We came from out-of-town and saw the great reviews for this chain restaurant, but we were disappointed at the quality of the food and the high prices. It was oddly empty on a Friday night. The ambiance is that of a nice steakhouse. It is beautifully decorated in warm-colored woods. The servers gave the impression that none of them wanted to be there. The Spinach Dip we ordered was difficult to eat, as there was a half-inch thick layer of cheese covering the whole thing, which the chips were unable to penetrate. When using spoons instead, the cheese just kept pulling and would not let up. Essentially, there was an absurd amount of cheese. The dip itself tasted fine. Hubby and I ordered the ribeyes, which were ok, not very memorable. Having never been there before, it seems like this restaurant was very successful a long time ago, but has gone downhill since. If they would QC the food and find servers that care about being there it could be saved.

Waited just under an hour to be told my ticket was up next. Asked to just check out and leave. Was told food was being made. Sat a few more minutes. Asked for it to go. Paid my bill was handed my order. No manager in site. Second bad experience in less than a year. Made it home the lid was off my order all over the bottom of the bag. Not happening again.

Finally came to this place after being told how great their food was. If you're driving south, it comes up out of nowhere and sits a tiny bit back from the road behind a line of trees. You'll miss it if you're not looking for it. Came here on a Sunday evening around 5-530pm. We got lucky with snagging 2 seats at the bar. It was otherwise a 40 minute wait for a table. Parking lot is pretty big also so you shouldn't have any issues finding a spot. We very pleased with the immediate assistance of the bar staff. A young man was training and the bartender stepped away for a moment so he got us waters and a food menu. I appreciate him doing something for us rather than just letting us sit and wonder (which has happened to us elsewhere). Once the bartender came back, the drinks were flowing. Food & Beverage: Requested a coffee drink but was stumped when he said he could make one. He suggested a millionaires coffee and I signed up for deliciousness. The husband had a rum & coke with a nice looking ratio (if you drink this, you know what I'm talking about). After that, I stuck to wine. They have a great wine list and a full bar. They also had a list of specialty cocktails. Menu was fantastic with prices that illustrate the quality of food you're about to eat. Highly recommend any of their steaks. Salads (we had a Michigan and a Caesar) were amazing. Classic Calamari and Brussel sprouts were a delight to start with. Attire: may want to go more on the dressy-casual side rather than casual-casual. I wore a white sundress and fit right in. Hubby wore a plain dark blue tshirt and gray golf shirts. You don't need to be dressed-to-the-nines but don't look like a hobo. Wait staff: very attentive but not overbearing. Had great recommendations and we never waited long for our food.

Our server was polite but not friendly, and not particularly engaging or helpful. She did not explain the menu, mention any specials, or offer recommendations. For a restaurant that positions itself as a fine dining experience, we expected a higher level of service and attentiveness. We started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer. It was decent, but there was so much going on with the dish that the tuna itself seemed lost. For my entrée, I ordered the Braised Short Rib. It was absolutely delicious and was the highlight of the meal. However, it was served over a fried potato component that was extremely disappointing. It was overcooked, lacked flavor, and did not complement the dish at all. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye steak. He rarely orders steak at restaurants because he cooks excellent steaks at home, but he decided to try one at a restaurant known for fine dining. Unfortunately, the steak was the biggest disappointment of the evening. It was bland and lacked even basic seasoning. The menu states that the steaks are served with the restaurant's signature zip sauce, but none was served with his meal. For a $68 ribeye, we expected much more flavor and attention to detail. For the first time ever, he did not finish his steak. When we expressed our concerns, the manager came over, apologized, and removed the steak from our bill. We appreciated that gesture and felt the manager handled the situation professionally. While the restaurant itself is beautiful and upscale, the music selection felt out of place for the fine-dining atmosphere they appear to be creating. The energetic classic rock/pop playlist distracted somewhat from the elegant ambiance and didn't match the level of sophistication reflected in the décor and pricing. Fine dining isn't just expensive food on fancy plates. It's consistency. It's a server who knows the menu inside and out. It's attention to detail. It's a steak arriving perfectly seasoned and exactly as described on the menu. It's the feeling that every part of the experience was intentional. This was a huge miss.

