[[HIGHLIGHT]]I dropped by on a Friday mid-morning and it was very busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved all the plants and decor to make the shop welcoming and bright.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating was fairly limited or at least all tables were occupied and ended up just taking my treats to-go rather than working from the shop as I planned.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff were relatively friendly and speed of service was average. I had an iced 16 oz vanilla latte ($6) and a bacon breakfast burrito ($10.5). Found it to be on the more expensive side for value received. Everything was good but I would order lite ice next time as it's a pretty expensive latte half displaced by ice otherwise. read more

Cute spot to grab really good coffee. I got a plain drip coffee but could tell it was really good and high quality, also grabbed a bag of beans. Food and drinks come fast. The barista was super kind and shared samples of both the dirty horchata and banana stand to help me decide on a drink, and they both were delicious! I went for the banana stand, loved the subtle chocolate banana flavor, the cinnamon also contrasted really well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's ample parking outside, and inside, they make the most of the art deco-designed space (curved glass block, railing) with plants throughout and at every table creating a homey atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But while I get that coffee shops tend to signal a message--especially in Boulder--sometimes people just want coffee to be...coffee. The menu is good, I like that they have both pastries and actual meals for breakfast! The breakfast burrito was pretty good, and my sister loved her ham croissant. I got an iced triple shot latte with whole milk and wasn't super happy with it, for some reason it tasted sour. I gave it to my sister and got a cold brew and that was really good! It was diluted but it still had great flavor. The ricotta toast was interesting. When I was at this shop getting me a doppio and a pastry, I had to stand in line that extended to the stairs to the left of the shop. And I had to wait to get my drink/food for about 10 minutes. Located in the heart of Boulder and has a parking lot. We love that. Was in town for the afternoon for an event so stopped by here prior to the event, to get some work done with my iced dirty chai latte with light ice, that is. Barista was very helpful with helping me choose what to get because your girl is caffeine sensitive to the extreme, so tea was the best choice at the time. She was also open to making my drink sweeter if need be, but it was perfect. There is plenty of seating, but it fills up fast. Outlets are available for use, but are limited. Can't wait to try all of the other delicious items on the menu when in town again. read more

This one felt flat for me. The chai wasn't to my taste, the almond croissant I got only had almonds on top and no the paste inside, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the space was just ok.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I know this is a hopping spot, but there needs to be some place to wait on a busy day for your coffee and in this stop you always feel like you're in the way. A super cute, chill coffee shop with its unique personality. The second floor seating is very cozy and secluded, where you can enjoy a book or doing work with the view of little hanging house plants. I got the Oat Nog Latte and breakfast burrito. Both very delicious and fitting for the season. The burrito is not too cheesy and served hot. The latte was smooth and light. This place can get a little crowded so just watch out when you want to grab something quick. read more

Such a cute coffee shop in Boulder. Love how spacious it is with an upstairs level for more seating. Also located in a strip mall so plenty of parking. I loved their drink menu and decided to try the hojicha latte. It was super good. They also don't charge extra for alternative milk which is nice. I also got the basic breakfast sandwich. I thought it was a bit too sweet and the plate was too small but overall was a good sandwich. This is definitely a popular spot and gets busy but I highly recommend trying this place out. read more

I tried their house special chai tea, it was ok, not too strong and nothing special about it. It's pretty busy even on a Tuesday afternoon. There are very few tables on the ground floor and the top floor is full of single customers hogging an entire table for 2-4 parties working on their laptop. Service was great and the coffee was delicious. Lots of variety of coffees teas and specials to choose from. I got a one and one and it came on a cute little board with an oil spill colored spoon. They have water to offer there both still and sparking and my selection came with sparkling water which I love! The coffee here is phenomenal with a really unique flavor profile--they use onyx for their house blend which is amazing. In turn, you can't give them much credit since they're using someone else's roast. But hey, it's accessible. January has become our Saturday morning breakfast tradition. They serve the kind of interesting coffee you'd expect from a pretentious coffee shop, but there's nothing pretentious about them. The staff are friendly and the vibe is welcoming and playful. They serve great food and have options for whatever your dietary restrictions are. This morning they accidentally overcharged me for an extra food item. I didn't notice, but the staff member who served our food did. Their season drink "Banana Stand" is absolutely delicious. It's a cold brew and the flavor is very smooth, not too sweet with the banana and not too bitter with the cold brew. I definitely recommend everyone trying this one before they stop serving it. read more

Customer service carries a heavy weight on one's experience, or at least it should, and that's the first aspect January Coffee seemed to excel at in my initial experience. I was warmly greeted and warmly treated, a complete stranger but felt right at home. Before I even trusted their coffee, I felt the desire to return. I always appreciate seeing a One & One on the menu, so I ordered it. The macchiato was well-balanced, and the espresso was just as smooth as I remembered last time I had Onyx Coffee in Arkansas. January rotates their roasts, but Onyx is a constant for them which is a big green flag for me. The One & One also features seltzer as the perfect pallet cleanser. The WiFi is decent, not blazing, but not super slow. It's not exactly a place to work for long-term, as it kicks you off every hour, and the process to join the network is fairly slow. They also ask you limit your stay to two hours, allowing for better guest flow, which is respectable. As a unique component, they have "No WiFi Weekends", encouraging people to come to engage rather than digitally disappear. I do like that. The space is very pleasant. It's two stories, but the top floor is a loft of sorts, with open space to the first floor. Windows flood the entire place with light and a northwestern view of the mountains lining Boulder. There are ample plants, REAL plants, with some hanging, some sitting, and all seem happy. There's art on the walls, some hanging, some literally painted with murals. It's a great space, with lovely employees, and the audacity to share what it takes to run a small business in a competitive town. I gladly support that. It's not my choice to spend long visits, but it is an easy answer to suggest to any friend wanting to meet for coffee. Oh, and it's walking distance to my day job. You can't beat this locally-owned coffee shop: the friendliest and most helpful baristas, authentically tasteful caffeine buzz, and hip atmosphere! My friend had a Matcha and I enjoyed my Chai Latte. I have been trying out different coffee shops around Boulder, Denver and everywhere in between for a while. This is my favorite. Literally every single item on the menu looks delicious, and everything I've tried has been. They have the staples you would expect along with delightful surprises. The horchata cold brew was amazing. The vegan breakfast burrito is a huge upgrade from vegan fare I've gotten at any other coffee shop - delish!
