I recently took my 2015 Nissan XTerra in for repairs on the rear quarter panel where I had backed into a wooden mailbox post. It was my first claim and damage to this vehicle. I told them I wanted it repaired back to brand new standards. They were very professional and took a lot of pictures and gave me an estimate on the spot and told me it would be 3 months before they could work on it. I chose them over another company with a lower bid as I preferred their level of customer service. I worked with Sandra as there were some delays in getting parts and the need to get a new part rather than try to fix the damage one. The work was completed to my satisfaction and when I picked it up I was completely amazed at not only how good the work was but how incredible the 8 year-old vehicle looked inside. They not only washed it but did the interior dashboard surface areas, upholstery, and carpet. It was so clean inside and out I hated to drive it. I just got off the phone with these people after listening to a seemingly-endless list of excuses as to why they couldn't conveniently schedule an inspection and hail-dent-removal on my car with zero-deductible comp insurance - so guaranteed payment without question, regardless of how much the charges were. Oh, their lot was just TOO overrun with vehicles to possibly accommodate mine! Having been a pro automobile and, later, certified aircraft mechanic for my whole working-life and knowing how repair shops work, that tells me they're slow as molasses and massively behind on repairs, right there, and that they obviously know that they can't do anything to improve the situation, either, or they already Would Have. They rattled-off just EVER SO MANY reasons that I'd have to schedule an appointment for an inspection, then bring it in for inspection, then take it back home, then come back after that and schedule the repair etc. (Very Complicated step), then come back again to drop it off, then back AGAIN to pick it back up, IF they ever actually got around to fixing it, that is - Yap, yap, yap. Yadda, yadda, yadda - Jeez, how TF hard can it be?? It literally was like dealing with one of those "Little Caesars" that you run into at some lame-a$$ed government bureaucracy! I got the definite impression that they're under the misguided impression that they're quite substantially more important, wonderful and indispensable than they actually are, or ever will be - by a LONG shot! I finally got fed up with what seemed to me to be their endless stream of BS and hung up and called Rogers Dent that's located almost next door to them and was done in five minutes, no problem. Easy-Peasy. No BS involved. I strongly recommend against even ATTEMPTING to deal with this company. They're just WAY too busy and self-absorbed to stoop so low as to take care of potential customer's requests. That would Never Do! Not in a million years! Not with those guys. Screw them! They made it perfectly clear that they Couldn't Possibly even Consider spending any of their precious time dealing with the apparently-immense effort required to do what I was requesting - which was: I drop my car off at their convenience, and they inspect and fix it again at their convenience, with no time-restraints or rush on my part whatsoever - but that was just TOO MUCH to ask, so I called somebody who felt confident that they could handle something so terribly difficult, and, oddly, seemed more than happy to do it, and were courteous and professional on the phone, to boot! Didn't seem like any big deal to them at all, for some unfathomable reason, when BBS had just made it sound like the Impossible Dream! I really don't see how arrogant, self-righteous, and incompetently-run companies like Boulder Bump Shop stay in business, ESPECIALLY in this town, and they'll certainly get no more calls from me in the future. It's places and people like that that give auto-body-shops such a bad rap! Just for the record, I was a potential returning-customer. They screwed up on the first job, of course, but I figured I'd give 'em another shot, anyway. Anybody can make a mistake, occasionally, right? BIG Mistake! A total and frustrating waste of time, nothing more. If these guys give you a finish-date for a repair, all I can say is good luck with it actually happening. read more

I brought my vehicle here for some minor damage to the front bumper. As the front bumper was being repainted from a scuff, I also wanted it wrapped in clear bra to protect it from rocks when I head up to the mountains. After receiving my estimate, I made an appointment for November 1st. I was originally told the repair and clear bra should take 2-3 days. The repairs ended up taking a month! Why? Well Boulder Bump Shop had the cheapest person they could find install a patchwork of clear bra on my vehicle. To top it off they had to repaint the bumper because it was damaged from the crack-pot who trimmed the clear bra on the vehicle with a razor blade. After weeks of painting and repainting the bumper because they were trying to rush vehicle to me instead of taking the time to do it right the first time... I give the shop two stars because they did give me a rental car while my vehicle was delayed, and the job appears to be done correctly this time. Only time will tell. read more

