Dushanbe Teahouse is one of my all-time favorite locations for breakfast (and lunch). I am so sad I moved and won't be able to go as often. The food is delicious and the staff are amazing, not to mention the refillable house chai that is insanely delicious. The inside of the building is as beautiful and intricate as the outside; every time I'm inside I see a new detail that I have yet to notice. My favorite meal at the tea house is the Indian Dosa. If you are eating breakfast, TRY IT. The mango chutney is delicious and all the flavors in the whole dish are perfectly balanced. I wish they could mail one to me. Pretty much everything on the menu that I've tried is great, but that is my hands down favorite - no contest. I have to give a major compliment to our server, Sarah, the last time we came in a few weeks ago. We sat down and ordered and she was super nice, but before she knew it we were bombarding her with questions about the recipes. My boyfriend was allergic to something in his meal and so we needed to pick it apart because we're trying to figure out his allergy. She went back an forth talking to the kitchen for us and helping us figure out where the problem was. She was so gracious and patient and for that, Sarah, I thank you so much! On top of that she was also an excellent server, very attentive. If you are in town for a few days or have never been to the Teahouse, i highly recommend eating here or just stopping by to look at it and learn about the history. It's great for everyone and there's even a place to sit where you take your shoes off! (kids would love that I bet.) The porch is beautiful and certain parts of the year it is smack dab in the middle of the farmer's market - yet another plus! read more

It was a very nice atmosphere, and the service was good. Of course being a teahouse. Lots to choose from very Zen on a Thursday afternoon. I wish they had more entrée choices though. read more

The food and the tea are always great! And there's nothing like the ambience. It's crowded for dinner, so there might be a wait. But once you get seated, it's a pleasant experience. read more

Ordered herbal tea- romantic garden, oolong tea and Thai shrimp pancakes. Everything was amazing! The experience was great. This tea house is very close to university of Colorado boulder. The area is just beautiful. If you order a day in advance, you can book their high-tea platter with tea. It looked amazing. Hopefully next time we will remember to book a table in advance. A definite must visit in Boulder/Denver. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my outdoor table and delicious, well presented entrees. I will be back to try more tea. Iconic building and great location. I'll be back read more

Was this a dream? A warm autumn afternoon, I crossed the sun-dappled street on my way towards the promise of a pot of tea, and found so much more. It was lunch at the Dushanbe Teahouse. I stopped in in mid afternoon and was so enchanted by the beauty of the teahouse. Lush and inviting, I feel transported, as though I had entered into a secret oasis. I was in Boulder for a work trip and feeling a little stressed, but as I enjoyed the tea, the food, and the atmosphere, everything melted away. The tea and food were excellent, the staff were friendly, happy to discuss all their menu items and just the right amount of attentive. I took home a couple tins of tea to enjoy at home, and to try a bring a sliver of the magic of the Dunshanbe Teahouse home with me. Every time I brew a pot at home, I'm taken back to the memory of a golden afternoon, full of peace and contentment. read more

This place is so wonderful. First of all, it's beautiful! Love the atmosphere and aesthetic. The teas are so fun and delicious. Love that we could buy some to take home too! We started with some small plates, got full and still ordered dinner. We couldn't help ourselves! The food didn't disappoint. It was well worth the full bellies and the carry out boxes. Staff wears masks and they're constantly disinfecting. Nice spread out tables too! read more

What a gem! This place is unlike anything you have ever seen on this continent. This building was constructed in their sister city Tajikistan and then shipped to Boulder and put back together for our viewing pleasure. I seriously spent the major part of my time here staring at every nook of this place. Oh and the food is great as well! read more

This was my second visit to Dushanbe Teahouse. My first visit would have received 5 stars, but this time was sadly more of a 3 so I'll settle somewhere in the middle. The first time I visited it was presented so nicely, the olive oil poured tableside and just a really nice presentation. The first time I visited was in the summertime. I sat outside and was blown away by the Persian Chickpea Kufteh. The bread they offer is also outstanding. My husband had the Peruvian Chicken served with yucca fries and absolutely loved it. This visit, we ordered drinks, both of which were quite good. I enjoyed the mulled wine and my husband raved about his cocktail, whose name escapes me. For dinner, we shared the Spicy Indonesian Peanut Noodles and the Korean Pan Fried noodles, both with tofu. The Spicy Indonesian Peanut Noodles were pretty disappointing and lacking in flavor. There was a spice to them, but that was about all the flavor I got and I was quickly bored of eating them. It tasted as though the sauce had no layers of flavor because it was not given time to develop. The Korean Pan Fried noodles were much better, but again lacking depth of flavor. The Dushanbe Tea House is really a must because it is so beautiful inside and out and their selection of teas is outstanding, but I would recommend staying away from the noodle dishes, as our first and second experiences were of such vastly different qualities. read more

I love the afternoon tea service, which requires a reservation and credit card, but is totally worth it. Give the chef your wackiest allergies (in advance) and you'll receive a tower of treats. I went in for a vegan gluten-free menu and didn't expect much. I was delighted with gluten-free scones, asian wraps and more. It's the perfect long lunch with an old friend. read more

