After hitting an icy patch of untreated road, I had to take my car to Boulder Bump Shop; they were referred to me by a coworker. I had a great experience during the repair process. It was a very busy time for them and they started working on my car immediately while keeping me updated on the progress. Due to the complicated repairs, they missed their completion date, but immediately arranged a new rental car for me. The car looked like it did before the accident and the process was so easy. Recently, I had a small issue since getting the car back and Boulder Bump Shop immediately fixed it. called and asked if i needed an appointment for an estimate. they said no, just come on in any time before 5. i show up and they say they can't make quotes after 4 (even though it was 3:50!!!). they say i can make an appointment for the next day, and turn me away. why didn't you just ask me to make an appointment when i called you asking about appointments. why does your website say "just come on in" instead of "you need to make an appointment ahead of time." what a waste of time!!! bleh. read more

These guys were great! Luke from BBS drove to my mechanic's shop to give me a quote on my body work. This was so helpful because I didn't want to give the mechanic a green light for their work until I knew if the body work would be affordable. BBS came through with a tight quote, I had the mechanic do their work, and then delivered the car to BBS. BBS did quality work at a good price and within my parameters "it's an old car, please just put it together... I don't need anything fancy." Boulder Bump Shop did an excellent job replacing my front bumper, which got smashed in by someone who didn't leave a note on my car - so I was stuck paying for most of the repair due to my insurance deductible and some other uncovered costs. I chose BBS based on good Yelp reviews even though they weren't on list of "preferred" vendors for my insurance company. The companies that were on the list had a lot of bad reviews and I wasn't impressed with them during in person estimates either. Boulder Bump Shop's estimator was professional and gave clear explanation of options for the repair. The new bumper looks great and the color match is perfect. When I dropped off the car, they had someone available to give me a ride into town right away. They did a nice general cleaning of the car too, so it looked really nice when I picked it up. They arranged a rental car promptly at the shop, ready to go when I brought my car in. During the process, a part wasn't available as they originally thought but they still got my car back to me on time and brought me in next week & paid to put me in a rental to get the part installed quickly. This auto body shop was recommended by our car dealership. We had a lot of confidence in them so we decided to go with them. We dropped off our car and picked up a rental arranged by the opposing insurance company, which was waiting at the on-site car rental agency. The rental was filthy and smoky but we suffered through a week of driving it. When we were told our car was ready for pickup, we anxiously drove to pick it up, only to find that a large part of the promised work had not been completed, which was only discovered after we had to demand the car be washed for inspection because it had been sitting outside and was filthy. After inspecting it and discovering the half-finished job, we demanded a clean rental car and for the rest of the work they had promised to do, be done. So after nearly another week, we were told it was ready and returned to the shop and inspected it. We thought it looked good and took it home, only to discover in the lower light of our garage that a section of paint was botched and there was a dent we hadn't seen before. So, back to the shop again where the receptionist was rude as if we were expecting to have them do more work than the insurance would cover, even though I told her I only wanted the original work to be done right. The car was inspected and we were told it definitely needed to be fixed and he thought it was the clear coat and could be buffed out. So again, we had to be without the car for another few days (didn't ask for a rental again because the second one wasn't much better than the first). The next day we received a call telling us it was discovered that the body work had been botched, not the paint. So a few days later when we returned to pick it up when it was done, at first sight, it looked good. The paint looked good and the dent was removed, but I was unhappy to see scuff marks in several places on the rubber/vinyl bumper that were not previously there. The gal who was talking with us about it said it probably wasn't scratches and would wipe off. She was the receptionist who earlier had been rude but now she was doing everything she could to try and make us happy (too little, too late). She wiped it down and it did look better but obviously someone caused those scuff marks and she only hid them with whatever she wiped it with. She wanted to know if we were satisfied and I said definitely not but I wasn't allowing them to touch my car again. She insisted that she wanted us to be satisfied and I told her if they couldn't get it right in three tries, they didn't seem to be able to do a quality job at all. The work took a week longer than we were quoted. No big deal, it happens. We get the car back and my wife tells me it is making a bit of a funny noise and pulling slightly to the side. I take a look and she is missing two lugnuts and the other three are almost off the lugs. So they took the tire off and forgot to tighten the lugnuts up again. If she had taken it on the highway the tire would have fallen off. Zero response so far from Boulder Bump Shop, so I am just trying to get to word out to make sure and double check the work you get done, or better yet, go to a place that won't endanger your life. read more

