The center adds a wonderful cultural dimension to Boulder. It has a decent mix of events ranging from international movies, dance and drama, music, and a small art gallery. Their current Cultural Caravan program takes performances around the city. John Pizzarelli will be strumming some tunes this summer. read more

This theater was beautifully designed, especially with its modern exterior- the inside is very clean and also display some fun art pieces. My brother-in-law was starring in the Opera of Giovanni and so I was excited that my family and I were going to be visiting this fairly new performing arts theater. The theater where he performed was quite small. There was a main stage area, and theater seating that housed a little over 100 maximum capacity for the audience. Although small, the theater provided great sound, and because of the theater seating, wherever you sat- you had a great view. Location of restrooms and the amount for each was lacking. Every time I'd think about using the restroom, there was always a line- so I tried to avoid it as much as possible, until I couldn't hold t anymore. Be sure to eat before or at least pack a snack. This theater doesn't offer food and the only alcohol they sell is beer and wine. No full bar. Parking may be a slight challenge as there are not a lot of parking lots in the area. read more

The events that I have attended here were great! The space is very accommodating for a variety of specialty classes, dance recitals or plays. I also went to a movie here and loved the theater. They even offer a few different adult beverages and special candies. It's tucked away in the heart of Boulder and is a wonderful venue. I look forward to visiting again very soon. read more

I have been to the Dairy Center for a variety of events over the years. They have a nice theater for live performances and exhibit space for various art installations. This evening was the opening reception for the anniversary and retrospective of 50 years of the Handweavers Guild of Boulder. There was a juried show of contemporary members, some historical pieces from the collections of many longtime members and a wonderful memory wall of pictures, posters, media releases and personal notes going back to 1964. It was quite an event and the show will be open until mid January. For a former member of the Guild like myself, it was heartwarming to see mementos from my memories of those years and to reconnect with some local artists who stayed with it far longer than I was able to do. If you are unaware of the history of this building and the name, it was formerly the Watts-Hardy Dairy facility, a longtime Boulder operating milk bottling plant, still a working facility in my early years in Boulder. With the new remodel almost complete, The Dairy gives us a top notch venue that showcases a variety of art forms and talents. We've gone for cinema, comedy, theatre, music and dance and are always entertained and thankful to have such an intimate "club" available. And the gallery space is always worth a stroll thru. We've become members to show our support (and get the discount movie tix). Lately we've been attending events weekly!! Now that there's simple food and drink available I do feel like it's become our go to hangout. Parking is always tight, but with access to the business lot across Walnut we've never had a problem finding a spot. And if you get there early, you have time for a beer and the parking blues disappear. read more

Beautiful performance space and theatre, featuring galleries and event space for rental in addition to a regular performance schedule. Recently I had the opportunity to visit the DCFA for the Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company's performance of Sedaris' Santaland Diaries during the holidays. Tickets were easy to buy online and there was ample parking available. The staff running the space during the performance were all informative and friendly, plus their coffee bar featured rum coffee cocktails, beer and wine in addition to the normal soft drinks and cocoa set up. They even encouraged folks to take drinks into the theater space with them, which can't hurt an audience reception! There wasn't a bad seat in the house and I thought that the lighting and staging of the piece was quite professional considering that this is a relatively small community space in our little town. I didn't have a chance to explore the gallery space much but it seemed pretty expansive and well curated. Definitely want to return for another show at DCFA next time I'm in town! read more

Great performing arts center in the heart of Boulder. The whole building is under heavy reconstruction but all the performances are up and running and you can also get some art for your eyes hanging at the walls. I primarily go for the movies, but The Dairy has other offerings like a art exhibits and live dance performances. read more

The Dairy Center is a lovely local arts center with a surprisingly diverse network of programs going on. I was lucky enough to see "The Santaland Diaries" here a few years ago and the production was better than the version I saw at a larger venue in Denver the year before. I have also seen a number of ballets which are always a treat. In addition, the child I nanny for regularly attends classes at the Dairy Center-both ballet at the Lemon Sponge Cake ballet studio as well as piano lessons through the Parlando School for the Arts, which is located in the rear of the building. They have just recently added the Boedecker Theater as well, which hosts various films and performances. read more

We came here for our first ever reading slam last weekend. With the space being under construction, we didn't get the full vision of what is to come space wise. The event itself had plenty of comfortable seating, was a good time and seemed like it will be great for future events. read more

No complaints. A great place for musicals and a rich amount of galleries outside while you wait in line. In addition, they have a Polk Café where you can grab snacks and refreshments. I thoroughly enjoyed the musical, In the Heights, and found the quality of the lights, sound, and seats to be top notch. You'll enjoy your experience here! read more

I love going to the Dairy Center on a regular basis- they constantly update the artwork and all of the performances are great. I think it was great how they supported the Fringe Fest this year so much. New construction project on the building should keep the place current for a while to come read more

Just terrible. Dismissive and disrespectful service. Went to see a show that my friend was in, arrive 15 minutes early only to find that their tiny parking lot is full. Drove around for 10 minutes to only find parking 2 blocks away. Ran back over and was late to the show by 4 minutes. They told me "there's no late seating" and shooed me away. Thanks for a waste of time and money. If you are seeing a show there, arrive an hour early, or the better option, don't. Boulder Dinner Theater (BDT Stage) has a much friendlier, superior facility. read more

great plays..with no soundproofing. .thus, if there's a party in onw room, during a sombre play in another ..its super annoying. to the point of distraction. but go see paper cut..just make sure there's no party in the main hall. read more
