PROS Friendly staff The ticket line moves quickly to enter the building Inside bar with good list of choices Historical venue CONS Terrible seats!!! Narrow and almost no padding Chairs are crammed right next to each other (almost claustrophobic) Everyone in the row must standup or adjust legs so you can walk past I have no intention of returning due to the seat arrangements - ridicules!

Security put their hands on me when I walked out with my drink. I told them that they legally cannot touch me, but their bouncer told me he had every right to touch me.

    Show time!

Cool art deco theater to catch a concert. Street Parking was relatively easy as we got there a couple hours before the show and grabbed food at the adjoining Lounge. It worked out great because they check you in then and there so when the doors open to the show you can go straight in through the lounges back door straight into the theater. Most views were good as it isn't a huge theater. We were in row 26 which ended up being the last row and below the upper orchestra. The last 4-5 rows are at the same level, something to keep in mind because unless you are standing (we stood on our chairs as we were the back row) you will have a hard time seeing. There was a bar and some lounge seating upstairs as well as bars downstairs.

Great time seeing Rachel Maddow last night. Great venue with a full bar- although they did not have ingredients to make a Bloody Mary-shameful. I could hear and see the stage. There is food at a shop next door. I enjoyed a tasty margarita. The temperature was good and the bathrooms were clean. There was wheelchair access and places for people with disabilities to sit and enjoy the show. Get some Bloody Mary mix and I will be back soon!!

Super cool venue in the heart of Boulder, just off Pearl Street. The place is intimate enough that the seats are never too far from the stage, still there is plenty of room to feel a great energy during a concert. You have to check out their website and see what's going on as they host concerts, films, conferences and much more. There is a bar in the lobby, and plenty of restaurants in the area. Parking is not a problem with public garages nearby. And the art deco façade is impressive!

Yesterday I went to Boulder Theater and they have a new sound system in and it was amazing. The place was packed to see Yheti and everyone there from bar staff to security were working incredibly hard to give everyone a safe fun time. My drinks are always on point and I usually don't have to wait very long. I highly recommend seeing a show here!

The box office was so friendly kind and heated room to pick up tickets great for the colder night. The security workers are always very pleasant and helpful and quick all while feeling safe still. You are welcomed into a building that has seen history with beautiful architecture and the photographic evidence on the walls signed by many of the amazing artists that have come through. There isn't a bad seat in the house at all each with an excellent view. I've never had an issue getting a great drink here from the hardworking bar staff. The mens room usually has spare facilities but the urinals are a little close together for a taller man like myself this is probably due to it being an older building. This place brings in some amazing talent from all over for both music and comedy and I always look forward to going with family and friends to this rocking venue ! I highly recommend you check this place out.

We saw Brandi carlile here and it was an amazing show in an amazing theatre. Sound quality excellent. Parking was simple, restaurants everywhere for a bite.

I like that it's right off Pearl Street, so you can go out for dinner or drinks before you go to the show.

We had a preplanned excursion in/around Boulder for the wknd. Heard about this venue and checked…read moreout their concert list. Lo and behold, Tab Benoit (a terrific blues singer and guitarist) was performing Saturday night! Although it appeared sold out, we lucked into 6th row, just off center (on the aisle). At just under $70/ticket it was reasonable. Tab and his bandmates (drummer and bassist) put on a nonstop 90 minute show that really highlighted Tab's extraordinary guitar playing. He also crooned a few ballads in his signature raspy voice (though not enough in our opinion)! In terms of living/performing blues artists, Tab is among the elite. Checkout the 3 video snippets for a glimpse at his versatility. The quaint venue is amazing. At over 125 years old, t's officially listed as historic. And, despite being 50+ feet high, it is made almost entirely of red wood. That yields really warm acoustics that never harshly echo. A quick glance at the calendar and it appears there's something going on 5-6 days/week. Lots of free parking, though you might have to walk a bit, and likely uphill. They sell snacks and drinks at the venue (no bringing in your own). All purses do get checked. The concession prices are high ($6-8 for a single can of beer or a vodka-seltzer) but consistent/average for concert venues. Seats are reasonably comfortable (old movie-house-style, fold up/down, lightly padded) with a nifty cupholder on the back of the seat in front of you. Restrooms are off premises - yep, you gotta exit the auditorium and walk about 75 feet to a small structure that houses the men's/women's bathrooms. Your wrist band that you should have received upon entry, gets you back into the auditorium (don't exit without it)! Oh and maybe don't forget your ear protection - I brought some decent small ones from home and was glad I did, seeing how close we were. Upon exiting the venue it is a little dark along the various walkways to your car and your phone can light the path. Things are congested for about 15-20 minutes but it all moves slowly/surely because it's not massive like an arena or stadium. I can see why so many big names come here!

I played in wind ensembles and symphony orchestras as a youngster, but definitely fall in the category of amateur, at best. I do love a good night out at the performing arts, though. The orchestra this summer, led by Maestro Peter Oundjian, is exceptional. I can't remember a symphonic performance that was more intricately perfect in ensemble and intonation than the three I have heard this summer. That each individual performer could be put into a large group and perform as one in such an exceptional way is truly awe-inspiring. I'm going to hear the Dvorak tonight, and simply can't wait! For those who don't know, the Colorado Symphony is now fortuitous in being led by Maestro Oundjian, and under his leadership, I can only imagine that the sky is the limit! That said, there is something very special about driving into the Boulder country/mountains to this little auditorium in Chautauqua Park, with exceptional acoustics and an orchestra composed of some of the best musicians from around the country. What an absolute treat! While the Denver Center for the Performing Arts is a national treasure for us in Colorado, I promise you won't miss the traffic and parking fees of downtown Denver!

From there to Macky is a 10 minute walk in nice weather. There has not been new snow since the cleanup a couple of days ago. We had tix to the College of Music's Holiday Festival and what a joyous musical celebration it was. We had gone a few times decades ago and decided to skip it for a while. But now it's a truly inclusive holiday program with incredible student faculty talent and as well as modern technology for lighting, sound and visual screen displays. In the past it seemed a bland Christmas only music program. We had decent seats in Orchestra Right with a few short people like us and some no-shows in the row in front of us. Just lucky I guess as the place was packed and most of the shows completely sold out. The venue is beautiful and seats about 2000 in classic design and well maintained. No recordings or photos allowed during the program. There were hundreds of student in the instrumental groups as well as vocal choirs. There were two conductors splitting the performances, one a man and for us, the first time a woman conductor though she said this was her 8th year in the program. Both were excellent. The student groups too, had lots of talent, from the Jazz singers and instrumentalists to the various choir groups. The bassoon ensemble did a great performance of a collection of Nutcracker pieces backed up with choreographed videos of nutcracker drawings. There was a beautiful rendition of This Little Light of Mine by members of the University Choir with solos by a terrific tenor. There was also a reading of The Night Before Christmas and a little boy in the row in front of us fell asleep. We had left at the end before he woke up and realized it was not yet Christmas. There was a Klezmer group led by a clarinetist with untalented singers and dancers. There was also a West African Ensemble leading an uplifting piece of music with the University Choir and incredible lighting and special effects. The program ended with a traditional Handel's Messiah with audience participation for the Hallelujah Chorus. I am so glad we went and so proud of CU for having such a more matured and talented Holiday program than we had ever seen before.