Lovely. We sat outside next to the river with a calm and easy afternoon visit. The inside is gorgeous. Although with a fussy baby the outside was nice too. read more

Loved this place. + Absolutely beautiful, inside and out. It was brought over from Tajikistan and re-assembled! + Lots of tea selections as well as tea cocktails. + Delicious tea. + Lovely patio area and gorgeous garden. + Great food menu (that represented a large number of ethnic cuisines!) that I sadly did not get to try as we had dinner plans in Denver. + Friendly staff. + Awesome farmer's market right outside (I was there on a Wednesday). read more

You should visit this place even if you are not a tea person at least for its interiors. I am not a tea person but figured it would blasphemy to go to a tea house and not try one of the many extensive options available. Tea : Golden snail - balanced, mellow, honestly enjoyed it. Entree: Persian chickpea kuffteh with salmon - fresh, filling and flavorful. Comes with a tomato sauce not weighed down by oils or creams and crisp croquettes that pair well with the sauce. I gave this a place a 4 rather than a 5 because I couldn't find a dish that I could call Tajik. And there were no teas from Tajikistan either. An advice I would throw in is to make sure with the host that you get seated indoors to immerse yourself in the ambiance as there's outdoor seating in cream tents that wouldn't justify your experience. read more

What a fun spot!! After touring Celestial Seasonings, we decided it was time for some (more) tea, and this Boulder tea house was highly recommended. We walked in and were very impressed by the building and the paintings and the overall atmosphere! The staff is HIGHLY impressive. They are some of the most knowledgeable staff I've had the pleasure of interacting with. Our waiter knew the menu and the tea inside out. We didn't get any food but our favorite two teas were the Iced Chai (!!!!) and the Huckleberry! Definitely a spot worth checking out! read more

The Teahouse is amazing looking, and service is always very good, if not great, but the last 3 times I ate breakfast there I was disappointed with cold food or undercooked eggs. Outstanding tea though, just think the kitchen needs to return to 2020 & 2021 standards. read more

Wow what a gorgeous place to see a beautiful structure, grab excellent chai for only $4 and free refills. Great people watching, cuisine waifs amazing aromas and service is impeccable. Even high tea is available although we stopped to check it out, weren't hungry but enjoying the atmosphere. Very busy even on a holiday with a wide variety of ages and diverse diners. Definitely will come back on my next visit to Boulder for a meal or high tea. Worth the walk, park at the library and stroll over to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. On our way to Pearl Street to enjoy Trident used book store, Rebecca's Apothecary and more. Highly recommended read more

Amazing food and atmosphere! Andrew is phenomenal - great service and truly represents the Pamiri/Tajik spirit! My family is from Tajikistan and he is extremely well-versed in the history of the Teahouse. Great sense of humor, genuine, and made our time here very memorable! read more

This place is truly a piece of artwork. Our timing was a little off and we got their around 5:00 but we had eaten a late lunch so we decided to only have tea. I was afraid the staff would be upset but they treated us just like we were spending a ton of money. I decided on an iced tea since they do not have air conditioning and it was rather warm inside. A friend had the Vietnamese iced coffee and they were both wonderful. I hope to dine there on my next trip to Boulder. read more

I've been here a few times for tea, but tonight was the first time I've had dinner at the teahouse. We sat outdoors (although we struggled with the decision because the inside is so beautiful), right next to the creek. We had a very enthusiastic waitress. We ordered a few of the appetizers and the Mediterranean salad. The food was delicious & we ended up ordering the perfect amount. I'd definitely recommend this place as a good one to take visitors to Boulder to since it's more than just dining, it's an experience! read more

The Boulder Teahouse is great for first-time visitors because you get to appreciate the beauty of the building - oh all the pictures you will take. After that first visit though, it's easy to see that this place lacks good service and quality food. Every single time we come here it takes at least 15 minutes for a single person to come up to our table to greet us and offer us water. Most of the time, this person isn't even our actual server. Then we wait AGAIN for the server to finally show up at our table to greet us and take our order. The best way to describe the workers here is simply the word, "blah". They don't care about presenting themselves in a good way at all. The tea is decent, do yourself a favor and just don't order any food - it's terrible. The building is neat, but not worth the money when the service and people are just THAT bad. read more

I love this place! The building is gorgeous and the food is really good. The selection of tea can't be beat and the wait staff are usually pretty awesome too! read more

Wow, unbelievable! We went during the week to try a new restaurant we haven't been to yet and it sure did not disappoint! My husband at the corner and I got the picaya - It was fantastic, but the picaya was off the charts! We both cannot stop talking about it! If you are a seafood person, definitely order this. The chai tea is made in-house and was splendid with oat milk. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and I cannot wait to go back, especially for afternoon tea! read more

