For whatever reason, every time I've been to Boulder I have ended up at this coffee shop. Also, I'm happy about that. They have it all. Huge space, high ceilings, really open space, relaxing atmosphere. Plenty of seating indoors, and a decent amount out front on the sidewalk. Polished, fancy aesthetic, robust menu of all the things you could ask for in a coffee shop. (Get the affogato). Professional baristas doing high level stuff behind the counter with the foam and who are handing off delicious drinks for you and all your friends, family, acquaintances and many strangers to enjoy. You'll love it. Super tidy, excellent execution from the baristas, and a complete menu filled with all your coffee related dreams and plenty of bites to eat. This is another past hang out for me when living in Boulder years ago. It was strange walking in today. Another business seemed to have merged with Amante. It was like walking into a bank lobby. I like the extra open space but it seemed a bit too much. There is always something lacking when an establishment has too much space. I love it when businesses make good use of their space. What I enjoyed the most about my visit today was the low number of patrons frequenting it and the noise level was low. I ordered a cappuccino "for here" and picked a spot to sit next to the main windows. I love the natural light that flows into this place. There is a nice outdoor seating area as well. The Amante Coffee umbrellas give it a nice European flair. Cappuccino was outstanding! I didn't need to put any sweetener in it. It was that good! Again, I love when a place serves their coffee in a ceramic coffee cup. This one came with a saucer, Amante branding as well. They had a nice genre of music playing and the volume wasn't turned up that high. It was set at a nice reasonable level. Staff is friendly here. The man taking my order was helpful. He offered some good choices based on my preferences. I like that he was personable and didn't just offer terse responses to my questions. I also asked about some pastries lying on the counter. They looked familiar. This same man took the time to explain the pastry's origin and the ingredients. Kudos for the great customer service offered to me. Overall, this was a pleasant visit for me. I'm glad that I decided to return here. Again, outstanding cappuccino. I may stop here again before I leave Boulder today. read more

This shop is shared next to other businesses in the building. You can even see inside the office space of one of the businesses that faces the inside glass wall. They have limited food choices, but if all you want to do is get some computer work done in a quiet environment with decent coffee, I recommend this place. However, there are plenty of other coffee shops within walking distance that I recommend more for food or ambience. read more

Really friendly, excellent service here, great drinks and they had several gluten free snack cakes (pre-packaged, but still!) on offer which made me happy!! Do note that the Walnut Street location does not have a liquor license. So if you're coming in to enjoy one of those yummy shots you've heard about, head to the Baseline location instead. I enjoyed the spicy Bhakti Chai with a gluten free cinnamon spice cake, and hubs indulged in a mocha. Both really great. There was lots of seating, and it looked like they had removed a bunch of tables to spread things out more for COVID. This maybe made things feel a bit less "comfy-cozy" inside than I prefer for a coffee shop, but overall we were happy spending a couple of hours here working and sipping. Wouldn't hesitate to come back, especially because of the super kind folks who work there. Pay them a visit and tip them well! read more

Stopped by needing a caffeine fix after hiking nearby - this coffee shop is in a pretty ideal area just off of Baseline Road with plenty of parking options, something I'm always wary of in Boulder. Though the place is relatively small compared to other coffee shops I frequent, the coffee was good and they have a nice selection of bites as well. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you have a large party but it does seem quiet and ideal to get some work done in (at least in the morning). Staff was friendly! read more

The "Shotinos" alone earn this place five stars. During happy hour they are only $3 a pop. A shot of amaretto topped with a shot of espresso topped with heavy cream in a tiny shot glass you sip through a straw. Amazing!!!! The textures and layers one after the other leave a warmth of wonder in your mouth as it travels down your throat, caffeine pumping through your blood stream wiring you for the afternoon while the amaretto mellows you out and warms your gut. So so worth it. I dream about the Shotinos! The service is good. The prices are reasonable. The ambiance is like any other coffee shop. Street parking. They were patient with me and willing to help me out in my cluelessness. Besides that, the drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was friendly and fun. Awful experience! I love the location in North Boulder but I will never step into the Walnut St location ever again. My partner and I were walking the dogs along the Boulder Creek and made our way over to Amante for a chai. There was a large dog chained inside the patio. Our dogs get along with all dogs. This dog came at them aggressively trying to bite them. In the way that just strikes fear in your core. Some young guy inside comes flying out the door and yelling at us! Blaming us! We go inside to ask a manager if they think it was appropriate to have an aggressive dog on the patio where small children could be hurt. The dog's owner starting snipping at us in front of customers. The staff and manager didn't care. Turns out the guy with the dog worked there! The staff was belligerent and confrontational. Overly protective of him. I have bought hundreds of coffees and quite a few burritos at the Broadway location and have always had fantastic service. Will never go to Walnut again. I personally wouldn't go to Amante to sit & read or do work because it's too small and they often have a sports game/television playing something (yes, I own headphones...just not a fan of the overall vibe enough to sit for a while). But I still really like Amante. A long time ago someone brought me here for their shottino, which is espresso, liquer, and cream in a double shot glass. It's a fun drink to grab with friends & is included in their happy hour on a certain day (can't remember which weekday is it). The baristas are always extremely nice here--never had a negative experience there. Good coffee & espresso and not AS crowded as other coffee shops in Boulder in the mornings because it's tucked back on Walnut street which is always less busy than Pearl. read more

