off the cheese on it as I felt it along with the breading was too much. The coleslaw was delish however...wasn't too sure about the disco fries (chips with gravy and cheese on top) but I didn't dislike them...just not sure I would order them again. The ham that came with the eggs benedict was quite watery - it didn't go down very well on a hungover Saturday morning. The donuts were a delicious treat. Plusses include decor, service and readily affordable price. Food is ok and doesn't deserve its own star, as is the menu which is trying to be something (not sure what) but misses the mark slightly. Understand that it has to be different to its smaller, more established sister next door but there's something that they're missing. The only thing i can say is that its identity is confusing and doesn't really stand for envying in particular, not particularly a great brunch place (as Whitefriar has established itself as), not an awesome burger place, not and kick ass chicken joint etc... I had a three course meal with wine this weekend. I'll start with the staff who was efficient and very friendly, which is always a great starting point. Since there was nobody in the restaurant area, the waitress offered to sit us in the bar at one of the booth. Very good choice and very confortable seats too. I started with the chicory and crozier salad with apple. It bothered me that the only dressing was a too of truffle oil which doesn't go well at all with chicory: when a salad is already on the bitter side (chicory AND blue cheese) you need to balance it with cider vinegar and put more apples. Then I had the steak which was cooked just how I liked it and it was very good: tender, juicy, tasty. It came with mushrooms and chunky chips, and a well-balanced garlic topping on the steak. For dessert I opted for the chocolate pavé with salted caramel ice cream. I loved that desert, very lush and the touch of salt was a good touch. All in all a nice cosy meal in a nice cosy place. A huge crowd of us came in for a hen and we were all so well looked after! The cocktails were DELICIOUS! I'll definitely be back for more bottomless action. Was looking for some fish and chips and defiantly found it here. They had a special for two to three course menu. I was told that the fish and chips was deconstructed but I was not disappointed. My boyfriend and I had an app of the deconstructed fish and chips and split the ribeye. The bartenders were very nice. When closing out we asked about other places to go and the manager gave us a map of places to go. Great customer service. read more