Anytime you need an auto body repair service it's not a great situation and Boulder Bump Shop went above and beyond, making the whole process more pleasant than I thought possible! It's the only body shop I'll use going forward and I have recommended it to friends and coworkers. I don't know what anybody who gives them a bad review is smokin' because they finished early and I got updates as often as I wanted (every few days) on where they were in the process. Luke literally offered to update me however often I wanted (daily, weekly, etc.) and asked how I would like to be contacted (text, phone call, email) and then updated me more than sufficiently. Luke and Hailey took care of everything with the insurance company so that I wouldn't have to talk to them or pay anything other than my deductible. When I needed a rental for a long weekend they arranged everything for me and it was the cheapest rental I have ever paid for; seriously, it was surprisingly affordable and a great value. When it came time to pick up my vehicle (a couple days early, which I knew because they updated me consistently), it was literally so clean and fixed so well that I didn't recognize it. Seriously, I stood in the lot looking for my car when it was right there in front of me. Apparently that's what my car looks like it if nobody runs into me and it's super clean. It hadn't been that clean since I bought it. So, you're welcome to not take your car here, but I don't recommend taking it anywhere else. read more

Don't get me wrong, this is not your average repair shop with skeezy repair guys. These guys are really nice and don't give you the feeling you're being hoodwinked; I really appreciate this as a woman! Every time I've gone in, they have given me quick estimates that turn out to be very accurate when it comes time to pay up. My car comes back to me clean and looking new again. The back seat of my car was mysteriously flooding. I took my car so far apart, I was concerned about getting it put back properly. But I caulked what I though was the problem, managed to get the car back together. And... it flooded again. Recently, those dents conspired to limit the opening of the driver's door. I called a couple of places and only the Bump Shop really heard me when I said I didn't want to spend a lot of money and didn't care about looks, just function. I dropped into the Bump Shop, without an appointment, and in less than 15 minutes I was back on the road with a driver's door that opened all the way! We had the Bump Shop fix the front end of our car in November/December. They did great work on our car. I'm disappointed, though, in the customer service associated with timing and delivery. They initially told us it would take one week to fix the car, but it took two. They only told us it would be two weeks when we called at the end of the first week, expecting it to be finished. We had to rent a car while they were working on ours, paying out of pocket (not through our insurance company). We rented through the rental company they have a partnership with. Because the work took an extra week, we had to pay an extra ~$350 for the rental car. It was pretty clear that they added the extra week without us knowing in advance. When we asked if they could give us credit or a discount for the extra $350 we had to pay unexpectedly for the extra week of the rental car, we were met with them just shrugging their shoulders. I should note, too, that this was right before Christmas and impacted our Christmas plans significantly. So, to summarize, they do great body work. But, I am disappointed that their delay cost us $350 we hadn't budgeted for AND they refused to accept some responsibility for the delay and added cost. read more

They are way too busy through every interaction. They eventually fixed my car 6 days late. They did a fine job and were professional, but the attention to detail wasn't there and it felt rushed. There was still marking paint on the car and my clock wasn't set to the right time. If I wanted an update I had to call in leave a message and hope they had time to get back to me. If they start taking less work or hire more people I could recommend them but as of now i'll take my car somewhere else next time. read more

The Boulder Bump Shop is simply amazing! I drive a 2002 Acura RSX that I've had since 2005 and have not had to make any payments on it nor have I ever been in an accident, so I don't have Collision Insurance. Well, on a slushie snow day in Boulder, I was unable to stop on a downhill slope (I could hear my antilock brakes crunching), and I rear-ended the SUV ahead of me. While everyone was okay, my car was not. My hood was scrunched back, and my bumper was hanging off the front of my car; both my headlights were busted as well. I went into the Boulder Bump at the recommendation of my coworkers and boss, and couldn't be happier. I met with Dan, and he evaluated my car and tried to do as much as possible to save me money, as I was paying entirely out of pocket and had a substantial amount of damage. He even suggested reusing my bumper, not painting under the new hood, and not doing a paint blend on the side panels that they normally would do - all of which I was okay with. I just wanted my car to be drivable! I ended up ordering OEM Acura RSX headlights online as I had found them on sale from another dealership, which shaved $150 off of my overall amount. The great part was that the Boulder Bump was happy to take them and place them on my car, no problem. Ultimately, I got my car back in just over a week, it looked amazing, and came in just under the original estimate (not counting headlights on either the estimate or the final amount). I also would like to add that I ended up working with Luke, and he was very responsive to any questions I had, and called me with several updates. I truly recommend the Boulder Bump to anyone needing auto body repair! read more

