Dalton is our waiter. He's pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable too. Started off with the French fried pickle, Caprese, blackened grouper, Nashville hot chicken, mushroom pizza, side of cornbread and side if buttermilk biscuits. We ordered a lot, that's what happens when I am famished. We are so hungry. Dalton brought us some app plates and let us know our apps were on their way out shortly. The French fried pickles are yummy, crunchy and just the right amount of tartness from the fry sized pickle. The dipping sauce is good with it too. The mushroom pizza is nicely chewy, the dough and the truffle oil is strong enough we smelled it as it was placed on our table too. The mushrooms are fresh as is the dough. We didn't get our side of biscuit or the cornbread, but it as fine since I was stuffed before my Caprese was out. The Nashville hot chicken was nice and flavorful, crunchy and a huge breast. I couldn't get my mouth over the whole sandwich, it was that big. The chicken was moist, not too messy of a sauce. The grouper was tasty and nicely seasoned too. It's nicely cooked and the tomato sauce has a nice kick too. The grouper had a nice meaty and fatty ratio. It was perfectly cooked. The cornbread was good as well. The Caprese was quite good. One more mozzarella slice would have been nice with the one lone tomato. Food was good, service was good, minus forgetting the biscuit and the cornbread. read more

As restaurants have slowly opened up in the brave new world we are living in, I've found myself eager to try new places, especially as I search for more distances and outdoor dining. After a morning spent hiking, my significant other and I were ready to grab a bite. We searched for brunch in nearby Brighton, and Bourbons was one of the top-rated restaurants that we found. A nearby city lot provided free parking, and within minutes we had arrived and were seated at a table on their sidewalk along Main St. With brunch offerings running the gamut, we played it relatively tame and went for some old favorites: Eggs Benedict and Huevos Rancheros. The beau added a side of candied bacon bourbon Bloody Mary to keep things interesting. Between the pleasant outdoor setting, the perfectly prepared and seasoned food, and the excellent service, we thoroughly enjoyed our midday meal. If you need a place to recharge and enjoy a weekend meal while near Brighton, Bourbons is definitely top shelf! read more

We ordered Old Fashion's with Woodford Reserve Double Oaked and unlike our last visit, we did not get a good mix, instead they were more like glasses of sipping whiskey instead of Old Fashions. As far as the food went, I ordered the Nashville Chicken and while it was good, in my opinion the chicken was over spiced, as a result, it was not outstanding, in fact Popeye's spicy chicken might be better. My wife ordered the Salmon and while overall her dish was good, the Salmon needed the corn to add flavor. I will conclude with the fact that the overall pairing of the food and drinks is still exceptional. read more

Yummy! Very nice atmosphere, you could dress up or down, everyone was really friendly. They have a good menu selection, and the cocktails were really good! Some traditional and some with a twist. I had the blackened grouper sandwich (for lunch), I really enjoyed it, and I liked that they toasted/grilled the bread which was much nicer than just regular bread. They won't sub a side salad for the fried or chips that come with the sandwiches. :( So I added a side salad, they serve with citrus vinaigrette (I think it was the house dressing), it was excellent so worth the add on. French dip was 5 stars on a Friday afternoon around 4PM. Service was superb. Pimento hamburger was so-so. Cooked perfectly as medium with pink inside and not dry but pickles were too thin and soggy. Tomato was greenhouse type and flavorless. Meat wasn't very seasoned either and the pimento was runny. Fries were perfect - hot, skinny-ish, and crispy on the outside but not greasy. I'll try somthing different next time. Cute place! read more

Husband and I came to town for a Kentucky Derby party from STL. I'd searched for best bars and saw positive reviews. We showed up around 9. I wanted to sit at bar. It was full. It was our first time visiting Bourbons, but I had heard good things about the experience so I wanted to give it a try for a date night. We saw that there were homecoming parties taking pictures nearby so we wondered if there was going to be an issue getting seated but the hostess was so awesome to us - they put our name on a list since we weren't ready to eat and wanted to walk around downtown and explore. It wasn't your standard wait list where they call or text you when a table was ready. Basically we walked around, had drinks elsewhere and came back when we were ready to eat. They had us sit for a second and moved us right to the front of the queue and got seated within five mins. We started with an old fashioned and the blueberry martini. Both were excellent. The blueberry martini itself wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, mostly light and fresh, but it did have sugar on the rim. While enjoying our drinks it was easy to notice that the atmosphere itself was pleasant: the noise level was a little elevated with how many parties there were but not so much that you need to talk louder by any means. It was a good level for a date night on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We ordered the 6 oz. filet and and prime rib entrees from the dinner menu, and I would say the time it took for us to get our food was perfect. The filet was perfectly cooked medium rare as ordered and came with a slightly spicy pat of cajun herb butter on top. It was served with grilled asparagus and a creamy mushroom risotto. The flavors really just made sense together, but the one concern with this dish is that the asparagus was slightly overcooked. Sadly nothing is worse that overcooked vegetables. The prime rib dish was exquisite: perfectly tender meat with a robust au ju, paired with mashed potatoes and collard greens. A lot of restaurants overly work mashed potatoes, but not so with this restaurant - they retained the natural potato flavor and consistency, without relying so much on cream based ingredients to make them fluffy or creamy. It reminded me of authentic southern home cooking. The collard greens were prepared with bacon and sitting in the au ju, which worked wonderfully. This dish was also enormously portioned so be prepared to take some home. Altogether we experienced very friendly hosts and wait staff, excellent drinks, an inviting atmosphere, and delicious food. I think the only negative aspect of our dining experience was the overcooked asparagus, but everything else was so good that it wouldn't even be fair to knock of a star of the review for that. Bourbons was one of the best quality dining experiences we have had in some time and I highly recommend it to anyone that likes a good southern-style dinner. read more

Oh boy when I went here I was on a first date with probably the worst Date ever... So I really rushed through this meal and didn't get to enjoy everything. My lasagna was so damn good I will definitely be going back for that but my favorite part of my experience was the manager/server God. I hope I remember his name correctly. The food is always good. Always. They just get it right. Favorite items: Fig & Pear Pizza (it's an app) Braised Short Ribs (they are mouthwatering!) Shrimp & Grits (just delicious. Perfect grits, good flavor!) then there is their fried chicken it could be the best fried chicken around. It is so flavorful, moist, and the breading is great. Even better for brunch with their chicken and waffles. Their cocktails are totally yum! The Cajun lemonade is on point every time. The atmosphere is wonderful. Inviting, warm and just cool. Very rude hostess. We arrived with a reservation in place and were hoping to be seated inside (no option to request indoor seating) as we had been walking up and down the Main Street for an event all afternoon in 80+ degree weather. They initially seated us in a high top table directly in the sun, so we requested to sit at a table (still outdoors) with shade. He begrudgingly agreed to our request and as he was approaching the table there was another couple that was being led to the same table. So the hostess proceeded to seat us at the table and very rudely said, "see guys this is why we can't..ugh" and walked away. Very rude. Will not return. Didn't event want to eat here - but did because we had made reservations, lines were long for just about every other establishment, and we needed a break from the heat. read more