Unfortunately I have had to use this shop on more than one occasion. I have always received EXCELLENT customer service, usually from Jake but another time from Roger. They are willing to work with you on fixing your car within your budget and they really do great work. The last time I was in an accident Jake found a used replacement door which matched my Jetta and was able to fix everything at a fraction of what it would have cost me elsewhere. When I had a minor issue with the overhead light not turning off they fine tuned the repair immediately the next day and I was on my way. Honesty is important to me and the Bump Shop is a no BS kind of place. Jake will give you an honest estimate and has even added on little extras like free touch ups, waxing etc. to sweeten the deal more than once for me. I guess it's obvious that I'm a loyal customer, although I hope to not need their services anytime soon. I wouldn't hesitate to send my family and friends to these guys every time. I found Boulder Bump Shop in the yellow pages, looking to repair minor damage to my vehicle. I stopped in, talked to Roger (I assume the manager) and dropped off my car. I came in the next day and was soon on my way with a fully-repaired car. Roger was so helpful; he took the time to assess the repair and have his guys fix the damage, free of charge. I crumpled my rear bumper after backing into a post. I was told by Boulder Bump Shop and two others that hidden damage to the backup camera was common, and it might cost me an additional $300. I was over a barrel. I had no way of knowing if there was hidden damage or not. Although Boulder Bump Shop could have charged me for an extra unneeded repair, and I would never have known the difference. I was charged only for the basic repair of the bumper. This is by far the worst experience I could've ever had getting my car repaired by a shop, Starting with the fact that my estimate on time to repair my vehicle was a week, and ended up being almost a month; after having my date pushed back 4 times, with excuses ranging from "We forgot to order parts for your vehicle" to "Our computer systems crashed" and was also told my car was being delayed because they had "a lot of cars with hail damage come in" even though I had brought my car in 2 weeks before any of those cars. And to top it all off, When my vehicle was FINALLY finished, and I came in to pay my bill, I was over-charged almost $500 over what the listed amount of repairs done and amount due. All in all, if you are looking to get your car fixed in a timely manner and expect it to be done relatively close to the estimated date, and don't want to be unreasonably overcharged, I would steer clear of the Boulder Bump shop! There are plenty of other shops in the area that will gladly take your service and that you will be better satisfied with. read more

I'm impressed and grateful for the quality and professionality I have experienced with the Boulder Bump Shop. I've been in and around Boulder for 25 years. No other body shop comes as highly recommended - and for good reason. Of course they're not perfect (completion of my last repair was several days late), but I think that's often the nature of the business. They are good in the communication department. Their estimate was within (10%) of the final bill. The quality of the repair is impeccable - as good or better than new. They've even done touch up and trim work for me in the past and wouldn't let me pay anything at that time. I scraped the side of my husband's new car while driving into the garage. I felt horrible about it and wanted to get it fixed ASAP. I drove down to the Boulder Bump Shop yesterday, without an appointment, and was told Luke would be right with me. Before I had even picked up a magazine, there he was. He took a look at my car, and to my surprise, told me he thought they could buff out the damage ( I had expected to pay to have the damaged area repainted). Instead of giving me an appointment to come back, he drove it right into the shop. Within 15 minutes, I was driving away- damage buffed away- all for $50. I had an accident involving the front end of my 2014 Forester. As fate would have it, I ended up with damage to the frame and nearly everyone I knew told me my car would never be the same and I should trade it in the minute it came out of the shop. 45 days later I got my car back. Everything seemed fine as I drove my car the next couple days. Three days later, I was out on the highway and my vehicle was absolutely perfect! There wasn't a single noise and not even a shimmy! I was in a car accident right before Halloween. Left my car at Boulder Bump shop for repairs. They dealt with my insurance and did all necessary repairs. The work they did on body repairs was great. But after getting my car back, the cooling fan was malfunctioning and running at all times. I took my car into the dealership for maintenance and they could not determine the cause of this malfunction. It took the dealership a week; they finally discovered that the two wires for the control module for the fan had been switched. I had told them about the recent body work and they assumed it must have been from that work done by Bump Shop. The dealership contacted the Bump Shop to see if they would pick up the bill. Boulder Bump Shop checked out the work and declined, stating that it was not in their work order, they "should not" have been anywhere near that fan, and therefore they were not responsible for payment. My car was not making this noise before the accident or before I brought it into Boulder Bump Shop. It was a very obvious and loud noise. If it had been making this noise, it should have been noted by the Bump Shop and addressed with me prior to repairs. It was not. The noise only became present after the repairs/work was done at the Bump Shop. No one else has had access to my engine other than the dealership and Boulder Bump Shop. The dealership was extremely helpful and did everything they could to help settle the situation. They even cut the original bill from $600 to $250 +tax. I approached Boulder Bump Shop seeking a compromise. I asked if they would cover half of the bill. I had just spent $4000 in repairs at their shop. I was asking for $150 as a measure of good faith. While they "should not" have been handling the cooling fan, and it was not in their work order, and I cannot prove that their hands touched my fan, they were the last people to handle my car and mistakes happen. There was extensive repair work to front bumper and side panel, and they certainly would have been in the engine compartment to remove all the pieces. I tried to resolve this issue in a friendly and fair way (splitting costs half/half). The Boulder Bump Shop again declined saying that they were in no way responsible. They supposedly guarantee their work and they were the last people to handle my car. I just spent $4000 for body repair from them and they would not pay $150 to keep a customer or fulfill a guarantee in their work. read more

About 3 weeks after getting our new car, my husband was rear-ended. We contacted the dealership for a recommendation for auto-body shops (we are on a lease so we wanted to make sure we wouldn't end up paying for a lousy job at the lease end). Boulder Bump Shop was by far the best customer service experience I've ever had. Luke was the gentleman I dealt with entirely. He explain all of the visible damage and when I asked his professional opinion on driving the car with my 6 month old child, he didn't recommend it. He also noticed there was a crack from the accident in the base of my child's car-seat. From there, he spoke with the insurance company, stated the same thing to them, and the insurance company agreed to pay for a car rental immediately. Luke then contacted the car rental company immediately and I was on my way. During the course of the three weeks that the car was getting repaired, Luke kept me up to date on what they were doing and his communications with the insurance company. He was able to help us get our car seat completely replaced. Not only did he help with that, he even had the Boulder Fire Department install it for us. Luke and his team at Boulder Bump shop were top notch. Not only do I completely trust the work they did (it has a lifetime guarantee) I would highly recommend them for any service you need for you vehicle. read more