We recently rear ended another vehicle and smashed in the front of our Chevy Volt. It broke the charging system so we had to have the car towed in. Boulder Bump did a fantastic job of managing the repair process, setting expectations about the time needed to fix it and in the end did a fantastic job getting it back to new condition. People seem to get worked up by the timing of a fix but I think Boulder Bump does a nice job of project management. It's a complex job putting a modern car back together and most people probably want their car back asap, so any little delay will cause dissatisfaction. I was really happy with the work they did and the ease of getting the repair completed. read more

I have been taking my car(s) to the Bump Shop for years. Actually my whole family has. They always are so friendly and do such an amazing job. Whether you are using insurance or not, they have by far the best quality. The turnaround is quick and they are always honest about how long it will take (most of the time it's done sooner!). I brought my car in for an accident I didn't want to claim under my insurance and they were so helpful in making it as cheap as possible but the highest quality. With all the snow, it's been tough on my 2003 Corolla. I came out of work one day to find that someone had either slid or backed into my front bumper and while there was minimal damage, the bumper wasn't on quite right and was hanging off a little. This summer I have had to go to five different Boulder automotive repair shops. Boulder Bump Shop is by far the best--by leaps and bounds. I went here because I had scratched my car on a dumpster and some paint came off the side. Within 10 minutes of my arrival, my car had been inspected by staff-member Luke. He informed me that the staff could buff out the scratches instead of doing a paint job/full repair, if I would prefer that. The process took a mere 15 minutes, during which the employee up front happily answered a bunch of my questions about cars, complete with diagrams and drawings. After 15 minutes, Luke brought the car back out and the car looked great. All the scratches were gone and they put a few paint touch-ups to prevent rust. Luke said the service was free-of-charge and he insisted it be free, even after I said I felt like I should pay for the labor costs. As a young woman, I'll be honest: I dread going into auto repair shops. I always feel like the staff views me as someone they can manipulate into paying more than I need to and so I'm always on-guard. I never felt this unease at BBS--the employees were transparent, respectful, professional, and friendly. They weren't out to get as much money from me as they possibly could, instead, they left me with more accurate information of car repair and maintenance. The staff is awesome. If I was a permanent resident of Boulder, this would be the only place I'd take my car. read more

At Boulder Bump Shop, my car did spend an extra unanticipated week in the shop due to an issue with some machinery in the shop, but although they were unable to meet my "promise date", I'm happy with the job they did. First, she told me that they cannot accept credit card from me although they usually do it for others. Secondly, she refused to provide warranty for the repair only for my car. I was rear ended and needed a new bumper on my crosstrek. They had a cancellation and were able to get my in quickly. It was repaired in 4 days. Sadly once I got it home and really looked at the repair, I noticed the bumper wasn't the same shade as the rest of my car. Nothing too drastic, but in certain lighting it was pretty noticeable, just a different shade of white/pearl. They have a warranty guarantee on all their work, and we're able to book an appointment for me and quickly fix the bumper. They paid for a rental, and my car was fixed again in 3 days. It's now the perfect shade and I am extremely happy with their work. I was pretty worried I would have to battle with them on making it right, but they were very kind and acknowledged the problem. I went in today because I had some clips that were broken on my back bumper and was told by the Toyota dealership that I would have to replace my whole back bumper and that there was nothing they could do.... Absolutely worst experience. A minor side mirror repair scheduled for two hours took three days. Then they banged mirror. Ordered new mirror had it painted cured two weeks and upon installation found they ordered wrong mirror. Been over two months and still not fixed. Never go here. read more

The repair was good, the service is horrible. I have used Boulder Bump Shop on two occasions. Both times I was told that my vehicle would be ready on a Friday. I notified them that I work in Boulder but do not live nearby, so asked if they could possibly do their best to try to have the vehicle done by 3pm. Both times I received the telephone call that my truck was ready at 5pm when I had already left Boulder for the weekend. On the first occasion, asked to have my windshield replaced, separate from the insurance claim. This was forgotten and not done. On the second occasion, after I picked up my truck and left, I noticed that the turn signal must have been connected improperly because it wasn't working. Having to go back to have this fixed is an inconvenience and frustration. My repair work was done very well. However, the team at Boulder Bump Shop does not care about the customer, and the service reflects that. I will NOT be giving them a third chance. read more

I took the truck to Boulder Bump Shop for an estimate to repair the damage from the fender bender and other dents and dings. called and asked if i needed an appointment for an estimate. they said no, just come on in any time before 5. i show up and they say they can't make quotes after 4 (even though it was 3:50!!!). they say i can make an appointment for the next day, and turn me away. why didn't you just ask me to make an appointment when i called you asking about appointments. why does your website say "just come on in" instead of "you need to make an appointment ahead of time." what a waste of time!!! bleh. read more