I used to work in the now defunct (I think) and very short-lived Subway next to the location in north Boulder. As such, I spent a good chunk of college time believing that Amante was the best there is (and I drank TONS of coffee). The espresso is extremely smooth and the baristas are well-trained and amazing at what they do. In conjunction with our farmers market trip last weekend, I made a point to stop in to the Walnut Amante and get a little taste of college. It's pretty expensive - even as far as espresso drinks go - with a small latte setting me back $4, pre-tip. But it's still really good....I didn't finish mine since I'm settling comfortably into a once a week coffee habit, but it was well worth the one coffee a week indulgence. The space is very hip (in a European way as opposed to a fixed gear bike sort of way)....I always dug the one on north Broadway for the pro-cycling meets pro-soccer atmosphere (not that I'm into either, but it's a refreshing change of pace from the typical coffee shop clientele), but the much smaller Walnut location works in a pinch. The staff was friendly and not snooty...worth pointing out since I find these to be rare qualities in Denver baristas. read more

Stopped in here after dinner to get some gelato, had the Honey Peanut Butter and a Costa Rican Vanilla (which was also good, but the honey pb is above and beyond). Attractive counter man dressed in a a vest and slacks added a nice Euro feel. The coffee is so authentic, it reminds me of being in Europe, down to the giant espresso machine and soccer on the tele! The coffee is great, and some interesting varieties, not your standard fare and *don't* ask for a 2-pump vanilla double blended mocha - just get an americano, espresso, or maybe a lattee - keep it simple to focus on the coffee, not the fillers. Also, their gelato is great! Get a sample and then pick one you like. Lots of power ports and I assume wi-fi, because there were 5 mac's there surfing away. Amante Coffee on Walnut is the soccer aficionado of coffee shops. They play the most important matches much to the joy of the soccer (or should I say futbol) fans that gather there to watch. Beyond that I really like this coffee shop - it's open and bright, they have good Italian coffee, delicious treats (including gelato and gluten-free options) and most importantly free wi-fi. They even serve beer and wine - it's like there isn't anything this place doesn't offer you. read more

Oh, it's fine. I like the staff there. Amante coffee isn't bad, either. Their prices are ok. If your wife is getting her hair cut at the salon next door, you should drop in. That was my mindset when I sent, anyway, and I wasn't disappointed. They even let me take my espresso to the salon with me. How nice. EVERYONE there who had a screen in front of them had a little fruity logo on the back of it, and they ALL had a screen in front of them. I couldn't resist. She laughed and said "Yeah, Apple and European football clubs," gesturing to the soccer match on the big screen. So go there. Take your MacBook. Have a coffee. And watch Football. I prefer the NoBo location, as it's much roomier. Closer to home for me, too, but out of the way for most, I guess. Forget the burnt coffee at Starbucks, this place is the real deal. I live about 20 minutes away from this location, but I find an excuse to drop in every few weeks. A real hole-in-the-wall look like you see on the side streets in Europe. The cafe au lait is my thing. They have have euro-style pastries as well as locally made gelato from Glacier. They also seem to have a liquor license as the last time I was in they had a few bottles to make coffee cocktails and some Italian beers on tap. The baristas are efficient and personable. And they have WiFi. Amante is a chain local to Colorado with just 3 stores including a shop in Steamboat. Go there: support local businesses. read more

Definitely a different kind of coffeeshop. There's a certain stylishness that pervades Amante. Not stuffy or anything negative like that - just a little less cozy than I'm used to. That said, it's got some great flava. So much flava. You can get coffee, of course, but there's also gelato and Italian sodas on the menu. I work in Boulder and my girlfriend came up to work in a coffee shop (this one) for the day from Denver. I came and met her here so we could hang for a little bit, and it's a pretty cool spot. The atmosphere is good. There seems to be a lot of locals that come in and know the staff, which I think is fun to be around. It's not too loud, you can get work done if you need to. The wifi is fast even with a lot of people on laptops in the place. The only criticism I have is that I ordered a black coffee and it came in a pint glass. I'm not a fan of coffee in glass even when the glass has a handle, but this was just stupid, I could barely hold it by the time I got back to my table because it was so hot. I know they have coffee cups because that's what they served their lattes and whatever else people get at coffee shops in. Other than that the place is solid, and the coffee isn't bad. read more
