I called to ask what process they have in place in case we run out of time. At which point, the person on the other end just became upset and scold me that she doesn't know and its not her problem. That is, she's done all she can. That is not how you offer customer service. You don't (a) get upset at customer for asking for contingency plans (b) you don't say it's all you can do and (3) you don't hang up on the customer multiple times. I'm sure that in most cases there isn't anything you can do, but you run a business, there's so many ways you can answer that question.

The…read morepeople I interacted with in the Seattle office were not up to speed on what the actual requirements were for renewing my passport, and cut off the transaction before completion, and they suggested I go directly to the state department. Which I did, and it took all of 20 minutes to get my passport renewed. They were stating I needed to get additional proof of identity before they could process my renewal (I of course didn't need this; the state department was very helpful and the list of things they said to bring in the confirmation email, was exactly what they needed to renew my passport.) The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars, is that they refunded my money so all I did was waste an hour. But, poor customer service in my opinion. Just go directly to the state department (all these guys do is help you fill out the application and send along to the state department anyway). If they are going to sell this service, they should at least be able to accurately tell you what to bring when you come in.

For a nominal fee they redid my entire application and personally sent it to the Russian Embassy in DC. They told me it would likely take about 4-6 weeks to get my visa. They asked a colleague in SF to hand deliver a passport/visa once when I made a mistake with a travel date. They answered an emergency call outside of work hours to help when my ticket was canceled erroneously by the airlines. They are very professional and really know the work well, and I have been able to rely on them for my travel needs. They do have a "no nonsense style" which some people find to be not warm enough, but they are actually very nice people, and if you realize that it is but the surface (accent, tone, etc), what they can do for you is great.