The food was the BEST food I have ever tasted. For a children's meal I would recommend the chicken and cheese quesadilla and for a adult meal I would recommend the raclette. For a drink I would recommend the cucumber lemonade. The food took a while to come, but it was worth the wait.I was expecting for the food to come earlier than it did.The ceiling painting was gorgeous and it probably took 50 years for it all to be finished.Their service took a while. read more

What an amazing experience! I took my nephew on a college road trip along with my sister-in-law to see the University of Colorado in Boulder. We found the Dushanbe Teahouse online and we almost didn't go because my sister-in-law is not as adventurous with food as I am. The setting was gorgeous, the food was delicious, the tea was perfect, and the history was interesting. This isn't like anything else I have experienced and we had so much fun. Thank you! read more

I did enjoy the time I spent here but would I come back...probably not. It was really pretty and I love how they really try to include different dishes from other cultures, but I'm not sure if that was the best idea. I was curious to try the two dishes from my own culture but they were not close to what I have, but treating it as it's own dish they were ok. I just really think that the dishes lack flavor. The appetizers we got genuinely felt and tasted like they had just been reheated, and I'm not claiming that the food here isn't fresh, but they didn't taste like they were. The chai was also lacking flavor as well, it just tasted watered down. If you're in the area and curious, the place is pretty, however was disappointed after having high expectations. read more

We had a great seating and atmosphereos great. The service was good as they asked us how the food was and all the servers were nice and polite. They are known for their teas. We prefer to eat their appetizers instead of entrees. Their lamb dish was very chewy. read more

If you find yourself in Boulder Colorado stop into this fun Teahouse. Most of the decor was shipped from Tajikistan (Central Asia), they have really unique floor seating at some of the tables. There's a tea master on staff that can pair tea flavors with whatever you choose from their diverse cuisine. They host tea parties, they have catering services, it's all around entertaining. The artwork alone in this place is worth the visit. Great place to take a large group or visit for celebratory reasons. read more

Great place for afternoon tea, lunch or dinner. The food is nice and the environment is amazing.

Amazing Tea and even more amazing service! Our British server with the red hair was incredibly sweet. We will definitely come back!

Cute little place. Very busy so recommend making reservations if you can. We did a walkin with a 45 minute wait. Sitting inside, you're surrounded with beautiful tile-like art. Sitting outside, you're surround by beautiful flowers/ roses. Food was good, flavorful, but nothing memorable. read more

Good tea and tasty food. Interesting ambience. Service leaves room for improvement, with several tables that arrived after us getting served well before us. Waiter somewhat amusingly needed help figuring out the payment. To be expected from a hipster tea house in Boulder, efficiency isn't exactly the primary focus. But if you are willing to wait a couple hours for your tea or Char Siu Bao appetizer to arrive, you'll at least have an interesting experience and potentially a laugh. read more

Interesting place for lunch or tea. This tea house is a fun stop to make if you are visiting Boulder. The mosaic tiled walls and indoor garden/ fountain make the place different than anywhere else I've ever been. They have an expansive tea menu which is what they are known for. The servers are knowledgeable about the teas and make sure you know how long to steep your specific tea. You can get individual pots of black, green, white, oolong, etc. They also have mixed tea drinks and tea based cocktails. Any of the teas can also be purchased to be taken away. I went for lunch, and there is a very interesting menu. The main dishes are from all over the world. Our table ordered from Tajikistan, Korea, China, and Thailand. I ordered Korean Bulgogi which came with a spicy peanut sauce and sesame noodles. I expected the chopped meat that is traditionally marinated in a sweet-ish sauce. This dish was sliced pieces of beef that were fairly bland. They were served in lettuce wraps, which was good and had lots of veggies. While this meal was fairly good it was not at all what I expected. I would recommend asking how the dishes are prepared because all of the people in our party got something unexpected. While I would give the good a 3/5, the tea menu and atmosphere would make my review of this place a 4/5. I would say this is a fun experience with pretty good food. I would go back if I ever turned up in Boulder again. read more

We loved this place! Amazing variety of tea, beautiful garden and decor, great service, and the house chai (HOT) is excellent. We sat at the bar and each ordered a tea to try. Each tea came in its own small tea pot, which served two cups and stayed at a nice temperature. I had never had chai, but my husband read it was a specialty of theirs, so we tried it. He ordered it first (cold), so I could taste. I was hooked and ordered my own but hot. Mmmm. Sooo gooood! It even came with a free second serving - awesome! He got his second one hot as well. They have plenty of small plates and food options as well. He ordered a Cuban sandwich, which he enjoyed. Definitely recommend this place! read more

Our group planned to go here between checking out and the airport- we had plenty of time and am very happy it worked out, knowing there'd be no reservations. This was a must do during our trip! The food and tea were amazing, the serving staff was friendly, but the two hostesses at the front were rude and not helpful nor pleasant. Very surprising since everyone in the area is SO nice! If we didn't plan to visit this Teahouse for the tea and ambiance all the way from Virginia, we would have left due to the hostesses. If you can get by them, it's all good! good luck! read more
