We came for brunch on a sunny Sunday morning and sat outside; they have umbrellas so that you stay shaded. The server was very friendly, quick and offered good recommendations. I ordered the crepes on the specials menu and they were to die for-stuffed with cream cheese filling, lots of berries and a touch of Nutella. The short rib Benedict (split in 2 pictured) came with sweet potato home fries, which was a nice complement to the meal. Everything was amazing from the moment we walked up to the hostess stand to the moment we left as we were told to have a good night! Every staff member was incredibly friendly!! Little touches make the difference, like being handed the menu, the drinks refilled as soon as they are emptied, patience as we looked over the menu. All of our meals were absolutely delicious! Our server Paul was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! The only negative for my family was that our daughter is easily overwhelmed with new places especially if they are noisy, but once she put her noise-canceling earbuds in, she was fine! My fiancé and I loved Bourbons, never had a bad experience until our last visit. The ambience wasn't great due to the service and attitude we received from two waitresses along with the manager. We had two completely incompetent waitresses, one brought us water and took our drink order after a few minutes. We then didn't see her for 20 minutes, at this point we still hadn't received our drinks nor did anyone take our food order. Another waitress had been eyeing us and came over to take our food order. While taking our food order, the original waitress we had came back to interrupt the waitress taking our order to discuss another table. Something that should have waited until after taking our order and stepping away from our table. Then our original waitress brought our drinks. Sadly the drink I had ordered wasn't made with the correct ingredients, and that drink is my staple here so I knew it was off and had different topping. Someone brought the food out to us, I had already taken a few bites of the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and fries before I noticed a hair inside my chicken sandwich sticking out of the side, and a hair in my pile of fries. Eventually the second waitress that took our order came back, and I pointed out both of the hairs, she then proceeded to take my plate and said they would make me a new sandwich, but we had already been there awhile and I had lost my appetite. I asked to leave the sandwich and to take it off the bill. I did not want a new sandwich made, we didn't want to wait or be there any longer. She said she couldn't do that but they could make me a new sandwich or I could talk to the manager so we said we'd like to talk to the manager. Nate the manager, seemed friendly, we see him every time we come in. When he came to talk to us, we could barely hear his voice as he is extremely shy and may be socially awkward. He then proceeded to take my plate and tell me I couldn't eat it due to health reasons, which I understood, but he insisted on bringing me a new sandwich or one to go. I said no we just want it taken off and that he can leave the sandwich as I do not want a new one. He took the plate, spoke to one of the owners and then brought it back to me, as if I wanted it after he held it for 5 minutes talking. I thought Bourbons had higher standards, I thought they would at least treat their clients right and take the sandwich off the bill without asking, or have one made to go even if I didn't want it. The plate should have been taken to the manager and the kitchen to show the cooks immediately. We shouldn't have had to ask for that to be removed from our bill. We have always been very kind and generous, especially to the people of Bourbons, and that deserved no tip and no bill. This experience left an awful taste in our mouth, and what was once our favorite restaurant, we may never return to. I don't believe we would even be treated well if we did return. read more

I have eaten here several times over the past few years and the food is consistently great. Live in the south and few places make greens and grits better. Bartender was very friendly and welcoming but not overly attentive, which I prefer. As you would expect with the name, the bourbon selection is great, from Russell's to old forester to Pappies. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, has a very cool vibe. The place is very loud so if you're going with a group to chat and catch up with it will be hard to hear if it's busy. Our waitress was the sweetest and did a great job. Food was just okay. I got the Mac and cheese and it lacked flavor, it had zero it was basically plain noodles tasting. My friends got more of the brunch items and no one was blown away by their meal just all kind of bland and then for the price. Definitely higher priced than what it should be for lack of flavor. I would saw portion size seemed a little smaller to then other places for similar items. We did the mimosas and Bellini which were fine but more juice than any champagne. read more

On a roadtrip through Michigan, the Southern Chicken Salad (salad with fried chicken) was my favorite dish from the entire trip :) fried chicken was fire and the salad was fresh. The smokehouse pizza is legit! It was a nice thin crust with brisket and smoked Gouda, topped with crispy onions. Delicious! Not as easy to eat with your hands but a knife and fork make it very easy; just like the Italians recommend. But for a place named bourbons, not all cocktails are equal. I got the rosemary sour and I cannot say I would recommend it. My friend got some decent drinks like the cask strength old fashioned and that was really good. The whiskey sour needs some fresh squeezed lemon juice and an egg white; let's make that happen asap. We dined outdoors, and this place has an awesome selection for individual pours. We were a group of 10 visiting from out of town and decided to check out Proven. The atmosphere was nice and we were hungry, so it seemed promising. I paid a $90 bill with $100 via tap--wasn't paying much attention in the moment. A server named Rachel later came outside while we were leaving and loudly said, "In case you didn't know, we work on tips," then singled me out by asking someone to tell "the guy in the red" (me) in front of everyone. I was completely shocked and humiliated. It turns out the tip I left was around 11%, which may not have been enough in her eyes--but to publicly call me out like that was wildly unprofessional. I ended up giving her another $10 just to de-escalate, but honestly, I was upset and embarrassed. Never experienced anything like this. I can't recommend a place that employs someone who would handle a situation like that with such disrespect. read more

Seated at a two top right in front of the bathroom and got stared at by management and our server came over to let us know that the management said we either needed to order another drink or leave since we weren't ordering food we got our checks and left. I came here once for brunch and wasn't impressed came today for dinner and it was much better. Ordered pickle fries for an appetizer and they were great! Freshly fried with a little crispness to the batter. And the white bbq dipping sauce was good. There was a drink special for Ladies Night that was made with rum and was blueberry coconut lemonade. Can't remember 109% what it was called, but it was amazing. Seriously one of the best alcohol drinks I've ever had! Main course was buttermilk fried chicken. It was cooked fine. Crispy. The best part was the peppercorn honey on it. The buttermilk biscuit SUCKED! It was so dense and flavorless. The green beans were a little undercooked. Mashed sweet potatoes were pretty good. This place has some of the best and most friendly staff in Brighton. Aside from that there isn't much that ever urges me to come back. Last night I had the fried chicken which I've heard is very good but was disappointed to see that $22 gets you one small boneless thigh with no seasoning and badly prepared breading that immediately falls off. We also had an order of the short ribs which definitely are not short ribs but instead probably beef shoulder. Very dry and under seasoned. This place was, as usual for Brighton, very good when it first opened but has taken a sharp turn down in recent years. If you're looking to try something new look elsewhere. And if you want good fried chicken KFC isn't far. read more

We placed a takeout order while hanging out at a nearby Brewery. Our food was ready within 25-30min, which we thought was very reasonable. I ordered the Shrimp & Crawfish Etouffee and I enjoyed it. Everything was cooked perfectly and it had great flavor. I did think the portion size was pretty small considering the price point but this may just be because it was takeout.
