These guys did a terrific job for me getting my 1998 Ford Windstar all fixed up again. After an accident that messed up the front bumper, fender, and headlight, I took it to Pearl Street Auto Body, who had repaired it about six years ago. It sat there on the lot for 4 months (!) while they searched the country for replacement parts. After hearing about these guys at Carriage Shop from my insurance company, I took it here and they gave me an estimate for much less than Pearl Street, even less than the amount of the insurance check! And they found the parts they needed THE NEXT DAY! So I had my vehicle back in less than a week, looking absolutely brand-new. Mike and Jason are brothers who run the place, and they let me know what was going on every step of the way. Mike evened fabricated some fasteners to replace the old ones that Pearl Street had lost along the way. I can't say enough good things about them. Highly recommended, especially for older vehicles. These guys did an AWESOME job fixing my Volvo! I had an accident back in June, and pretty much crunched the front of my car. The nearest collision garage said they don't work on foreign cars, so they sent me over to Carriage Shop, a small garage tucked away in the very north end of Boulder. It's a no-brainer that Volvo's are VERY pricy to fix, and no way would anyone dare think to make aftermarket parts for them, so the parts have to be shipped over from Sweden. Throughout the whole process, Jason made sure to keep in touch with me every step of the way. They were very efficient about doing the job too; it's very obvious that Carriage Shop is dedicated to their business. Not only that, they wanted to help me save some money and offered to buff out some parts instead of replace them. That certainly saved me hundreds. I opted to do this, but I still decided to use my deductible to fix a few other non-related issues. This very intensive repair cost roughly $7600 total (but thank goodness I had insurance to pay for it, haha), and it was about 3 weeks before I got my car back (it took 2 weeks for 82 parts to arrive from the plant in Sweden), but I was VERY happy with the end result. They also assured me that they stand by their work, so if they made any mistakes (I haven't noticed any yet), they'll take care of it. Without hesitation, I highly recommend going to get your car fixed at the Carriage Shop, even if you don't live in Boulder! read more

It took a ton of work and patience but they went throught it piece by piece and were up front about what everything would cost and they were nothing but exceptional, friendly and completely professional with me. I've been meaning to write this review for quite some time. Our 2007 4Runner was driving down Hwy 36 two winters ago and a huge piece of snow and ice fell off of a highway sign right down onto the car. It put a sizable dent into the roof, cracked the windshield and caused some other very minor damage. We had the car assessed by our insurance company's preferred body shop, Caliber Collision. They suggested to replace the whole roof which if you know cars, is a bad idea unless it is really the only option. The problem with most body shops is that the people working there don't really understand how metal fabrication works, they just want to replace everything as part of the insurance claim. They have absolutely no interest in getting the work done in the interest of the customer (based on ethical principles). It was ungodly expensive, if I remember correctly just shy of $5000 (including also windshield etc). My wife took the car to Bill after Mountain Auto down the street (Will & Matt) recommended him. Now get this.... it took Bill less than 30 MINUTES to repair the big roof dent old school style (which is the style every body shop person should learn, but they don't especially with chain shops), and he didn't want to charge us anything for it. I have since recommended him to numerous people and hope that more people consider them before having any of the other shops do unnecessary work to cars that costs a fortune. I find it extremely odd that his business is often closed during business hours and when he makes appointments and repeatedly does not show, it is disrespectful to clients who take their time to drive there, wait 15 minutes and then drive home. read more

Easy to deal with -- they will research used parts when at all possible & you feel like they are doing their best to help the customer out. Had a chipped rear window replaced that I had decided wasn't worth fixing based on the repair price elsewhere. He tried to find a used one, but we ended up ordering a new one for 1/2 the price of anyone else in town. read more

I took my car in after a bad accident to see if it was repairable - he was very thorough with looking it over, and told us unfortunately that it would cost more to fix than it was worth. This is the nightmare of all nightmares for auto repair. They didn't EXTREMELY sloppy work at best- misaligned replacement parts, numerous paint drips, incomplete diagnosis and repair, left in interior absolutely filthy with dust (from sanding), and numerous endless headaches to try to get the correct repairs completed (which never happened at their shop). After much time and headache, I got my insurance to approve a second insurance claim to have the correct repairs done at another shop.