My husband and I went here today for the first time, to celebrate my birthday, which was a few weeks ago. Our waiter was Mark, and he was very good and attentive. I started with their Strawberry Fields cocktail, one of the seasonal ones, and my husband had the Old Fashioned - we enjoyed both. For our appetizer, we ordered the beef tallow candle... I had had a similar appetizer at Frame in Oak Park a while back, which has now closed, and it was good. I didn't like this one quite as much, but it was still good, and also came with some butter. I had the 8 ounce petite filet and unfortunately this is where I was disappointed - which is especially disappointing because this place is a steakhouse. I thought it was nice and tender, but didn't have much taste. The zip sauce provided with it was very good with it, but I always say that the mark of a good steak is if it doesn't need any sauces to go with it. My husband got the 16 ounce New York strip, and I felt the same way about that steak as well. That being said, we got the Potatoes Romanoff and the Brussels sprouts for our sides and those were both excellent. I would order both again, but the rest of their sides also looked good so I would maybe try something else. The Reserve also excels at customer service. They gave me a really nice candle as a birthday gift, and a card signed by the staff. They also brought out a rather large birthday sundae on the house, with fruit in it, and I was impressed by both of these things... I have never been to a restaurant where they give you a full-size candle for your birthday, as well as dessert! Because of this, I didn't get to see the full dessert menu, but the guests at the table next to us were eyeing the crème brûlée, it seemed. Based on this experience, I would come back here, but I would maybe get different steak or an accompaniment for it - they had seasoned butter add-ons and others, too. Overall, however, it was a very nice night out.

Their cornbread was so moist and had a nice flavor. The breading on the chicken was perfectly cooked and had a nice sweet flavor. We decided on the bread pudding for dessert which was easily a shareable item. So much flavor and wasn't too overly sweet with the candied pecans and sweet drizzle topping. The menu offers a lot of delicious options, and both my husband and our friend loved the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. I ordered the Salmon, which was okay. The Spanish Coffee was one of the best I've had. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was how my food allergies were handled. I had included my dietary restrictions in our reservation and also called the restaurant the night before to make sure they could accommodate me. I was reassured after they checked with the kitchen that most items on the menu could be modified to work within my restrictions. Based on that conversation, I felt comfortable keeping our reservation. Since we were dining with others for a birthday celebration, I had hoped the information from my reservation and phone call would have been communicated to our server so I wouldn't need to go through all of my restrictions again at the table. Instead, I had to explain everything during dinner. Because the restaurant is extremely loud and the tables are packed closely together, our server had to stand across the table from me, which meant having to discuss my allergies loudly in front of our entire party and the surrounding tables. It was an uncomfortable and awkward situation. What was most frustrating, however, was then being told that my options were essentially limited to a protein and green beans. This was a far cry from what I had been told the night before that the kitchen could modify most items on the menu to accommodate me. I completely understand that not every restaurant can accommodate every allergy or dietary restriction, and I don't expect them to. My concern is that I specifically called ahead for this reason and relied on the information I was given. Had I been told beforehand that my options would be so limited, we simply would have chosen another restaurant where I could enjoy a nice meal along with everyone else for my husband's birthday. For anyone dining with significant food allergies or restrictions, I would recommend getting very specific information about what can actually be accommodated before making a reservation.

The restaurant itself is bright, colorful, clean, and really well designed. I loved the clever bench seating, the bar was well stocked, and there's outdoor seating plus an upstairs area that looked really cool. They also have a walk-up taco window outside, which is a fun idea. We sat in the bar area, and the service was amazing. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food, though, was really underwhelming. Almost everything we tried lacked seasoning and flavor. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, which had very little chicken and were pretty bland. I did like the very thinly sliced jalapeños on top. The rice was nice and fluffy but didn't have much flavor, and they serve black beans, which just aren't my preference with Mexican food. The house-made salsa was surprisingly sweet, and I was disappointed that the chips didn't seem house-made. If I'm going out for Mexican food, fresh chips are one of those little things I really look forward to. My husband ordered tacos at $6 each, which felt pretty steep considering we're used to excellent tacos in the $2-$3 range. His carne asada was cooked closer to medium rare, which wasn't what we expected at all from carne asada. The queso was another disappointment. It tasted very similar to Rico's cheese sauce you can buy at the grocery store. Overall, great service, great decor, very clean and a fun atmosphere, but the food just didn't match the setting or the reviews for us. At these prices, I expected a lot more flavor. Unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed.
