The new LG washer/dryer

We have shopped at Bouchard-Pierce for home appliances for many years, always with excellent results. Most recently, we completed two big projects with them: First, we replaced our 28-year-old "laundry center" with an LG stackable washer/dryer combo that they recommended (and that were also the #1 recommendations in Consumer Reports). Our home is small, and our laundry room is even smaller (a closet, really). Clearances all over the house are measured in fractions of an inch. They determined that the LG system would in fact fit, with 1/8" clearance at the top and 1 1/2" clearance on the sides, removed our old appliance (which had to be partially disassembled to get it out), and got our machines installed. Second, we replaced our kitchen counter with quartz, using a pattern/color style they recommended, which turned out beautifully. Halfway through the counter install, their subcontractor's supervisors came by and helped their installers correct a small error to ensure a perfect installation. (Our own contractor installed our new sink, and did the site prep for both jobs.) We highly recommend Bouchard-Pierce for any appliance upgrade or kitchen remodel, and for anything else you need that they provide.

I hardly ever review the big box stores, because they're all the same. But I had a DIY project over…read morethe weekend and needed a few things my local hardware store didn't have in stock. The people I interacted with a Home Depot were knowledgeable about items in their own department, as well as helping me find products in other departments. I've noticed they will usually walk you over to the area instead of just saying isle 24. One of the things I was looking for was in the most obscure place, I would never have found it. These guys were great. I know it can be hit or miss, but this trip was very good for me.

Shortly after install the washer was malfunctioning. It was shaking so badly that anything on to went flying. I called Samsung. After weeks of waiting I was told that there are no service providers in our area. No service for two brand new machines! I called the store. They called Samsung. I started going to the laundromat. I called a regular service company in the area who came right out. They said that the bracket that holds the drum in place was broken and no parts were available for Samsung machines. Back to the store and Samsung. Home Depot would not exchange the machines for an alternate brand. Long story short Samsung finally found a new identical machine. Delivery 8 months later. Not two months later new machine same thing. I call Home Depot. The manager of the Williston VT store dismisses me like a bothersome child. Call Samsun. Do you have a direct number? No. Why does Home Depot still carry a brand that you know does not have service? She said, "Lots of stores do that." I asked how Home Depot can charge hundreds of dollars for en extended warranty that can not be used? She said, "Call Samsung." After explaining that we have been customers of Home Depot for over 30 years and am extremely disappointed, she said in the most dismissive way possible, "Is there anything else?" So from Williston Home Depot to a loyal customer a big FU. I guess my appliance replacement and kitchen renovation will be from Lowes.

I live 3 miles from the store so I figured getting something delivered from here would be easier than trying to arrange something with a business farther away. The delivery policy, although possibly well-designed for Lowe's, blows. I have to wait two weeks for delivery despite getting a call from the store a few days after purchase informing me that my items arrived. To deliver my items 3 miles away, Lowe's can only give me a day they intend to do so. On that day, someone will call me and give me a 3-hour window of time when they will come. Since I work, I can't set aside a day to sit around and wait for a call only to sit around and wait for some guys to show up. Again, I am 3 miles away. If you can't do better than that with your delivery schedule then I see no reason to make large purchases from Lowe's. P.S. I discovered that I need a power cord for the dryer that I purchased (by the way, I am still waiting for the complicated delivery formula to make it my turn) and went to Lowe's to buy it. I figured I should get it at the store where I purchased the dryer. It's lame that the appliance does not come with its own source of power but one can hardly blame Lowe's for that. I stood in the appliance section for 20 minutes waiting for help. I then circulated the other departments and could not find a soul to help me. This was at 4:00 and the store was fairly empty. At 4:40 when I left empty-handed, nobody had surfaced to help me.

This has been a nightmare that won't end. I hope Yelp did not give anymore than one star…read more my last two refrigerators I purchased here we're not cheap. They were two to $3000 apiece and they've not lasted anymore than a year when I go to have the other refrigerator removed by the people who are delivering this refrigerator the delivery people refused to take it away. I was told that if I called got junk, they would reimburse it , it's been since July. And I'm not allowed to talk to the management staff here now simply because I reported them to the attorney generals office for fraud since I have had to be here so many times I'm still not been paid back for this, I have been in the store now. They have not done it STILL. The fact that they won't even hold up their end of the agreement. (we were told at every step we would be paid back for one 800 got junk now they're saying we think we should be paid back and they're saying that they didn't say we would be paid) this is exploitative. I can't go elsewhere because when they're appliances fail, they send you a gift card to Lowe's. I spoke to the corporate office many times each time not only was I told we would be paid back in an overnight check. I also would receive 40 and $50 gift certificates for my inconvenience. My inconvenience has yet to end. It's now October 5th this incident was in July. I have been there so many times this is insane and I am hell hostage by them. I can't go somewhere else because they sell me a useless appliance and then they give me a gift card to pay me back so I'm stuck.
